Kun Shou Zhi Dou
Why do so many people not like this song? I mean, I can see that it might not be their Favourite favourites. But only 4 Votes? ;_____; seriously, that's depressing.

So why not Kun Shou Zhi Dou? It's got well-written meaningful lyrics. It's composition is very unique for the album. It's got great vocals. It's passionate.

I'm sorry if starting a thread for the song is overbite. But i'm really wondering.

I like Kun Shou Zhi Dou, but it does remind me of those western rock bands style that is getting famous nowadays.

I like singing this song and playing in on my guitar. it makes me feel like a rockstar when I do. :bleh:

Don't you guys love how Jay croons on the chorus?

When I heard the sample, I honestly hate the sound of the song. It's so un-Jay and it's so western rock style. The first time I listened, I think the song sounded so much like David Tao's Black Tangerine, especially the choice of its minor chords plus the transition of the chords, I mean, I thought I could practically sing Black Tangerine over Kun Shou Zhi Dou's music.

But as I listen more and more to the song, I could acually start to appreciate the way Jay tried to do use a different chord base in a song, and somehow my opinion changed after a while. I could see that he's willing to challenge himself to compose a song which style isn't whithin his expertise. Of course, people would complain that it lacks of originality, but anyhow... Jay is just trying to expand his music style. Just like when he composed Nou Fu or Ta de Jie Mao.

In my opinion, if one or two songs in the album doesn't sound so Jayish, then it would just add more spice to the album. Actually, after listening to the song for so many many times, I start to enjoy singing it (It's quite a good karaoke song, you know :) ). It's just something different from him. But too bad the melody isn't so catchy. It would be really cool if Jay wrote a song that's totally not his style and became a hit (like Ta de Jie Mao for example). But anyhow, I like this song.

hmm...not mean dont like...but i feel that the style is not for jay...its something like ye hui mei's nuo fu....sounds very violent and very rock...the lyrics and the tune is good...but still the style is not very right...i guess we'll get used to it as time passes by....i'm quite used to nuo fu now...so does kun shuo zhi dou...
but i still prefer jay to sing something that is new and which suits him and his style of music...

Actually, this is one of my most favorite songs in this album, the other being Jiang Jun. I like this style and I think Jay does an overall very good job with the song.

maybe its coz there are other songs better than it :? i think tt it fits more in YHM than in this album coz its sort of more towards the rock side.....i basically thinks tt its not a bad song.....i like the way the instruments get together tho it really gives me a western sort-of feeling....but its a good try for jay to experiment on the western side of music...

Hm.. okay. So it's because:
- it's not Jay-styled enough
- it sticks out in the album?

Um.... actually nevermind, i think i get it.
Plus, i guess basing it on a poll isn't exactly accurate because if Kun Shou Zhi Dou is a song that needs getting used to. Then people wont vote for it immediately. Or it might be a second favourite for a lot of people. Thanks for all the discussion though. :D

And yess. I love how he croons.

the style's seriously NOT jay. but hey that's a good sign. it means we really like "jay's" music. Kun Shou Zhi Do was originally written for some other artist. jay said he thought the style was "not-jay-like" too. so that means we're really sensitive to his music! isn't that a good sign?

Huh? The style is not like Jay meh? I never thought it was different. I just thought it's one of Jay's fast rap song. I think it's funky the way he changes his voice when he raps it. Even if it's not Jay's style, it's great tho. Well, it is Jay's style now that he sang it. and to think that the critics think that he never change his style.

I really like kun shou zhi dou. I didn't bother listening to it very much when I first got his CD because I thought it sounded kinda lame. It wasn't until I watched the MV and read the lyrics that I really appreciated the song. I love how he sang the chorus and put so much feeling into it.
But somehow, I still kinda prefer Nuo Fu and Shuang Dao better. They're more catchy.

i thought it was one of the better songs in his latest CD. i guess i'm just into the whole moaning/ depressed rock sound
