I just finished watching the whole serial, and I have to say that it's not as good as I thought it would. I don't know, to me, the whole shows is just too slow, and it's quite odd, since there's a lot of traumatizing and phsycotic people. Other than that, I think Mars is one of the darkest TV drama that I've ever watched. I don't really see any kind of romance going on other than hugging, kissing, or going in bed.

To me it sounds that there are too many evil persons in this serial. I hate QiLuo stepdad, TongDao, SaZi, Ling's mom, even QiLuo's mom (what kind of mom trust such a jerk over her own daughter), and in a way, I think many of these people are mentally sick. Haha, I dunno, perhaps I just don't like the idea of watching this phsycos doing their phsycotic behavior. Plus, racing doesn't really interest me that much either. And the ending is kind of... lapsed. I hate the ending, because they skip the sweet part of them being married, which I think should be the climax of their love. Sigh... I complain too much, don't I?

I would say that if ZaiZai isn't the main lead, perhaps I would have given up watching it in the 3rd episode. Oh, and the idea of ZaiZai being paired with Da S is just kind of sicken me. I dunno why. Perhaps because I don't like Da S in real life, or perhaps because I know they're very much like bro-sis, so everytime I saw them kissing or holding hands, I don't feel the chemistry at all, it's like I see a big sister kissing her li'l bro, moreover the bed scene... Yucks. I think I'd still choose Vivian and ZaiZai in Love Storm, they look more compatible.

But the good side is... seeing ZaiZai at his handsomest stage. My God, when he wore that black suit in the party, I feel like raping him at that point of time. And I kind of feel that the goofiness of Ling is a lot like ZaiZai in real life. So seeing Ling is like seeing ZaiZai, ... I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but I think when he acts, he has to be someone else. Sigh... I'm really complaining too much. And I know there's a lot of you guys who digs this serial, but I would say that if it weren't for ZaiZai, I wouldn't care to watch this serial.

Haha, but in the end, I still watch it because there's ZaiZai. :-)

hahaha i've gotta agree with you there. that scene when i first saw him in that suit just made me swoon to the point where i almost fell off my chair. and then when he was taking off his coat and tie, it was just adorable.

i actually liked the darkness of it all. it was sweet because they triumphed and had a great life together despite all the crap they went through. i would have liked to see the wedding but it's nice to see them as a happy family. yeah.. the bed scene was so random tho! that just popped out of nowhere. there is a lot of mysterious parts that i still don't get but i plan on watching it over again and hopefully i'll figure some stuff out :happy:

I just have this thing with guys in all-black or all-white suit, especially when it's Jay or ZaiZai,... it makes them look like a total Prince Charming. I guess you're right about how their love triumphed over so many problems,... I guess that's the sweetest thing of all.

yeah kinda akward to see them playin as a couple...but they do great though... :D

oh so i was a little confused. da ye and qing mei at the end... were they opening a shop together? and it almost seemed like they were married (and i don't know why but i imagine them having a baby together) hehe. i think my imagination tends to run wild with these cute situations. and i just love qing mei cuz she's soooo pretty!

yea i think that qingmei is really pretty well at least prettier than da s but thats just me. yea i know that bed scene kinda makes me sick heck i didn;t like it at all..i dunno it just seemed really unnatural...but they did do a great job on mars...

same here! i think also part of it was because nothing really happened between them in meteor garden, they were just 'friends' so it was sort of awkward in mars. i liked da ye and qing mei's personality alot better than ling and qi luo. were they really opening a shop at the end? i wasn't paying attention because it got really draggy so i fast forwarded throug alot of it. when i saw qing mei in the first episode i liked her alot better than qi luo even tho she was really mean sometimes. but i guess its normal for her to feel that way when her guy is liking somebody else.

Edit : I've finally downloaded Mars OST....it was so cool!!..so nice...especially those instrumentals...and one song which the title is Bai Se.... was really nice...i thought it was sung by Da S... :shy:

yea they were married...do you remember when Da Ye was looking for the right channel to record ling's game and he was called "boss" by the customers and qing mei was called "mrs boss" or somethin like that.... :happy: yea Da Ye was a lot cuter with dyed hair... :wink2:

yea da ye is like a recent actor like i haven;t seen him in any dramas but this weekend when i flpped on the tv i noticed him in a drama. i dunno what's it;s called but his character name is like stone and that group with train in their name(sry can;t remember at the moment) its seems pretty good then again i;'ve only watched one episode of it so far.

yea i like rangwoai but i think i like the theme song, ling better but yea the mars ost is pretty good.

yea im actually looking forward to seeing da ye in more dramas. i think he did a good job in Mars. jessie what is the drama you are watching about? omg i absolutely love the mars soundtrack. my favorite is the opening song Ling. the first time i heard it was when i watched episode one... and i think it was a combination of the song and also the guy loosing his leg, giving away his motorcycle, ling driving on the road, yea that all just sucked me into Mars within the first five minutes. I don't really like the other songs as much they are too slow....

yes!!..i love the song Ling too..at first, i wasn't paying attention to Rang Wo Ai Ni cuz it was slow..but sooner, i'm addicted to that song...hehehe...well, i like the Bai Se Lian Ju song too!!!...that song is so catchy... :rolleyes: ...that song reminded me of happy and sweet moments between ling and qi luo... :happy:

i think "ling" sounds like a verry powerful song....as in, its very dramatic sounding.
its a song that makes me go "wow"
but its not something i put on my playlist.....
coz i like listening to more "soothing" type songs normally
just like how i like shuang jie gun and long quan, but i don't really listen to them on my playlist?

and oh! i watched this mars promo sometime back and da ye was on it....
and i was like WOAH! coz he looked pretty cute there...!!!
much better haircut!!!!! (his hairdo as da ye was kinda erm...."dai" looking....as in, it was a nerdy-ish haircut) plus the coloring, it looked much better!!!!

OMG lol...before id watched the serie i thought that the song Ling totally suck...but when i begun to watch the serie i realised i was getting to love it more and more. :D haha ive even put it on my mp3 player. :roll: i also love Shuo Ai Wo...(hit 500 with RangWoAiNi :P)

but omg! i so totally love DaYe's hair at the end of the last episode...and it looked like as if QingMeis pregnant cos i saw a big tummy....lol. :D

i also thought that the ending was kinda....weird. i thought: ...that's it?!
i wanted to see their wedding and such....:dry:

sigh...i love Ling & Sheng...tho. their characters are like totally different from each other.

I just watched the last episode for Mars. I was like crying and crying cause I thought Rei was gonna die, thank goodness he didn't or else I would have been sooo sad. Ling is such a good song!! I bought the Mars soundtrack. I thought all the songs in Mars were really good.

however i still love the song ling and i also think that the theme song of sayyes enterprise is pretty good which ke wei lun sings too. u know i was always wondering what he looked like until i saw him on ASOS like during the second week of sept i think and he came on the show to promote the MARS ost. also zaizai was hosting cuz xiao s was out or something. He seems pretty shy but has major potential

which affirms my hypothesis that xiao s is the reason for success of ASOS....
coz Da S is majorly boring!!!!
and the thing is zai zai is adorable, but i feel that he can't really host.
he talks to the co-host, and not to the audience....

and i guess because he and da s are good friends in real life, they have an understanding between them, so i felt that they ended up talking to each other leaving me (the audience) clueless.....
as in, zai zai will be "do you remember....." and then she'll go "yes yes!" and i'd have no idea what they were saying....

Yo yo, i also finished watching this show. Found it really nice. Zaizai is really funny, esp in the first few episodes. But seriously speaking, i still dont really understand how come the twin brother chose to commit suicide? Hm..

hmmm maybe the main reason was that the twin brother felt he has something evil within him..but becoz he was always be the "good" kid so he can't stand it anymore... :dry:
ever since i watched this movie i've been thinking how nice it would be if vic was really twin... i can't imagine that... :hmm: :laughing:

maybe you can see him at TV Series "SONIC YOUTH" (margareth wang & bo lin), i forget what's his name in that series.

i thinks at MARS, zai zai give his best performance...i love so much Ling character & very suit for zai...it seems zai zai act as him self when kidding with others..& his hair..wow..makes him very handsome:love:

one of may fav scene, when ling, qi luo, sha zi, & that high school fren, in cafe..while they're talking, ling touch qi luo hand under table...so romantic & sweet :happy:

I just started watching Mars...somehow my friend got ahold of a couple episodes of it...and I really like it! :-) I think it's a very good series...but...I have no other way to get the rest of the series...my dad could not find it for me while he was traveling in Hong Kong...they said that the series had become too old already? =/ Series sure sell fast there...^^;; And when I looked at it in Canada...to buy the series was quite expensive! :cry: I think I'll have to wait to watch the series...but so far I've seen up until chapter nine, and it's great! :-)

Seeing Zai Zai act as Ling in Mars...is a great change from what I've seen him like in Meteor Garden... :D

loved zaizai even more after watching mars! i was surprised at how loyal it was to the manga too. awesome awesome drama. zaizai has come a long way since meteor garden and his acting in here is wonderful. da s didn't disappoint me either. her and zaizai have a lot of chemistry together. the rest of the cast all did a great job. everybody portrayed their manga characters so closely. and the OST for this drama - WOW!! i absolutely love every song.
just talking about mars makes me wanna go and rewatch it now. hehe ^_^

I totally agree with that comment, its like you took the words out of my mouth.

I want to request a song in Mars but I don't know the name. You know the part where Vic and Da S had a brief kiss at the subway station? There was a song that was playing in the background, (it was a girl singing) I only remember the lyrics. something like "lets watch the sky together... for the last time". If you guys know what song I'm talking about can you upload it? Or just tell me the title and who sang it. Thank you!

it was on public TV here in so cal on channel 18 i think yeah it was really good.. i was sorta falling out of love for zai zai cuz i hadn't heard very much about him.. but mars was sooo goood!!! i was hooked from the very first eps. i mean c'mon zaizai riding a motorcycle.. how hot is that? the KTSF english subtitles are pretty interesting to watch, i must say xD

you know that line that ling says a few times in the first episode, "我們可以做愛做的事, 讓我們舒服的事".. the english subtitle just says "WE CAN HAVE SEX!" hahah and the line "去你的" is transltaed into "F*ck you!" UNCENSORED. isn't that against the law or something?

O!!! :-) i watch that show! omg its so cute. Vic is SO HOT! i luv his hair. it seems that he does alot of makeout scenes in this show. its only been aired 2 times?? really?? b/c i have been watching it like alot at home. like 7th episod? yea. gr... its not for sale in the US. i want it so bad. i saw the previews on TV once and my mom was there. like i tink the girl was being raped or sumtin :oops: lol great preview seen, really tells ppl to watch it huh? oh well :happy: still watch it. i watched it today infact :-)

i believe, everybody here agree that zai zai and da s 's acting skill has developed so much since the meteor garden...! anyway, they have great chemistry together. concerning about the plot of this story, i think it's unique...! i love character Da ye...he's so mature and kind hearted....rite?

geez i think tong dao is really really creeeeeeeepy!! i think this show is kind of weird cuz like... almost all the characters have problems... and watching tong dao just creeps me out. oo and da S's dad in the show is scary too.

This was a good series. I can't believe I watched a chinese series without english subtitles. I just kept on referring to the transcript every now and then. :D

I found it weird when vic and barbie did all the mushy stuff. Maybe because of meteor garden where vic was very timid. But their acting was good.

yea i also am watching this on KTSF. although i have missed some episodes because i thought the first few episodes were boring. ahh i regret that. but yea vic is hot in here, not his long hair though... i think i'm getting close to the ending.. :cry: i'm going to miss seeing vic and barbie acting so well together.

bonnie, it's a fairly short show. but it's sooo satisfying.
i think vic is one of the few boys i can stand seeing with long hair. cause he's just so pretty.

and the problems with the character is what i LIKED about this show. it wasn't all FALL IN LOVE HAPPINESS, it was...lots of drama lots of actions lots of things happening...the way shows should be.

ditto! It wasn't your typical cliche drama - I love the manga, and I fell they made the drama very well - Vic exceeded my expectations playing Ling/Rei - I think to a lot of people as well! I think he was totally hot with long hair :shy: mind you I like guys with long hair - and his character being all playful he played it very well, which many people thought he wouldn't be able to play well coz of the role he played as in Meteor Garden.

i finished this coupla months ago and now i'm rewatching. and GOD.! I CAN'T STAND BARBIE (QI LUO). ugh. she annoys the heck outta me. her head is like down all the time, and doesn't talk at all. jeezus. Vic was good. =)

this was a total transformation from vic's quiet character in meteor garden, so it was a bit awkward for me to watch this vic. MARS was excellent though, the mystery of vic's character (oh what was the name) is SO interesting. loveeeed it. qiluo annoyed me in the end.. oh and i loved how vic's character said "quiluo, wo men jie hun ba" with such simplicity. it was sweet.

I finally finished it last month or something! I love Mars, I also read the manga!
But Barbie's acting isn't really good in it... Zai Zai is awesome though! But he gained weight in Mars! It's really cool that he rides a motorcycle there though!
The ending was a bit annoying actually... I wanted to see him race. And Ling's dad looks ungly. No offence... He looked better in the manga.

I love MARS, I first saw previews on my taiwanese channel. I was like, hey....thats the guy from F4...and that's the girl from Meteor Graden. So I checked out the show and it was pretty good and well done. I was lucky enough to watch the whole series which played like every 7:00 AM here in Wisconsin. I especially loved the main theme song for the show, I think is was called "Ling". BTW, why can't I find anything on Ruby Xiao Xiao (spelling...sorry...) I want to know more about this MARS actor.
