How many of you have introduced Jay Chou's music to "older" relatives and friends? As in, people you wouldn't suspect to be into it on their own.

For a few years my mama had either heard Jay's songs or me singing them almost every day... Eventually I had to burn her copies of my CDs, because she kept taking mine without permission and leaving them in her car stereo! To the best of my knowledge, her favorite songs are Niang Zi and Xing Qing... To my happiness, I got her to teach me to play Niang Zi a while back on my own guitar... Of course, it'd sound a lot nicer if I had the special kind of guitar that's used in the song... Just forgot the name of it. =\

Mind you, she doesn't understand a word of Mandarin (though ironically enough, it's through her side of the family I get my 1/8 of Chinese blood). Well, maybe a few words... How should I know?

I was listening to the Jay Album tonight and she just walked past my room... I heard her singing along to Dou Niu, and felt proud enough to make this thread... lol

My mom doesn't think Jay's sexy, but she thinks he's pretty cute. She says he looks like what she calls a "Red China" boy, which is basically, he looks like he's from mainland China, instead of Taiwan. Yep, she thinks he's adorable in this shy boy kind of way.

Let's see... My mom listens to his music almost as much as me. Of course, she doesn't really have a choice since I play his music every where I go, but she likes it as much as I do. She really gives him props for rapping so well, especially after reading the TIME article. Her favorite song is An Jing with Ku Ai Nu Ren, Xing Qing, and An Hao coming in second.

She is so in love with An Jing, she made me burn a CD with only that song on it, so she could listen to it over and over again. She's determined to memorize the lyrics to the song. She's even happy I'm learning how to play it on the piano... :D

Last night, when I went to turn off The One Live CD to go to sleep, she looked at me and asked, "What, you're not going to listen to it before we go to sleep?" It really surprised me that she would want to listen to if even after I wanted to.

And of course, the perk to all of this is, I've gotten her interested enough that she's promised to take me to a Jay concert if we have the opportunity in the future. Oh heck yea.

So, you see, my mom really is crazy cool. She might not kick everyone's mom to the dust, but she rocks for liking Jay. ^_^

But, if you listen to .. "Ni Bi Cong Qian Kuai Le" at the VERY beginning, you can hear Jay making a funny panting noise. Boggled for weeks about this particular noise, I asked my mom what Jay was doing.

She looked at me like I was crazy and replied, "Well, he's laughing, of course. Can't you tell?"

My mother loves Ba Wo Hui Lai Lek, Ban Sau Ren and Ren Zhe so much she even sings them almost everyday. She also said that jay's lip is sexy, and that he has a good body... Recently she said that Jay looks very tired in "qing tian" video.

Let's see, my mom thinks Jay is an asian hoodlum with all his rappings and think he's drunk because she can't understand him and he mumbles and sounds drowsy to her. My mom also thinks Jay lacks a lot of fashion and needs help. She did however see my panasonic wallpaper of Jay semi-nude and commented that he had no shame "typical of an asian thug" but had a nice body.

Oooh and not to mention when jay sports his little "bling bling" or "ice" around his neck... that sure got my mom laughing and scowling at the same time. But in general she's fine with Jay. "At least he doesn't cuss dearest" <--- mum's exact words. So not sexy exaclty heheh.

Well I was watching the interview between Leehom and Jay at the 16th GMA's, right when she was in my room talking to my sister. So I was watching it and it started to interest her.
