When you're Jay Chou, retirement is never a problem.
Especially when he has raked in over TWD 2.3b (S$120m) for the past six years, making him one of the most profitable stars around.
The 31-year-old superstar recently held a press conference in Taiwan after his concerts in Singapore concluded.
He told reporters that he does not plan to stay in showbiz when he can no longer earn his keep.
"I will back out if I'm no longer popular. I don't see the need to spend my whole life in showbiz. I know that it'll too much to ask for the children to treat an uncle as an idol."
While his role in Hollywood's The Green Hornet was highly anticipated, his self-directed idol drama Pandamen received negative responses.

The two stars took part in a charity basketball match in opposing team, and Jay’s team came out on top.
They are kings of the stage but in the court, it's no longer a one-man show.
Taiwanese princes of pop Jay Chou and Show Luo participated in a basketball match organized by basketball star Yao Ming. The match is part of the Yao Foundation Charity Tour to raise funds.
In one of the segments in the basketball event, celebrities take on a shooting contest: for every basket made within 24 seconds, TWD 10,000 (about S$500) will be donated to the Yao Foundation.
