新聞台打破藩籬 破天荒同步播出歌手MV 只為周杰倫！
Unprecedented move by News channels – simultaneous broadcast of an artiste’s MV, it can only be Jay Chou!
周杰倫第九張專輯「魔杰座」首波主打歌「稻香」，22日一在電台首播後就獲得歌迷熱烈的迴響，「稻香」的詞 曲創作皆出自周杰倫之手，同時他也身兼導演拍攝MV，為了表現「稻香」的風味，周導特地到鄉下的四合院與稻 田取景，而這支MV沒有女主角卻邀請了好朋友楊瑞代（Gary）入鏡，他們坐著牛車在鄉間小路唱歌、也在田 埂上奔跑跳躍，非常愜意！
Jay Chou’s first single “Paddy Fragrance” from his 9th studio album “Capricorn” was instantaneously well received by the fans upon its release on 22nd September. The lyrics and composition of the song “Paddy Fragrance” was done by Jay. At the same time, he also directed the song’s MV. In order to fully present the ‘Paddy Fragrance’, Director Chou chose a rural village countryside for the location of the shoot. This MV does not have a female lead, instead, Pres Chou got his good friend Yan Rui Dai (Gary) to co-star in the MV. They sang on an ox cart being pulled through a path in the paddy field, and even raced around the paddy field in a carefree manner!
造型上周董一身的民俗風是在泰國拍廣告後買回來的服裝，他還使用自己從日本買的「木箱鼓」秀了一段精湛的打 鼓節奏，再度展露自己多元的音樂才華！這支充滿著金黃色稻穗幸福感的MV在24日將在於各頻道開始強打，特 別的是當日晚間8點整將在年代新聞、中天新聞、東森新聞、三立新聞、TVBS新聞、非凡新聞台等6家新聞台 同步播出！這也是新聞台破天荒首度願意同步播出歌手的MV，足見周董即將發片的大事在新聞界的 影響力！
In the costume department, the costume he wore for the MV was actually a souvenir he brought from Thailand. He even used the Cajón – a drum he brought from Japan – in the MV, once again displaying his musical genius! The MV of this heartwarming song premiered across Taiwan’s on 24th September. What is surprising about the premiere is that it was broadcasted across 6 major News Networks - ERA News, CTI TV, NOW News, Set TV, TVBS News, Us TV – simultaneously! This was an unprecedented move by News Stations to broadcast a Music Video of a singer. It is not surprising that Pres Chou was that singer!
「稻香」的曲風融合了嘻哈民謠與周式饒舌風，MV裡周董穿著民俗風造型在牛車上、鄉間小路與稻田上對嘴演出 ，農村與嘻哈元素的結合在MV表現方式上可說是史無前例！而特地到中壢新屋鄉取景的音樂錄影帶，除了有綠油 油的稻田在MV中不可或缺，獨立的四合院更是吸引導演目光的重要原因！拍攝當天動用了30多位扮演老中青三 代的臨演在四合院裡演出和樂融融的情景，被人群圍繞的周董與Gary打著「木箱鼓」、彈著吉他，無憂無慮的 氣氛，營造家的溫暖。
“Paddy Fragrance” combined the genres of Western Hip-Hop and Country Folk. Pres Chou wore a simple village costume in the MV, singing and dancing in the countryside, displaying a very carefree spirit, something that was not done before! The MV was shot at a village called Zhongli Xinwu, which has a rich spread of paddy fields along its vast countryside. The paddy fields were an indispensable element in the MV. This was the reason why this rural village was selected as its shooting location. Over 30 villagers, both young and old, were casted in the MV representing 3 generations. Everyone sang along harmoniously – with Jay beating the Cajón drum and his good friend, Gary, strumming the guitar – creating a very heartwarming scene.
周董在MV中對嘴演出，MV的故事則是由臨演詮釋，故事是描述一個中年男子在工作上受挫，還把氣出在老婆小 孩的身上，後來他回到四合院老家，媽媽和親友溫暖的擁抱與接待，帶給他堅強的力量迎接未來，故事要表現的就 是周杰倫激勵人心的歌詞。
As Pres Chou sang in the MV, the storyline in the MV denotes the life of a young man who suffered setbacks in his career (he was fired). He was so frustrated that he even vented his anger at his wife and daughter. He eventually went home to his hometown, and was welcomed warmly by his mother, relatives and friends. Under the support and love given by his family and friends, he found the courage to continue working hard. The storyline was also to reflect the touching and heartwarming lyrics.
他說：「家是最溫暖的城堡，不用『衣錦』也可以『還鄉』！鄉下的四合院很有感覺，在台北市不太容易找得到， 因為這種輕鬆自在的氣氛，讓我想找Gary來搭檔演出。」MV裡坐在牛車上唱歌彈奏迎接夕陽的兩人相當悠哉 ，不過拉牛車的可不是牛卻是工作人員，因為周董說：「為了保護動物所以不用牛來拉車。」而為了拍攝完美，牛 車在鄉間小路來來回回拉了十數遍，沒有累到牛，倒是把工作人員給累翻天。
Jay said, “Home is like a safe and heartwarming castle. You can go back whatever the circumstances*. This rural and laidback countryside isn’t something that can be found easily in Taiwan nowadays. It also made me feel like getting Gary to star in the MV as well.” Singing and strumming the guitar on the ox cart while basking in the sunset, the pair appeared very carefree. However, the ox cart was not being pulled by an ox, but a staff, Jay explained, “This is because of animal protection, thus we did not use an actual ox.” In order to get the perfect shot, the cart was pulled up and down the path in the paddy field over ten times. In the end, it wasn’t the ox that was tired, but the worker who pulled the ox cart along the path.
MV中還可以看到周董「各地取材」的元素，造型上民俗風的打扮就是之前在泰國拍廣告後帶回來的服裝，蓬鬆飄 逸的褲子還有剪裁獨特的上衣，戴上草帽後走在鄉間田埂上別有一番風味！而悠哉坐在四合院裡的周董好像看似隨 性拍打自己坐的木箱，可別以為他是坐在木箱上！他坐的可是源自中南美的樂器「木箱鼓」，周杰倫說：「這不是 普通的木箱，它是一個蠻屌的鼓，是我之前從日本帶回來的，因為它的構造很特別，可以打出大鼓小鼓的聲音，所 以就買下來，想說總有一天會派上用場。」
There are other interesting ‘country’ elements that can be seen in the MV, such as the costume he wears in the MV. It was brought from Thailand, and it comes complete with a straw hat and a uniquely tailored shirt, adding to the country ‘feel’! As Pres Chou sang while sitting in the village’s assembly area, he appeared to be beating on the wooden crate he is sitting on. Do not mistake it for a wooden crate! He was sitting on a Latin-American drum known as the Cajón, Jay said, “This is no ordinary wooden crate, it is a pretty ‘Diao’ drum. I brought if from Japan because I found the design very special, it can produce the sounds from both a big drum and a small one. I brought it with the intention to put it to use one day.”
「木箱鼓」屬於街頭表演的樂器，在台灣極為罕見，在中南美洲、美國或日本的街頭比較常見，周董藉著這支MV 又帶來令人耳目一新的樂器表演！他是趁今年在日本演唱會後的空檔逛街時，看見街頭藝人以這樂器打擊出變化多 端的鼓聲感到相當好奇，立刻在日本樂器行買了兩個「木箱鼓」回來研究，短短的練習時間就打出悅耳的節奏！這 也是他出道以來，繼長笛、大提琴、吉他、爵士鼓、大鼓、古箏、三絃琴…之後，在擅長的鋼琴之外所嘗試的樂器 ，再度展現他探索樂器的音樂天份！
The Cajón is a drum that is hardly found in Taiwan. It is a more common sight in Latin-America, America and Japan. Pres Chou once again introduced a new musical element into his music! He first chanced upon this drum when he was in Japan for his World Tour. While shopping after a performance, he saw street performers creating a wide variety of musical sounds with the instrument. Finding it very amusing and refreshing, he immediately brought 2 Cajóns home. Jay was able to play the instrument after a few short practice sessions! This latest instrument that he introduced to the general pop culture comes after he used other instruments like the Chinese flute, Cello, Guitar, Chinese drums, Western drums, Gu Zheng (Chinese Zither) and the pandourion. After excelling in the piano, Jay went on to experiment with other musical instruments to display his talent in music!
自從「稻香」這首歌在電台首播後獲得歌迷廣大迴響，有人聽完感動到直說很想回家鄉！而msn網站在23日晚 間6點首播短版的「稻香」MV，消息一在網站公佈，歌迷紛紛致電詢問真假，網站的客服部電話接到爆，只好先 暫時把這個訊息移除，等到播出時間靠近時才再度擺上訊息，歌迷對周董發片的期待度可見一般。
Jay’s “Paddy Fragrance” was very well received by fans after it premiered on air, some fans even claimed that they felt like going back to their hometown after listening to it! MSN.com first released short segments of “Paddy Fragrance” at 6pm on 23th September, once news of this release spread, fans started to call up the MSN’s customer service hotline and sent email inquires asking if this MV was legit. Calls reached an unprecedented level so much so that MSN had to take down the MV segments temporary, before putting it back on after the MV premiered on the News Network. It seems only Pres Chou’s fans can create such an uproar whenever he is releasing an album.
*Footnote: Literally translated, Jay said, ‘You can go back even when you are broke.’ But it was a metaphor for home is a safe haven when you can return whatever the circumstances.
