[SG Talk] What do you think about the theatre scene in singapore

Well.. i was just curious if anyone goes to theatre productions in singapore.. coz i personally work freelance (aside from school) in theatre so interested to see what do you guys think about the theatre scene in singapore...

we could gossip about theatre actors and their gayness too :shifty:

hoha, i haven been to many productions...but i think there hven been many producctions which are widely advertised, probably due to the lack of funds or stuff? i was mostly introduced to the plays becasue i'm a literature and occasionally my teachers would advise us to go for soem particular plays because we're sytudying that particular book or something.

anyway.. they ARE.. you just have to see them when they are more relaxed during rehearsals..

I was involved in the uni's theatre, and we did an event in Victoria Theatre. I've also seen Chang and Eng and several other shows. I think they are pretty good.

The few male artistes I've met personally, well, they pratically scream 'GAY'..... right from a far...... :laughing:

i haven watched much. only like a Macbeth 2 yrs ago? and a Of Mice and Men play ... and a Twelfth night production by a JC i fogot :P

i don't know.. i thought theatre isn't much of an attraction to most singaporeans.. maybe if i had created a thread about movies.. i'd get lots of responses.. *shrugs*

I don't really go for the threatre plays, because i am not really up-to-date about such performances, and by the time I heard about it, the show is either booked or over :cry:

But I like to go for the music composition competitions, like the ones organised by NTU and NUS and the campus concerts. I like to hear creative works by Singaporeans. :happy:

no, but i quite enjoed the few plays that i went to. was really cool and really wow-ed me! :D i tink theatre is really cool cos its like all about responding on the spot if something goes wrong and cos everything is LIVE, the voice projections must be really good! :D
