Indonesian Idol (JOY to World Idol)

The first Indonesian Idol has begun more than 1 month. The show is success here in Indonesia, so i think it need a seperated thread to talk about it.

For those who don't know about this show, I'll review it...
The show airs on local tv station, RCTI, every Friday at 8 pm local time.

Indonesian Idol has 4 judges, which is:


(from left to right : Indra Lesmana, Titi DJ, Dimas, Meuthia Kasim)

have 2 hosts, which is:


(from left to right : Ata, Irgi)

and have 11 finalists, which is:

(from left to right : Adika, Bona, Delon, Helena)

(from left to right : Joy, Karen, Lucky, Micky)

(from left to right : Nania, Suci, Winda)

P.S. : the grey images show finalist who have been eliminated. so the other hand, the colourful one show finalist who still exists.

These 11 finalists make through the final after passed several audition.
Actually, there should be just 10 finalists (which is 3 from each 3 groups, and 1 from wildcard show)
Group 1 : Helena, Micky, Delon
Group 2 : Adika, Joy, Winda
Group 3 : Bona, Suci, Nania
WildCard : Karen

Then, the judges insist to pass Lucky. They said Lucky deserved to go to final
So the rules have to changed, at the first week, Indonesian Idol have to eliminate 2 finalists.

First week :
the theme was Top 40 songs. They sang new songs, and the two who have to eliminated were Adika and Suci.

2nd Week :
they sang oldies songs, and the one who have to eliminated was Winda.

Delon sang Aku Ingin

3rd Week :
love songs was the theme, Karen was out.
Guest star is Guy Sebastian (1st Australian Idol)

Helena sang You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman
Joy sang To Love You More
Karen sang Cinta Jangan Kau Pergi
Lucky sang Januari
Michael sang Maafkan
Nania sang Kerinduan

4th Week :
they sang Indonesian still-living legend singer, Chrisye, songs.
Nania was absent coz she had appendictis surgery.
(the rule is if one contestant can only absent once, more than that will be eliminated. It happened in Pop Idol in UK).
Bona was eliminated.
Guest star of course is Chrisye

Joy sang Pelangi
Delon sang Seperti Yang Kau Minta
Helena sang Hip Hip Hura

5th Week :
the theme was pop-rock songs. Nania was comeback so didn't have to out of the show. This time the loser one is Lucky.
Guest Star are Arman "Gigi" and Andi "Rif"

6th Week :
the theme was Pop Dance.
Michael had to out of the show.
Guest Star was Elfa's Singer.

Helena sang Bawa Daku by Ruth Sahanaya

7th Week (TOP 4) :
the theme was Indonesian Top Hits. Each of finalists had to sing 2 songs.
One of the jury, Muthia was absent, and replace by Krisdayanti.
Helena was eliminated
Guest star of course was Krisdayanti.

8th Week (TOP 3) :
the theme was Indonesian Diva. Each of finalists had to sing 2 songs.
Nania was eliminated
Guest star was Ruth Sahanaya and Vina Panduwinata.

9th Week (GRAND FINAL) :
Each of finalists had to sing 3 songs.
First song was chosen by the finalist.
2nd song was picked by the judges
3rd the finalist sang the same song Karena Cinta (specially made by Glenn Fredly for II)
No Guest Star and at Sept 4 will be announced who The First Indonesian Idol

Wow..Sugi thanks a lot to make this thread..hehehe..we need it a lot because we are talking about II all the time in Indo threads for sinetron and stuff..

Well last nite is such a horrible one!!! How can Lucky get eliminated??? He sang brilliantly!!! OMG..i even get the 'chill' and he get eliminated??? I think the one who deserve it is Helena..she sang soooooo weird last nite.

Delon..thank God he choose the right song for his vocal..now..even Dimas jay said that he sang great yesterday!!!

Ehmm.. Sugi..Michael sang Mahadewi from Padi he sounds fantastic..

And Armand Maulana became the guest star OMG..i love GIGI so much..i even watch their showcase everywhere in Jakarta if they performed..and Armand is SUPERB!!

Honestly I don't feel sad knowing that Lucky is the one who was eliminated. I'm agree with Dimas Jay, too much vibra. Umm... not good for my ears. hhaha kidding.
Hmm... Helena is the one who should be eliminated instead. ^^;;
And last night Nania didn't perform well. Her voice didn't match with the orchestra. ^^;; but it's okay because she just recovered from her illness. =)

I just realized that II finalists are from many different race. Batak, Papua and even Chinese. Indo is so 'beragam' just like 'Gado gado'.

yeah i dun feel sad also lucky got eliminated. even his voice is good, but i dun like him. too many vibration. :p im okay with it. :p

btw.. i 4got to watch it lastnite. :p im busy helping my frenz at his shop. :p then i miss it. my frenz remind me when it oredi 9 oclock. useless.

bout helena.. im still support her even she's not getting bettter. but i like her.
joy, i have to admire her voice very awesome. but dunno y, i dun like her expression. it's always the same expression all time. :p

their album is not bad, excply joy, she sang with her own style, can get out of original singer....
i've heard II album have made double platinum, right?

yeah... i think Helena should be eliminated last night, she's the weakest...
but also think Lucky deserved it, like i've said many times before: too many vibra, made the song mess up...

the review:
Nania : wow... what superb voices, even though mess up with the orchestra (but it made sense after being recovered from surgery)
Michael : sang very well, great job, now i can hear his voice clearly...
Helena : didn't make any improve with her voices... (next week will be her to be eliminated)
Lucky : too many vibra, think should deserve it to be eliminated...
Joy : didn't impress me much this time... dunno why...
Delon : very good, getting better and better....

i can't imagine all of them 'goyang ngebor' and sing 'dangdut is the music of my country' ohoho. and the guest star is inul daratista. the surprise: roma irama is also invited so there will be a 'war' between inul + roma irama. hohoho olive olive what are you talking about?! ^^;

heyaa delon is gonna sing fast song next week. so.... let's see his performance!!! ^^

Well... 'Juwita' is one of Chrisye's songs. Chrisye is a top singer in Indonesia. I guess you're looking for Juwita Suwito right? ^^
Do you know that Suci means Pure in English? ^^

yeah... you right, Suci is pretty, and the most important have a great voice too.
she is my fav... but too bad she chose a wrong song at 1st week, so she was eliminated

Wah Sughie, thanks a bunch for this new thread. I was always either late or miss completely the II, and never follow the daily updates (diary ??). Too bad they don't have rerun like AI in star world before. Now it's top 5 already, interesting, I should follow them weekly. I think they should sing more than 1 song (theme) to give them better chance to proof their range.

Hehehe, for "country", I'd suggest keroncong (let's see who could get away with " that special "cengkok"), lagu lagu daerah or national songs (since it's our National Month of August !!).

Let's bet for the top 3. Mine : Delon, Nania, Joy. Now it's hard to predict who will be Juara, but my guess will be Nania, especially if she got supports from Batak/North Sumatera people like AFI :-(.
