Taiwanese performer, Jay Chou, is indeed, a true master of all trades. Apart from his singing, composing, directing and production capabilities, Jay has yet another trick up his sleeves and amply displays his drawing talent with the exposed sketches from his upcoming idol drama series, Pandaman.
Sketches originally created and drawn by Jay aptly displayed an adorable and mischievous side to the vigilante role of Pandaman. Sneak peeks of the hero's lavish home and the hidden room in the study can also be seen from the exposed sketches.
According to sources, the creative team was shocked and full of praises for Jay's talents when they saw his completed sketches. Jay's artistic talents are believed to be inherited from his mother, Ye Hui Mei, who used to be an ex-high school art teacher.
A member of the production team revealed that the Chinese hero's costume in the movie underwent 10 different modifications and took two months to complete. Two days ago, the manager of Beijing Jiuzhou Culture Communications, Liu Jianhua, explained that the debut of the drama series in China will be pushed back from December to January due to Jay's perfectionist personality.
The initial production cost of each episode of this idol drama series was slated to cost S$100,000 each. However, the 20-episode series has exceeded the original budget and currently amounts up to S$4million (S$500,000 for each episode) in total. Despite increasing production costs, the appeal of Jay is not to be overlooked. It was said that the copyright fee for each episode of Pandaman currently stands at S$300,000 per episode.
