What do you guys think about the Ge Qian MV?

I love the part when Jay fell asleep (BTW, does anyone have a pic of that?)! Cute!
And when his so caring to the lead (When she held out her hands, and he hugged her... :excited: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) female... AHHH!!!
The other "mafia-girl" is a HK actress ne! And hmm... the lead looks quite young! But cute, nevertheless!
The specs and coat looks is supposedly a "shang-ban-ju" aka working man, but i reckon it looks more like those japanese high school students! At least, thats what i thought of when i first saw it!

I think GE QIAN is the best Jay mv yet. But of course, it's very much my personal preference. =)

Ever since I got 7LX, I've had Ge Qian on repeat (and it still is actually...) on my discman. And when the mv was released, I jumped for joy. It is just so amazing. Really. I loved the mv because of the great acting and storyline but especially the scene when the girl was crying whilst holding the two ice-cream cones. The female lead was great! She fit the role perfectly and really matched Jay too.

Overall, I really enjoyed the mv and it didn't really strike me as very dark but instead quite heart-warming and sweet. =*)

It's my favourite MV among all the others! I just simply love the storyline that Jay brought up to the director about the 3 roles that he's hoping to play -- a gangster, a volunteer worker, and someone from the working class.:realcool:

im probably wrong, but from what i gathered reading this thread, jay wants to quit the mafia and his girlfriend then is the daughter of the mafia head. he finds a job in the hospital where he meets the sick girl whom he falls in love with. but then the mafia daughter wants jay back, and the other girl sees them hugging and it breaks her heart.

what was the conversation in the flashback at the table?

I love the Ge Qian MV. Makes me wonder why the attendants are the local hospitals aren't anything like Jay. I will probably just fake some illness everyday just to get admitted into the hospital and in the process, get close to the Jay lookalike (if there were one). haha. hehe, alot of people seem to like this MV but I dun think many understand the story line
so ok, heres my take on it......

at the start his on a bike and is wearing a suit and drops his wallet indicates he loves her, a girl he remembers
then it goes to 3 years ago, when he was working in the hospital, where he meets the sick girl......who he falls 4 and takes her out sep she's not suppose to leave so he gives her his mask to hide her face so they can sneak out
But his old g/f walks past him and recognises him but she can't call out to him cause she's being excorted by some guy......

any ways then it flashes back to when he was with the mafia when he was with the other girl and he asked permission to marry her, obviously her family objects so he gets bashed.
he also already proposed when later she throws the ring bax... later after the girl in the hospital passes out and he carries her bax and she has an operation. After he waits 4 her to wake up but falls asleep. the girl wakes up and she decides to go get ice cream

In the mean time his ex fiance, that he obviously thought things were over with comes looking 4 him by herself with out a guard.......
She comes in the room wakes him, pounds him with her purse throws the ring at him, he tries to comfort her by reaching out to her, she slaps him away, but obviously she still loves him cause she leaps into his arms....Jay not certain wat to do hugs her bax....
thats when the other girls walks in c's them together and runs around the corner and cries

Jay all of a sudden turns around and notices that the door is open and wonders ...something, he goes out side either to look 4 her, or 2 c who came into the room..........

then ......( this is where some people get confused, his not going to skool, his got a white collar job, and rides a bike to work. which is sometimes common cause its easier to park and go through traffic and its cheaper and environment friendly....anways)

stopping at the trian track he reaches into his pocket, his wallet falls out to her pic, and he remembers her, and she's there across the train tracks and it leaves it there so people can wonder wat happens

4 got to add that after he was in the mafia (he left or was kicked out) he started working in the hospital
so if u think he 2 X the grils he didn't, he thought the 1st realtionship was over after he got bashed and the girl didn't really do anything to protest just left........

Well eva girl, I think you've forgotten the title of the song which is stranded.

The mafia guys beat him up and rejected the proposal on her behalf, she never did it herself. She may have loved him to death but it was the people who beat him up's decision. So it's hard for him to move away from that because they possibly love each other but something is keeping them from being together.

Years passed and he's found new love however she finds him. By the end he's STRANDED because he's attached to the girl he met at the hospital as she made such an attachment on him but, the old girlfriend now wants him back and he's stranded because he's in the hands of someone of the past and leaving the current girl suffering leaving no one really happy but the ex fiance.

That's just my perception of the scenario.

I have a different take in response to your above description. I don't recall Jay reaching his hands out to her. From what I recalled, I think it was the mafia girl who slapped him with her purse, threw the ring at him and then grab and hug him. I dont remember seeing Jay reaching out to her. It seems like, the mafia girl is still not over Jay and thats why she was pissed at him cuz Jay got a new girl. I think Jay is over the mafia girl cuz hes in love with the sick girl. You can tell that Jay was reluctant to hug her or want to have anything to do with her. He has moved on from his past and he just want to live a simple life and be with a simple girl whom he felt in love with.

So, in response to your perception of the scenerio of his past, what makes you think or give you the impression that they love each other. When I first watch the MV, I didnt know it was about Jay wanting to get approval from the mafia guy to marry the girl. I thought it was about Jay whom got punished by the mafia head for a wrong-doing to the mafia girl or something. But anyway, back to the title of the song; Stranded. I think he feels stranded due to the fact that the girl left him without telling him and he just wishes he has the chance to make her happy and take care of her if she was still with him. Deep down, he still loves her and he wanted to know where she is and how she is doing. That's why he still has her pic in his wallet. He prob feels guilty (as it was expressed in the lyric) for not being able to live up to something he prob promised her. Thats my analysis on the story behind the MV. From the way it was ended; it makes you wonder what will happened if they do see each other at the crossroad (that is if they do see each other) or what will happened if they dont see each other? Certainly gives a lot of room for imagination and questions such as:

1. Will fate bring them back together after 3 years?
2. Will fate make them not see each other on the street (not meant to be together)?

all in all, it can go either way and since its not revealed in the MV, you get to decide how you want the ending to be...and of course many of you (including myself) would love to see a happy ending since it was such a nice and sweet love story...but then again, this is a sad song, so only suits to have a sad story/ending...I donno...everything is up in the air if you ask me...

In the MV, I think its pretty clear how Jay feels about the new girl; thats his new found love and shes the one he wants to be with. But as for the mafia girl, it wasnt clear or at least it wasnt given in terms of how Jay feels about her. I am sure they used to be in love and the girl still loves and wants to be with Jay. On the other hand, it seems like Jay doesnt feel the same way. I don't think theres any unresolved issues with the mafia girl on Jay's part. It seems to me that Jay got over his past life (him being in the mafia and his relationship with the mafia girl). I donno, maybe there is, but I think the stranded and unresolved part is in regard to the new girl since she just left like that without saying a word.

I overlooked the captions in the MV, so I have to go back and rewatch it to see what they were saying. My interpretation of the mafia scene is that Jay was prob trying ask/tell the boss that he wants to get out of the mafia to live a simple life. As we all know, mafia doesnt let people leave so easily. By Jay requesting to leave the mafia, the boss sees it as a betrayal so they beat him up. As for the mafia girl, she prob knew about Jay wanting to leave, but couldnt do anything about it even though shes prob the sister of the boss.

I agreed with you on this...for sure he feels stranded and how he wishes he can explain things to the 2nd girl.

when I said wrong-doing, I wasnt refering to the girl, I was refering Jay's wrong doing to the mafia; in this case; him wanting to leave the mafia...

the hurt part he left is def towards the 2nd girl for the most part. with the Mafia girl, I think he just feels bad for leaving her in pursue of a simple life, cuz he knows that if he wants a simple life, he cant be with the mafia's sis...he wants nothing to do with the Mafia at all...

Of course, the MV is really good. I love that one. It's very very touching. Especially when Jay fell asleep, he looks cute of course. It shows a Jay who have some troubles between two girls. Jay acted really well in that MV. He expressed his sadness in the mv, and we can feel that./

She's so appreciative of what JAy did for her so seeing that Jay is still asleep, she went off to get the ice cream cones but saw the gal hugging Jay when she returns.
