Im from a girls sec school. so obviously there will be some girls on top of the social hierchy. like, these girls' lives seem to revolve around boys(they can never stop talking about so-and-so), they'll alter their skirts til its practically a little more than a wide belt, fold their socks so the school name doesnt appear. right now, their hair is pulled high into a short pony tail, lots of air clips, and most of the time, a hair band which doesnt even do its job. all of these and more. when i ask them for the reason- "I dunno", "or else like a nerd mah" etc etc. what is with these kind of people? imagine it:dating at 14, what would happen at 24?
sorry if i said anything wrong.

hmm... I think they will outgrow this soon. If this makes them feel confident and doesnt harm themselves or others, is okay mah.

*Gulp* I dun do kinda stuff even at my age of 15. :?

I dont believe in putting thousands of clips on your hair. Nor do i have my skirts right up my tighs. BAH, you know, its just some girls that makes the whole world thinks that way.

Whats your school BTW? :D

I think some girls who i've seen being very horrible is the way they dress n the way they behave in public places which i've seen one before... it was some event held in k-box for a particular singer n this girl who i met there dress in pink top n skirt which is so damn short revealin her fats on her thigh... not to be mean but she is fat n she wears these clothes which makes her looks so gross... worst of all, when the fans were allowed into the k-box room, she was like lyin on her friend as though tat is her hse... she continue to be lying even the event n the singer was there... so disgraceful...

Well, i do encounter such cases in my school too. Well, there are girls in my school who alter their skirts length, of course shortened them to above their knees. Well, it may look good, but i feel that it look gross. :rasp:
In fact, i have also encountered classmates who are have bgr - boy girl relationships. Well, i am against having bgr at my age, well, it would most probably end within a short time and i believe we are all not ready for such things at such a age. Well, true enough, most of the bgr that had happened last year had already ended by this year.
I guess these students are trying to do what they feel is cool or fashionable... :glug:

in my school, short skirts are a common thing. i mean. the only people who havent altered their skirts are only sec1s. not only that. everyone has this thing about "tucking out".. or at least.. not tucking in their blouses properly.. if you know what i mean.

and as i walk down orchard road or something. everywhere. theres at least someone wearing pink! like. whats up with all the pinkness man?! even the GUYS are wearing pink. >.< eeeks. sometimes everything of the girl is pink. rubber band? pink. hairband? pink. shirt? pink. skirt? pink. socks? pink. even pink shoes!! like. "welcome to barbie world" bleh. -sorry. but pinks not my favourite colour if you couldnt tell-

Haih..... thr are tons of girls like this evrywhere.... They do stuff just to BE cool.... but they just arent.... some wear their socks high....sumthing like Japan's loose socks....actually I like loose socks but puhlease not in skool rite? Short skirts.... I dont really think so la.... but the GUYS in my skool wear bellbottom pants if u noe wat I mean rite? Remind me of wat we call them in M'sia...Lala zai.... I guess ppl do different things to be cool..... if thats wat they think is cool then let them be.... they would probably look back and think of how stupid they were to waste so much money OR how stupid they look..... its a free world..... they can humiliate themselves all they want....

Think the whole altering of skirts, tucking out of blouses, dyeing hair thingy is kinda common in every school. But I find that more girls take the time to dress up than guys. Personally, I have no opinion against girls dressing up when going out but maybe not to school ba. Kinda pointless but I guess they just want to stand out among all the hundreds of similar uniforms.

hmmm...I thought the topic was talking about typical guys & girls... And I think the topic now is about typical Secondary School girls trying to be a hipsters?

I do agree with jay ayumi 4ever that girls who dressed up differently in Secondary schools are trying to show that they are daring enough to go against the school rules... Which I think is darn stupid and silly...

Well, I still think that most of the things the teen girls wear nowadays are still very much affected by the Japanese Fashion Scene...because if you go down to Hereen or Far east, most of the clothes there are very closely related with the Japanese Fashion Scene... Pink, elephant socks...short skirts...Cute things... dyed hair... etc etc...

And it's true that the number of guys wearing pink has increased alot... Especially in the past 1 year... And it's mostly with the teen boys... Though I do think that some guys look really nice in pink (Thinks of Jay...)...but I think I only like certain shades of pink...especially baby & soft pink...

Hey...maybe we can set a topic, so that we can discuss about that topic..then after a while we can change it again?

ok, i admit it. i do tuck out my shirt, and i do wear ankle socks. i like breaking school rules. but i only do that after school. well, all i can say is that my school really influenced me right to the core. even my brother said that i changed a lot. *scary*

but one thing for sure, i cannot stand girls who go all googly ga-ga over guys 24-7. *rolls eyes* and i hate those girls who go all jap style, fluffy pink mini skirts, puffy socks... i mean, this is singapore, not japan! all the girls look the same when they are on the streets.

but still, this is singapore and this is our culture. so we have to face it after all...

erm.. seems like this thread hasn't touched on boys yet. hehe. so let me start the ball rolling...............
i'm from a boy sch, most guys there look ok. most dont dye thier hair (becoz of school rules basically), but those people that r not in school, they usually try to look cool. act some colors here and dere. pink isnt the favourite color here amongst guys (yet), but what i can't stand is teens trying to act cool by smoking. nowadays when u r waiting for the bus at the busstop, sometimes u can see boy/girl sharing a cigarette.. smoking.. some even wear thier school u. disgusting. bleahz.

kakaakajes
11-30-2004, 05:21 PM
well, what we usually see, are not guys that are OK. what i see is so NOT OK. i guess the good ones(the ones really worth going after!) are at home. and its freaking fustrating when those 'black sheep', just one or two ONLY, tarnished the school's reputation. come on, think about the thousand-odd that are totally innocent can? so because of these inconsiderate people, the school and every-thing/-one in it are being labeled.
those jpop fashion? these people clearly have not been to japan. can they not just act their age?
newsflash:the IN thing, supposedly, is sex. at any age. for god's sake.

Well, I think that most boys & girls during secondary schools, want to act cool, "IN", Cute or "Macho", for many reasons I think, Some wanna get accepted into certain "COOL" groups as they think that it's the COOL thing...

Hmmm...I don't think that J-Fashion isn't so "IN" anymore, as right now It's more of a Punk + Hip Hop + Free Style dressing or even cross dressings.

It's not that those people haven't been to Japan, it's just that some of the J-Fashion just isn't suitable for the Hot and Humid weather in Singapore...

The J-Fashion offered here in Singapore are mostly from Late Spring to Early Autumn...

(Enough of Side Track)

Well, I'm from a Mixed School, and I find that it's very disgusting to share a cigarette, cuz what's up with sharing a cigarette? Can't you get your own? But I think alot of these students doesn't really care whether they're smoking when wearing school uniform or not...

I'm a nerd in the school. Totally different from what i wore my unifrom outside.

In school, my belt is right up high, my socks are 3 fingers up my ankle, my hair neatly tied up, wore specs.

Out of school, ankle socks, low belt, let down hair.

AHAHAHA! :excited: I'm a havoc outside sch.

Hmmm I think that the typical singaporean girl go for rebonded straight hair. :worry: Am I off-topic? :shy:

kakaakajes
12-01-2004, 07:04 PM
rebonded hair looks very very weird after some time or so.
its also very funny to see some guys who keep pulling their pants because its so loose. you know, once i was standing near that marche stall in heeren, at the entrance, on a busy day, just watching the world go by. and i tell you, its amazing how many of these ignorant people you can see.
look, maybe we can change this topic! to "lets start bashing those idiots verbally!" hah!
btw, should learn form HaNaBi. "The 3 famous phrase: Don't know, Don't care, Don't Bother"

REal loose pant. I wonder izzit the shop out of their sizes? or out of stock?
They end up showing their underpant everytime they pull up their pants!

And i do like the 3 famous pharse! :D :D :D :D

haha... ankle socks are cool in my school. no teacher says anything. hey, they're wearing socks, eh? empty bags, smoking in the back alley out of school, coming right before school starts... welcome to my school. skip classes, bring handphone... geez... it gets confiscated, 5 bucks out of the wallet and you get the handphone back. Wow... wonderful discipline... doesnt sound like much here but my schoolmates are chaos brewers... tsk...they just wanna be in the "IN" crowd. they dont know they're making people think that the school students are so bad, no matter how many times teachers tell them.

HA! I think Rebonding will help alot of people who have curly hairs bahZ... Though I must say that 2-3 yrs ago, almost 8 outta 10 girls went for rebonding and after that they will dye their hair...
Don't worry... You're on the right track... Unless you drifted off into something totally off topic...

Now...7 outta 10 girls will go for the "Toilet Bowl" hair style, which I think only Suits Hebe... and some girls... I remembered that there were a few times I walked along the streets of Orchard and I'll see alot of girls having these hair styles... But GOSH! I can say that It don't really suit them at all...total Horror! Now, that's waht I call Typical...

talking about low waist Jeans... I remembered seeing a group of Guys, wearing really low jeans and they have to constantly pull their jeans up their waist the keep it from falling... It was so funny looking from the back... HA!

HAHA! Seems like my 3 famous phrases has gained quite a small popularity HAHA! But remember. use it on certain things onli HAHA!

Just the other day, when I was shopping with my friends at Far east, I realised that there was a group of 3 teens girls, that kept following us around... well not very close..though my friends didn't realised as they were busy SShopping, I realised them.. And whenever I turn around, they'll try to hide away... Come to think of it... It's quite funny HA!

Emjay
12-03-2004, 01:35 PM
ohboyohboy low waist jeans?? I've always wondered how it would be like if you go up to some guy (with his pants say, 3/4 off his waist already) and act snobby and put on this terrified expression and say something like "horrors! I can see you boxer shorts. tut tut."

but then again haiya. when you walk along orchard etc and see girl abc look and dress exactly like xyz, you suddenly realise how so many spend their teens conforming to what's "in" and discriminating against what's "nerdy" "geeky" etc etc

I even have a friend who says that girls who doesn't have a crush or whatever is a lesbian which is like o.o you talk what crap?? haish.

rainbowballoon
12-04-2004, 03:19 PM
akane_chou : yeah, ankle socks are big in my school too. Actually I think they are popular in every school lah. Nearly everyone's wearing it and the teachers have to ask them to pull up their socks. Anyway I think my school has responded to this problem by creating ankle length school socks for us. Quite diao ah. :D At least I think they are ankle length -- so small and short. Wonder if my big feet can squeeze in?

HaNaBi : Toilet bowl hairstyle? What is that exactly? (haven't been taking notice of hebe's hair :shy:) Does it mean the currently pretty hot squarish fringe on the forehead hairstyle?

Emjay: girls who doesn't have a crush or whatever is a lesbian
hmm that's madness. i heard or read somewhere that these 'myths (?)' of not having a crush means you are not straight thing put pressure into people going in bgr quicker cos they are afraid they might be labelled as gays. -.-

HaNaBi
12-21-2004, 10:44 AM
rainbowballoon, from what i've seen...Seems like alot of the girls nowadays like to go for the "Hebe hairstyle" but well, now that Hebe has changed her hair style back to "side-parting"

emjay, I'll have to really break this myth... I can definitely say that this is a very naive thinking and assumption that a girl who doesn't have a crush or whatever is a lesbian. That's kinda childish and naive actually.

Some girls who doesn't have a crush, might already have a clear direction about what type and characters the girl would like the guy to have. So, if there's no guy that belong to what she expects, she won't fall in love...

And this applies to guys as well...

Yes! I totally agreed with it maN! Firstly, I am one of the girls who doesnt have a crush for like almost 1yr plus?? PLUS i am definately not a lesbian~

Wow~ I dint know now school gotta make student pull up their socks! Back in my secondary school days, all we does is pull it high! The higher the better!! But now its the other way around? How time flies...~

One thing for sure, short skirts and baggy jeans never run out of any era... But it just seem that skirts are getting shorter- you could almost see what is under when she takes the escalator!

And Jeans are getting baggier, droping lower with each step he takes. Its really a horror to see him climb up the steps of the public buses with the pants going as low as buttdock level =.=

Geez, whoever said that a girl with no crush is a lesbian ought to be put behind bars, just how many girls is he insulting with that untrue statement?
I don't have a crush through out ten years of my primary and secondary education. Why? CAUSE I'M IN A GIRLS' SCHOOL and who do you want me to crush?

About that baggy jeans thingy, I always wear my jeans very low, almost dropping kinda level. Actually I think it's more comfortable and looks better this way, and I wear a belt, so I don't have to constantly pull it up everytime. :-)

Ahhhh, even guys have caught that rebonding wave. There're like at least 3 guys whom I often see around my school with rebonded hair, *gawdknowshowmanytherearestill* Actually it's pretty gross, coz they look so sissy with it, but one of them look pretty good coz he styles his rebonded hair.

hahas. everytime i sees my friends with that kinda jeans, i would attempt to pull their jeans - i mean, it's going to drop sooner or later whether i pull or not... =X jkjk. yupps, this baggy style is still quite hot in myy sch, their uniforms' long pants drop drop. then girls are the oppo - folding on the top. and it's quite obvious when they fold incorrectly, cos the pleats would be so unequal.

hmm i gues the typical sg female jc student look will be short skirts, tucked out blouses, high ponytails, flashy sling or tote bag, low socks..

hmm ironically those who do not dress like that stand out more than those who does cos there r jus too many who r alike..

Jie_Lun_Rox
06-30-2007, 06:41 AM
^ yes yes!! I see that every jc female student looks almost the SAME.

The trend for Secondary school boys now, is to alter their long pants a lil tighter at the bottom. Not everyone can pull off that look and i find that normal pants are better looking..
