Hey guys!!

i'm hoping you guys have noticed that we've got a Donation Drive (http://jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6103) going on at the moment...
and we really really need your help.

we were thinking, that not everyone has credit cards and can donate via Paypal even if they wanted to, so we were thinking of setting up a PO Box for you guys to send any money that you could donate to.

you guys can just post watever you can afford... as little as you can....5 bucks, 10 bucks....whatever you can would be appreciated

i just wanted to get an idea wether this would be a worthwhile investment. if so...then i'll head down to the post office and try and get one set up =)

so please answer this truthfully (it doesn't matter if you say that you can't donate...)
please answer.....please give me some feedback ....

i want to donate but i dont have a credit card so i would have to nick my dads and even though he usually pays for all this kind of stuff im not so sure he would want to donate anything to JCN seeing as he just leant me 2000yuan to support my jay addiction and go to beijing to see him.... maybe in a couple of months when im home in Auz i can angle to donate some of my own money! if a po box was set up i could send some of my own money here from china but it wouldnt be much cause i have to save all i can to stalk jays ass!

Clouds, when you say send cash to the PO box, you mean a money order from the post office, or a bank cheque, right? not as in actual "cash" right?

just thought i'd clarify for everyone.

and yes, i'd donate.

yea..i'd like to donate a bit, tho it wont be much[probably like AU$10, i kinda dont really have much money to spend-_-;;]
but i guess it'll all add up?
[n this is a PO Box thing is a good idea, coz i dont have no credit card, n my parents for sure wont lend theirs to me]

it could be cash (if you trust the posties) ..... i mean..the original idea WAS to stuff cash in the envelope...but u can do it any how if you like...

ekyec -> yup, any amount helps. If everyone on this site donated just $1, we'd have enough to keep JCnet up for the next 5 years!

Yeah I'll most likely be donating by cash. Hey, when posties sort through mail, do they scan (x-ray style) all the letters and stuff? Just to see if there's anything 'dangerous' in them? haha, I don't want no posties stealing my donation! I'll look into money orders though. How exactly do they work? ><

money orders are easy. all you do is go to your post office, say you wanna purchase a money order. tell them how much you want on the cheque, the exact name of the person you want the money order to be paid to. you have to pay a small fee of course....a few bucks i think.

but i guess if you feel okay about sending in cash, then that'll prolly be easier and less of a hassle.

Hey 'mates!! :D

Anyway I brought this up in the Singaporean incarnation of this poll.... Do your local (Australian) banks provide services such as money transfers (between accounts of either the same or different banks)?

If such services are available, then some of you here might wish to consider that, since there's no need to mail any cash and this pretty much saves much of the hassle of worrying about the cash being stolen by them posties.

i'm not sure about other banks...

every little bit counts....anything you can afford would be great!! =)

wow ...two days and you're hooked.... i think i was the same right from the beginning

well i'm pretty sure all banks have internet banking options. but if you haven't yet got your account authorised to use this service, you need to get it authorised with passwords and such, then you can transfer funds to another account, provided you have their bsb and account info.

i'd love to donate but since i dont have a job therefore dont earn my own money yet i'd have to ask my dad to donate. and he would say no because he's not the type of person to donate to something he doesnt think is worthy and as bad as it sounds, he doesnt like jay chou  and i know his reaction would be, 'what?! you want me to spend my money on a website about some singer that you'll probably get over in two months?'
as soon as i get my own job and a credit card i'll donate straightaway :)

i like, totally like, agree with ekyec, cos we like in the same positions...i think i could donate aorund 5-10 cos im still in 'negotitaions' with parents about my money but i reckon that is the starting amouNT!! and i htink i would hav to stick it in an envelope cos i got no credit card and parents dont trust internet payments.. yo cloudsurfer, if u were to get a PO box, where would it be? as in location etc...

MichelleW Haha...welcome to the family...you talk like a regular!! I was hooked from the word go too...I think $20 US is about $40 Aus...I was gonna search for a conversion but my computer is screwed...

lepencil Bank transfer sounds decent..but whose account are we sending our cash to? Yours? :D or does JCN actually have a bank account?

I don't have a credit card and don't mind to donate by cash. Cloudy, this is not the public poll right ? I come across this thread and wonder how I can donate some. It will be great if you set up any way to serve those who live in Asia and don't have credit card. It's better and saver than send to US.

I think it's too risk to put cash into envelope and send it, I don't know your country post system, but in mine it's absolutely gone away. The cashier chaque and money order is preferable and make sure that it won't be stolen.

ekyec: my sis used to work at the post office factory part tym, and apparently they only open it wen the parcel or envelope jams the machine up, so think money is fine. I've also decided to with cash and i mite do it this weekend or sumfink. lets hope we can donate alot to keep jc.net running perfectly

MK Just to say my 2 cents. This site is worth it...I mean, surely after 5 forums you know a good quality forum when you see it.

Cloudy Thanks for setting up the Private Bag for everyone. So if we want to send money order, at the post office..are we asking for it in Australian dollars..or should we be asking for it in American dollars?

So cLoUdSuRfEr Are you like the owner of the website? Can we trust you? I don't know about the others but I can definetely trust you. If I have time 2day or 2morrow I'd donate like $50 NZ Dollars.
I'll let you know when I go to the post office.
Hmm... If I donate NZ Dollars over, you'll have to change it to Aussie dollars k ?
