With a reputation guaranteed to bring in box office ratings, multi-hyphenate Taiwanese performer, Jay Chou, invested a lump sum of S$6.5 million into his first television drama series production, Pandaman. Although the drama has yet to be broadcasted, Jay is already pocketing money from the licensing fees paid for by television stations that are interested in airing his drama series.

Estimated to be racking in S$50 million from his new venture, Jay's monetary returns are comparable to that earned by Disney's cartoon merchandise. The 30-year-old who will be guest-starring in the show as a cop said, "This is not just a drama series. It can be called a movie."

Each episode for Jay's upcoming drama series costs S$200,000 in production value. This series will be making its way to the small screens in China and Taiwan next year in January with its gala premiere held at one of Beijing's stadiums.

According to various reports, the biggest revenue for Jay's latest and newest venture would be the profits reaped in from its merchandises. Starting off a line of Pandaman toys, stationary, clothes, accessories and a comic series is estimated to be worth S$30 million in total.

I'm smileyfriend95. You can call me ws though. Kay. I like C-pop and have a preference for male singers. I like singer-songwriters like Jay, JJ, Khalil, Gary and Leehom. Haha, did you notice 2 of their names start with J. Lol. The female singers I admire are Amei from Taiwan and Stefanie from Singapore. I think they both have great voices. I'm also taking note of the newbies in the c-pop circle like Crowd Lu and Ham Hsiao. All hail good voices!!! That's it. I've tried all of the tricks I know. DownloadHelper on Firefox doesn't even register it, it doesn't show up on Page Info, and when i switch over to IE I still can't find it in my temporary internet files.

TAIPEI : Indonesian media had falsely reported that Taiwanese star Jay Chou had died from a drug overdose, according to Taiwanese reports.

On Saturday, a reader alerted The Liberty Times of online discussions on social networking site, Facebook, about the singer's death and requested that the paper verify the reports.

When contacted, Chou's record label JVR quashed the rumours saying the star is fine and is currently in America filming "The Green Hornet". It also warned the public not to believe the rumours.

This isn't the first time the singer is reported to have died. In 2004, a Chinese website published a report saying Chou was killed in an accident after a collision with a truck.

NOTE:- I was really shocked when the news of Jay's death spread like a wildfire.
