[TW Drama] Mars/Zhan Shen (Zaizai & Da S) *possible spoilers*

The new Taiwanese show called 戰神/Zhan Shen/Mars starring Vic Zhou (Zaizai) and Da S has just started to air in Taiwan, at one episode per week. :oops::sweat: They've aired 2eps so far, don't know how many episodes in total, although the 2 episodes corresponds exactly to Vol 1 of the Japanese manga, and there are 15 Vols in all with the 16th Vol as an extra.

Mars: The God of War in Greek mythology, is supposed to be the "dark hero who leads everyone to breakthrough their tragedies".

More about the show?
Frankly I don't know much more about it and didn't want to spoil myself beyond the episodes showing since the one show/week thing might drive me crazy if I know what's coming up. But from the previews and the first couple of episodes, it's about (romance of course) motorcycle racing, Zaizai looking hot in red, rape and suicidal issues. :ohmy: Psst! Zaizai seems to appear as twins! :D

2 Main Characters:
Chen Ling (Zaizai) is the motorcycle racer, cool, handsome, jokster, player, popular guy at school. But of course he's got his issues. :rolleyes: I have to say he's improved a lot in regards to acting, much more expressive and cheeky, but maybe that's just that this character permits it. :tongue:

Qi Luo (Da S) is the artist, shy, loner girl at school. She apparently had been the victim of some kind of rape/sexual assault so she's very introverted. Well she definitely is no Shan Cai here, but of course opposites attract. :rolleyes:

Yeah, there are similarities, but I'd say his arrogance/personality doesn't come from the fact that he's rich, since he chooses to live on his own in a dingy apartment.

I even really like the opening theme song! At first I didn't like the high pitch in some parts, but it really grows on you and it fits the story well. I find myself rewatching the theme song a few times, trying to get more out of the show. Yes I'm a nerd. :tongue:

I feel your pain. :console: But since you already know what's going to happen, maybe it's not as bad? Perhaps you should look into something like BitTorrent?? There's a thread in the Small Talks about it, it's really the only way to go for downloading these big movie/tv show files. Don't ever have to worry about starting over. :D

Yes definitely download BT again. It's not hard to figure out, trust me. I had the same problem at first too, I just didn't get it, but it all became so clear very fast. And never looked back since! Feel free to ask me if you have questions.

Haha, I already watched the 2nd episode like earlier this week. That's why I've been counting down the days to the 3rd episode! Actually now even though I should be studying, I'm counting down the hours, like TW is exactly 12hrs ahead of me, so it's ONLY 2:20pm there, and the show doesn't air until 11pm, plus the encoding and uploading/downloading, another 12 hours to go!! :cry::oops:

Perhaps because it's already only one episode a week, if they make the episodes even shorter the fans will really be crying. Other "lesser" dramas are usually shown on consecutive weeknights if I'm not mistaken. Only some of the more highly anticipated ones are shown so spread out right?

Ok I just watched it!!!!! Wow I really liked Qi Luo in this episode, she's become so brave and outspoken towards Ling!! I love the part where she was telling that guy who stole her painting to give back the draft because she wanted to give something back to Ling after all that he's done for her! Awww!!

I liked that there was alot more interaction and talking between Ling and Qi Luo, showing character development and makes it believable that they'd fall for each other.

And I also thought ZZ looked so manly in that big and violent fight with those bullies, except near the end where they just took turns hitting each other in the face, now that wasn't necessary. >< Whole time I was thinking but but his lovely face!! ><;;.

Oh and haha I loved how Ling handled that teacher/advisor saying his dreams for the future is to be surrounded by plenty of women and enjoying life.

And it looks like it's already up to the part where he reveals about his brother and how he died. Poor guy!!!

Oh my god!! This is pure torture.... Waiting every week to download just one episode of the show and the downloading will take about one day and I'll finish watching it in an hour and then I'll have to wait for another 7 days which is 168hours which is 10,080 minutes (erm... I shall not go into the seconds..) before I can download the next epsiode and the whole cycle repeats itself for the next did someone mention 13 episodes? Hiaz... I can't take it anymore!!! woohoo!!!..it's so nice...but it was kinda freaky when kirishima a.k.a tong dao sneaked into the room and got ling's detail...the nicest part was when ling and qi luo became closer to each other...i think that da ye is a cute guy..lolz...he looks like a japanese...in the first episode, i really like the part when ling disturbed qi luo as she did not answer any of his questions..ling said "Di da di da di da, i'm talking to u now, u don't u answer me"...his poor friend ended up with white dust on his head...lolz..and ling is way too cute when he was playing basketball with da ye...those girls were drooling also...their very first kissing scene was in episode if i'm not mistaken...i was really heart-broken (even though i'm not qi luo) when ling said the kiss did not bring any meaning to him...then the part when ling fought with ah bin (steven from machi), it was real cool!!!...i was like..*Go go go!!..kick him!!!..arrghhh..beware!!!..look-out!!!*...i admit that i like to look his face in anger...so manly...well, i'm really eager to watch episode 4 as rei and sei will appear at the same time!!!..oooh...what a perfect twins...

I love that kiss between them too at the end of episode 2!!! And I so wanted him to kiss her again when they were at his apartment and sitting on his bed. So easy to just lie down on that comfy looking bed. :whistle: And don't you think Tong Dao looks like a male version of Qing Mei? :glug: Seriously, go take a look at their pics on the first page of the thread where the character descriptions are! So he's got the hots for Ling eh? I saw some kind of kiss or attempted kiss in the intro song. Also it seems like Ling gets jealous or something with Tong Dao talking to Qi Luo in the art room, yes I've over analyzed the intro clip due to extreme deprivation!!!! :cry: I like how in this show it seems it's not going to take them the ENTIRE series to get together, they'll get together soon I think and hope and deal with problems together. I so want to see double Vic too when the twins thing come out!!!!!! SO CUTE!!!

AHHH i finally watched the first episode. i was trying to put it off for when i'm bored to death, but it was so tempting, having that nice file sitting there untouched in my documents. vic's acting has improved so much. if someone had told me that while i was watching MG I&II, i would've said they were hallucinating. but wow. two thumbs and two big toes up for him :] that thing with vic while he was buying beer.. that was creepy.

remember the part when ling brought da ye and qi luo to the cafe???..he was helping da ye to woo qi luo....remember his expression when qi luo agreed to go out for a date with da ye??...OMG!!.. :sadangel: ..he was just pretending that he was happy for da ye...awww...so sad...and da ye was really happy!!!...everytime when qi luo is in danger, ling turns up to be her saviour!!!...erm..lets count how many times he has saved qi luo...
1) Sexual harassment on qi luo by that english teacher.. :-x
2) The part when qi luo was bullied by qing mei at the rooftop..
3) Qi Luo was threatened by Qing Mei to broke her hand with a huge stone.

mein, was that manga spoilers in your second part of your posts? I briefly glanced but was afraid to spoil myself since I didn't read it. Ok I read up to the part where his ex-girlfriend comes looking for him but that was in summary and not in detail and oh also the part where he remembers that their father is not their real father. :glug: . So yeah, that's all I remember, and I don't want to know more!! :oops: Kick myself for even reading that far, but that was before I watched the show and was just curious what the heck it was about.

And back to spoilers from the last 3 episodes:
Yes I remember his expression!!! hahah, and what about him eating noodles by himself afterwards when Qi Luo and Da Ye were out on a date, looking miserable. Teehee! Oh and and what about the part where he threatened Qing Mei about killing her if she does anything more to Qi Luo, wow, so manly and believable!!! :love: I know, I'm nuts for liking a violent personality like that. :tongue: See the previous 2 episodes were about him saving her and this last episode was about her saving him. They're perfect for each other! Oh and I just remember, how about in episode 3 in the cafeteria where he was trying to pretend he doesn't care about Qi Luo by being a player and hanging out with his ex-girlfriend and then he said that mean thing to her about only sleeping with her because that's all they can do together. :laughing: And then him looking longingly at Qi Luo as she left. Ai, silly boy, just get together with her and be done with it! :)

1) i think chen ling is SCHIZOPHRENIC or something o_O
2) every new character that comes up has this freaky CREEPINESS to them. i swear, every character is kind of scary, except for da ye.
3) speaking of da ye, doesn't he remind you of a skinnier, dorkier version of BRIAN JOO? or am i crazy

babyvx, yeah I agree, it is a dark show, and serious too. But I like it, I like these better than the silly ones just out to get a cheap laugh. Can already get those from variety shows so no need for that in dramas too. I'm glad it's a story I can get into. And you're right about all the characters being kinda creepy or having a dark side. But I guess that's what makes them interesting. I say Vic did a good job showing that scene buying beer, it totally was convincing.

mein, Yes that teacher is creepy. I like the little high five he gave her afterwards the stuff on the black board, haha, that was cute! I like the scenes in the intro where he hugs her too, or him racing, that looks so cool! :love:

I started watching that show too cause of zz. At first i was skeptical about it but after watching the third ep (yes I watched the 3rd ep first), I was totally hook onto it. It looks like a thriller/suspense show the way how they film it. I didn't read the magma but from what i read online, it's quite interesting and not like the previous idol shows. It explores deeper and darker themes rather than just simple love.

babyyxv: yes, each character is creepy one way or another. Like Barbie said something like each person in this world is creepy but they tries to hide it with their outter appearance. Prove how screw up this world could be it, eh

Aisha is the one who joined "Super Sunday" to qualify as one of the Sunday girls'. Can't remember the exact story but I think in the end, the remaining four will form a group called Sunday girls. If I didn't remember wrongly, she was the one who joined in after one of the qualifiers had to drop out due to some reasons... Think the group has since split.... Anyway, while I was watching the contest, she was not the one that I was rooting for. There was another cuter girl... Ah, but Aisha seems to be the only survivour among them. I know I'm getting out of point... but anyway, what I wanted to say was, I like the episode of fanfanrun after Mars episode 1. The part where aisha tried on zaizai's helmet and when she removed it, her hair was messy and zaizai helped her to smooth it down?? God!!!! I was dying with envy!!! How I wish he would do that to me. don't know. But it shows his affectionate side, don't you think?

I watched I watched it!!! OMG episode 4 was soooooo sweet and touching. I really liked the interaction between Ling and Qi Luo in this one. I just really love the talks they have with each other!! Oh and the phone scene was so cute and sweet too!! ZZ looks hot in his gear and racing even though that's probably not him. :tongue:

And as with Cheyanne, those previews for the next episode at the end is just adding to the misery!!!! :oops: Grrr! But from the looks of it, the end of the next episode will be the end of my manga knowledge, so yay!

mein, yeah he has an ex-girlfriend, it's in the manga, how come you didn't know about this? :? Even I know about it, that girl and that guy shows up from his old school so they knew Sei too. I don't think anything bad will happen, as in a fight, because of the hug between Da Ye and Qi Luo, I think their relationship is stronger than that and wouldn't be shook just by something so innocent. Episode 4 was very interesting, ahh, if only zaizai had a twin in real life :love: zaizai really suits the motorcycle gear he wears! i just wanna reach into my screen and grab him! zaizai's acting has gotten GOOD! i mean, the facial expressions are great! but in episode 3, when Ling was fighting with that big guy (cant remember his name) did you all find the punching...lame? :) i've noticed this in MG too, one guys punches the other guy in the face (not very convicingly, i must say) and then waits for the other guy to punch him back!!! it's SO annoying! i was like, 'punch him again! punch him AGAIN you idiot! get him while he's down!' :bounce: and it's really cute how the big guy wants to be friends in ep 4. and the sweet scenes between qi luo and lin are SO GREAT! yaaaaah! i'm in LOVE! and omg! doesnt anyone fidn Da Ye ADORABLE?! he likes qi uo yet he's letting his friend have her! :kisschee: And OMG!!!! remember the flashbacks zaizai had of his mother?! she's so pretty! but in one of those scenes where she turns around or something and the lighting's sort of dark she reminded me so much of vivian in the KANR mv! :bounce:

That's not ZZ in the opening intro though, it's some other guy. ZZ's only in the duet at the end theme. I really like that intro song too. Yup, it's one show where I don't skip ahead every episode, I'd sit through it, partly to prolong the 1hr every week. :cry: It's also my only source of more Mars after the episode is done.

If I loved my hair as much as Da S love hers, I'd be afraid of something happening to it one day, some unforseen accident. I wonder how she'd take that, say, if a fire accidentally caught onto her hair?

You know, I think Da S's face is too short for her long hair and her pointy ears seems to make her hair even longer. That's why she looks so weird with her long hair.

Cheyanne, the intro is called "Ling" as in ZZ's character's name which means "zero". :D How appropriate. It's in the credits at the end. And the end theme song is called "Let Me Love You" (Rang Wo Ai Ni). And I think it's BECAUSE anime boys are so feminine looking that that's what makes them attractive! :love:

Hi, glad to have another convert to join us! :D I don't know if it's better than Meteor Garden, I would incline to say yes, but maybe that's just because I watched MG so long ago that it's hard to compare. I just gotta say I really like it so far! :D And no, it hasn't finished airing, it'll air episode 5 tomorrow, so still a while to go. But I think the first set of VCDs will be released soon, if not already.

Hmm... I wouldn't say that I find it nicer than meteor garden coz both shows are different to me. The characters in Meteor Garden is more inclined towards innocent and naive while Mars has this dark feel towards it. Meteor Garden has a more lighthearted upbeat feel while Mars is again, deep and dark.
So if you're sick of those lame slapstick taiwan idol dramas, Mars is defintely a breakthrough from the sterotyped. Even if your taste in shows are towards the shallow ones, you've still got to watch it. Why? Simply because there's zaizai in it and who can resist that handsome face. And there are some lighthearted banters in show too. Ok. Now I sound like some sales person.

I agree with Cheyanne, Meteor Garden was an innocent Rich Boy falls for poor girl kind of story and mars is Messed Up People In Love story :D but no matter what the story, you definetely gotta watch it to catch the plentiful zaizai candy. because of zaizai, i watched Come To My Place, which was the worst taiwan drama ever produced, NO storyline! and MG2 :rasp: and Love Storm (loved that :love:) but i still havent seen Poor Prince properly :cry:

Oh my god vicluva, you actually sat through "Come to my place"??!! That's like the dumbest and most slow paced show ever! I WATCHED EP 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who had an uncontrollable urge to :ranting: and :chair: that stupid girl!!!!!! :oops: And Qi Luo, she's too much of a pushover! But that big slap he gave her was super satisfying!!! :yeah: And I'm also not liking what I'm seeing in the preview for next episode though the kiss at the subway station was nice. Gah, I hate these clingy needy girls. And why did Ling like her before anyway? I can't believe he said all those promises to her...why? how? But the story is really picking up and I'm very curious about what the truth is behind Sheng's suicide (the suicide scene was pretty freaky), I'm sure it's not because of the girl. ***If you know, don't tell me!***

It was nice at the beginning though, when he went to look at her painting of him and they had a nice moment walking away. And how he openly admits that Qi Luo is his girlfriend in class, that was nice. :D Gah!! Both Ling and Qi Luo are being pushed around by that girl who's name escapes me now. She's annoying.

Yes! Yes! I've watched it too. I agree with you mein, it was so sweet of Ling to hold Qi Luo's hand while they were in the cafe. And I think Sa Ji looks real ugly in this show. Physically and mentally. You know what I don't like about zaizai in this show? I think his dressing sucks. That blue windbreaker that he was wearing in this episode? I think it's ugly as hell. Oh man, jakinni you are soooo right. That slap that Ling gave Sa Ji felt so good to me. I was cheering all the way and I'm so in love with Ling's character in this show. There's just something about deep, dark, messed up handsome guys that draws me to them. I always carry the hope that I'll be the one to heal their wounded soul and bring light into their lives. Haha!
Oh, and the part where Da Ye warned Ling (after Ling saw the both of them hugging) that he has not given up on Qi Luo and will pursue her if Ling ever lets her down? That reminds me of meteor garden when Lei warns Dao Ming Si that he has never completely given up on Shancai and will fight for her if he feels that Dao Ming Si does not deserve SHancai.
Ok. So now I'll have to wait for another 6 days before I can catch zaizai's handsome face again. And I'm dying to see what happens!!! The preview for the next episode is killing me!!!

Ooooh, this is interesting. I heard something about ZaiZai being in a Mars drama, and I guess it's true! Wow, a lot of the cast is from Meteor Garden! I really liked Meteor Garden, but not the 2nd one. To tell you the truth, I think Barbie is really ugly. Her face is too big and her eyes are too small. At least that's what I think. So I saw that before episode 6 is even out. :oops: It looks like that's when that scene in the intro theme with Qi Luo looking freaked out when Ling was making out with her, meaning her past experience of rape is coming back to haunt her!! So we'll be dealing with her issues soon and not just Ling's. I'm really anxious to see how he'll handle it. *sigh* People, let this be a lesson to you, being spoiled more will not satisfy your cravings for more Mars, it'll only make the misery worse by knowing you now have to wait TWO WEEKS instead of one to get the stuff seen in the previews!!! :oops:

You guys, I've read the Japanese manga.. I don't think this can even compare. First of all, I think Zai Zai doesn't fit the role at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno, I can't think of any taiwanese actor that fits the character right now. In the comic, he's cool, a playboy, violent, and just plain COOL. Zai Zai's facial features look so soft.

But Chun Li, don't most manga's male characters look soft? I thought Rei (in the manga) looks kinda girly. And zaizai is definitely capable of the violent look. The cold chilling violent look that makes your skin crawl not those explosive violent kind. Go watch the show! You watch it and you'll be suffering like us. haha! But then again, I think his long hair sucks and he looks more credible when he was acting cool in the show compared to when he was acting all giddy with happiness. I can't help but feel that he is forcing out the happiness. Maybe it's his impassive features plus laziness to even lift his hands up (esp the part where vicluva mentioned about him winning the race).

I just watched episodes 1-3 (thanks to a friend who loves Zai Zai :hugz: ) and I am hooked too. I swear, like Chun Li predicted...we will all be drooling for Zai Zai on this thread until the series is over.

I have to give it to him! He was so good at doing all the various expressions that Chen Ling has, from the caring friend, girl crazy student to a scary good looking guy ( :bleh: )..he's that good!

Who could forget that scene while looking at the mirror, it was so intense it almost knocked me off my seat. can't wait to have a copy of the rest.

And the casting was done so well. Except for Qing Mei. I think they could have found a more appropriate character probably more snobbish. I just can't see her as someone who'd intentionally hurt Qi Luo on the first scenes. And Da Ye, perfectly casted!

Hi luvsfroot, I think the first set of VCDs are going to be released soon, if not released already. But the rest will only be released after it's finished airing in Taiwan, which is at least 8 weeks from now. Download through Bittorrent. Some have read the manga and some haven't, up to you. I myself don't want to spoil myself just yet. I'll read and compare afterwards. Reading only the first parts of the manga, the drama does stick pretty close to the original. Anyway, if you download it, feel free to join the weekly club here. :happy:

It's not that every Taiwanese boy has a high voice, just the ones I know I guess. There are exceptions, yes, Vic, Zax (the host of the entertainment show), etc. Taiwanese guys are getting more femme each year though, I think it's because the influence Japan has on Taiwanese popular culture.

A lot of people notice Zax's big nostrils. I don't think he's embarrassed by anything though! He has a willingness to do whatever he wants in front of the camera in front of so many people, which I think is neat.

But anyone, onto Vic again. I can't wait for the next episode of Mars! I had to go get the manga because I couldn't wait each week to watch the show, and the plotline is really well written. I'm amazed at how Vic's acting improved to fit the role of Ling. I watched episode 6 too!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find Sha Zhi REALLY annoying, her voice and the way her mouth is kind of downturned when talking, especially during that part at school. I wanted to give her a nice swift kick in the face. :whistle: I think I've never seen ZZ cry before, I mean seriously cry, so that part at his apartment was pretty good acting, it was touching and sad. :cry: OHHHH and that part where he went to talk to Qi Luo in the art room was so sweet!!!!!!! :love: Hehe I liked the twins shots, especially the first one where they just came to school and were joking about Sha Zhi looking like a dog. :rolleyes:


*ahem* I watched Top On The Forbidden City (Yes, that's really how they translated it into English, talk about bad grammar) in between Mars episodes recently. :whistle: I had a lot of time on my hands apparently. It's about dancing. Ok there's this dance group it's called Royal and apparently they're the champions of Asia and thus qualified to competed at this (I'm guessing) international dance competition at the Babylon Palace which is supposed to be every dancer's dream. So the story is when a new dancer (Tian Xie=Scorpion) joins the group there's some conflict since he's a better dancer than the original lead guy there. He's also got a loner personality so people are put off of it. But then he meets this cute girl whose father runs a traditional Ba Jia Jiang troupe. She really loves Royal so he helps her gets a job as a janitor at the place. Anyway, the rest of the story is her falling for him and chasing him and her Shi Xiong (Qing Tian=Sunny Day) sipping some vinegar along the way since he's in love with her too. Apparently he's also a very good dancer, and sooner or later the two main guy characters or various groups (like Royal vs. Qing Tian's group, or vs. other street dancing group) have dance-offs. But wait, half way through the story, some psycho mob like kind of guy comes and tries to take over the company that owns Royal and there's a lot of backstabbing, scheming, competing for rights to go to the international competition, and even some life death situations that come out of it, which I found kind of ridiculous just to take over an entertainment company that seems to have no other assets except Royal.

I also found the parts where they challenge each other and so have a moment of looking "tough" staring into each other's eyes to be quite corny since they seriously over did it. As for the dancing, I have to say K-One's not bad, they can dance, except we don't see that much variation, a lot of the same moves and just short segments of dancing. I hate it when they do stupid camera shots/angles Chinese shows are so fond of doing when they're dancing so you can't see the whole thing. OH OH And one other thing I found seriously hilarious was when they had to have some kind of judging done for a contest, they had 3 old foreign dudes come in as dance judges who looked like they didn't know rhythm if it smacked them between the eyes. AHAHAHAHHA. Overall the show is ok to watch because I found Gino to be cute except his nose looks weird sometimes and some of the other KOne members not bad either. That is if you get over the implausibility of some of the plot points. Big nostrils from 5566 also in here for a small role. First half the story is more light hearted and the second half seriously too much crying by some people.

Chuh Li - it's basically like what jakinni said. A top entertainment dance troupe gets a new performer because they want to win a big world based Babylon dancing contest. Scorpion since he's all recluse and a loner, goes in and clashes with the dancers immediately. The old leader of Royal is played by 5566's Sam as Fire. The annoyingest of the annoying, Xiao Ying (Little Shadow, played by Joanne) is this girl who is a die hard fan of Royal who will do anything to get close to the group. She lives in a kind of chinese temple with her best friend Xing Tian (Sunny Day, yada yada).

There's a love polygon in there. Someone loves someone who loves someone else who loves someone else who loves the first person, etc. Like Jakinni said, the first half is completely different from the second half. I found Scorpion a bit of a wuss, since all he does is stand to the side while Xing Tian protects Xiao Ying and does anything for her. The guy takes pictures of her and writes in a journal in his laptop, which I found hilarious and vaguely creepy / stalker like. But yeah, lots of dance scenes, lots of cheesy dramatic moments, for a predictable ending.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, it's not bad for a time waster. It reminds me of Westside Story. Lots of flash, a plot that goes everywhere, and yeah, that's about it.

AHHHH! Finally I've seen it! Marry me Zaizai! :bounce: seeing the two of them (Ling and Shen) made me go so soft and mushy inside :love: zaizai's acting has really improved, and i guess the crying scene was done really well, but i couldnt really get myself to focus because i was thinking about other things while i was watching it :sweat:
Anyway, I can't believe Ling and Sheng's father isn't really their father! when he first said i was like, 'what the?!' and then it hit me and i was so surprised! sa zhi is really annoying me now, her nose is CHUNKY. whenever i see her face my eyes just get glued to that noses and urgh! i was so pissed for the two minutes i thought sa zhi had killed sheng, but then it was all resolved and zaizai was hugging her and i just got pissed at zaizai and started screaming at my computer screen. :shy: Yikes! She's really ugly in this show and are you trying to say that DaS's skin colored cardigan with it's slightly darker button reminds you of a naked breast? The show is called Mars because, well, in the beginning when Vic runs in and saves Da S from the creepy molesting english teacher, they are kind of friends, and then they talk about Mars. So I'm guessing Ling is suppose to be the embodiment of the idea of Mars.

In the manga he's suppose to kiss the statue though, and that didn't happen in the show, because, I don't know, it would ruin his manly-ness to kiss a statue?

There are alot of news which says that DaS has got major attitude while filming, right? And she herself did admit that she had got some issues. I remembered reading somewhere that before Zaizai and DaS do the kissing scene in Meteor Garden, she asked zaizai to make sure his breath don't smell (or something like that) and zaizai had to load in on the breath mints. When I read that, I was aghast. I mean, come on it's zaizai. If I get to smooch him, I don't care if his breath smells of durians (oh, I love those!) ok. I don't care if his breath stinks of garlic (eeeww... maybe I'll sponsor him the breath mints!)

And yes, Chun Li. I like Qing Mei too. I think she is pretty and I love her character!!! Don't know if it is the way japanese thinks but I realise that in japanese manga, there'll always be this spunky girl who falls for the male lead. And then the male lead will fall for the female lead and in the end, the spunky girl will be the one protecting the female lead who used to be her love rival....

i'm back.. i posted earlier (p16, wow, this thread got so far in less than a wk) about borrowing the dvds, etcetc. and being excited and all that but guess what? i actually downloaded episode one! thank you sooo much mein for those links.

anyway, it took a long time for me but it finally opened in realone player (i don't use bittorent, is it safe? last time i used this kind of file-sharing thing - kazaa - i got a virus & it messed up my computer so i really don't want to download something like that again). annnnd i just finished watching it! it's like, past one in the morning here, but i couldn't stop watching. even though it stopped many times in between cuz it was downloading while i was watching, i think. (i can't really tell, it just stops suddenly for a while & i have to wait for it and then i can continue watching.) and each episode is 1hr10mins?? how is that? i mean, with commercials and everything, then it really does air for 1.5 hrs straight in taiwan right now? wow. only 13 episodes though, and from your guys' posts, we're on something like episode 6 right now, and are waiting till next week (it airs every saturday right?) until the next one? well, i've only just finished episode one and i'll have to wait a while to download/watch the second one.. but. oh my goodness i can't wait. it's sooo good/interesting. really unpredictable, i think, and very different from the other dramas i've watched. not light-hearted like meteor garden or love storm, or mushy/crying-all-the-time like endless love. hehe. definitely seems more dark, dramatic, dealing with these types of issues, like you've all said. seems more exciting and fast-paced too, no dragging slow-paced scenes. Somehow, I think Xiao Xiao has managed to make Sha Zhi's character even more hateful. When I read the manga, I just thought of Sha Zhi as another irritating character. But after watching Xiao Xiao acting the irrtating character out, I find Sha Zhi disgusting, hateful, irksome, nauseating, infuriating... in other words, A PAIN IN THE ASS! And that pinched mouth of hers, it gets on my nerves. To tell the truth, I never really liked XIao Xiao to begin with and now I dislike her even more.

It's on wednesday. Only half of our torture gone.....

same here. i think it's basically the same character.. she wants the guy, but the guy doesn't like her ~ same annoying way of acting.. :crazy:

i'm really not looking forward to seeing her in the next episodes.. she just spoils my mood when i watch god mars.

mliza, i asked my friend the same question too...but she said that probably ke you lun doesn't has a solo album...i thought of buying his album after i heard the theme song for mars, Ling (Zero)..and the song from Say Yes Enterprise..i am so attracted to his rock style...Mars Ost should already out in store now..anyone has bought that? :whistle:

i even search in btchina, there's no ost for the drama yet... hmmmm...
i kinda like the instrumental they have in the drama, which the ending theme ones..
it makes me feel so touchy, when i hear it. hahahaha
