Ohh...this is too good to be true. I love Final Fantasy games. I started playing from FF VII and it's the best among all up till now. Although i'm still with FFX now, I will eventually play them all. :shy: hehe...

I pretty much like all the old-school FF games. I'm not really much of a fan of the PS/PS2-based FF's, just the old NES/SNES versions. FF6 is definately my favourite :)

Ugh I've been waiting for that movie for 1 year! I thought it was going to come out this summer...
We all hate Sephiroth, but he's such a cool character!!! Did you see the trailers for FFVII AC? looks awesome to me! The graphics are wonderful and there'll probably LOTSA action ^^

It seems like FF VIII isn't very appreciated by FF fans, but it's my favorite one, because the story's well built, the characters very developped, and Rinoa & Squall are soooo cute together =) FFX is also great, the fmvs are breath taking @_@ and FFX-2, well... too much "girl power" charlie's angels' style, and I didn't like to see the little innocent Yuna transformed into a ..hmm yeah. And Rikku, wtf happened to her? the purpose of this game is to turn on all the guys -_-;; The battle system is very interesting though.

Ok I'll shut up now lol. Am I the only girl here?

not everyone hates sephiroth...i like him
not to mention his huge ass sword (and his inclusion in Kingdom Hearts)

ah well...
yes...i think they de-asianified Rikku...

ff7 is the least 'fantasy' out of them all i think
but it's the first FF i played...and i like it the best...
so i guess that's saying a lot =)

i really liked ff7 too but it really wasn't as good as everyone said it would be. maybe i had too high expectations for it before i began.
6,8, and 9 were really good too, but i remember i was really disappointed by the ending of ff6. heh i dont remember what it was though..=)

Yup....Yup...The Final Fantasy series. The game that invites me to the world of gaming. One of the best out there. I've played from the FFIV to FFX and I think my favourite would be FFVII and FFX. FFVII for being my first FF series that I play and for its very, very long hours of innovative gameplay. And FFX is for the its 'tradition-breaking' battle system and a great dramatic story. One of the best ending in an RPG I ever seen. It makes me braking into tears....Wonderful, the FMV is so heavenly real that it really conveys human emotions like a TV drama.

And of course, Thanks to Nobuo Uematsu for a great music and heavenly orchestration. Without him, the FMV sequence and the game would be dry like a desert. His music really creates the atmosphere of various emotions on FF series.

FFVII sequel game all coming next year I heard from IGN that Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII is a third person shooting game, like Devil May Cry? Square Enix says that it is another approach for them to have more variety in their game genre; just like FFVII: Before Crisis for the Mobile.

By the way, anybody like FFTactics? I love the game so much. Its Job System is one of the most creative system on earth, just like FFV. :-)

vashdestampede
10-10-2004, 12:09 PM
hmmm...fftactics didn't come out in europe

is it like fftactics advanced
(that sounds so much like a stupid question now...)

cos that was very addictive...

is it like fftactics advanced
(that sounds so much like a stupid question now...)

cos that was very addictive...Yup...Yup...I agree. FFT Advanced is very addictive. And so with FF Tactics. It is like FFTA but more complex. There are more jobs and more abilities to learn (which keeps you busy with battle and stuff). The battle is more intense. But the battle mission is more storyline-based. Of course, there are LOTS of side-quests which will take you hours to complete them all. The only thing that I don't really like is the number of members that your party can have. FFT has only 16 members while FFTA has 24 in total. I can say that FFT is more complex and more hours of gameplay while FFTA has more developed system like "Treasure Hunt", "Clan Battle" or "Free Area", etc.

And I guarantee if you like FFTA, you will love FFT. :-)

I don't really know much Final Fantasy because I haven't played the games. But I love the graphics, that's how come I like it. And it has nice storylines too. I love Final Fantasy VIII, X, and X-2. I think XII will be good. By the way, is there an actual movie on DVD on these series? I don't know if their is but I think they have versions in Japanese right? What about English? I don't really think so. Is there translated versions, like Chinese subtitles? I really love the series and want to understand what they are talking about. Okay, let's keep clear, is there Final Fantasy movies? And in English or Japanese?

there is a Final Fantasy movie but it isn't really like the games at all and it was released in the cinema and u'll b able to find it DVD now as well... its called Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.. i personally liked it but i know alot of ppl (mainly non FF fans) who didn't...

there is also a Final Fantasy Anime series that is available on DVD too but its abit cutesy and it seem u like the FF games that appear more realistic... u noe.. FF9 is one of the better ones rite??

Are you guys in Europe? FFXI has been out for a year here in North America and we just recently celebrated the first year anniversery on Oct 28th. Its deffinately pay to play for both PS2 & PC. I've been playing for 2 months now and I love this game. Theres a lot of depth to it thanks to the variety of jobs available but its the same old repetitive game play. The only serious complaint I have for the game is how it forces you to party up if you want to get anywhere at higher levels. Its hard to enjoy the game when someone isn't doing their job well enough as well as the occasion noobs that seriously shouldn't be playing at all. Its a great game, just really time consuming especailly when you're trying to make ingame money. About the FF movie, its good but most fans hate it because theres no FF element in it.

I've only ever played FF on PS2, versions FFX and FFX-2. I thought FFX was alright, but X-2 made me laugh a lot, there were those silly costumes and sentences the three girls yell. Then there were those random missions like when Yuna had to give Leblanc a massage (which I thought was extreme creepy :?) and when Yuna was rehearsing her dance for the concert on the airship. Most of my friends say FF7 is the best, maybe I should play that one =)

ff7 is the best! u should play that and the other ones on ps1, they're really good..ff8 is hard though...ff9 is fun but theres this reallly really hard optional boss( that i didnt beat  ) i think that they should have justed ended x and not make x2 cuz it ruin the story :-x

FF is the best game series ever! I've started playing when I was very young at first I watched my brother play on the Nitendo? and i was so attracted to the game, the storyline, the graphics, th sounds... yup FFVI was my first try, but I enjoyed FFVII more, like most of you I agree that FFVII is the best so far. I'm stills stuck with FFX now, been really busy with my work and stuff. I think all FF has got a good storyline, but FFVII is most enjoyable because its rather fast-paced, not many side-quests, and ya I liked the materia system too... It's easy play so you can focus on the game more.

Willows
11-09-2004, 09:28 AM
I just can't stand how X-2 had all these side quest that distracted you from the story. If you beat all of them and get 100% on the game you get this extra ending thats probrably not even worth the hundreds of hours you put into beating all those side quests. And knowing me, I can't stand missing out on anything so I tried doing all those silly quest and ended up quiting -_-. I don't get the point of having extra or multiple endings. Whats the point of adding replay value to an RPG game? Its hard enough to make yourself beat it the first time around and I still haven't done so ;_;.

LSS
11-09-2004, 09:33 AM
Like everyone said, FFVII is the best of its series... the story is just too nice!
I played FFX and FFX-2 too.. some side quest took way too long to complete ( like the butterfly catching in FFX.. i took hours to complete it)
All the stories in the series are well told.. but i dislike FFX-2 story line.. although the new bettle system is quite fun IMO.

vashdestampede
11-10-2004, 12:01 AM
actually...i thought the 40+ extra hours it took for me to do everything was worth the ending...cos it ties everything up...

and that's the WHOLE point of rpg's!!!!!
having a replay function just makes it easier for you the second time!!!

(not to mention whooping a boss' ass you had trouble with the first time around)

Chrono Cross..? You just have to play it someday. It's great. One of my all time favourite. That time Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy VIII were released at the same time. And I think for some reasons, I find Chrono Cross is so damn good.
Storyline & concept: superb. Battle system is satisfactory and innovative with huge party members. Music: Yasunori Mitsuda's composition is almost as great as Nobuo Uematsu. Nice music, with mellow and sad tunes. Graphics: very colourful and cheerful, like FFX, but the music is emotional and laidback, potraying a wistful emotion.
Of course, there's some reminiscence of Chrono Trigger too.

I just dont like the way that the main character is not talking at all! Serge is like a crazy mute who use body language only.

But vash, buy and play it before you die. It's a must-have game; It's one of the 'PlayStation Greatest Hits' game.

vashdestampede
11-26-2004, 03:02 AM
ok...when i've got my last...say $300, i'll buy a US one and play it...

serge is mute¿ hmmm...sounds like chrono...

i never realised chrono never spoke actually, until a friend pointed it out to me

actually...bit of squenix news....
hironobu sakaguchi got fired/quit and started a new company called mist walkers or something...

and nobuo uematsu has also started his own thingy...

*sigh*...squenix isn't gonna be like squaresoft at all

sagara0510
11-26-2004, 07:01 AM
just because he's started his own thing doesn't mean square-enix won't hire him to do their FF scores anymore does it?? i don't think any1's music is better than his... its a big loss if he won't do nemore FF songs/music

vashdestampede
11-26-2004, 08:12 AM
yeah...i grew up on rpgs with is music dotting the background...

hmmm...and hironobu sakaguchi was executive producer on EVERY squenix game i played...

*sigh*

i was wondering...now square is with enix
could there be a chance chrono chross will come to europe¿

Odium: De_Vangelis
11-27-2004, 02:55 AM
vash: 'Chrono Cross' is an old game right now...With the advent of PS3 coming up, it would be push its age even further. I don't think SquareEnix is going to release it to Europe. They did plan a sequel to 'Chrono Cross' though, called 'Chrono Break'. But I never hear any news about it again. Which is sad....Cause it's such a great title... :worry:

sagara: Try Yasunori Mitsuda's compositions. He worked for Squaresoft for couple of years, but he quited. Now, he became a freelance composer, Just like Nobuo Uematsu today.
He composes alll the songs for Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Xenosaga: episode I and II. His compositions are great, too. If you have a chance to play Xenosaga: episode I, try listen to the random battle song. It's addictive. Probably if you want, I can upload some of his compositions. Just ask me anytime if you want to. :-)

I also heard that Nobuo Uematsu is working less composition as time goes on. He shares many his composition's works with many others and making about half of the songs in FFX. and in FFXI, he's only making the theme song. I think he is also less involved in the upcoming Final Fantasy XII. So, sagara, you don't have to worry cause what you hear in FFX is not entirely his and it sounds as good...I think as long as it still has Uematsu's touch. :-)

Out of all the Final Fantasy series, I like Final Fantasy X the most with Final Fantasy VII following very close behind. Both of these games are so freakin sweet. Advent Childen was the $hit and one of the best movies of year and had some of the best fighting scenes to go along with it. Going to go pick up FF XII sometime soon. :-)

I only played Final Fantasy X and X-2. I found X awesome but X-2 is totally horrible. I mean X-2 starts off with Yuna been a sphere hunter, on a desperate search for Tidus. Then she discovers a colossus, Vegnagun, that threatens to destroy Spira. Later she found out Vegnagun is controlled by an unsent, Shuyin. So she go destroy Vegnagun, find Shuyin, defeat him, got Lenne to sent him, find Tidus and happily ever after. Woohoo, how exciting...
The story itself isn't even that good. The game takes way too long and it's basically playing the lame version of FFX 5 times in one playthrough...

I don't hate Sephiroth! Not one bit! He's so awesome! Though Cloud and Tifa are better of course. And I personally feel CLoud and Tifa should be together. Anyone else agree?

BTW, ur not the only girl here.

SOrry guys, but this new "game" isn't so new anymore. Dirge of Cerberus was okay... the cutscenes and story were aweosme of course and I love Vncent Valentine! Sad story.....
The problem was the controls were a little unstable and the camera was asking for me to punch it crazy. Effing camera.

Also, the gameplay graphics weren't that great as well as the gameplay cutcenes, and the boss battles were frustrating. When Vincent does some cool jumping trick where he shoots his enemy upside down, I say to myself "Why can't I do that when I actually play the game?"

Still, it was kind of fun to play. Vincent rocks!

Final Fantasy is awesome! (duh!) I've always wanted Dirge of Cerberus, but oh well, might as well finish FFX-2 while I'm at it.
