o.k. so who has seen it?

i saw it the other day... and i goota say.. WOW~! i am still loving that movie~!
some of the people i talked to didnt like it cuz its one of those films that make you think one thing thought the whole movie.. but in the last 10 minutes or so.. it thows you off completely. personally i like movies like that. when they opend their little black box... i was like.. "WOW~!" i totally wasnt expecting it.

it really isnt as scary as some might think it is... it has a few suspenceful moments, but thats it. i jumped about twice... but thats cuz a loud burst of music always does that to me. LOL~!

my BF on the other hand... although he liked it... he knew from the beginning that it was all fake.
he noticed that during the opening fineral... the coffin was put together with screws... not nails.... and they didnt have screws back in that time. so the movie was kinda ruined for him. darn him and his close attention to details. LOL~!

so what did you guys think about it? do you have a fave part?

I gotta say, i was really surprised at the last moment. That movie really got me! I'm surprised your bf actually noticed.

i figured it out in the middle of the movie where they mention the "other town" many times. also they never explained that guy's color, and it would be nice if they explained the skinned animals.

oh, fyi, i saw on some tv program that this movie was supposed to be rated R but since they removed one little sound it became PG13. the director never said what that sound was but i think it was the sound when adrian brody stabbed joaquin, not the first time, but the times after

WOW~! so all he had to do was remove one sound to make it PG13. geese. thats kinda sad how a sound can meake it a rated R.
i honestly didnt figure it out. usually i would, but this time i didnt.. although my BF kinda ruind it for me.
when Ivy and her father got to that shed to see the costumes... he kept saying "It's a car" under his breath. i could hear him though... he was expecting something modern to be in there.

even though they didnt explain the skinned animals... i thought it was a good movie.

Was this movie suppose to be a comedy as well? Cuz I LMAO when she climbed over the wall and that *thing* approached and the guy came out of it.
The movie was totally ruined for me after that, cuz you couldn't take it serious anymore. Is the whole movie poking fun at the Amish or something? Or is it one of those "look for the hidden meaning" movies...ya know...like how society has gotten so corrupt..etc. etc.
Man...it really sucked, it was promising from the beginning to be a decent love story, but got ruined at the end. I liked the soundtrack though...

i dont think it was meant to be funny... but it was.. heck i was laughing too~! did you notice when the park ranger guy was in the office getting the supplies... you could see the reflection of the guy he was talking to... it was the writer/producer/director of the film. sadly i think i was the only one in the whole theatre to notice.. cuz i was the only one laughing... not loud laughing, but giggling at least.

i think its ont of those.. society is all corrupt type films. the elders made the village so that they and their children can live in purety or something to that effect.
i liked it anyway though. not saying i would rush out and buy it when its out on DVD, but i might watch it again in a few years or so. rented or on T.V. of course. LOL~!

i too was sadnd by the lovestory.. when buddy got stabbed i was like WTF?!?!?! he cant die.. he the love intrest.. he cant die.. especially not so soon in the movie. afer the fact it kinda made sence, but still.. meh..

Haha! Yes, this movie is so easy to make fun of... (throughout the whole movie, my boyfriend was like "omg, he's gonna get eaten by the creature..." "hey! he was supposed to get eaten...!" "I hope someone gets eaten soon....")

The only reason why I half enjoyed it was because of Phoenix, the actor playing the love interest/one who got stabbed. He's an amazing and charismatic actor... :) The love story was really cute too... awwww....

The ending/twist was kinda wasted on me, because I had read a book long time ago ("Running out of time"-Haddix) that had basically the same plot, of a confined reserve and of a girl going out to get medicine...-_-. Apparently the publisher of that book is suing Disney and M. Night Shyamalan for stealing their idea...

Anyways, it was somewhat of a disappointment because they showed the previews of it like it was a thriller, but really, it was more like a masked political statement...

i still dont get how all those families got into the village. i kno that all the elders knew that the village was fake but did all the other adults kno? i was really confused about that. cause how do u get so many ppl to go to this village w/o any one spilling the beans.

i really liked it though. it was a good love story between lucas n ivy. i would like that relationship but minus the stabbing. that was so sad. poor guy. i cant believe that crazy guy did that.

i cant believe ur bf shouling. how observant. did they really zoom up to the coffin or wat cause i sure didnt notice anything.

I thought the movie was all right. I guessed the plot twist once I heard about the movie though. But the atmosphere Night created was impressive.

i don't like m. night shyamalan's movies. i thought sixth sense was alright but after that, having a "twist" at the end of every movie didn't seem creative anymore. i think it was signs that disappointed me the most.

I didn't like Signs or Unbreakable. I thought the Sixth Sense was pretty groundbreaking at its time. Because of that movie though, everyone goes into a Night film expecting some sort of big twist. That's his biggest problem; the fact that he has so much to live up to.

pterodactyl.. i think EVERYONE was dissapoined by signs. LOL~!

maddy.. yea.. my BF is really observant.. i was shocked that he noticed too... but at least he had the decency to point it out to me AFTER the movie.. then it wasnt ruind for me. tee hee. as for the other adults.. i think they all knew it was fake too, but they kept the secret for the sake fo the children. the elders just made all the desisions that involved the village.

crazyformints.. are you serious? someone is sueing them for stealing the idea? they DO know that M. Night wrote the book for it a long time ago right? LOL~! oh well... either way.

i LOVED this movie, as i love most works by m. night shymalan (sixth sense and signs are great movies!!!). i was really disappointed by all the bad reviews this movie got, because i thought it was done very nicely. sure, the twist wasn't as twisted as the end in the sixth sense, but i think people should really stop comparing all of shymalan's movies to that one. and btw, this movie scared the crap outta me. i dunno why, but those creatures were seriously some of the scariest things i'd ever seen - signs and sixth sense didn't scare me nearly as much, which i find odd, but this one was terrifying! my sister laughs at me for being such a scaredy-cat -_-
i think this movie was excellent and deserves high praise, especially for joaquin phoenix and bryce dallas howard's work.

bryce dallas howard was great in this...she was so rght for the role...

and nothin beats the creepiness of m night shyamalan's cameos in every film that he makes...

but the side story of why sigourney weaver's character and william hurt's cahracter dont get too close wasnt that elaborated...like when joaquin asked as to why his mom doesnt speak or interact with the william hurt's character...
