Well, it seems like after the crazed and frantic downloading of Dou Yu and Mars, i needed something to fill the downloading void in my life
So, i turned to my latest obsession - taiwanese talk shows.
Namely Kang Xi Lai Le (hosted by xiao s and kang yong) and ASOS (hosted by da s and xiao s)
though im sure there are many other great talkshows that i haven't ah, explored yet....

these shows are HILARIOUS
and a must see for all wannabe gossip queens/kings.... :angel:

so anyway, i decided to start up this thread so that fellow obsessees(?) like myself can gossip to our hearts content! :-)

share the trivia that you guys find out from the shows!!
and gush about whatever droolsome guest that went on!!! :-)
(and then if possible list the date/other info so that others *coughMEcough* can go get their hands on it too..... :-)

Okay...I'll start by saying that there was this episode of Kang Xi that I watched, Xiao S inisinuated that Jay was "Tai".....
i'm not too sure what that means, but i think it means country bumpkin-ish????
the story goes: lan zheng long (shan zi in dou yu, ya men in MG) was driving both da s and xiao s back home, and he played this popular singer's CD at full blast....
and got accused by xiao s for being "tai"!!!
xiao s looked menacingly at him on the show to threaten him not to reveal the name of the singer.....and also pleaded with him not to.... :angel:
in the end, he whispered it to kang yong the other male host, who nonchalantly said "how is it that Dong Feng Po is tai???" :laughing:

and by the way, lan zheng long looks really HOT in that episode of kang xi....

omg, Roche. You really started a thread on this. Oh, you missed out "Happy Sunday" in your mentions. Personally, I think Happy Sunday is alot nicer than ASOS (why is it called ASOS? What does the "A" in the ASOS stands for since SOS stands for Sisters of Xsu) since they dedicated the whole hour of their show to the special guest and sometimes they have really eye-candy good friends of the special guest attending the show as well and I love dirt-dishing. And who else can supply better dirt than their good pals, right?

There was this episode of Jerry Yen in Happy Sunday and much as I prefer zaizai over him, he looks real good. Oh and I didn't know that Jerry Yen is so thrifty. Hahaha! Even Jay thinks that way. And there was this mention of Jay as well. I don't know how to describe it here but Liu Geng Hong did a pretty good job when he imitated Jay when he said, "Err... ta hui bu hui hen na ge?"

Oh, and the part where Jerry wrote in the autograph book of this senior that he had a crush on? Cute. He wrote one whole chunk of was it lyrics that he copied from? and then he ended off with "Tell you a little secret. I like you. (Really)". Muhahah. Yes, he even put the "Really" in brackets. And boy is he cute when he blushed.

Oh my... I really need to go home and check out the dates for all these wonderful episodes that I've caught so far. And Yes people, go catch the episode of Kang Xi Lai Le with Lan Zheng Long as the guest. It's hilarious and Lan Zheng Long is soooooo droolsome!

ooh i'm a big fan of Kang Xi Lai Le. Watch it every night. Xiao S and Cai Kang Yong has gotta be one of the best hosting partners. They can even make 'not-so-interesting' guests say stuff that makes it so funny. and the guests have no qualms about saying anything off their minds on their show. Like Xiao Zhu who imitated Jay countless times, Sun Xiezhi (of 5566) who was talking about how proud he felt when he was photographed with his hands in his pants on his balcony one night coz only big stars like Brad Pitt got photographed in such positions. It was hilarious!!! :laughing:

Oh yes, I loved Kang Xi Lai Le too.. I mean, Xiao S and Tsai Kang Yong is like the most hilarious partners I had ever seen after Happy/Super Sunday's groups. It's not really a matter of who they are interviewing, but it's the way how they made the show 'alive'. I like the part where Nic Tse was invited to their show and Xiao S could be so crazy enough to talk of the ways to fart.. :D that really makes me laugh like hell..

And another show that I liked as well is The Talks between Two generations, it's more like a forum/debate thingy where everyone discuss about the hottest issues around the world. Again Tsai Kang Yong host the show.. it's quite good.. :D

i used to dislike kang yong - i thought he looked like a peverted middle aged man who dresses in really wierd suits to try to look young :angel:

then after i started watching kang xi more, i started to appreciate his humor and look beyond his appearance.....
though i really don't get why he's got to wear the suits with the random patches of no smoking signs and whatnot on them.....

i think kang xi and happy sunday are both entertaining, but in their own ways....
kang xi is usually funnier, since they just chat about random stuff
though since its xiao s it usually ends up being very "A" as she puts it....she manages to somehow talk about sex no matter who the guest is!

happy sunday is more.....emotional? i guess....
coz they usually find old lovers or friends or teachers or whoever to come on the show...and there's a mini reunion of sorts....
and i guess we get to find out a little more about the past lives of their guests

i gotta say though i think i prefer kang xi just coz it cracks me up :angel:

just watched the episode with the 4 top (?) taiwanese models - lin zhi ling etc
lin zhi ling was talking about how when she first wore a g string, she wore it the wrong way around!!! thought that was hilarious....yet i can see how that mistake could have been made?

for me, I prefer happy sunday, will always watch those episodes with young artistes/idols, it just reveals more of what we know about them.
As for Kang Xi, I find the show a bit short and sometimes they switch abruptly from topics to topics but quite interesting also. I like Xiao S's way of hosting and I think there is a different kind of chemistry between she and Cai Kang Yong.

u know i also have wondered and still wondered what does ASOS stand for? it's probably a stupid question but i honestly have no clue..
well on my tv i get to watch, ASOS, happy sunday, guess guess guess, go go go , and that show hosted by 5566-i have no idea what it;s called.

i wanna watch kang xi so bad but i don;t know where to find it. ASOS i think is good for news i guess cuz they always have entertainment news. happy sunday is definately more emotional like u said roche i mean ppl are either laughing or crying. but i just recently saw the zaizai and da s happy sunday, it was pretty good except they totally only had about 20 minutes about ZZ than they told him to sit down.
as for guess guess guess..its good sometimes.
but u know what was pretty funny is one show that is hosted by the same guy from guess guess guess and go go go (wu zhong shin-excuse my poor pinyin) -he like plays pranks on celebrities and he tells this really ugly girl (ru hua) to like massage celebrities and say the funniest things and she always manages to get a pantyhose on her head..and she's so ugly that it's funny.

i read somewhere that ASOS stands for Abnormal Sisters Of Shiu. i think. sounds likely though, doesnt it? and i like ASOS's show, plus Dee's own show, but i cant remember what it's called. argh... oh well. they have the best guests on there. :D

zaizai rox you mean Jacky Wu Zong Xian.....he's hilarious, but does more slapstick humour.

Kang Yong keeps the show alittle sane and tries to steer the topic back to 'proper' grounds whenever Xiao S is going on and on about her "A" topics and how wonderful she is. Its hilarious that she insists on having a box to stand on whenever there are tall and pretty models on the show, and then screams at the camera man for filming her standing on the box. :laughing:

Happy Sunday's too emotional for me, and it seems like the guest they have aren't always the more interesting ones, as compared to KXLL....

i think guess guess guess can be kinda funny, but if you're watching for the sake of seeing a particular artiste, then there's actually not much interaction time with him/her....
and zaizairox - i think you're talking about jacky wu, jay's ex boss!!!! i don't like him though....he seems funny in sorta an offensive manner somehow...
as in, his jokes tend to be more blunt/forward/offensive to the target of his jokes...?
maybe its just me.

Roche, it's Happy Sunday, not KXLL. Hahaha. You really watched too much of these entertainment shows at one go... that'll explain your confused state of mine. But boy, aren't these shows really addictive. And Xiao S is getting prettier each episode I watch. Anyway, I remembered that they mentioned that they were previously called Doo Bee Doo Waa and Xiao Yan Jie was saying that bands must not be named after Doo Waa since it'll never take off. Like Shu Bi Doo Wa (the band which Jacky Wu, Geng Hong and 2 or 3 others formed). But seriously, why would anyone name a band Doo Wa? Wouldn't that sound childish?

zaizai_rox: I caught of few episodes of the Jacky Wu show with Ru Hua massaging the celebrities' too. Yeah, it was really funny but I always wonder if the artistes already knows about it beforehand. Coz to tell the truth, Ru Hua's acting is not very convincing and there are times when she'll burst out laughing or smiling while trying to "seduce" the artistes.

angels on clouds: But I thought the artistes who appear in KXLL will also usually appear in Happy Sunday. I mean, those more interesting artistes. They'll usually attend these shows during the promotional period of their albums or tv series. Like, Lan Zheng Long (yes, I'm still gushing about him), zaizai, Da S, Dylan Guo... etc.. wait, or maybe not. Coz I just remembered that Jay appeared in KXLL but not Happy Sunday, Maybe he's afraid of having his liasons with Jolin dug up?

I'M HERE! :bounce: roche I downloaded that episode and although Lan Zheng was HOT I didn't fall as madly in love with him as you and Anne predicted :rolleyes:. I found him quite rude actually, the way he talks to Da S's family (or at least what Xiao S said about him, hehe) and he did seem to love whisky a lot, lol. Still, he grows on you and by the end of the show I found myself smiling at his imitation o a girl (and if you ever catch me acting like that, I'll eat my beret) Conclusion: If he had any other hairstyle other the one on that ep of Kang Xi Lai Le, he'd go back into my little black book of ugly males :-)
Gosh, I think I'm developing an addiction to these shows too! But for now I'm only interested in the ones Xiao S and/or Da S hosts. I love Xiao S, she's so loud and confident and funny, it's just refreshing to see her in action.

Well that's not the worse that it has gotten to. There was one episode where she talked about this "A" film that she watched called "snow white and the 7 dwarves" where they even had those behind-the-scenes stuff and she thought that was such a 'meaningful' flick, although it was erm...porn. she isn't ashamed to admit that she does all these things and its really funny to watch Kang Yong's eyes open wide when she says it. :laughing:

For me, i've not watch Kang Xi Lai Le except for my very first time of watching it with Jay goin to the program... i think it's kinda a nice show but i think Happy Sunday is much better than that show... Happy Sunfay is more of entertaining then Kang Xi Lai Le since KXLL is basically a talk show with artistes... while Happy Sunday is more on some game show...

i watched one episode where he and he jun xiang and this other guy were on....
all 3 of them were models before, so one of the things they had to do was to change in this teensy makeshift dressing room.

I was able to catch on episode of KXLL but thanks to the cable operator who put Cti in a channel with technical difficulties :dry: they have to cancel Cti in our cable. So .. i'm now watching Happy Sunday and some 5566 programs.

Hehe, roche I've finished watching the KXLL episode with Zaizai and Geng Hong and, man, it was fantastic. (Sidenote: It was aired on 24th Jan 2004)
Geng Hong's haircut was funny but Zaizai was so cute, I loved how they dived into his personal life and it was SO hilarious when they said that he wears knickers and socks when he's at home. And when he imitated Geng Hong, wahaha, poor guy. Was it me or did Geng Hong look like h wasn't really enjoying himself? His smile looked kinda forced :(
Dammit! I wish F4 had a Meeting with fans in Aus! It was so cute when he said he found this one girl with white skin really pretty and he and (:rasp:) Ken gaped after her. LMAO and that game they played where they acted out their expressions after finding out their wife was sleeping with another man! :roll:
Aww, and he and Geng Hong have such adorable names for each other *sniff* Squealing happened when I heard that he puts Geng Hong as 'Skinny Boy Liu' and Zaizai is 'Strong Big Brother Zai' :laughing: I would kill to have Xiao S's job!!

errr.....well we could try starting one, but i doubt it'll last.
for one, the kang xi eps are really large
usually around 180mb
so that's why bit torrent's the easiest way to download

yousendits expire, and it'd be insane to briefcase everything.....

Oh man!!! Talking about KXLL, the last episode I caught was the one with Andy Lau's ex-gf. I find her such a bitch! Well... and somehow I just can't imagine Andy Lau peeling the pear for her and when she offered to share the pear with him, he said, "Bu, wo men bu ke yi fen li" which means we cannot share the pear but in chinese, it can also mean "no, we can't be apart." Which is real corny and can you imagine Andy Lau as such a corny person?? Duh! Though I'm no fan of Andy Lau, I hate people who kiss and tell, girls or guys... he seems to have some kind of insecurity complex, i find that xiao s constantly has to reassure him. like "xiao zhu, you're cute too, you're just not my type" when she gushes over the guest (eg. yang you ning)
or "xiao zhu, you're talented in music too, you just have a different style of singing" when she gushed over lee hom.

i guess my current peeve with him is just how he mutilated lee hom's song during the recent ASOS episode where lee hom was the guest.....

As for Xiao Zhu, I did not managed to watch Yu Le Bai Fen Bai on my cable tv, therefore I couldnt see how irritating he is. :D Ya, KXLL for these few days were quite boring. Since Lee Hom just released his album, I think he'll be on it soon.

I seldom download from 100kan nowadays since I figured btchina has links from 100kan and some other bt forums as well so whatever I can find in 100kan will most prob be there too and maybe more. Can't remember what's the date but I think he went there to promote his "Wu Ha" album....

Truthfully, I've never fancy Xiaozhu much and yes, he is definitely insecure. I think Xiao S and he are very close. That's the only reason why Xiao S is so nice to him.... Some of his jokes are real dumb and she can still laugh out loud.

but i guess he won't want to be on Kang Xi, since the focus of that show in entirely to gossip about a star's personal life. (ba gua) that's what makes it so interesting, haha.
but lee hom has said before that he loves to chat about his album, his music, and didn't like to talk about his personal life.
he said he hated it when he would talk to a reporter for an hour about his album, and in the last 5 mins they would ask stuff about his personal life or what kinda girl he'd date etc, and all that shows up in publication would be the last 5 mins worth of material.

so i really dont think that lee hom is against xiao s, though he must have been seriously embarassed by her outrageousness. (she takes advantage of him whenever she can, plus there's also the whole confession to having a wet dream about him... :whistle: )

i think he's probably just against the concept of kang xi.
so my hopes of him appearing have flown out of the window.

Oh yup, I remember watching a earlier episode of KXLL with Stefanie Sun and Tanya Chua. And Xiao S actually said that she wanted to fart. Cai Kang Yong showed this disgusted face and said something like 'What?! You are saying this in front of our guests? Even in front of Sun Yan Zi?' And Xiao S said something like she has been controling her fart for very long and can't stand it anymore. So Cai Kang Yong actually told her to go to a corner to do her business. So after farting, there was this segment about dancing. And Xiao S danced. Whats so funny is that, Cai Kang Yong actually said that he could smell waves of fart when Xiao S is dancing. :roll:

yup jolin and ken were both on kang xi. she didn't actually do anything i guess, but she could just feel vibes that she doesn't like them...

i watched the jolin ep really long ago, and of course i didn't waste hard drive space on her so i deleted it off....but i remember thinking that wow, xiao s really made her dislike pretty obvious. its just the way she talked to jolin i guess, an air of disinterest and "i'm only asking you stuff coz you're on my show" kinda thing.

ken chu i know kang yong and xiao s were saying some cutting remarks towards the end....
i think i talked about it someplace before, but i think ken chu was saying "oh, i'm just a second lineup actor" and kangyong and xiao s were like "oh no way, you're a first lineup actor, perhaps a second rate one, but still first lineup." OUCH!

and due to excessive boredom, i downloaded the david tao episode....and i was pleasantly surprised. i mean, i never quite liked david tao on interviews usually, coz it always seemed like he was so preachy and arrogant....perhaps its when he talks about serious stuff that he's that way. but this kang xi ep was actually the most hilarious episode i'd seen for a long time!!! the last time i laughed so much was when lan zheng long was on.

David Tao is actually really funny! Did you watch that episode of Enews where he was making fun of Aya?! ahahhahaha. He was like making fun of her singing or something. And yeah, David seriously does preach a lot it seems, but he's a smart guy! Oh well. And you know, I hated SOS for a looong time but now I like them because they're so bitchy it's kind of refreshing and pleasant. Though of course I doubt Da S is the ultimate goddess to beauty for Xiao S is as pretty as she'd like to be, I think that their personalities match well together.

Well, I watch this show every day during my holidays. It is really funny with Xiao S as she jokes around everytime. And I find that the more guests, the merrier!!!! Especially the episode with her sister, Da S together with a group of friends like Makiyo, Fan Xiao Xuan, Fan Wei Qi, etc. It was really hilarious and I was laughing non stop!!!!! :roll:

it was little things like that that made me feel that xiao s didn't like ken chu, but perhaps i'm just being overly sensitive and since i don't like ken chu much, i'm just subconsciously reading too much into it :angel:

well i think its a self-imposed policy by xiao s. i mean, i'm sure the producers of the show don't go "okay, you guys aren't allowed to talk about your album or whatever it is you're promoting"

i think though that xiao s and kang yong try to keep the show light-hearted and gossipy. and that's prob why i think kang xi is the top rated (in terms of viewership) taiwanese talk show now :angel:

so that's why i'm guessing that perhaps one of the stipulations lee hom's management put down before lee hom agreed to appear on kang xi was that they (xiao s and kang yong) had to focus more on the music and less on the gossip.

And he said that alot of "comedians" have their own notebooks of jokes too. After hearing that, I was kinda dissappointed. Coz if they have to do preparation to be funny, wouldn't that makes them not funny at heart? And their jokes would seem fake to me. So from then on, whenever I see any of them cracking jokes on tv, I'll be thinking to myself, "wonder how long it took for him to practice that line." anne hm, i can't really remember much about that kangkang/nono episode. (whoever that was) i think i fastforwarded through most of it. i didn't really have any interest in watching it in the first place, i prob downloaded it coz there was nothing else to watch, and i thought that that guy was a supposed funny guy so i gave it a shot. but his brand of humor was completely bleah, and i didn't like his style at all. so i just zipped through it to make downloading it worthwhile. :angel:

heey! i watched the episode of KXLL with Kang Kang too.. and yep he has this notebook full of jokes with him. hmmm i disagree with Cheyanne that he becomes not funny at heart.. i still think he is very humurous + hardworking. it takes effort to collect the whole book of jokes and takes skill to portray it in a way that people will laugh at it isn't it? ^^

anyways, so xiao s attempted to slide under kang yong's legs to demonstrate something....and she kinda fell/got stuck.
and bear in mind that she was wearing this teensy skirt and a camisole top. :angel:

speaking of which, i'm pretty sure vivan hsu and vanness are going out....

and vivian was like "oh no no, there was never anything between us" rather vehemently...

Yeah, I think Da S is boring too. I love watching Xiao Zhu and Xiao S. It's so funny. Like they totally bounce off each other. I watch like almost every minute of ASOS when Xiao Zhu hosts with Xiao S. But when Da S comes, I kinda fast forward through it (which is kinda good in a way so I dont sit in front of the computer too much). Anyways, don't you love how they like say those jokes and it's only because THEY'RE talking about it? Like Xiao S is soooo vain and the Xiao Zhu just screws around with her and it's just soooo hilarious. Haha.

I don't really fancy Xiaozhu much though I thank God for those times that Da S is too busy to host ASOS. Da S is such a major bore! But my perception kinda underwent a major change during the Jolin episode coz of the way he helped Jolin. But what I don't understand is, I thought he was closer to Jay compared to Jolin? So did Jay really treat Jolin so badly that Xiaozhu took Jolin's side? So does that mean that Jay really two-timed Jolin? Or did Xiaozhu fancy Jolin for himself? hosted by ASOS - ie, Da S and Xiao S.

but now, they've added Xiao Zhu as a host too, so the pairings are either
1) Da S and Xiao S (meaning *yawn* coz Da S is not only boring herself, she controls Xiao S and makes her more subdued too)

2) Xiao Zhu and XIao S (usually pretty funny)

oh i watched this episode where its the fans meeting between Xiao Zhu's fans and ASOS's fans

and i was so utterly disgusted with Da S
she's so not sporting!!!!!
and vain!!!!!
and selfish!!!!!!

basically the fans from each side played some game and the idol of the loser will have to pick either a truth or a dare.

and then xiao zhu was so sporting!
his first question was "when was your first time? with whom and where?" and da s and xiao s were like "first time having sex" (so that he can't say first time in japan or something)
and xiao zhu answered sorta truthfully...he didn't really say explicitly when, but insinuated that it was "guo zhong" (heh, that's sorta young) and it was at his gf's house, and she was his senior in school.

and then other questions/dares, which he gamely did.

I think that she's really boring and inactive, :dry: not as fun and daring like Xiao S.

eunicezy kia kia is a character that xiao zhu plays at the end of some of the yu le bai fen bai episodes. he's dressed up as a student and tells a short joke. when he was a guest on kang xi lai le, he said that the character is used to make "lun3 xiao4 hua4" (cold jokes) funnier and more personality. so usually the jokes aren't supposed to be that funny anyway (i could be wrong).

poor Yida needed to pick Xiao S' nose after losing at a game. and they basically ignored him for most of the show while talking to M&V most of the time. but i find it funny that yida notices collarbones and legs of girls.
i think michelle is actually really really pretty! i used to hate them but now they're ok, they seem to be really nice and sweet girls. but freakishly skinny like most taiwanese girls.

^ His show is called Kang Yong Dang Jia (康永當家). Ugh he really sucks at hosting by himself! He asks REALLY stupid questions. It's a good thing the co-hosts are more exciting and interesting and funny. But even then, they aren't nearly as awesome as Xiao S.

I DO like that Yu Le Bai Fen Bai is a lot funnier with Xiao Zhu though =] I really think he should start hosting, instead of guest-hosting. He's probably this generation's funniest entertainer in Taiwan, along with Xiao S.

i've pretty much stopped watching these shows (except for isolated episodes when lee hom is on) just because they're just so booorrrring.

Ai Sha is in NO WAY a good host.
and the other random people (that i don't even know the names of) are worse.

and kang yong is just plain wierd without xiao s's crazy antics to balance his oh-so-serious attitude.

i mean the interview on KXLL was so lame. all they did was grill vic on his relatinoship and his replies are so boring. he seemed embarrassed and very careful of his words, not like before when he would crack jokes and laugh a lot.

i love the other two special guests for that episode though.
the girl from mars is gorgeous. the other guy was hilarious. yes, especially when he talked about his "sensitive spot"! i loved how he just said it straight out and matterfactedly and with a completely serious face. it was awesome.

kang yong has a boyfriend? i didn't know that either. but then i always assumed he was gay. but yeah i agree with above comments, he's really boring unless xiao s is there to balance him out.
