Hmm, I've been thinking of spicing up the thai forums with some interactions, or something like that. As I was occupied reading "Lonely planet: Thailand", something comes across my mind in sudden flash.

Let me test the native thais (here) to see how good (or bad) you know about your country. There'll be a set of 10 questions stated below, which are some of the general facts of Thailand. So everyone, do join in the fun and participate now!

Noted: This is just a trivia quiz, so just answer based on your knowledge. No point scoring full marks by searching the correct answers from the Internet. It serves you no purposes in the end. Play clean, all for the fun of it!

No, so it's illegal to conduct such acts in Thailand.

Red, Blue and Green. The red phones are for local city calls, the blue phones are for both local and long-distance calls (within Thailand) and the green ones are use with phonecards.

I swear I don't know much about Thailand can say my country :shy: but I will do my best haha ermm.. I still have about three day to answer all that 10 points :oops: I need to sleep first, it really takes up my memory to re-think of the society exam when I was in high school lol

Anyway, it's a good idea to test us like this.. I hate you.

1. In what year did the elected government of Thailand gain its first democracy to power? I don't know :tongue:

2. State the capital of Thailand. This captial was established in what year and by who? Bangkok and I don't know what year and I'm not sure who hmm.. I think he is the first King :whistle:

3. Feet & Head :
a) Is it true that never touch any part of someone else's body with your foot, which in some way violate the traditons or cultural practise of the thais? True !

b) Does that apply to the head as well? ermm.. yes ! because we believe that foot is the lowest part, the lowest object, the bad part but the head is oppsite.

4. Where did Nakhon Ratchasima Province located in, which part of Thailand? Northern East of Thailand

5. Phuket is also known as what in the tourist industry? -- I don't get what the question is about :worry: Paradise ?!

6. Which province is tipped as the northernmost province in Thailand? ChiengRai

7. In bangkok, there's a Skytrain elevated-rail network known as BTS. What does BTS stand for? Bangkok Mass Transit System

8. The nation-wide Thais celebrate this grand occasion in August. What is this occasion? National Mother's day

9. Fill in the blank:
A Temple is a Buddhist compound where men or women can ordined as monks or nuns.

10. Which famous city in Thailand is a major transport hub for travel around southern Thailand and between Thailand-Malaysia? Phuket !? I never go south except that province haha

Sean - Look up in the Lonely Planet guide book and you will see the name of my Aunt's guest house. It is famous for coffee and the teakwood house....... Just look up and give me the answer.

This was so embarassing. I only got 4. lol. That really represent how good I know about my country... which is almost a nimus actually. Making my way to work is hard enough. lol.

Hey, I try to set a quiz, let say on next week. I'll be occupied throughout this week so that really leave me with no time to set a quiz. At the meanwhile, I suggest that everyone read up or do some research... :dry:
