i remember my friend telling me that there is this taiwanese guy who is so cute :blush: and sings very well coming to malaysia, asking if anyone is interested in going. told her i dun mind but in the end we din go. that time i wasn't really into asian music so i din really bother much though i heard his song - xing qing quite often. then sometimes last year when i began to pick up asian music, i bought this compilation which has jay, leehom and harlem. i sorta fell in love :love: with the song - kai bu liao kou, thus began the journey of me and him hahahahahaha :laughing: so what started all the craze about him is his music which to me also reflects his personality because its one of a kind - jielun style - that's what is great about it cos it's the music not the person. i am a sucker for cute guys who isn't rite? :bleh: it's like i tell my friends that i like jay, and they would go yah he is good but if i tell them i think that f4 (no offense to anyone out there) is good, majority of the people would go like - what? they are just a bunch of pretty boys dancing on stage. so i am proud to say jay is one of the singer that i admire for his music and talent.

first, it was the good beat n melodies in his songs, nice to listen to...
then i read the lyrics n was TOTALLY blown away...wow...n started singing along
then starting watching mvs n started being obsessed w/ his songs...
slowly realizes he's not bad looking...
realizes he's good-looking....
watches him on concerts, news, etc n falls n luv w/ his personality, style, n the way he talks, walks, stands, sits, smiles, etc.....
then realizes he's HHHOOOTTT
then sinks into full-blown jay obsession

It was his music that made me notice him at first...and then his personality as I was reading about him on the internet...and lastly his looks because the more I admire him as a person, the more attractive he seems! I just love listening to his music at night and imagine him singing it to me....*sigh*

Ofcourse it was his music that has make me being over-obsessed by Jay :laughing: !!! Firstly I heard his 8D album, where I only saw the cover with his face on it... :dry: ...and I really started to like his songs...and then I wanted to know more abt him, abt his looks (which is great :excited: :bleh: heehee...), and his character etc. So, for me it was his GREAT music :wink2: !!!

I started to like Jay first because of his music.He is just so talented that I can't even remember any artist I know of who is also as talented as Jay.Second would be his personality and last would be his looks.Now I think looks don't really matter anymore anyway.

Well, naturally, it was Jay's talented voice and music that made me drawn to him. Later on when I "researched" on him, I found out what he looked like, and thought he was cute. And then I joined this forum and began to learn about his personality, and wow - his personality is so much more different than all those other artists out there. I think, besides his music of course, the only thing that's keeping me attached to him is his personality. I've liked an artist before, obsessed over one, and then lost interest; with Jay, I can't even imagine that happening. It's the fact that it's all so foreign to me, Chinese, and all that also draws me to him. I'm so glad that he's not conceited, I couldn't listen to someone's music, whether it be good or not, and enjoy it if I knew that they had a bad personality...

When he first came out, I thought he was soo "unpleasant" (don't want to use a rude word or anything ;D) looking.. so I decided to just like his music. But then later.. he suddenly got very pleasant looking.

i like jay because of his music,as it is vry well written and has a good tune.i also like his personality,cause i feel that it iz quite similar to mine cause i'm also a shy person,any1 i dun know well i won't talk much :blush: especailly in front of a girl i like from another class in school :blush: .The most important thing iz that i finally found a person(jay) who have the same habit of not liking to wear underwear. :laughing: Cause whenever i wear underwear, i feel that something iz stuck between my legs,vry uncomfortable,only when i go out then i wear,but at home i won't wear at all ..... :laughing: his looks are ok,but i like his fashion sense....

yea i think most of us would agree that it was his talents and music that first appealed to us...and of course he gets cuter as i begin to like him more and more. he didnt look very attrative in the beginning but his cute and shy personality in a way makes up for it. pple who criticize jay's looks just don't see jay the same way ultimate jay fans do.

Me the first time I listen to Jay was because my friend keep on telling me he's really good and I immediately fell in love with his music .....i couldn't believe there is still such a talented artist like jay out there......i went to look up onfo on him and i didn't like how he look at that time.......with that hairstyle....i then get to read and know about him more so i really admires him for his character cause I'm like him in a way...shy, quiet......then these few earlier months he looks damn cute and better each time i go and search for wallpapers of him.....good music makes you beautiful you know.

MUSIC! I only knew what he looked like from 'The Eight Dimensions' cd cover, that was like half a face that i saw on the the cover....i guess after listening to his songs so many times, I got curious about him, so i went online and read stuff. His and looks and his personality I ended up liking at the same time. :)

I do that often... It was only two years because I forgot about Jay for awhile, and then after two years, got around to investigating. Ehe. ^^; I do that often, listen to artists before looking at their faces. I like to do that so I can judge the artist solely by their music, not by looks.

Since I listen to a few JRock groups, I've learned that it's best to listen to the music before passing judgment on the musician. Besides, I'm always too lazy to surf around for pictures.

It was definitely Jay's music, talent and voice that first attracted me ^_^ As time progressed, the realisation that he was drop dead sexy began to hit me as I saw more pics of him revealing more of his face. :happy:

So as I "researched" him and watched him on TV/interviews and stuff, I got to see more of his cute personality and shy nature, and the fact that he's so humble about his popularity and success.. and I guess that's why a lot of us like him not just as a singer, but also as a person. Anyway, Jay's my longest celebrity obsession as well.. I'll probably still be playing my Jay CDs in 50 years, letting my grandkids appreciate this old, but good music. :D

Hey guys~ this is great, cos most (or isit all?) of you started out liking his music. My obsession with Jay has been the longest too, cos i've liked other singers/bands for a while but it died down. But it's really different with Jay, cos he has got such great music, (not to say the heart-melting smile, the cute little eyes, beautiful eyebrows, great fashion sense, and the OMG body), he really stands out from the rest. His Music is definitely the most important factor that allows him to be a "rnb little king". :happy:

Hm... the first one it's gotta be HIS PERSONALITY.

I love his music a lot, the first time I hear his Ban Shou Ren, I already fell for his music. But the MAIN thing that caught my heart is b'coz his shy but confident personality. And I like him because he's so diao and a music genius. I adore his talents alot too. Doesn't have to be in music, but also in basketball, and in performing. And I also love him that he's cool but he leaves all bad traits such as smoking, drinking, tatooing his body, and piercing his nose behind. And not to mention all those smart answers he had during interviews. He's one funny guy too. He's all I want in a guy. :love:

Second is his music. If all the traits above without his talents in music would be 35% incomplete package.:bleh:

For me his looks is only a plus, b'coz he has the small eyes and nice bod. So... I didn't really fall for his looks. But his look helps too. :wink2:

see... i started out with hongkie music (Jacky cheung) but then it soon wore off; HK msic industry SUCKS now.
after a couple of yrs in Sydney, i stop listening to chinese music completely except the occasional a-mei-songs. hehehhe.
then my bestfriend went back to Malaysia and got some pirated cds and one of it was Jay's. she left it there for about 3 mths before i took it out and play it. i didnt know anything about this dude who croon so well to the song khe ai nue ren; i was in love with the melody, then the voice and it kept going for mths before i asked my friend for the cover. i needed to put a face to the songs that have accompanied me trhough so many lonely nites. but i roughly had a picture of him in my head through my imagination :blush: my friend told me he's ugly (she likes ppl like F4; so u can understand why) and told me not bother... i searched high and low for the album cover and found it; i wasnt dissapointed but i he wasnt bad. i love it and then came the research, and most importantly, when i learnt that he writes his songs!!!!!!! :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: THAT WAS IT!!!!!!!!! I WAS HOOKED!!!!!!
to me, he has brought his quality music to yet another level; he has personalised his music, no other asian singers can match (besides David Tao). Then the second album, and i saw his semi-nude pics... heheh :wacko: ive been a die-hard fan ever since. hehehhe. sorry if i sound perverted.
because of jay; i told my dad jokingly that my ambition is to marry jay, my 2nd ambition is to marry a taiwanese jay-lookalike and u can imagine my dad's horror: "My daughter's 24 and after al the education; she's an idol-worshipper. heheheh :oops:
well... what can i say? i'm still sane and lead a pretty healthy life besides my closet fantasies to meet jay...

For me, it was his music. Although my manderin isn't that good, and I don't understand all of his lyrics, just by listening to his harmonies and melodies I can grasp what the concept of what the song was about. That is very amazing about Jay's music that I absolutely admire.

Then I fell in love w/ his looks, the more I looked at him the more handsome he became!! Then after going to his concert and seeing him perform live, especially seeing him play the piano...that almost made me cry!

Haha, and after I learned more about him, and about his modest personality and his work ethics...how hard working he was...that just made me love him more!!

A great, lovable personality to go with handsome looks and to top is off, beautiful music...what more can I ask for?!

i first paid attention to jay cos my friend wrote the ba, wo huai lai le lyrics on my notebook n rapped it for me, and i found it very interesting. so i downloaded his songs and found them very nice, but i just left it at there..

it was only after learning of his shy personality that i started getting crazy over jay. because, i felt that it would be hard for him to survive by being unable to attract attention being so quiet.. furthermore, i am also shy like him, so...

jie lun don have the greatest voice in the industry(i can hear the protest already...ha2) but his voice makes the songs he sings alive and addictive. yeah, addictive to a point of no return...

Yep...its become way too much targeted at young fans. It doesnt take much talent to become famous and there is a constant stream of new people who have one hit and disappear, leaving their 'fans' to move onto the next random who comes along. Thats why Jays a refreshing change to the canto music I had always listened to. I still listen to cantonese songs..but just occasional ones that I like. Jays music will always be great because hes actually got talent! Hehe....

Yeah I liked Jay for his music first too. I never got tired of listening to his songs. I was amazed by his talent, especially since there was so many Chinese artists I didn't think much of.

I never thought Jay was ugly, but I remember people always saying, "Yeah. He's good, but he's ugly." And back then I didn't defend him, I'll just say, "... I think he looks...ok. But it doesn't matter how he looks, he's GOOD."

I didn't realize how cute Jay is and how adorable he acts until I heard about his Las Vegas concert. Then I did more research on him. And after attending his concert I totally fell in love with him.

So I love how Jay is such an all-around great person. Even if he didn't look as hot as he does, I would still love him because he acts so cutely, he's such a sweetie, and his voice is so beautiful and soothing.

Anyways....when i first start to like him I can't believe I'm the one who say he's not handsome---I was so blind---anyways at that time my friend say he doesn't look that all handsome but if he put up some makeup and dress up nicely he looks cool..sexy..lol...

I think now Jay looks so cute and handsome maybe because of his hairstyle.....but I like that old hairstyle ( the one in LiLxAmMiE's banner)...

firstly, i heard the "hui dao guo qu" song on the radio and i thought "hey that's a great song" and i dled the mp3. and then i started dling his other songs. after a while, i started wanting to find out more about jay so i searched the web and i fell in love with his personality. shy, soft-hearted and shuai all at the same time. and talented as well. haha who could resist that?

My cousin introduced me to Jay, but when i saw what he looked like I was like "hmm so what i've seen better" and i discarded the cd. See one should never judge book by it's cover.
Then i actually listened to the cd one nite, and wow i was totally blown away by his voice and emotions. i totally fell in luv.
so it was his music that drew me in, and now i think he's the hottest guy on earth.

ok ...i remember back like two yrs ago every one of my chinese girlfriends(even the guys!actually....come to think of it,it was more hoo hah from my guy frnds :laughing: )were talking abt a so called rnb chinese singer in the classroom.it sounded like "ni men che tao ma,jay this....jay that......bla bla bla ....ta hen diao.....taiwan te la!!)

ok!so i know the guy was somewhat named jay but i couldnt be bothered so i just listen to them yapping all abt him since i really had nothing to do but to join them.

after a while they told me this very jay was coming to town for a concert and that they are going and seems that tickets are nearly sold out.heck i was thinking "whats the deal with this jay man?"back at that time i was totally secluding myself to only english streams like of britney moffatts christina eminem limp bizkit and i just couldnt see jay's light.not until.......

somewhere last yr,i began opening up myself to my chinese roots.i started hearing chinese music ...listening to the likes of she, coco, ....actually it all started with the winter sonata movie.from listening to korean music,all of a second i began to also give in to chinese music.so one day when i bought the pirated cd of the soundtrack of the movie,i came across another cd which compiled 4 chinese male singers-tao ze,richie ren,jay chou and the guy who sang "sephia".i was saying since my frnds like jay so much i really wanted to check his stuff out.

i listen to his music.his voice.everything.ok.i like his sound.its not like what i thought.it wasnt 'calafare' music at all.he has the rnb feel to it.it was unique.of chinese n western sound!great!this guy is talented,whatsoever u called it!all i know is the fella can strut his stuff well!then i began finding all info abt him from everywhere (frnds....internet....vcd .... cd....)the first taste i got from him was probably pirated but then after all the digging abt him,i can say that all his stuff i bought was the ORIGINAL!!couldnt get enough of him.

as i look at him more and more....i began to realise that i actually liked him also becos i liked a guy for 5 yrs who coincidentally looked like jay!seriously my frnds thinks he looked like jay too....n he actually listens to jay also!so probably he actually stole jay's look since they do share resemblance at the eye(small),height(my crush is 5'9....a little taller than jay)passion for basketball,and duh.....the haircut !!!!so alike(complete with sideburns and all)

but one things for sure,jay is definitely "the one" and the diao-ist of all the jay look-alikes! :laughing:

the first time my fren let me hear his cd, i thought it sucked. then he came out with fantasy, and i still thought it sucked cos i have bad hearing and it just sounded like music and background singing with no lead singer. ba du kong jian was worse, it sounded like a 46 min song to me cos all the tracks were similar the first hearing. so i despised him and couldn't stand to hear my fren gush about him.

then one day, for no good reason, i had a dream. in the dream, jay chou was introduced to me as my cousin's fren. i went, yah right, you dun look like him loh. jay just smiled and started singing shi jie mo ri softly. you guys can probably how i felt in the dream, i was amazed and touched and blown away by him. when i woke up, i was a converted jay-fanatic. i'm just lucky my sub-conscious has better taste than me, and i thank my imagination for such clear images, i could almost feel his breath.

of cos, my fren never fails to gloat over my humble admittance to jay's greatness... jay, you're The One!

it's true! the thing about the dream is that it was one of those dream that you remember even after you woke up, and keeps popping up in your head reminding you, just like jay's songs and their uncanny ability to wind themselves in your head and not let go.
i'm pretty fussy about music, so jay is one of the few artists i like, and he is the only one for me now. maybe i sound pretty head-in-the-clouds, but i seriously like him a lot. i tell you, i didn't even know wat he looked like when he smiles b4 the dream, but i was captivated by his smile in it, and i was on a mad search when i woke up to find out if he really looks so cute smiling. And he did. So now he's all i think about, talk about, hear, and see. i'm driving everyone nuts, but who cares about them, jay is all it matters! :).

then when I bought the Fantasy Plus VCDs and watched the MVs I was being drawn into him even more. The MV that made me LOVE him was Dui Bu Qi because I thought he looked maddd hott singing in that styleof his....(which of course he does! ^_^) He grew on me even more when I got a better idea of what he was like as a person-- shy, quiet and really someone I could relate to. He seemed like an average guy with an adorable personality (and he wasn't hard on the eyes either!) hahaha ok ok well there's my two cents ^___^

I like his MUSIC first....and me not understanding mandarin and all really speaks volumes for his music style eh? The fact that he composes his own songs and for other ppl got me interested....When I found out he plays the piano..."Hook, Line, and Sinker"...I fell for him..
I think he's a really talented musician...

me and my room mate agreed that jay looks er..."not visually stimulating" at first, we just bought his CD cuz we liked his songs...
Then we went to his concert and we were like...man, he's really cool...awww.....so shy.....aw.....he brought his mum.....so i guess 2ndly i like his PERSONALITY

then i joined this forum and the rest, as they say is history...he looks really good from certain angles....so it's LOOKS last... :oops:

i first got to know him thru "duo niu", i just love the different styles of that songs to any other mando songs i heard that time..... i din't even know who sang it at first..... coz i did catch a glimpse of his videoclip and i personally dun really like guys with curly hair :dry: dunno why, just my weird taste i guess ( he looks so so so much better wif straight hair!)
and i didn't think he's quite good looking that time too...

Ok, the truth, I was attracted to his unique attitude at first...cause the first MV I ever saw of him was Shuang Jie Gun and they were showing it on MTV Asia which hardly ever shows chinese MVs and i caught the ONLY time they showed nunchucks...so I was lucky. Later on I kept on thinking who was that extreamly cool guy rapping on tv? Then after a some time of searching, it was the performance at the MTV Asia Awards...there's that guy again!!! And his name, Jay chou. His dioness was undeniable.

Jay's music made me stay a fan...At first, I thought he looked abit weird ...and kinda goofy looking... but once you get used to his looks he's quite good looking.

His Talent and and confidence in what he does is attractive.

the first time i heard Jay chou, i didn't think nething cool, but then wen i heard more of his b..e..a..u..tiful voice...hmmm i guess it just clicked! rite there and then, i knew he had a special talent of vocals and beats. I really like his songs, even though my friend does NOT totally understand mandarin, he mumbles* so yeah she cannot tell what the heck Jchou is saying, but i don't really care. I just know that he has a nice voice of serenade and I really like it!!! You could fall in love with his voice! heheheh, well yeah! Very nice, much props.

Chinese is a beatiful language, but Jay can make it sound even more beatiful!

Don't call me shallow, but it was his looks.

Someone(in a forum) recommended "simple love mv" download, so i gave it a try. He was "drop dead gorgeous" there, no kidding. Then, i realised, "this is a great song". I loved his voice(killer voice), style of singing that is so unique to any other chinese singers i know. I mean, he offered the whole package, looks and talents. So after doing much research, i realised that he wrote all his songs in his album and that definitely won me over.

I bought "the one" concert cd, and that sealed the deal for me. He sang, the song live so beautifully.

i am not one of those to join forums, but i just feel like i really need to tell the rest of the world (not just friends) how great he is.

LOL, no I won't call you shallow. Jay does look adorable in that MV. (I'm still jealous with the girl in the MV though :crazy: ) glad that you finally find someone who's not only gorgeous, but talented, and genius as well, huh.

I actually do invite you to surf through all the forum and just see how many Jay discussion you could jump into. So interesting, trust me!!! :happy:

his music definitely! i didn't even know jay chou existed till i heard a couple of his songs at my friend's place. i think they were "kai bu liao kou" and "hei se you muo". after that i started to check out all his songs. i really liked jay's soothing voice. i was actually out of the loop for a while in terms of chinese music, but jay brought me back. i can't recall listening to a singer's music for such a long time and still want to hear more. jay's creations are timeless.

anyway, getting off track... >.< i decided to look up the lyrics and found them to be amazingly written! the depth and breadth of topics was something i haven't noticed in other chinese artists. not to mention all the songs were written by him! that blew me away! simply haven't heard such musical talent before. :bow: and then i found out about his music videos. i thought they were really creative and well shot. haven't seen such good productions considering all the cheesy lovey-dovey and unimaginative stuff that dominates the HK pop scene.

i started to read up on jay to find out more info about him, so i got attracted to his personality... his shyness, straightforwardness, laidback style, caring nature, daring to be different, creativity, etc.... i think it's rare that there's a singer who's such a "good boy" these days and so down-to-earth (doesn't drink, smoke, chooses to live with mom instead of on his own, etc.). and i really admire his dedication to his music. a lot of people in the industry care more about making money and do the whole song/movie/TV combo. but jay's passion in music holds first place in his heart. :sing:

as for looks, i have to admit i didn't think he was gorgeous or anything when i first saw pics of him. actually, i thought that he looked different in various pics and it was hard to judge what he REALLY looked like. =P but now that i'm used to his looks, i have to say that he's getting cuter each time i see him. i think it's just his "diao" style, making him ever so cool. with his latest album, i think he's gonna carve an even bigger name for himself!! :yeah: all the new stuff he tried was just so diao beyond belief and too awesome for words. i'm already anticipating his next album! heehee...

jay's music was definitely what got me hooked. there are so many artists out there who are just there because of their looks. Take F4 for instance... don't get me wrong i love them too but they are seriously lacking in the music department. i remember i first heard jay's song "simple love" on a chinese radio station and i loved the song. then i found out that he composed his own songs. whenever an artist composes their own music, i respect them deeply. so yeah, music pulled me in. i also liked his shy personality. something about shy guys.. :) but i still dont think jay's all that cute (sorry please don't kill me), but his music is the best i've ever heard and i know he'll be around for a long time.

I first noticed Jay for his song [星晴] and I didn't think much of him back then. Thought he was just one of those chinese rappers / R&B artistes who have been flooding the Taiwan market. Gradually, he started coming up with many albums and friends around me kept recommending his songs to me.

I was still skeptical. It wasn't until I came across the [Making of his 八度空间 album] video that I realized what a deep person he was. He didn't exactly do much in the video.

But I thought it was a side of Jay that I saw, which I never saw in a lot of celebrities these days. Jay has this very sincere side of him, which he never displays in public, in his interviews with the media. It's a very intimate side of him, I guess. :blush:

I envy his workmates coz' I'm sure they really enjoy themselves working with someone like Jay. :icecream:

hmm jay caught my attention with his music, and then i watched his mvs and i grew to think that he was somewhat cute, and now i think he's really cute lol. i don't know much about his personality so i guess it hasn't really played a role in my liking jay.

i've just recently discovered him while waching MTV mandarin. i saw "in the name of the father" and i noticed how angsty he was there. then i tried downloading some of his songs, and liked it!

now, i'm very much impressed with how much he has to offer...so much talent: songwriting, can play the piano, guitar and CELLO (which happens to be my fave instrument).

i'm predicting that i'll be following his career from now on. :yeah:

oh man definitely the music first...i first heard "kai buh liao koh" on an asian avenue site. then my friend let me borrow the cds and i was immediately hooked! so then i serached for websites online and saw some older pictures of him and thought he was average, but then i found more sites and listened to more of his music...and now...WHOO YEAH I'M OBSESSED!

i'm glad that i liked his music first since that shows that he is a true musician and not just another "pretty boy" out there.

Then I read this article in an old copy of Time magazine (featuring him on the cover) that was lying around, and was rather impressed....I mean I find it impressive that he writes most of his songs!

First and foremost, Jay is a musician !
So his music was what brought him to my attention. There is just this weird thing about him, it may be his name or something, I cant really put a finger on it, but his music is just amazing !
I was hooked on Fantasy in like 2 days ! His voice, compositions, talent is mesmerising !

i discovered the great Jay Chou on the MTV Asia awards. i heard hin sing Long Quan and i was hooked. the song would get into my head and i'd be singing it all day. so i burned a couple of tunes to see how i liked them. (i of course bought the cd's later)

it wasnt tll about 2 weeks after that i really got to SEE him. i looked him up on the puter and saw loads of pics.( most courtesty of j-c.net) That was when i realized how incredibly attractive he is.

It's all about the music ya'll. He's got a very original sound, and he is an extremely talented songwriter and lyricist. His ability to combine multiple genres of music into a single song, and have them flow flawlessly, is not and easy ability to master. I could care less what the guy looks like or acts like, but his music alone is what makes me dig this guy. I wish he had more exposure here in the US.

The first time I saw Jay was in a HK music award show online. I was impressed because he was the ONLY singer who could sing live in the show! And his style was really different. I was addicted to his music rightaway and started to search for his music online. Now I think he's the greatest musician (combination of singer/songwriter/lyricist) to grace the Chinese entertainment scene ever. I was really getting sick of Chinese pop music because my favorite styles are Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B and there was simply nobody who'd incorporate all of those styles into their music nicely. I like Wang Leehom but his style is different. Anyways, I think it's really great that Jay doesn't try to use a lot of English words and phrases in his songs like many of the Asian singers who're trying to copy the Western-style Hip-hop/Rap.

I don't really care for his looks though. What's with the hair constantly in his eyes? I don't like his hairstyle at all. I wonder who "designs" his hairstyles. His eyes are small enough without his hair covering them. Seriously, he'd looked so much livelier and attractive with his hair combed back or just cut shorter. I can't stand guys with hair in their eyes! But what can I do? Jay also looks sweet and cute at the same time. Just do something about the hair...

As for his personality, I can't really say, because I don't know him in person, so how would I know? We can't just jump to conclusion and think that we know what his personality is like from the news and articles. That's his IMAGE, not his personality. He's portrayed to be shy and quiet, yet cool and confident at the same time. I think that's a good image.

Anyways, the conclusion is: Jay's music is the best.

i start noticing jay in this award show..i think it's the golden melody awards...he was playing the piano and singing 'ke ai nu ren'.. i thought the tune was quite catchy..and jay looked diao playing and singing at the same time..i was thinking 'wha..who's this guy ah' (later then i know it's zhou jie lun) but i never really saw jay's face, only his side profile..then for some time i forgot about that diao performer..it was when i heard 'shanghai 1943' that i decided to buy his album..the first album that i bought is the one concert vcd..i got immersed in his music..he's such a great performer...from there i bought his first album..then his 8th dimension album..then all is history

His music...Actually, his creativity and his talent in music. I just admire his ability of composing great sets of lyrics with great arrangements of tunes and beats. He can convey the meaning of the lyrics in his melody. His songs are emotionally well-expressed. and I feel that he is the FIRST and the ONLY musician whose songs never make me bored. Maybe it's just me...

And I admire the way Jay goes into the world of stardom. Not by using his looks, but by REAL musical talents. That's how musician should be. Not like F4 who I think are better off in modelling (sorry for F4 fan).

Oh yeah..and his coolness. Yay...nice to see his coolness.

his looks come last i guess because really, like katon said, he's not really all that handsome especially when compared to other artists. but hey, i love him all the same :love:

I fell in love with his music first. Then I saw his picture, and he was cute to me. I'm in Canada, where it's not easy to get his stuff, but my friends knew i liked him and got his calendar and vmp's for me. I fell in love with him even more. I also printed many of his pictures off the net into posters and hung them in my room. Is that a little crazy?I pretty much first fell in love with his music before I got to see him.

When i first heard about him which was quite late when he released Kai Bu Liao Kou because my friend kept singing that particular song so i was curious on who sang the song so i kept investigating :D

So i guess his songs attracted me to start liking him because he is soooo unique and has his own individual style, which i like :laughing: and im catching up with what i have missed such as his first album and getting to know more about him from jay-chou.net due to members posting news about him every day :excited:

secondly, i think his personality shines for him too and lastly his looks :love:

ez! definately his singing :) the first time i ever heard him sing was when i was out wif a bunch of my guy mates and we were in da car... and they were playing chinese music (dat i can't understand) but the tune of a few in particular caught my attention! (turned out to be simple love, love before century and tornado) so i asked them what song was playing each time i heard those .. and whose da singer, and boy could i pick it out! all jay ones i liked (the rest were other asian singers i dunno til diz day!) :bleh:

from then on i checked out his lyric translations, downloaded mp3s, and i've been given all his original cds as pressents ever since! hehe luv his musical talents, and his looks help too kekek :love:

Of course me too. Well I didn't really love his songs the first time I hear them cause when I hear the songs (I think it's his first album) it wasnt that great, well I didn't hear the good ones. I heard some not so good ones. Then I saw Jay in the TV and he was singing "cannot Speak". I loved that song and later then I go to buy his albums.
Good music doesn't have to be produce form good looking people.

Definetly his music... he's so talented and "deep". But that's what I admire about an artist... they actually are an artist because they write their own music and produce their own ablums. actually i thought he was freakish the first time i saw his foto (fantasy album cover) cos he was like all hair and no eyes :crazy: ......actually i had already heard his songs (which were being played in this mall) but i didnt know it was jay cos i was still listening 2 english songs at tt time.....and i didnt think tt the "hairy guy" could produce high quality music lor :wacko: ....so didnt link them tog. but tot his songs were really nice (duh) so i began asking around who was the guy who was singing those songs lor....then when they said it was zhou jie lun i was lyk oh my god! couldnt really take his looks at first cos his hair was so permed :glug: ....but got used 2 it after a while (especiallly after he got rid of the "permy" look) ugh im crapping. so it's his music tt got me addicted at first.....but now it's attitude, looks PLUS music :D

The first Jay song I heard was Kai Bu Liao Kou. That was relatively long ago. I liked it the first time I heard it, but I didn't go and check out more about him. After hearing a few more of his songs, I went to the official website to find out more, and eventually came here, where I started to learn much more about him and his music.

So I guess the music side of Jay made me start to like him. And then it was the personality, then the looks. I'm not saying the looks are bad, just that his music is much more attractive.

I know almost everyone also liked his musical talent, and even he himself admits that it is his music that has made him so popular.

I really don't know why people tend to say that Jay's looks aren't really that good. Seriously, I really think he looks good. I don't understand why some people say that he looks ugly. They always say that he doesn't really look handsome but his music is good and so on. I personally think he looks great. Perhaps everyone has their own likings, eh? :wink2:

I think its mostly people living in the US and other countries that like to say that he doesn't look good. I think its probably because he has a chinese look.. and mostly the chinese would say he looks good.

I admire almost every part of him. I think he has the best singing voice in the music industry. I admire his talent in music and song composing,

Also, about HK music. I personally don't quite like it. Sometimes it even sounds annoying to me. Perhaps because it is old fashioned and people nowadays prefer R&B to all those other music.

Back to topic, I personally never regretted finding out more on Jay. I've learnt many values from him and many other things. I guess my life would have been an extremely boring one if not for him. He has really inspired me to do many things. He has inspired me with his style, his personality and his looks. I would probably be very different if not for him. Thanks Jay. :wink2:

Actually, he wasn't extremely goodlooking, until the Yehuimei or even probably the eighth dimension, but he definitely looked better and better...

It started with his second cd, while listening to the radio, i started to like his songs, but no one in my class was interested in his songs yet, cuZ they seldom listened to chinese songs, but I was the only one saying, "the only one that could compete with stefanie sun is jay chou!"

because at one point of time, stefanie sun won jay chou, until he reached his third album, then I found out ALL about his personalities, and I found it so unique and straight.
