(Did a search, and didn't seem to find anyone that have already started an Arashi thread, so if there is one, I apologize. ^-^')

Anyhoo...has anyone heard of Arashi? I remember seeing their music video in China a few years back, but this time I saw them on TV again...I've just recently became a fan, so I don't know anything about them other than that I love their music. So, anyone heard of them? Any opinions? Any suggestions to which songs are the best? Any info? I would love to learn more about them! :happy:

It turned out that he was suffering from a disease known as pneumothorax - a collapse of one of the lungs due to a huge change in the internal pressure in the chest cavity, caused by some sort of trauma or a spontaneous lung rapture. Symptoms include shortness of breath and severe, one-sided (affected side) chest pain on inhalation. DON'T WORRY, minna! Aiba-chan is fine! This disease is VERY common among young guys who are both hyperactive yet skinny at the same time and it IS a curable disease! the first time i saw arashi was when i saw their music video, day in our life (or something to that extent), on mtv.. their rap gets catchy at first and their dance moves..but once you listen to more of their you can say japanese hip-hop sorta music, it can get slightly irritating. they are in contrast a good-looking group that stands out from the others, smap for example, bearing in mind they're younger, obviously making them appear more striking and eye-catching. jun and uno prove me wrong about the lack of good-looking japanese guys. :wink2:

hey! i am a new fan of arashi. i had my japanese friend sleep over last night and she is a HUMONGOUS FAN of arashi...haha especially jun. so now she got me pretty much hooked on them too.

cuso: omg, part of the reason i fell in love with arashi was because of the drama gokusen too! the drama is very very good. my friend and i watched like who knows how many episodes last night from 7 until like 3 in the morning. i am also in love with the other hottie in the show, the blond one...shun oguri...hehe.

my friend said arashi had their own type of show where they do stupid and silly stuff. it's pretty hilarious because she showed me a few :D

there's one where they were all learning chinese at this chinese restuarant and the teacher was so biased because she kept on saying sho was the best even though he wasn't really the best. it was really really funny and all the other members were complaining especially nino.

there was another episode where they bought like 20 boxes of condoms and poked holes in them with needles and then put them back in the store... :D they are so silly, especially nino. i love them!!!!

and one last one where they were experimenting about a paper boat, so they built a huge oragonmi boat and put it on the river and 2 of the members can't remember which was rowing in it and 2 hours later they were like almost drowning...HAHA, and another one, is when nino and sho i think...were with this really gay guy named kaba i think that was his name...and the gay guy kama kept on hitting on nino and sho so they were trying to escape. really really cute!

I'm a new arashi fan well... more of a "Jun", I just finished watching the series Gokusen and Jun was the BOMB =P I love his character in the series.
I don't know that much about Arashi...I'm still learning more stuff about them. I've just heard some of their songs and they were all good.

yeayea. the funny show is call D-no-Arashi. its really hilarious. if i'm not wrong jun and aiba are on the same group, while ohno and nino are on the other group, while sho is the host. they can stack a level up on that 'platform' when they win a test every episode.

like one group wans to test say... smells. so they test it with some meter from dirty socks to volcanoic sulphur and sewage. lol. this test is real, they DID go around testing smells - they do it by the amount of oxygen in the air. the lesser oxygen count, the smellier it is since bad smells are made up of bacteria. more bacteria = less oxygen = more smells. how come i'm explaining? :oops:

there's another episode where they asked a guy to hang on a bar to test if hanging on the bar(the kind to do chin-ups) will make one grow taller, due to the power of gravity. and that poor guy who hung there for 24 hours did manage to grow 1 bloody cm. :roll:

and the judge(who'd be some other celebrity) will judge see who's test is more 'interesting'. and the winning group gets to stack one platform higher. :D its AMAZING how they get such ideas isn't it?

interesting trivia: they leader, ono, he eats everything.

they did one experiment in this abandoned 20 year old house, trying to find out the extent of decay of the items in it. and they came up with canned food, coke and stuff like that. ono tried them all, without batting an eyelid no mater how gross they looked, after the items are left there to rot for 20 years. :roll:

and he said the coke tastes like... coke. like normal. :glug:

I agree with you...it is CUTENESS. it is one of the cutess drama I've seen and also the wierdest but it was still good. Jun is soo cute in it.

I loved this one part in the beginning when the girl had her hand out...it looked like she was asking for his 'paw' and Jun puts his hand in her hand, smiles and says "yes master" (I think that is what he says). that was such a cute scene.
other cute things Jun does... is jump on her to greet her when she comes home and lick/kiss her cheek when she is sad...

waa "my pet" or "kimi wa peto" is such a cute drama... those who haven't seen it should see it.

i'm an arashi fan too! started liking them since "how's it going?" album was released. my fave is sho but i've fallen in love with matsujun ever since he acted as sawada shin. lol. so far, i've only watched dramas by jun. tried watching stand up(nino) but it was a bore. gave up by the second episode. one of the reasons is cuz i can't understand jap nor read mandarin (chinese subs) so far, i think gokusen is the best drama acted by jun. followed by kindaichi. kimi wa petto is so-so. hana yori dango is so good. jun's a really good actor. hoping for season 2 but hope it won't be a disappointment like mg2. >.<
btw, is it just me or is the standard of the albums going deteriorating? the earlier albums were good, but now it seems like the songs are not that catchy(excluding the hit singles). but that's just my opinion.

I've only watched J dramas with MatsuJun as well, Gokusen and Hana Yori Dango. I love Jun as Sawada Shin and he is so adorable as Domyouji Tsukasa! :happy:

Lol...Sakura Sake is a great song. I'm trying to get ahold of their previous albums or at least the mp3 version fo the songs to know what they sound like. But Arashi is great.

I just think that it's really funny to watch Asian artists acting in dramas. There's just something about those kind of performances that are fun to watch, but when watching them on game shows is soo much better.

What do you guys think of Sho's new hairstyle? It reminds me of Energy's Kunda's hairstyle during the Final Fantasy album. Even as a Sho fan, I'm sorry to say that I prefer the hairstyle on Kunda rather than Sho. I prefer the Keio boy with shorter hair, like in Iza Now album. That's just my opinion.

arashi has a leader, that's o-chan. they call him "riida"(read: leader) affectionately. however, they claimed that he doesn't do much as a leader. haha.

i'm not sure why he's the one checking out venues. probably because he is good at these concert-related stuff? i mean, he was the one who thought of the moving stage, after all. or maybe because he is more well-known than the rest, having acted in a lot of dramas. so since they're sending him to taipei, they might as well get him to check out the venue right? but all these are only my guesses. i don't know what johnny-san has in mind.

OMG! Is it just me or did Jun announced that they will be having a concert in Taiwan during the interview at the red carpet? It sure sounded like it because he was saying something along the lines of "concert" (he spoke in mandarin, by the way). Can anyone confirm this? I don't speak Mandarin but based on my very limited Mandarin, it's something along that line. Lol.

Btw, Jun looked so scared while walking on the red carpet. The fangirls were screaming and he looked so vulnerable, as if afraid that someone was gonna throw something at him. LMAO.

Oh and I just saw a clip of Aiba-chan in Singapore Zoo. He came to Singapore in April?! Kyaaa!!! Anyone else knows about this? I'll be really devastated if I found out that he was in Singapore when i was in Japan, happily watching KAT-TUN's concert.

toraoh, i've already bought and watched the DVD. it's okay.. i found it a bit boring, it's not funny or anything.. the theme is dark, since its about sisterly love [actually thats what it was loosely translated as on my DVD lol].

if you really like to drool about Jun-kun, you may want to get it because he's hot in there.. but whether its a good movie or not, you've to really be able to interpret their themes and stuff cuz i found it too deep for the simple-minded person like me :tongue:.
