The first Indonesian Idol has begun more than 1 month. The show is success here in Indonesia, so i think it need a seperated thread to talk about it.

For those who don't know about this show, I'll review it...
The show airs on local tv station, RCTI, every Friday at 8 pm local time.

P.S. : the grey images show finalist who have been eliminated. so the other hand, the colourful one show finalist who still exists.

These 11 finalists make through the final after passed several audition.
Actually, there should be just 10 finalists (which is 3 from each 3 groups, and 1 from wildcard show)
Group 1 : Helena, Micky, Delon
Group 2 : Adika, Joy, Winda
Group 3 : Bona, Suci, Nania
WildCard : Karen

Then, the judges insist to pass Lucky. They said Lucky deserved to go to final :dry:
So the rules have to changed, at the first week, Indonesian Idol have to eliminate 2 finalists.

First week :
the theme was Top 40 songs. They sang new songs, and the two who have to eliminated were Adika and Suci.

Nania was absent coz she had appendictis surgery.
(the rule is if one contestant can only absent once, more than that will be eliminated. It happened in Pop Idol in UK).

No Guest Star and at Sept 4 will be announced who The First Indonesian Idol

Well last nite is such a horrible one!!! How can Lucky get eliminated??? :profanit: He sang brilliantly!!! OMG..i even get the 'chill' and he get eliminated??? I think the one who deserve it is Helena..she sang soooooo weird last nite.

Delon..thank God he choose the right song for his vocal..now..even Dimas jay said that he sang great yesterday!!! :yeah:

Honestly I don't feel sad knowing that Lucky is the one who was eliminated. I'm agree with Dimas Jay, too much vibra. Umm... not good for my ears. hhaha kidding.
Hmm... Helena is the one who should be eliminated instead. ^^;;
And last night Nania didn't perform well. Her voice didn't match with the orchestra. ^^;; but it's okay because she just recovered from her illness. =)

I just realized that II finalists are from many different race. Batak, Papua and even Chinese. Indo is so 'beragam' just like 'Gado gado'. :love:

Nania : wow... what superb voices, even though mess up with the orchestra (but it made sense after being recovered from surgery)
Michael : sang very well, great job, now i can hear his voice clearly...
Helena : didn't make any improve with her voices... (next week will be her to be eliminated)
Lucky : too many vibra, think should deserve it to be eliminated...
Joy : didn't impress me much this time... dunno why...
Delon : very good, getting better and better....

Wah Sughie, thanks a bunch for this new thread. I was always either late or miss completely the II, and never follow the daily updates (diary ??). Too bad they don't have rerun like AI in star world before. Now it's top 5 already, interesting, I should follow them weekly. I think they should sing more than 1 song (theme) to give them better chance to proof their range.

Hehehe, for "country", I'd suggest keroncong (let's see who could get away with " that special "cengkok"), lagu lagu daerah or national songs (since it's our National Month of August !!).

Let's bet for the top 3. Mine : Delon, Nania, Joy. Now it's hard to predict who will be Juara, but my guess will be Nania, especially if she got supports from Batak/North Sumatera people like AFI :-(.

My cousin (a choir singer too, he and Delon are in the same 'choir organization') called Delon few days ago (Monday if i'm not mistaken), and Delon ask for help about what song to sing next Friday. and my cousin called me, and ask me to help Delon...How can i help him, i don't know the theme, he didn't tell my cousin. Think for a while and i suggest a song by Kahitna "Tentang Diriku" ?? or something sounds like that (ost. Culunnya Pacarku, it heppened matches with the theme), not too fast not too slow, and i can imagine that he can sing that song well ....but i think my cousin didn't tell Delon about my suggestion :shifty:

and for top 2 : Joy and Delon (he has sooo many fans outhere, ladies and gentlemen, i saw II extra yesterday and when the reporter ask 'Who is your favorite?' , almost all of the people answered "DELLLONNNNNN!!!!!!!!!" :sweat:

Actually the song by Kahitna Tentang Diriku is kinda a hard song. You have to have long breathing to finish the words. I dunno about your cousin is his friend Aina..maybe you can have Delon number? :brows:

God, I always miss II, coz I got fellowship on Friday night, *sniff*. But I pretty much know the updates. My fave would be Joy yah, coz she's very confident in herself, and she smiles a lot, tho her expression when singin was kinda disturbing sometimes, but overall, she's good. Nania, don't need to say more, leh. She's too good. I only wish Delon gets better and better... I personally think his voice isn't extraordinary, I would prefer Suci to replace him (if only she wasn't eliminated).

Michael is eliminated. When I saw the flashback of his 'journey' in II, I realized how nice and humble he is. Even Mutia cried for him ehehehhe.
I was stuck in traffic jam (ah... as usual. Jakarta gtow loh!! :tongue: ) so I missed Delon's performance but after listening to judges' comments about him, I'm pretty sure he performed badly tonight. ^^;
But.. why Michael? Why not Delon? He can't sing fast song at all. :sweat: Michael has a unique voice while Delon is kinda... common or STD (kata Mutia) hehehe. :tongue:

Hehe, I have to agree with you, Aina. No matter how much girls love Delon, I really wish he wouldn't be the one who won this II competition. I don't want him to represent Indonesia in the World Idol, that is going to be a huge embarassment. Up to this stage, I think I'll defend Joy to the end. Nania is good also, her voice is absolutely grand, but she doesn't really moves her body much when singing. I think Joy is a true entertainer. Though many of you guys don't like her expression when singing, but if I have to be fair, she's really good. Even Djay who didn't like her in the beginning could change his mind about her. Her performance is very stable from day to day. She could sing a lot of genres and her performance is still good. (unlike Delon who couldn't even control his pitch when he sings upbeat songs :wacko: ).

I'll say either Nania or Joy... I dun really go for Helena. Though she's pretty, but her voice is just... not powerful enough. At certain times, I heard her nasal voice too. But I think Nania would be the one who win this... that's just my hunch, though... :whistle:

It's ok Summerjie..everyone have their own opinion. To be honest i don't want him to be the winner too..but at least he must be in the top 3!!! Helena very good performance, but too bad she was eliminated, although i've already predicted. But saw her performance last night, she didn't deserve to lose. (I think Krisdayanti' upbeat song give the bad luck, u remembered when Suci sang "Rembulan").

Hahaha, Aina... I can understand your feeling. I think we girls are quite biased in judging Helena because we know that most guys are wooing her. I know this one guy (whom I kind of interested in at first) LOVED Helena so much. He would vote for Helena and priased her performance as superb. But when I watch her sing, I thought.... hm... STD. I think Suci is even better. But then, I don't know... I always think she just sang OK.... not superb or anything.

I think Delon really wanted to be eliminated last week. I saw his expression when Helena was announced to be the eliminated one, he looked so gloomy... like... "Oh, I wish it was me instead." Yeah, I agree that Delon is quite in a tough position. His burden is quite heavy. At one point, he wants to perform well, but he got limitation. At other point, he tried his best but always got comment "pedes" from the judges. At other point, he wished to be eliminated but his fans are LOTS and they wanted him to stay. Aiyooo... suddenly I pity that guy. But still I don't wish him to win. I think he'll be out next week. :tongue:

I voted for JOY five times last week. WOw, she was GREAT... when she sang mengertilah kasih, there's one part where she sang maginficently... and all the audiences gave her applause... just at the time, I felt prickles down my spine (bulu kuduk merinding) because she sang it so AWESOME.

Nania, she has "modal suara" but agree with Sugie that he hasn't really show much improvement since the beginning up till now.

To tell the truth, KD didn't really make a good judge. Her comments are pretty much... aiyo... not connected to their performance. Actually, I think none of the judges in II is good. The one that could gives a fair comment is Indra (coz he's a musician)..., and Titi is like the Paula Abdul of II (too nice). Mukas and Djay... I barely listen to their opinion. :dry:

anyway, this week theme is Indonesian DIVA (i think they want to eliminate Delon so much). i heard the rumours about how RCTI (or producer) manipulate the polling. of course they cannot manipulate how many votes did each finalist get, coz this is international show, BUT somehow they manipulate the timing they closed the poll. if someone (they think) should be eliminated was on the bottom, they closed the poll quickly. otherwise, if someone (they think) should not be eliminated was on the bottom, they try to "ngulur2 waktu". remember what happened to Lucky, and Helena? seems like the timing they closed the poll longer than usuall, but too bad for them, the result didn't change as they want. :wink2:

Sughie, I left indo 3 years ago but a year before that I spend 2 semesters in Beijing and only come home for 1 month in the middle of it and spent 3 months before i left to US. So actually I've been pretty much out of the Indo pop culture scene for 4 years.
I heard suci's voice on the track from the Idol album and well, her voice was okay. I mean, granted, all the finalists have good voice. That's a given , otherwise they wont be a finalist. I wish I can see her video so I can see her stage performance because really, that's what Idol show is all about. To be fair, an idol is someone who can garner alot of people's attention and can create a large fan base. Seems to me Delon is pretty apt at doing just that. Hmmh, I was quite shocked - shouldn't actually, if I remember about Delon's fans #. Hah, the final won't be seru because the two are of different quality. Darn, it'll be on Saturday, and I have a function that I have to attend, darn - darn - darn !. I hope RCTI reruns it on Sunday or some other time recaps, I miss so much of the spektakuler show - only result shows.

On world Idol, I read in Gadis that Guy Sebastian (Australian Idol) actually dislikes it, cause it becomes "who's jury gave the harshest comments". He prefers that World Idol is only a showcase of idols winners from allover the world - which is right I think !. Maybe BMG wants it that way, so they can internationally launch whoever won World Idol. Still - I think American Idol winner is the most popular among the others, simply because the show is shown worldwide ... and Simon.

Vinka, we saw Malaysian idol on Indosiar some months ago when AFI had combined Indo - Malay show along with Siti Nurhaliza. I prefer ours, still think in SEA region - Indonesian and Philipinos are the best voices.

Hmm... dreamstar, I think you shouldn't judge Joy just because your friends said she;s over-confident. There's nothing wrong for being confident. A star needs confidence, after all. But judging her to be over-confident is a little bit around the bush. From all II show that I watched, every time Joy received a compliment from the Jury, she'll bow and the way she said thank you was very humble. And my friends who attended the show in Balai Sarbini said that Joy is the friendliest amongst all the idols. So... I really don't understand why ppl have to 'hate' her just because of her expression/looks. I used to dislike her in the beginning... but my view on her changed after I watched II over and over... because there... you can actually see the true attitude of the person. She was once in a bottom three... but now, she manage to get into the top 2. She reminded me of Rubben Studdanrd who was never really oustanding in the beginning but excelled out after several shows. I could only say... if ppl judge to dislike someone only because of her look, they'll definately overlook all the good aspects from that person. Joy might not be as pretty as Helena or Nania, but she's the one with an attitude and her performance is outstanding. None of the juries know how to give a bad comment on her, because she always performed well.

vinka, when Joy sang a sad song, her expression is sad also. She's always good in expressing the song that she sings (that;s the comments from the juries, not me). And that's what Nania lacks off.

Sughie: I think Nania cried because she's touched. She realized that that day was the last day she's going to sing in the Idol stage, and she couldn't help but crying after she remember the whole journey she made until she made it this far. I don't think she was disappointed or anything... after all... this is depended on votes, not what Jury thought about her.

I have no comment on Delon. That guy is goodlooking, but I don't think his performance was never consistent. Actually, I don't want him to be in the World Idol... seriously. OK..i'm so pissed off last nite!!! :-x I went to watch Indonesian Idol grand final at the Istora senayan last nite with my friend. And i just hate the way Mukas said about why the judges picked Invicible for Delon!! How can she said that because Delon is number 2??? :profanit: Damn her!! And you know what the atmosfer after she said that in the Istora changed completely. maybe you can't see this because of the commercial break but in the stadium..all of the fans specially Delon fans insist Mutia to apologize!!!! How can she said that??? she supposed to be neutral. And she really really underestimate Delon. Even Joy's fans also stand behind Delon cos you know what...Delon almost cried after Mukas said that!!! :realmad: Luckily Ata and Irgi stand beside him to give him support and he went back to the backstage again!! Damn..okay maybe his voice is not super duper great but he is brilliant for me. Just like Mukas said after all the fans insist her to apologize that she will apologize to Delon in the next performance..for an amateur, delon is SUPERB. Not like Joy who've already have lots of albums, Delon haven't got any!! Can you all imagine if Delon won the competition, how people and medias would talk bad things about him?

If Delon won the competition,...I'll be disappointed and I'll conclude that this kind of show (where the winner is decided by audience) is not suitable for Indonesia. Indonesians has tendency to be a follower (ikut2an), and that's really bad bad bad for judging a competition like this. The main problem with Indonesians are... they're very easily turned on by sympathy. ANd when we spot someone is crying or humiliated, we will defend him. Defending him by forcing Mukas to apologize is fine, but defending him by making him wins the Idol competition, for me it's like another case of Veri AFI,... who didn't deserve to win, but won anyway because of sympathy.

Sigh... well, I hope Joy wins..., not because I idolize her, but because we all know she could be a better represantative for Indonesia in the World Idol. Even if in the end, Delon would be more popular then Joy, then let it be. But the winner still have to be the best one.

About Delon, I'm very very sure that even if he didn't win this competition, he'll accept many job offers in Sinetron, commercials, or as presenters. Gua jamin deh! Pasti dia banyak kedatengan order and bakalan jadi kaya abis ini! :sweat:

Well the judges kinda harsh it's true. But i think even in US Simon didn't give comment as harsh as them. We still live in the East and i think that comments are really really deep. She even join Warna before Warna get famous and then resign before their make their first album that make hits. Hah, I missed the whole fanfare of the final nights. I was fidgeting at the party and sms my friend to get updates. Now I'm buying tabloids to get the feel of the final nights. StarNova last week was very funny; they feature Delon's mother - she feel unwell every Friday nite; hiding in the attic until the jury finished their judgement - and Delon's brother call out loud. She couldn't sleep until morning thinking about juries harsh judgement. Poor her, that's what mother's love. She even didn't mind if Delon kalah and go home. Aina - they have pics of the neighbourhood, were you in there ???.

Know what, I got e mail (from the so - so Delon's friends or what) endorsing not to vote Delon. It said : Delon himself feel so pressured - if he won and fail in the world idol it will ruin his career because ppl will think it's so unfair and turn their back on him.
Hah, this whole Idol thing is supposed to be fun. Of course in terms of quality Joy should win, but the winner is decided by sms, expect the unexpected !.
I actually hate RCTI/ the Idol organizer for extending the sms voting to a week. For a fair result (and not overexploiting the Idol show), it should end the very Saturday final night. Quite sure if Delon win with razor cut margins to Joy it will become a big roar... and it'll probably turn into the race issue.

I also wonder why the jury concerns so much about the world idol and worried that if Delon is the one going there will be malu malu in. I would like to contest that :
- from popularity, no Idol show on earth would beat American Idols - that's shown everywhere
- each contestant only got 1 opportunity to sing, so you evaluate the contestant based on the short video and say 5 minutes of live show : a mix between LOOKS, voice quality and the right song choice.
- who watch this show ? I'd bet mostly female. Female idolized male much more than female.
- more Asian countries will join the idol show. What is the biggest race in Asia, Chinese !
So adding all factors together, actually if Delon joins, he choose the right song and performs well - what have they got to loose ??.

am so sorry for delon and really pissed off when i heard what u galz talked about in the thread. i've been thinking since last 3 weeks when nania was out from II that Joy will be the II. i think the competition is not fair at all. Joy has an experience in performance and other singing competition and Delon doesnt have any. he only sings for a wedding party but it's not a professional performance. it's really like a freelance for him.

also very dissapointed with RCTI tried to make their reality show is different from others. but dont think that people outside already know that they are cheating. I don't really like Joy in the Top 5 performance of II. She likes to attract other people attention and just want to show off her talent. All people know that she has a great voice but her attitude didn't show that she's a nice person. maybe after she become II, she'll be another person not herself anymore...

The winner or Indonesian Idol is a deserving winner. I'm happy with the result.

And get real, lah guys. Everybody has their own preferences, if the one they liked doesn't win, don't diss the winner, dong. What do you think Joy will feel when she reads all your comments? After all, she also crawled her way up to the top. It's not like... she's popular since the beginning (like Nania and Delon). She was once in the bottom top 3, remember?

And about the cheating in the polling one,... it's still not proven yet. RCTI said the votes for Joy were up to 4 Million of votes, and the difference between the votes are 5%, so the differences is about 750.000 votes. It's a pretty big number lah... and it's impossible if they could cheat out of it by closing the poll once Joy is topping Delon.

Summerjie..how about this fact..me trying to vote for Delon for more than 10 times and NONE of them get delivered..but when i try to vote for Joy only for one time..delivered immediately. And this is not only happened to me but to all of my friends cos we are so confused cos our vote can't get in!!!
Another fact..my sis and her bf parked their car at Athlete Hotel (next to Istora) and when they walked back to the parking area..they walked together with 2 violinist from Magenta Orchestra. And my sis just asking..when they know about Joy gonna win the competition..and they said..since the morning. That's why they only bring Joy's Karena Cinta 'partitur" cos hers is different from Delon's. They even showed the partitur book to my sis..and on the last page is Joy's Karena Cinta. Regarding Helena, it's clearly told in Nova this week. IP entertainment (belongs to Mukas !!!) rush all finalist to sign the contract , she refused and after clearly read through found out that IP requires 3 years contract, afterwards in 15 BLOODY LONG YEARS - 20 % - 10 % royalty (on whatever they're doing ??). Since she didn't agree to sign it, she's considered phk with II and "diusir" around midnight of the Battle goes on show from Park Royal. IP is the company that have problems with Syahrani (jazz singers) when she suffers the disco light ball accident (falling to her head and she suffer lots of problems for months because of that).

Everybody watch last Saturday II Bandung concert ?. Hah, RCTI really exploit Delon to sing so many songs - medley, singles, all males, gile deh. And the audience is clearly more enthusiastic with Delon than Joy, hear the howlings, clappings etc when Delon on stage. With Joy it's more a polite clapping, until "Karena Cinta". Delon sang well overall, but I like him most in medley with 4 females itu. Suci sound so good, darn she should be given a chance to sing solo !!!

Another shocking news i've read from starnova this week.. JOY IS OUT FROM IP!!!:shock: Now i became more nervous about the contract. Joy's lawyer which is also her uncle said that the Ip's contract is really really unfair and made at the rushing time. You have to sign it in hurry and Joy even haven't finished to read it. Wow..i hope Delon made a good choice.

Just bought Delon's new cassette. Em, Karena Cinta sounds sooo slow, I thought my player rans out of battery - makanya sounds so lambat. Bahagiaku lumayan. There's lots of downloads, wallpapers and kuis valentine bareng Delon (check in www.alpha-omega.co.id). Overall, not bad lah.

Lily..if you really want to go to that church (Paulus&Petrus Church at mabes) at Xmas..make sure you arrived there 2 hours before "Misa" starts!!! usually for Misa at 6pm and 9pm... if not, you probably won't get a seat, well maybe you get a seat but outside the church and you can't see Delon..
I think the most strategic place to seat is at the left seats (in front of choir seats) from the main door..or in the middle seats..but remember don't too late becoz you probably will get back seats..

i wonder if anyone will bring cameras and when delon comes out, they took his pictures with blitz...

Hey did u all watch RCTI last nite 10 pm - mmm LA Light or A Mild Live .... There's live ADA Band and also Delon, bits of Delon album launch that afternoon in EX. Heh, Delon was not bad but I was more impressed with Donny of ADA Band, wow the voice is so smooth and yummy - makes me like their new album's song : Manusia Bodoh.

Have you read star Nova? i forgot the edition but i remember that Delon's get a xmas tree from his fans who come to his house bringing the tree and also decorate the tree. Some of my friends went to that church, and they told me the story.
You know what, it was sooo crowded and i think most of jemaat there were not a real jemaat, you know what i mean.. My friend said when Delon sang a song (forgot the title), all little kids and teenagers stood up and run forward to take pictures of Delon :sweat: just like a mini concert, i think.
