Ahhh, where do you guys download it from?? I caught a couple episodes of it on TV when I was in Taiwan, and I thought it was pretty interesting. Maybe you have to get into more episodes to get into the plot? I think it was pretty popular in Taiwan, so it can't be too boring. :silly:

Maybe I just watched a few seconds here and there and just the mention of love contract makes me so confused..probably I have not seen the 1st episode..but last night, I saw it, it was the 3rd episode and found it quite interesting.. I dunno..the plot would seem a bit oldish..in this series, the female lead, Xiao Feng is a tomboy and likes to play tricks on this guy, Ken (the male lead of cos). I think Ken wants to ask her out to a movie so that he can "sign" the love contract and get more members in his swimming team? :? not too sure.. hmm would like to watch how both parties become attracted to each other.. :love: But I think it's beginning to look more interesting as the plot moves... :)

Btw, the casts are from "7th year student", including the fe/male lead. "Ken" sometimes host "Entertainment News" on TBVS.

I'm watching it now, on tvbs. Its kinda slow, hopefully the pace will pick up in the coming episodes. Ah Ken's (Xiaomei) so gets to me, he's like cool, broody yet faints after donating blood. :laughing: I thought his mum was kinda weird. Its like she doesn't seem like a mum at all, with her befriending Xiao Feng and all. His uncle (that Japanese guy) is fun to watch though, with all that "Ken chan" calling he does.

hmm...i pretty much dislike Xiaofeng now. She's so bossy and irritating that its getting on my nerves.

Ah Ken's mom was so cool last night, episode 4. She's young, she acts cute, she even go to the arcarde.....so energetic and sporting....unlike someone I know :whistle: well, maybe that someone is just alot older than Ken's mom :P

Also, luckily, Ken came to her "rescue" =P wonder what will happen tonight. I think in this type of show, the couple will start off as loggerheads and slowly they begin to have a liking for each other..I find kinda cute when Xiao Feng kept making fun of Ken. =P Opposites attract. *wink*

For those of you who, like me, have been wondering what this show is about, I read this article from The New Paper (if you're from Singapore) which introduces this show. Here it is...

When a tomboy falls in love

She must be Taiwan's answer to Korea's My Sassy Girl. In the new idol drama, Love Contract, Lin Yi Chen plays a tomboy with the face of an angel and the temper of the devil.

Xiao Feng flies into a rage at the sligest provocation. She yells like a mad woman, whacks guys with her Kendo sword, and doesn't hesistate to bite the hands of those who dare to oppose her.

One day, however, she meets her match - in a brooding and suave "water monster".

So nicknamed for his strict demands on the swim team, swimming coach Ken (Mike He) is perhaps the first guy who is bold enough to challenge her to a duel.

And so it begins the game of love-and-hate between two people who are so diametrically opposite in character.

When she jumps onto his back in anger, he sweeps her off her feet and throws her into the water.

When he gives her the kiss of life to resuscitate her from a drowning incident, she opens her eyes and punches him instead.

I must say, watching them fight it out is excellent entertainment!

Their bickering is the main attraction in this drama, which revolves around the lives if a group of friends who belong to the same Kendo club.

Light-hearted and heartwarming, it aptly captures the views and perceptions if young people towards friendship and love.

Some are dreamy while others are practical. Some are shy to express themselves while others boldly declare their feelings. Some are determined while others are indecisive.

But at the end of the day, even the most tomboyish of them is but a normal girl yearning for love.

As for the true meaning behind the title, Love Contract, you'll have to watch patiently and find out for yourself.

i haven't seen it but i think the guy is really cute. i find a lot of taiwan dramas aren't worth watching though. my favorite was "at the dolphin bay". however i really like the theme song of "love contract", "zhong jian" by liang jing ru.

Ok I've just watched one episode and I have to say I think Xiao Feng is really annoying, loud and irritating. Reminds me of that super annoying character the actress played in that My Secret Garden. :oops: I didn't watch that show, but I saw parts of it, man, is she only capable of playing these bossy annoying roles? I hope it gets better soon.

Well, the 2 guys, Ah kai and Xiao Bai got Ah ken to sign the contract so they would get team members for his swimming team, and he would go out with Xiao Feng. Ah ken's pretty crazy about swimming and setting up the team (the in-charge gave him a wk to find members i think) and so he thought what the heck just go for a movie with the girl and that's it. but apparently he's finding it hard to keep to the contract. (not as if the 2 guys have found any members yet).
But from yesterday's episode, Ah ken and xiao feng are starting to feel something for each other.

Yeah....finally someone has started a thread on this drama serial..Had tot everyone's just interested in Xiaomei (the guy who starred as Ken) and not the serial. :tongue:

I like this serial alot! Haha...I think I have a soft spot for such shows whereby the leads are initially at loggerheads but then slowly...chemistry started to take effect between the two of them...cos that really shows that fate/destiny plays a major part.

I think the funniest parts are when Xiaofeng tries all means and ways to pull pranks on Ken. :bleh: You really have to hand it to her for such 'brilliant' ideas..haha...but then slowly u all will realise that she has her reasons for doing that.... :cry:

Ok I've watched up to episode 9 and am I the only one who thinks it's kinda....boring? :? I think the whole love contract premise is stupid, I mean WHY are they so eager to get them together?? :glug: It doesn't make sense and not much happens in the rest of the plot either except the fact that we know the two leads are supposed to get together but due to stupid stubbornness of one or both parties, they won't get together until the end of the series. :rolleyes: Someone tell me it'll get better than this because I don't really care about any of the characters at this point, and Xiao Feng still gets on my nerves.

Nope, they're supposed to get together very soon. Coz there's so many kissing scenes between the leads that yeah, they can't be leaving that till the last few epsiodes.

I thought its been pretty ok up to now. The story's so-so, but the way they filmed it, the setting (Ken's house!) and the colours etc are all pretty nice!

I wanted to set up a thread when the show previewed in Malaysia...but Malaysia is rather slow...so hisashi already posted this up...anyway....I remember watching the first episode...and then they wil show little bits of what will happen in the next episodes...and I saw xiao feng's elder sister asking xiao feng 'Wo hui bu hui shi ah?' meaning 'Will i die?' or something like that...

and then there was one where Xiao Feng came to the Entertainment News studio!YES! :crazy: the real life one and started disrupting it!

I've watched it! I've watched it! :yeah: Finally after so many days of waiting and listening to all the discussion about this show, I've finally finished downloading the first 19 episodes. Initially, I was kinda dissappointed coz of the snail pace of this show. :sleeping: However, things started heating up when Ken likes XIao Feng. :excited:

I like the part where they were at the rooftop (or wherever) eating the bento that Ken's mommy had prepared for them and then they started talking about their mommies trying to set them up and they were like, "Like as if we will like each other" or something like that. Then I can't remember what Xiao Feng said but in reply, Ken was like, "What if I tell you that I have feelings for you?". :crazy: Oh man, at that point of time, my heart stopped beating while waiting for Xiao Feng's reply to that. Hiaz... but in the end, she only smacked his head and said, "That'll never happen". I felt so sad for Ken. :cry:

Actually last night, I wanted to stop at the episode just before they kissed at the bar coz it was already very late and I still have to work today. However, when I saw that they were going to kiss in the preview, I couldnt resist and thought I will just watch another episode. Awww, the kiss was so so so sweet. I could feel myself melting. Hahaha! and the part where Ken was watching XIaofeng sleep? God, he looks so cool and did you notice the look on his face? :love: I can seriously fall in love with this guy man! But when Xiao Feng woke up and she just brushed off the matter of the kiss, I was like Argghhh! This woman does not know what is good for her. :realmad:

Ok. So I couldn't resist and I started going on to the next episode after the kiss. I can't help it. I simply have to find out when they'll officially be together. Xiao Feng just kept pushing him away. What's wrong with her? Doesn't she see how cool and suave Ken is? His answer to Mu Tou's dig at him not being romantic or mysterious enough to be the mystery guy who gives XIao Feng the lunches was absolutely awesome. :thumbsup: I almost did a standing ovation when he said, "Yah, I'll be open about it and bring it straight up to her". I'm seriously falling bad for this guy! :huglove:

How come everyone seems to be falling for Xiao Feng and no one seems to be falling for Ah Ken? Oh, am I the only one here who seems to think that Ken looks like Shi Bin from certain angle (though he is ALOT better looking than SHi Bin) and Eddie Kwan from some other angles? Wait, what is Ken's real name?

Erm... did I spoil the show for the rest of you with my ramblings? Sorry if I did. But I have no idea where you guys watched till and I am dying to talk about my thoughts on this show after having been deprived of it for the past few days. Not sure if u have watched till that part but the reason y Xiaofeng has been rejecting Ken is because of an incident which happened while she was young and that incident caused her to develop an inferior complexity since....But she's actually falling in love with Ken unconsciously...the more she tries to resist and hide her true feelings, the faster and deeper she sinks into it...I feel. :happy:

ya, the good part of the series doesn't really start til' the middle~ ... when Xiao Feng and Ken get together~ =D it's a really sweeet series though! I recommend it =D although, some of the episodes.... i didn't really understand? some didn't flow w/ the others... ~ but overall, still think it's worth watching =D n' dunno if it's just mee... but if you keep on watching, you might be able to take your eyes off of KEN... he gets cuter n' cuter~ heheh

I've finished watching the whole series and I think this show is real lame. Ok. I know i'm being contradicting here coz I was all excited over this show before this. But then, I realised something I hate while watching this show - they try to fit in too many stories into this show. Thus, Xiaofeng and Ah Ken's screen time together is really little. And imagine, I have to sit through 1 whole episode before I get to see the both of them together for that 10mins. And there are times when i don't even get to see them together in 1 whole episode. So in the end, I was fast forwarding lots of parts. :-x

And I don't understand why some of the things that happened in the series have to happen. I mean, why did they put those things in? It doesn't seem to have much to do with the show. They are just sabotaging my chance of seeing more of Ken! And the ending! WHY?? What are they trying to say?? :worry:

Exactly, jakinni!!! After watching it, I told my friend(he was the one who recommended me this show) the exact thing like how I don't understand why they have to include the bartender's story in, the parent's story in and the sister! she does not even have a proper ending. So what's the point? And why does some of them have to die? duh! And my friend was like, "Is it? I thought those have to happen coz the stories are inter-related." so I was like, "like how are they inter-related?" and that lust-filled himbo said, "Aiyah, there's Lin Yi Cheng mah..." Gah! Ok. I admit that I'm overcome with lust where Ken is concerned too.. but at least I'm smart enough to ff the parts without him! And jakinni, I don't freakin understand the ending!! I haven't finished watching it but i already know the ending. So about the ending, there's supposed to be 3 endings.
1) Ken brings Xiaofeng to the beach to commit suicide together so they both die
2) Xiaofeng wakes up
3) They live happily ever after, as though the accident didn't happen (tt's why Xiaobai was there again)

Something like that, though i thought its kinda urgh....unneccessary. Why do shows always have to end with a tragedy. and yeah, i ff all the parts about Xiaofeng's parents.

btw: why the heck does Ken's uncle want to go to Thailand to learn english? :glug:

I don't understand what happened at the end though, so Xiao Feng woke up when they were in the water or was that an "imaginary/hallucinatory" thing too? :? Anyway, like Cheyanne, I found it totally unnecessary for people to die in this show. It's like why?! For what purpose?! Especially what happened in the last few episodes. They couldn've ended it without all that. It just felt like a tag on ending just to make it more dramatic, which annoyed and bored me. Oh and I found the whole wig wearing thing very stupid too. And Xiao Feng has such a bad attitude, gets sooo mad so easily over such little things. :rolleyes: And Ken, he wasn't very interesting either. Basically there was no plot except the whole love contract premise which was dumb to begin with. :rolleyes: Ok ok, I've seen worse shows than this, it's just that I expected something better.

Xiaomei's his nickname from high school, if I remember correctly. As to how this nickname comes abt, I cant really remember. Think its to do with some male artiste in the Taiwanese entertainment scene who used to dress up as a girl on tv and Ken either resembled that guy when he's himself or when that guy was acting as girl....and the name of the guy was Xiaomei or something... :?

But the director knows that some viewers are bound to be unhappy....Why do they have to die?? Why cant Xiaofeng wake up in the end?? Bla bla...thats y the director carried the show further and showed that Ken and Xiaofeng to be married in the other world, happy ever after. But both of them missed their friends alot...thus when all of them finally gathered tog, oni Ken, Xiaofeng and Xiaobai were holding onto red/pink (cant really recall now) dolphins...That symbolises the 3 of them are now dead and are people of the other world now....

I know this may be hard to understand...IMO, y cant Xiaofeng wake up in the first place? In actual fact, I dun understand why Xiaofeng has to meet with an accident in the first place.... :worry:

Yeah, i thought the ending was pretty crappy and that it was unnecessary for Xiaofeng to meet with an accident. I think Taiwanese script writers think that by doing so, we'll cry buckets of tears for Xiaofeng and commit such an unfortunate end to such a beautiful story to memory. Which is wrong, unfortunately, coz such endings are so so cliched and i honestly expected so much more from this show coz it got me hooked from the front.

The last or 2nd last episode's showing today on tvbs54. and i am so NOT looking forward to it... :glug:

I'm trying to figure out how in the world those guys from the other forums knows what the red/pink dolphin symbolises? Tells how crappy the show is if you need the director to explain to you what the show is trying to say. Duh! And what kind of crap to have friends in the after world and earth gathering together. Talk about total lameness. Didn't it ever occur to the script writer that if they did not include the unnecessary part of XiaoFeng being a living vegetable, they'll not even have to go through the trouble of having to explain the dumb and totally confusing ending. And who in the world will be able to figure out about the dolphin thingy on their own?? Bah!

:dry: Well, I had a pleasant time watching Love Contract. If i did watch the whole thing that is. I always have lots of obstacles stopping me from watching this tv drama which i'm quite a fan of.

I only watched the first episode, a few in the middle and yesterday's episode(in Malaysia) was about Xiao Feng in that accident.

Anyway, Ken looks good eh? :brows: I knew a lot of people who watches this series will fall for Ah Ken. I liked the parts where he and Xiao Feng kissed. :love: It was great watching them make out because I won't be jealous and they make it seem so natural.

:cry: Xiao Feng is quite pitiful from the episode I watched yesterday. She couldn't do anything at all, no reactions. Ah Ken was being so sweet. I couldn't keep my eyes off the tv.

After finish watching the show just now. I can say, the script the front part was ok. But the middle and end was crap! It was like v draggy. Like she wants to be with him, then don't want. OH man.... i just finished the series and i was like.... "What a crappy ending!!!" I mean... if you want them to die.... then just simply end at the part where Ken carried Xiao Feng into the sea.. Why bother to add the other part where Xiao Bai Si Er Hou Sheng (revived from the dead)... I can accept it better if Xiao Bai didn't come into the picture at the very last part... What a waste of a good starting... the middle was okay... but for me, the ending really spoil the show... :(

uhm it's interesting to see diffrent opinion on this drama. I personally like it. it develops kinda slow i think, so i wasn't really into it at first. I just finish watching it yesterday btw (hehe watch the whole series in one day... a reward for myself after midterm ^^)

I really love this show when I just started on it. It seems to be a comedy romantic. But as the story developed on, it became a bit nonsensical to me. Still I like episode 1 to 10 and Lin Yi Chen and He Jun Xiang really have the chemistry! My feeling for this show is treading a thin line on like and dislike. :wacko:

I love the first 20 episodes of this drama. They were great, so romantic, so sweet, so sassy. BUT OMG, the last 2-3 episodes need to BURN IN HELL. I dont know what the writers were thinking..obviously THEY were the "vegetables" because the ending was :locked:. It was depressing, unclear, and it had a completely different atmosphere/feeling from the rest of the episodes. Just SOOOOOO inconsistent.

If anyone is still interested in watching this drama, after all the criticizing that we've done on this forum, do yourself a favor and watch only the first 20 episodes. You can make your own ending with your creative imagination. Trust me, whatever you come up with will be better than what the writers came up with :rasp:

i WAS planning on giving this series another shot after i've recently decided that he jun xiang was pretty cute after all.....

he's a big emotional softie - he CRIED twice on happy sunday!!!
though the part where he met his old teachers was pretty touching.....he used to be top student in his school - model student in fact, since he was good at sports, as well as academically. didn't hurt that he was good looking too....
but then somewhere along the line, he turned rebellious, stopped studying, and did really badly in his exams, and these 2 teachers had to write reccommendations for him so that he could go from 'guo zhong' to 'gao zhong' (high sch)....

but hm....it seems like everyone thinks this series is pretty bad...so perhaps not.

If you like He Jun Xiang, this show is a must watch. He looks great with Lin Yi Chen. I really like the story it is the ending that put me off. Watch it and judge for yourself. :-)

awww, i've started watching it, and I'm more than halfway through the entire show. I agree that there really isn't a "plot", but it's so interesting and cute the way Xiao Feng and Ken interact and fall in love. they (Ariel lin and Mike he) have really good chemistry on screen. i love the scenes where they hang out, and i always wish that i were xiao feng. they make the scenes look fun and everything, thats what i like about this show.

I think this film is more 'artsy'...
There were three endings at the end.

The first ending shows ah ken carrying xiao feng into the water...then they fade away...which meant they committed suicide. Which IS sad because what if xiao feng DOES wake up, and its wrong anyway because xiao feng might not want to die!!

The second ending it shows xiao feng saying 'wait!' and they both come running and playing and la de da lots of fun. Which meant that they are happy they are/have been together even though they are dead.

The third ending it shows ah ken saying 'wait!' and they come running down in wedding clothes. xiao bai is also there (he's dead remember?) so they are in heaven.

personally...i hated the ending. especially the committing suicide bit. And how ah ken kept telling xiao feng to speak & wake up and her 'spirit' keeps coming up & hugging him telling him its alrite...I kept thinking she came back alive but then it was only an illusion. Overall the last episode really pissed me off. haha!

I just finished to watch the whole drama and it left me a weird feeling...

It's one of the worst serials I've ever watched...

The first episodes were so boring, it got better around episode 5-6, when Ken started to show some interest towards Xiao Feng, but it was still boring, things are going so slow...
And it seems like the story is sometimes more focused on the other characters' life than Ken & Xiao Feng's...

Yeh, what about Doris' story?! kinda useless :/

Even though I didn't like the part with Xiao Feng's sister and Simon, it wasn't useless, as Xiao Feng could see that love isn't always happy (even if she already knew that with her parents, but she still had hope, whereas she hated the fact that her sister kept thinking about Simon...)...

About her secret condition, it was weird... and her reaction at the beginning, at the bar, not well played, over-acting, or was it the character who overreacted?

I found stupid the fact that she wanted to break up with Ken because of her scar, she knew that day would come if she dated him, she could be shy about it, but breaking up ^^"

I'll skip to the end which was the worst ending I've ever seen. I usually don't like endings, they almost never end the way I'd like them to end, but they're ok, acceptable with time lol! BUT here !!! it was very crappy AND creepy !!!
The suicide thing? -______- How can he decide on other's people death?! I'm not chocked by that though, but by the fact that it kinda shows a psychological instability, so creepy argh! :/ even if that's due to Xiao Feng's state. And the scar? even worse !! creepy again ! Who would really do that, I thought, oh my god, he's gone insane :/
That was the thing that left me a weird feeling......
Then, when she woke up (this 2nd ending), it was like a joke ! that sucked... and the fake scar?! how could someone already so sad, and desperate do such a thing? even for touching her... and yes, like someone said it earlier (or 2years ago lol), normally she couldn't be able to stand, to walk...
Then, the wedding, that was ok, if only there wasn't Xiao Bai... and even if all that meant that the accident never happened it would suck, a whole episode of sadness, a year! for that?!
But I liked how Mike was at the end, with his "yes" sign lol ^^

I liked the fact that Ken's family was japanese, switching languages and so on ^^ famous "Ken-chan" lol ^^

Yeh! What with the uncle, wanting to learn english in Thailand? don't ask for United States or England, but at least say Singapore, it's not as if they were going to film a scene abroad, wouldn't cost them anything...

The whole show, the way things were going so slow, carried on a melancholy feeling, sad, with all these death, useless death (Tom, Ken's mother, them)... kinda pessimistic towards love despite the title, Tom&Doris, Xiao Yun&Simon, Xiao Feng's parents, Ken's mother and Ken's father... even from the start, with the opening theme, I was surprised, didn't match with the title lol ^^"

Now let's talk about the characters...
Xiao Feng's character is horrible, I so hate her! annoying, getting angry for nothing, yelling for nothing, like when Ken was saying "yi er yi er" -1, 2, 1, 2-)... wanted to slap her (the character ! I'm ok with Ariel lol)... So arrogant too, thinks that everyone is her property, commanding them and so on...
Ken's character is ok, not too nice, not too mean. Creepy in the end though. Liked the scene when he was crying while cooking :)
So after all I've said, I should have stopped watching the show way before the ending, but it was for Mike, and I had faith in the show's improval, I was wrong...

I prefered Mike in Devil Beside You ^^

i think what happens is that ken had proposed to Xiao Feng, and then he commits suicide and then Xiao Feng kills herself when she finds out, which might explain why Xiao Bai is there when there is the wedding. but everyone else is there too, so it is a bit confusing...

my other conclusion is that Ken was just getting rid of his anger(since in the MV they dont show him jumping off any building or anything...) and Xiao Feng finds him and they get married, but then it doesnt explain why Xiao Bai is there. BUT i saw Xiao Bai towards the middle of the last ep. when all of Xiao Feng's friends were making a play for her*sigh* its very confusing...

i love the osts. i like mike's acting more in love contract than in devil beside you. everything made sense. (except the very end, with 3 alternate endings ~_~) the beginning episodes were a bit slow, but after that, i liked the pace ^_^

i didnt really like this show b/c its very confusing. and i didnt understand the ending at all until my friends told me he commited suicide. and i didnt believe it. its not a very worthwhile watch, other than the good beginning and ending songs.. hahha
