I'm a big fan of Evanescence. I got their CD and all of the songs are awesome. Amy Lee's voice is just so captivating. "My Immortal" and "Imaginery" are 2 of my favorite songs besides "Bring Me To Life." I pretty much love their whole CD.

I love Evanescence! Their album ‘Fallen’ is totally awesome! My favourite tracks are 1,2,3,5,6 and 11. I like track 6 the most. Amy Lee is gifted with such a haunting voice. I think they are a really unique band. It’s not always that you get to hear the kind of music that they make.

Otep is a little more screaming and cursing then Evanesence...^-^;; But the lead singer of otep is also a female and like Amy Lee, her voice is pretty deep.

evenescence is a great band, i had the privledge to see them before they hit big, *they came from Little Rock, Arkansas...and i lived in Arkansas for 4 years now listening to their gigs. They are so great :) They do not consider themselves death rock...but of their own genre i forgot what they said hahaha. But its a collaberation of lots of things. They talk about many things in their past albums...yes their past albums..before they hit big...you should try to find them :)

I read somewhere that Evanescence was supposedly a Christian rock band before. But now their music certainly lies more to gothic rock. Some of their songs in 'Fallen' are remakes from their very first album which is more towards Christian rock. Most of their lyrics are related to faith and salvation anyway (okay, I don't really know what's salvation and WHAT am I saying here... :dry:). Anyway, the Christian influence is mostly apparent in 'My Immortal' (wait, I don't listen to Christian songs and heck, I don't really know what Christian songs sound like but I think that that song sounds Christian to me. LOL. I'm so crappy). Anyway the first time I heard it, I was like, 'this is such a beautiful song... :cry:' and the piano in the background makes it the more beautiful. I love 'Imaginary' too... oh, I love the whole album!

Actually, for people who think that Evanescence sound like Linkin Park, I think it's just the first single. The rest of the songs in the album are totally a different thing from Linkin Park. Okay, this is just a personal opinion, bash me if you want to.

Theoretically, Evanescence is seen as a four-member band. I guess it's just common for most bands to have only a part of the group being popularly recognizable and the other part being less popular. Probably because Amy and Ben are more readily to talk on interviews and to appear for events? (And in addition, there were some rumours between these two but let's not go to that. And yeah, Amy and Ben are the songwriters so it's natural they are more suitable for comments on their songs.) Probably the other two are just shy and would rather be in the background? Nevertheless, all are equally important as a band.

And it's said on their official site that they are the co-founders of the band.

yah..i a lot of bands just have a couple ppl that are more famous cuz they're more reconized....i don't think there's a lot of bands out there where each artist gets equal attention...xcept for boy bands mayb but they're not taht popular now..yah..but all the members are important cuz the music wouldn't sound that great if they weren't there doing their job.

They've already denied being a Christian Rock Band eversince that rumor came out. Cause they were like put in Christian Music shelves in record stores. But I don't blame them. cause Bring Me To Life does give off the impression of being a Christian song.

About them sounding like Linkin Park, I guess because of the first single and how it was done. The guy featured in the track is Paul McCoy. He also is a singer for another band. I forgot the name though. Amy said in one interview that no one wanted to do the track with them because they sound too different than anything in the market those days. Managers of other artists thought it was a bad career move for their talents. So when Paul and his band, in the middle of a tour, had I think a show in the same state as them they asked him to sing and then they recorded and he flew off to finish his tour with his band after that.

the hardcore death metal lovers say evanscence is only a rookie when it comes to their gothic style. i don't quite coincide with their beliefs. i think they're gothic enough not to scare people off thankfully! if there are gothic rockers scarier than that, i would freak out! don't ask why i haven't said a word since i last fainted. :laughing: up to this point, i have heard only 3 songs by them: "bring me to life" (obviously), "my immortal" (an xcellente piano-only accompanied song), and "everybody's fool"..(coz those were the only ones i could find lol..) unless i would have to buy the real cd..but what i'm afraid of is that i may not like their other songs..like maybe these are the only 3 i would like out of the whole album. it always happens to me. i was so frustrated i was able to break one of the cds i was frustrated with. i couldn't forgive myself but hey, crap happens mostly without you knowing.

You're talking about the Anywhere But Home DVD I just mentioned. It's a DVD of their concert held in The Zenith, Paris. It's the entire concert so the songs they performed are from Fallen. The DVD includes behind the scenes footage, all 4 video clips and the bonus track Missing. :wave:

I'm a big fan of Evanescence and have a bunch of their old songs, including the Origin CD and Exodus (I believe). My favorite song is [i]Anywhere,[i] which is actually not a rock/gothic type song like the majority of Fallen. It's really beautiful and uplifting.

I'm really anxious to hear this new album. I wonder if Ben Moody was actually the key driving force in the writing of Fallen and prior works.

My favorite band: next to Green Day(punk) and Linkin Park(rock). I love Evanscence.....because of their whole gothic feel.

I love how Amy's voice matches the arrangements of the music, the instruments, the guitars.....it's all so WOW! I don't know, maybe because I'm a band geek.....I love music. And it makes it worth more listening to(and loving it) when the members actually compose and write their own songs. My favorite Evanescence song? Probably "My Last Breath" from their Fallen album. Can't wait for the next.

I heard from an earlier news that Ben Moody is leaving the band. I hope it's just a rumor. Been working alot, and haven't kept up with the news on the band. Anybody know if it's true or not? Whatever the outcome is, I hope it doesn't affect the band in a bad way.

No Way the band is splitting up! Their new album is coming out this Fall (October), and yep, Ben Moody left over two years ago. And now, William left because he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Still, expect their new album to be as good, if not better than "Fallen". :happy:

On their official site (evanescence.com) the cover to The Open Door is up and it looks beautiful!

(I'm sorry if someone already posted this information...I didn't find it, so I thought I might as well post it or repeat it)
But they've announced the beginning of a tour for The Open Door. It starts on Oct. 5 (2 days after the release of the album) and the first concert will be in Toronto. They'll play in San Fransisco around Oct. 29, then go to Europe to play a few shows there before coming back to the States to play at larger venues before the end of the year. The Los Angeles tickets will begin to sell August 26. But a bunch of the tickets for other venues will go on sale August 19.

crazygiggles13, they are going on tour right after the release of The Open Door on October 3rd, but that is mainly around the States, Canada and Europe. I don't think they'll drop by Asia though... =(

I can't wait for their next single! But I've got to say, Call Me When You're Sober sounds very heavily produced though. But I guess that's normal after a very successful album in Fallen. :happy:

The music video for the song was delayed, originally slated to be shot at the end of June. It was then shot and finished in the second week of July.[1] The video debuted on 7 August 2006 on MTV2. In Canada, it debuted on MuchOnDemand on the same day at 5PM EST. It was stated by Wind-Up executives on the band's unofficial forum, Evboard.com, that the concept for the video is based on the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale, and was directed by Marc Webb.[2]. The music video was officially released in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay on August 1 at 3PM during Los 10+ Pedidos in Southern Region.

The "Making The Video" of "Call Me When You're Sober" appeared on MTV2 on the following dates and times: 7 August, 10AM; 7 August, 4PM; 8 August, 2AM; 10 August, 10:30AM (all times EST). It is also believed that the song is directed at Amy Lee's ex-boyfriend, Shaun Morgan of Seether who in currently is rehab for addiction problems.

Wow, I haven't heard them for quite a while now, especially after their song got overplayed on the radio. I'm glad they are coming out with a new album. I can't wait to hear it! I've already heard "Call Me When You're Sober" on myspace and it doesn't sound all that bad. I hope the album is even better! :D

Call Me When You're Sober is nice. I'll admit it isn't their strongest work but it's still a solid song and single. Can't wait for their album to drop. Will be interesting to see how they sound without Ben Moody.

Their new album The Open Door is available for PreOrder on iTunes now. But sadly, its only for people in the US and Canada. :sad:

I would have pre-ordered it if its available here. But then again, nothing beats the real CD. Singapore is just so slow, they only started playing the single one or two weeks after it's official release. I guess the fan base here is just too small.

I'm sure the album will live up to its expectations. :happy:

The more I watch the Call Me When You're Sober MV, the more I find it great.
My favorite part has to be the stairway / flying bit. It's a stunning scene. Awesome!
And I love Amy Lee's childish giggle at the end of the video.

The Open Door has leaked. It's reminiscent of Fallen in the sense that it all sounds almost the same when listening to it at one shot. I've only listened to it fully once so I can't make a good assesment. Will listen to it more before judging it. It's probably a good 'shuffle' album.

Call Me When You're Sober is probably the most radio-friendly song in my opinion. I hope they can have the same succes as they did with their debut album.

Yes, the open door is leaked almost a full month ahead of its release. It's gotten everyone upset at eVboard. Sigh. I didn't download it, and I won't download it. I'll just wait for the album release instead.

I agree with King Aaron. The Open Door is reminiscent of Fallen though the latter is way better.
I've listened to their new album more than thrice and I must admit that it takes a while before the other songs start growing on you. My favorite tracks from The Open Door are Call Me When You're Sober, Lithium and The Only One. I also like Lacrymosa and Snow White Queen.

The album is good overall though Ben Moody's absence may have caused the feeling of 'lack' when you listen to the entire album. :worry:

I have to say that I was majorly disappointed with The Open Door.

I fell in love with Evanescence with Fallen but this album just didn't live up to my expectations.

I still like them...just not the new album so much.

My brother bought THE OPEN DOOR a couple of months ago. And I'd have to say that I'm majorly disappointed. :worry:

With the exception of Call Me When I'm Sober, every other song on that album....(well, I can't account for every song, because I think I stopped listening after the 5th or 6th track) just seems to run into each other, and not in a good way. I just don't feel that Evanescence feel anymore. Of course, I think it's due to the absence of Ben Moody. Wherever he is, or whatever he's doing....he needs to come back. It's just not cutting it anymore.

I'm a HUGE Evanescence freak. Amy Lee is so gorgeous,and her voice is simply amazing. I was a lil disappointed with their newest album The Open Door but all the songs apart from 2 I think grew on me. :-)

Bring to Life & Immortal were my all time favorite songs for awhile.I still love listening to Immortal though.Bring me to Life sounded really good in Daredevil the movie with Ben Affleck.

That movie itself was awesome.However,I haven't heard any other magical songs such as those from them for a long time.Their new songs sound good too,but it doesn't have that same energy & essence as their first couple of hits.^^
