As requested by the stylish young ladies of KANR, here is a thread devoted to all things SATC...

Discuss about your fave character, plotlines, scenes and whathaveyous...
And now that it is about to wrap up (for HBO Asia viewers), relive the most exciting & memorable moments in the lives of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte & Miranda... :excited:

And for spoilers, kindly write them in white text... :D

Miranda: If a man is over thirty and single, there's something wrong with him. It's Darwinian.
They're being weeded out from propagating the species.
Carrie: Okay, what about us?
Miranda: We're just choosy.

Hey Felice! Thanks for starting this thread for all of us SATC fans out there! And great idea about posting spoilers in white. Yay! So the last season hasn't started yet in Australia, but Feixuan has allready made me a SATC banner which I will use once the show comes on again.

My favourite character (if I had to choose) would be Samantha. I love that she is confident, opinionated, doesn't care what other people think, and open-minded. I like that she is the least judgemental of the three, and gets to quip the best sexual innuendo lines. Muahaha.

My fav couple is Miranda & Brady. I know Brady is a kid half the time, and that Miranda is so cynical when it comes to love...but they are my fav couple to watch.

And why do I love this show? The interaction between the girls...how they are there to support each other just like our girlfriends in real life. The fashion, the witty script, the crazy situations they get into with their dates and relationships, and NYC....bring on the last season!! I can't wait :excited:

AHH! Sex and the City!! I love the show!!

Favorite character...Charlotte. She's so conservative it's funny. And I guess in a way I can relate with her...somewhat. But all the girls are fun. Without them, there wouldn't be Sex and the City.

And what I love about the show is that it feels like whenever Carrie writes in her laptop, she seems to cover a lot of issues that all girls/women are facing. I love that.

"Who would have thought an island that tiny would be big enough to hold all our old boyfriends?" -Miranda on Staten Island.

Thank you Felice jie for creating this thread :hugz: Maybe you should attach a PG on the title

Okay, my fave character in SATC is Samantha, because she's living a life every woman dream of having. Single, powerful and desirable. And her sex-capades are hillarious. The fireman incidence, viagra addicted episode, the Aids test episode... the stuff she do to get laid... and Smith is so damn gorgeous and sweet!!!

I suppose I won't be giving any spoilers coz in Malaysia it's still on the 4th episode (tomorrow will be 5th) and I can only talk about the first and third season because I watched only those seasons... hmm...

And I love the clothes in SATC, it's so classy and so nice. Sarah Jessica Parker looks good in the final season with her hair in big waves unlike previous seasons (tight short curls). I'm gonna collect the DVDs from season 1-6 coz it's so good!!!

OMG. SATC is probably my favourite sitcom after Friends (used to like them but it just went from bad to worst...). My favourite character's Carrie because I relate to her. I hate to admit this but I'm guilty of turning into marsh whenever a boyfriend calls. Watching the show made me realise once again that it shouldn't be that way because girlfriends are just as important ! And best of all, gfs will always be there even when all the boys die or fall off the face of the earth.

Of course I love the clothes and shoes. I'm not sure how Carrie affords those Manolo Blahniks on her income as a sex columnist. I'd love to be in her shoes  Literally.

Wow thank yo felice, finally someone who appreciate this great series!

Hmm. i say charlotte is my fave character, very sweet and innocent. she's just so charming but the guys she takes up... are a bit... weird looking.

miranda... well she is mature and she is very professional, but her life is kinda boring... not many guys except her hubby and the odd one or two here and there.

carrie, she's cool. pretty and always the hippiest clothes especially her sea green tutu-like dress in the very last last episode.

samantha, nah she's charismatic and everything, but she is so confident and her generaly aura just tells she's really up herself in real -life . well that's the impression i get! but yea, she represents the elders in SATC

which is cool.

i take my hats off to Samantha! she is the coolest character...my best memory of a scene of hers is the guy she was seeing which turned out to be soooo short! when she saw the label on his jacket that says 'juniors', her face/reaction was classic!

i'm always sad with Carrie's adventures with Mr. Big--they really hit it off pretty well but can't seem to make it! remember that time when she first saw Big's wife Natasha? awww, everyone can relate so well to this ex-sightings...

OH MY GOSH!! THERE REALLY IS A SATC THREAD!! YAAAAY!! thanks MasterCP!

"Sex with an ex can be depressing. If it's good, you don't have it anymore; if it's bad, you just had sex with an ex." -Samantha

"If you're tired you TAKE a Napa..you don't MOVE to Napa." - Carrie to Big on his leaving for Napa Valley

"Oh My God. I think she's just become fashion roadkill!" Stanford on Carrie's tripping on her own shoes on the runway

"Your lady is lovely, Hubbell" - Carrie
"What? I don't get it" - Big
"And you never did." - Carrie
(Scene outside Plaza Hotel on day of Big's engagement to "stick figure with no soul")

"Hey Blondie, move fat ass" fat guy says to Carrie and Miranda in casino
"SHE just had a baby, buddy, what's YOUR excuse." Carrie to the fat guy

I have so many other favorite lines! Can't possibly post them all!!

I don't think I've loved a show more than this show ever.. so embodies NY and how women think. I don't think there's ever been a show that talks so frankly and candidly about women's frustrations, desires, dreams and relationships (friend, family, love). My favorite character on SATC has got to be Carrie..because I can relate to her the most. Her confusion on love..her spontaniety..how she follows her heart..her obsession with shoes.. Thought Miranda is also pretty up there too! I have always found Miranda and Carrie's friendship to be the best/closest of the four.

My favorite story line is the one between Big and Carrie..and favorite episode is "I Heart NY"..the one where Big leaves for Napa. (Moon River playing in the background).. She has one last night with him before he leaves..but ends up having to deliver Miranda's baby. This episode was probably one of the most heart-warming ones. Other favorite moments: 1) where Miranda's mom passes away and Samantha looses her ability to be..sexually fullfilled. Miranda tries on the funeral dress & bras in the fitting room and finally breaks down and cries..SO touching. 2) The episode where Big goes to Aidan's house up in Suffern, NY and they end up duking it out in the mud!! 3) The episode where Carrie sees Aidan again (after the Big affair) and she wants him back..and he says "Carrie, you broke my heart!" OOOh.. I almost died.. He looked REEEALLY good when she saw him again. Too bad it wasn't meant to be..

Okay, this is becoming a bit long-winded..

But everyone should post their favorite moments!!

I have a confession to make. I can't contain my curiousity about the season finale, so I read the synopsis in HBO's official website, and I think the ending is too predictable....

I'm not sure what's my fave moment, but I can tell you the part which I hate!! It was when Big brought Carrie to his apartment to 'meet' and his wife, Natalie caught her in the room and she (Natalie) broke her teeth when she was chasing Carrie down the stairs. That's so stupid. You DON"T go to your married lover's place to do it, especially when she's IN town... gosh.

Another is when Carrie broke down and told Aidan about her affair with Big and he told her that she broke his heart after Charlotte's wedding to Trey

Okay, I think most of my fave moments are Samantha's strings of hanky panky. And when Charlotte told the girls that Trey can't 'get it up'. The look on Charlotte's face when she said that was hillarious.

Anyway, yesterday's episode was pretty intense. Spoilers:
---------------------------
My heart totally goes out to Miranda in last nite's episode when she realised that she's making cupcakes for Steve's new girlfriend birthday and forced herself to decorate the cupcakes on her own when Steve had to leave for work. The way Carrie told her to 'stay away from the icing' (Miranda called her after Steve left) makes me want to have friends like Carrie, Samantha and Charlotte who will always be there when I need them when I'm in my 30's.

Berger is just a total ass to Carrie because her carreer is going well, and his is not. Talk about ego problems. I wanna see them breaking up soon because he just so pathetic and such a jerk for leaving her alone at Jerry's theatre play red carpet. And Carrie's bag is HIDEOUS!!! That's the ugliest bag I have ever seen in my life.

Samantha and Jerry is so sweet, that seeing an older woman and this young, innocent looking guy doesn't bother me at all. And Samantha is in love with him whether she realised it or not, because she volunteers to help with his 30 bucks per day actor job. This is the first time I saw her do that to a guy she sleeps with. And it's so funny when she went to the theatre to support Jerry Jerrod :P (whom she renamed Smith Jerrod) she was dozing off, until Jerry came on stage and did his monologue in nude... her eyes just went o_O

Ahhh... next episode Big will make an appearance (stop bugging Carrie's life, for Pete sake) and I wanna see how Samantha's relationship with Smith goes (I can't wait for the pubic hair colouring which samantha did because it's grey down there...(it turns orange) haha.)

I can't post much in this thread coz' I'm very sure I'll just blurt out all that happens and I absolutely hate it when someone does that to me.

Yes! I've finished everything! I did discuss with my friend that the ending was a bit disappointing - too expected. The gals end up with the guys that I like, but I'm just difficult to please. But like my friend says, the process of getting there is more important than the finale. And I really really like this show. Some of their sentences are just so right on! And you find that you can connect with all 4 gals in some ways.

It's a Girl thing.

wow....i started watching SATC sometime back coz my roomate was an obsessed SATC fan. so i watched 3 seasons in like a couple of weeks. marathon-ed it. then promptly got mega sick of it...since the themes of each episode was about the same.
carrie being shoe-crazy or obsessed with Big.
samantha just sleeping with a different guy each episode.
miranda being cynical about life.
charlotte trying to land her big fish aka rich husband.

so i stopped watching it for a long time....then i started catching re-runs on tv and well, i liked it all over again. (watching it in moderation helped a lot :) ) so i watched season 5....
i gotta say, i used to like the carrie-big pairing...
but this time around, i think the samantha and smith story is just sooooo sweet. i'm a sucker for nice guys like that. :)

No kidding! I think they just do that to make the rest of us drool! My favorite character would have to be Carrie, because she best represents who I am at this stage in my life. I know I have seen every episode; but the simplistic charm of the theme always draws me back in. That and the fashion.

but this time around, i think the samantha and smith story is just sooooo sweet. i'm a sucker for nice guys like that. :)

I loved the scene when he walked in on Samantha shaving her head and he took the razor off her and shaved his own.. And also the one when he's sitting in the hotel lobby (wherever it was) waiting for Samantha when she just left him to be with Richard... that was so incredibly sweet, and I think that's when Samantha realised she loved him. I'd have to say Samantha and Smith are my fave couple! I love the tales of 'girl tames player' or in this case, 'guy tames playette' I didn't think they'd last cuz I actually expected Smith to dump Samantha after she helped him hit the big time with his career (the cynical Miranda in me)

What I love most about the show is the friendship between the 4 girls. They have such a strong bond even though they all have such different personalities, beliefs and values. I cried in that scene (2nd last episode) when they were all sitting together for the last time before Carrie went to Paris.. and Carrie said something like, "what if I'd never met you guys?"

And I knew Carrie would get back with Big.. even though I didn't want that to happen. I'm pro-Aidan!!

okie, HBO Asia has shown last night the Grand Finale (though I already saw it earlier on over at Japanese cable)!

it was the saddest moment for me when Carrie lost her name necklace. she felt she lost a lot--memories of their friendship in particular--in such a strange place. her phonecall to miranda was a cry for plea!

smith is such a sweetie!!

I missed the grand Finale!!!! I watched the 3 hours special for The apprentice on StarWorld and I forgotten all about the show!!! OMG I'm such a lame fan eventho I already know the ending ages ago (and I'm not even a fan of the apprentice!!! How stupid can I get???)!!!!

Okay, I'm going to buy the boxset since I don't think HBO will show the rerun again (not even sure if I can catch it if there is one). Smith and Samantha is definitely my fave couple, altho Miranda and what his name (brady???) looks good together too.

I'm pro-Aidan too, coz he's so good for her. but the Russian painter is so not Carrie type. What happened to her? I know she's not Samantha who just go for anyone but that guy just... too old for her >.< I think Big played the 'first love' part in Carrie's life, her soul mate. I just don't like him as much as Aidan tho' coz he cheated on his wife.

Oh the final part, I don't want it gonna end

I also love to see Aidan and Carrie together, the Russian painter is one of character I hate the most. He is so cold and ignore. I knew it, Carrie will return to her best friend, and couple, no one else but Mr.Big. It likes they are soulmate  The big surprise for me is Smith and Samantha, he is such a sweet, drooling guy, I never thought Samantha will find the true love but he is. I'm die for have someone like Smith

Why did it have to end? Im gonna miss it alot and the ending wasnt great either. And so we find out Big's real name....--> not gonna tell yah!. it'd be better if it remained secret forever.

I never can decide who is my favorite. i love all of them. i cant decide my favorite couple too. I guess its Miranda and Steve. Or maybe Smith and Samantha. Steve is such a sweet guy, he's always there! Smith too. he's all hunked up but has a nice heart.

Favorite line: If you're tired...You take a napa, you dont move to Napa!--> that kept me laughing 30 mins after the episode ended

I wish I could have friends like that. My friends are excellent, but we cant talk about stuff like this. and all the sex on the show, Im like used to it now.

Oh man I love Sex and the City. Sooo depressing that it ended.

Samantha is hilarious, I'd say she's my favorite because she's so straight forward and honest. Like she went up to the clerk and was like, I'd like to return this vibrator. No shame at all haha. XD

Ah I must get seasons 1-6.
