Which is your favourite Jay's album?

With the new album, "Qi Li Xiang" release, I just thought of starting a new poll,to decide again and to choose your favourite album from the five. I just got QLX just thirty minutes ago. I haven't exactly listen to the album yet. :glug: I've watched the MTV already though. It's fabulous. :excited:

So which is your favourite album after listening to the previous four albums and QLX? Do you still prefer one of the previous four, or have great likings to the whole new Qi Li Xiang?

i voted for 8 dimensions cos i felt that that album has too much of my favourite songs and has all those shu qing ge like ban dao tie he, an hao and hui dao guo qu.
i also just bought qi li xiang around two hours ago, or maybe next time i will think qi li xiang is better:P cos i haven't heard too much of the songs yet:P

i voted for yeh hui mei as i thought that it was the most mature piece of work that jay has done besides Qi Li Xiang which i haven't familiarised myself fully with yet. yeh hui mei displays jay's talents is many fields and yet again surprised us with his wonderful MVs shot all over the world, not to mention his unique MV of qing tian with the kissing scene which sparked off so much conversation. The songs are all really good and they bring back many sweet memories in my opinion. :D

I love all the albums but currently my favorite one is 7Lx. that's only because the songs are still new to me and im in that stage where I have to play it over and over again until every word is burned into my brain :) I think one of the songs that clinched it for 7Lx was Yuan You Hui, if a guy sang it to me right at this moment i'd kiss him :laughing:

well personally though 8d was really good.. had a really good mix of songs.. well was just listening to Qi Li Xiang and tot well why not vote for it.. haha..

on 1st listen this new album sounds really good.. much better than other albums which often needs a few listens.. have to say jiang jun ans wai po are 2 really good songs.. jiang jun esp sounds abit like a rap song w alot of black influence...

I like 8 dimensions myself. I like the sound of "the last battle", I feel bright when I listen to "Ye ye pao de cha", I like the feeling of loneliness in "Ban dao tie he", and I like the fast songs like "Ban shou ren" and "Long quan"....cuz it makes me energetic. :-) So I have to vote for this album. Other albums are also great, actually my most fav songs are all in both 5 albums. Now I"m currently so deep in love with "Yuan you hui" A great romantic song indeed.

I voted for Fantasy. Sometimes I think my favorite album is Eight Dimensions, sometimes it might jump to Ye Hui Mei or Jay, but in the end, it always goes back to Fantasy. It has the best mix of songs, and it seems like all of Jay's other releases derive from what he made in Fantasy. Not only that, I cannot deny a song like An Jing. It calls to me. +_+

I voted for Yeh Hui Mei. I love the song Year 3 Class 2 (San Nian Er Ban) because it has that nice soothing ping pong sound throughout the whole song. The 11 songs on Yeh Hui Mei has has its own unique tunes/melody/lyrics. Yeh Hui Mei has its on kind of style. Every song in this album has this nice relaxation kind of feeling to me. Plus I love the videos from this album. This album is one of a kind!

i voted for fantasy because it has most of my favorite songs. I like other songs from the other albums too but I like Jian Dan Ai and Kao Bu Liao Ko the most among all his songs.

I started this thread and yet I didn't vote till now. :oops:

I'm still stucked between choices. Fantasy and Qi Li Xiang. :oops: I remembered last year I voted for Yeh Hui Mei, but now, I'm sticking back to Fantasy and the new Qi Li Xiang is getting me crazy. :oops: Guess, my final choice will still be Fantasy. The songsjust got stuck in my mind for years. Till now, I can still be heard humming Jian Dan Ai or Kai BU Liao Kou. :sweat: Qi Li Xiang is fantastic too. I must admit that Jay's vocal has improved alot and the different styles in his album was attracting. Guess that's a close second. :happy: I like it when Jay takes up the challenge to try different things too! Just like the MV of Zhi Zhang Zhi Shang. The dark eye liners and goatee.

i voted for Yeh Hui Mei because it was the first of jay's albums i have ever heard and all the songs are completely stuck in my head! I just ordered Qi li Xiang today so i will have it in a couple of days. But i listen to it online at www.stsky.com i know some of you might know this site but for others who don't and don't have the album you can hear it there. And you can't download because it's protected :p so you have to buy the album! besides why wouldn't you want to support jay ^_^

Maybe it's the first great Jay album I've heard, that's why I don't think any album will ever be "better" in my opinion unless it's alot better than Fantasy. I mean if it's a the better album, why vote for another one just because the better one was released first... :dry: Just my opinion, whenever I vote for best "insert whatever here" I just compare them as if they were both released at the same time.

I haven;t cast my vote yet, coz I couldn't make up my mind. 7LX was just been released and it's still very new to me. So right now, I'm listening to 7lx excitedly like 24/7, so I could be biased thinking that my favorite is 7lx.

Well, Fantasy, it's very fresh and original, it was what caught me to become a Jay listener. Still remember the first time I listen to this album, I was like... WOW, this album is super good, like one whole album is really GOOD! But then, Jay was still new, there are not much elemenmts and choice of instruments he used back then.

Ye Hui Mei, this album gives me a complete shock. His YFZM gave me a huge impact, as it was the first of its kind that he ever did. It was like a miracelous song that gives the album a big surprise entrance. And as I listen to the whole album, I was... not very impressed at first, coz his style slightly broadened to rock and guitar based. I was shocked by Nou Fu, shocked by Ta de Jie Mao, shocked by Ai Qing Xuan Ya, shocked by Shuang Dao. Practically, this album gives me a HUGE impact, and it takes time for me to grow and liked all the songs... but after I grow to like them, the songs are more everlasting in my ears... for some reason... I could listen to this album forever and not get bored of it.

Qi Li Xiang, what can I say... its Zhi Zhan Zhi Shang, Qi Li Xiang, Ge Qian, and Wai Po really GOT me. IT's like... to me, QLX is like the best pop ballad Jay ever composed. The melody is eternal and it just rooted in my head. And Ge Qian, would be the best slow ballad he ever composed. I'm so impressed with all the ballads in here. I rarely goes for Jay's ballads, coz I think he's upbeat songs are much more creative, suprising, and original, but this album captivated me with its ballad... as for the upbeat songs were pretty much... okay.

So I haven't decided yet. Perhaps I will cast my vote after a couple of months, that will gives me a more objective view.

It is better than Jay's old ones I think.
I love all the songs on the album and If I had tyo choose only one, I wouldn't.
They show the reactions of Jay's feelings in that album so thats why its the best.

Jay was really good since it was the first and it made me a fan. Black Humour...Loong Juen Feng... Ke Ai Nu Ren... he was new AND genuine.... so its alwiz one of my tops.

Fantasy... you could hear a little change in Jay's music.... but anyhow Shanghai1943..... Kai Bu Liao Kou.... An Jing..... Jian Dan Ai.... is too good too forget.

8 Dimensions had Ban Dao Tie He.... and I LOVED that song to bits!!!! Hui Dao Guo Qu was a really good song for the One 2 Free Cm... he was so cute in it.... An Hao.... Loong Quen.... were also great. And not forgetting the GD55 CM song... 爷爷泡的茶

Qi Li Xiang... I CANT GET ENUFF OF IT!!!! Wo De Di Pan... cool rapping. Qi Li Xiang... currently suits my relationship mood... Jie Kou, lyrics that touch the heart.... Wai Po.....I love the tune. 将军...X300's CM song.... How-in-the-world he can sing the lyrics is like beyond me. Trying to rap like him is somewhat impossible.... no one can rap as good as him. Ge Qian.... Meaningful lyrics.... sad and touching tune.... perfect singer.... wat-more-could-we-ask-for? You Yuan Hui... One 2 Free's CM again.... and it was so funny... he speaks canto in a really cute way...have u guys watched it yet? If u havent u really have to get it.

Fantasy was also the first jay album i heard.. i love yip way may because of all the different stlye and genre that jay tries to go for. qi li xiang was good too and fantasy.
i listen too much to eight dimensions and i got sick of it in the end so i think that is my least favourite of jay.

my favourite has to be 'Jay' album. That's what made me fall in love with him in the first place. i feel that it is a very creative album and it brings a different edge to the music scene that time. I don't think he can go back and create song with those kind of 'feel' anymore.

but not not saying that his current albums aren't good .. just that different album gives a different feel to it and i loved what he has protrayed in the first album. but then again, 'ba, wo hui la le' from the second album is just classic! not to mention YHM album .. what a revolutionary!

all songs are fantastic! though many people say that Jay just kept the same style and didn't bring anything new in this album, i don't think there's anything worng with that, as Jay says why change when there's still so much to explore in that genre? :tongue:

Ye Hui Mei still remains my favourite Jay album thus far. I think Fantasy comes in a close second. November's Chopin will be next, maybe because I haven't quite listen to it frequent enough. But Ye Hui Mei has left me an impression of Jay more than any other of his album because I loved every single track on that album. It's the only album I truely liked all of the songs on it!

the first jay cd i eva bought was da hidden track ep n dat had all da mv's for yeh hui mei, n i started liking jay eva since i heard qing tian (cloudless day) n ai qing xuan ya (love's cliff) and i love the mv's too ^^

funny. only a small minority of people voted for his new album. I like "November's Chopin" as it is more refined. His vocals are clearer and there is also a really high pitch song entitled "Fa Ru Xue" which I enjoyed pretty much.

Ye Hui Mei is by far, the album in which he has shown the most talent and versatility. But that's my opinion.

I just feel that that he actually poured his heart and soul into it. Not that he didn't for the other albs, but for this album, I think he just put in more, if you get what I mean.

The songs there appeal to me more. Like "Love's Cliff (Ai Qing Xuan Ya)", "Cloudless Day (Qing Tian)", and "Rice Fields (Ti Tian)". For me, the lyrics have a deeper meaning. The music is just...there's just something there. I don't know. Probably has to do with the fact that he named it after his mom. Meh.

But most of my favourite songs are from that album and I just adore it.

I just got into Jay's music seriously recently and have gone thru his 6 albums so far.

I think each has its distinctive quality and great songs, and that is a remarkable achievement for chinese pop.

My personal fav has been Fantasy for being the most breakthru and most creative. Not to mention, it is the one with the most number of great songs that is already classic.

It is also the most replayable album where every song is not tired sounding and is still fresh be it the 1st time you hear it or the 100th time.

Lol I voted for November's Chopin.
Basically its because its the only album out of the poll answers that I have and I only started to really appreciate(start listening to) Jay's music during that period of time when he released that album.
And I really like most of the songs in this album too. Most of my favorite songs come from this album, with a few exceptions to Qi Li Xiang, An Jing, Qing Tian, etc.

Well, I loved November's Chopin cos, well I don't really know how to say it. But I guess it has many songs that just made my heart feel something that's an indescribable feeling.

Fantasy can never be "overthrown" as my favourite album just because I'm very partial to older albums of an artist, particularly around the time when I first got into them, because they leave such a deep impression, it's just kind of static, it'll always stay there, so the real difficulty for me is what I like best after Fantasy. I'd say my favourites are Fantasy, then Qi Li Xiang, Ye Hui Mei, November Chopin, Jay and then 8D.

...I feel like I'm almost doing a diservice to his first album, not ranking it very high, it is quite good, but what comes after is just amazing.

I've listened to all his CD's up until now... and after listening to so many of his songs, my favourite album is Qi Li Xiang... Yeh Hui Mei comes VERY VERY close!!! But Qi Li Xiang wins for me!!! Gee, all of Jay's albums are good and have at LEAST 1-3 songs that WOW me :D

Whyyyyyy? Why the Jay album gets the least votes? :wacko: I love it so much. I scream to my firends'faces :"I love Jay!" all the times and I really mean it, I love Jay, the person and Jay, the album. Xing qing, niang zi, hei se you mo, counter clockwise used to make me think that Jay would not be a person but a ghost who died with dreams haven't been fulfilled yet, so he sneaked back to whisper loudly what he truely wanted, or least he can walk up side down. The feeling is so raw, and that the side of him I love the most, raw, arrogant, nuts but true to himself.

Orange jasmine first asian album i've ever listened to. It got me listening to other asian artists after that. It was also the reason why i fell in love with JAY. But all his other albums are great especially the older ones.
