Jay's competitor!

Was jus thinking of this question recently... Eversince Jay's new album Qi Li Xiang had been release, his sales had acheive good results which had plunge the top not only in taiwan G-music with the high percentage of 52.5%, also top in Singapore's RIAS... but now tat the popular boyband F4's Jerry Yan's album had been release, i personally think tat his popularity is about the same as Jay n might even be able to win Jay in the sales... which we can only wait n see the results... N i jus wanna noe of u Jay fans opinion of hu is a big competitor of Jay... perhaps like Jerry... popularity... though Jay might not lose to him too...

no one is really a big competitor of jay. Jay is a winner of his own unique music style and of course, his diao mumbling and his talented music skills. I say, jerry yen, is just another celeb who has short popularity span, he cant sing as well as Jay. 2nd, he look like a sissy. =X BUT HEY, thats wad i think, no offence or wadsoeva. the reason why he's getting attention is probably cuz its his 1st album to F4's group album. DEN, hard core F4 fans are waiting for him. thats why. i dun think he would be able to sell five records like Jay does and still manage to Top charts for every album.

i watched entertainment news the other day and he had lots of fans at his dunno wad preorder session...there were fans from all over the world!!

i think competition is everywhere, regardless of jerry's new album release. and i dun think jerry might win jay in the album sales. just look at the pre-order sales and you will know that jay's a pretty strong competitor. :D

i haven listen to his new songs yet, is there any improvement?

Same here thinking Jerry Yen is a strong competitor... I'm very worried and afraid that Jerry WILL overtake the sales of the QI Li Xiang with his YI gong chi... Jerry's singing skill did improve, and I can hear from that... His songs are nice too... and... Jay's not that bad tooo...!!

Personally, I don't think that Jerry Yan is such a good singer and I don't think he's a strong competitor to Jay but there are lots of people out there who like him so....you never know!

nah...i dun think jerry yan can beat our jay.....he dun even noes how to sing or compose or produce an album....he will nv beat jay music wise.....but popularity is diff......since f4 is quite popular among many girls (esp)....maybe they will be crazy enuf to spend money to buy his album....but since jay is popular among youngsters including boys and girls.....dun think jerry will be any threat to jay....

aniwea, David Tao? Nope Nope Nope, very different from Jay. Jerry Yen? even more cant be compared. David tao has his style of music while jay has his. they're VERY different. Jay can only break through his barrier of music by himself. cuz no one does the same style music like he does. and which we LOVE to bits. :happy:

it's sad but jerry's fans would buy his album just to support him - they loved him despite his poor acting ( in the kitchen movie with sammy cheng - its' a lousy movie ) , his horrible dancing ( worse than jay's ha. ha. ) and his very weak vocals. but his album will be loved by his females fans - containing surupy love songs . jerry fans are fanatical - remember them buying up all the business class seats to accompany him to jordan for the pepsi cm ?

theres no competetion for artists when release a album. i think that they care more about their good work then competetion. :-) :-)

Only Jay can beat Jay. But yeah he is really popular, but that's because he's all cool and stuff. but i found out that most people that knows F4 said that he's the worst singer out of the 4 of them. so yeah. but there's another guy called Guo Ping Chao (Dylon Kuo) and he says he can beat Jay AND Jerry. well last time i checked the charts which was a few days ago, Jay is still on #1, and he's not even on the Top 5!! so ha ha. Only Jan can beat Jay. don't worry!!

Well, I can say in terms of popularity, in Asia, Jerry would pose a big threat to Jay when Jerry release his album. Why? Those F4 fans, and Jerry Fans will flood the music store, buy his CDs just for the sake that they are F4 or Jerry's fans...Jerry's release is just another strategy to boost the currently bad music economy in Taiwan...But well, as we all know...Talent will alway prevail to popularity....we'll see....

Upon mentioning of Dylan, he was able to release an album due to a song he sang in the "Outsider" OST. I've listened to 2 of his songs...very very very average....no idea why he was able to cut an album....

When singers release an album, they will hope that their album will sell very good, cause that's the best way reflecting acceptance of your work...If you have good music but very poor sales....it's useless....Good music need good sales figures....
Imagine if 5 years ago, no one bother to listen to Jay's music and slowly accept his style, there won't be "Diao" today....he'll onli be "diao" in his 4x4 big cubical workplace, still writing songs like a machine....Sorry if I offended anyone...

er. i don't think jerry will beat jay in cd sales. but it doesn't really matter. jay fans will always be jay fans even if, one day, he isn't as popular anymore.

Comparing their talents, who do you think is more talented? :wink2: In my opinion, Jerry fans come mostly from girls i suppose, somehow his 'shuai qi' win the girls' hearts. But for Jay, it is just different. Hehez...any jerry fans here? I hope you don't get offended. :-) Has jerry help anyone write songs before or write his own song, i'm not his fan, so i dunno. But having this talent is a very good selling point. of course, this is only my opinion.

Plus there won't be any hard feelings between the two. They play bball together.

Well so much for that, haha. Jerry Yan's album superceeded Jay's in album sales for first week. That being said, Jerry's album isn't even 1/4 as good in terms of quality and effort used to produce the album compared to Jay's 7LX.
