I recently watched "Please teach me english" and was hooked to this guy.. he's isn't your usual hot guy but he's damn funny... in the show at least.. haha.. soem of you might remember him as the lead in 'volcano high'.. he last starred in 'windstruck' opp that girl from My Sassy Girl... forgot her name...

My friend goes gagaga over him ^^" I first saw him in Volcano High (I found that movie rather...err... weird..) I watched it cos Sang Woo is in it, while my friend was drooling over this guy. He's funny in Please Teach Me English. Only in that movie did I find him rather hot. Nice nice body..

yeah, this guy is hot! ive watched him with jjang na ra in the joyful story of bright girl.
this series is good but i didn't like the ending though. if you're hooked on jang hyuk then you must watch this series because he acts so cute in there!

I actually bought the movie for my korean-craze brother for his birthday but never get the chance to watch MSG. I will find the time to do so, after I buy Windstruck. Eh, Now I'm confused. Is Windstruck a sequel or a prequel????? :wacko:

Hmmm... i'm not aware of any other series done by Jang Hyuk because he's more of a movie actor and rapper than miniseries venturer. :sweat:

Ooh a Jang Hyuk thread. I simply adored him when I was watching Bright Girl. He's such a good actor! Even my dad likes him. lol. Now I am totally in love with him. I can't believed my luck last night, guys.

One of my friend wanted to go shopping at the outdoor night market after work and it was raining so hard last night.
I was thinking how the heck would they sell anything when it rained so hard like this. My friend wanted to go so bad and I didn't want to upset her so
I had to go with her, thinking the rain could stop when we got to the market.

When I get to the cineplex ( which had the outdoor night market next to it ), it was still raining hard. There were about 30 ppl standing along the coridoor hold cameras looking enthusiastic. The look on their faces just like us waitng for Jay or similar, so I asked a security guard nearby who the heck do thses ppl waiting for. The security guard didn't even know who it was and told me " look at the picture on the van, that's who they are..." so I rushed to the two vans parked near the entrance, and I saw this small pic stuck on it.

So I was happen to come on the day these two stars come to promote their movie!! :excited:
I was like. :excited: ..... then all of a sudden there was a big voice yelling " Keep away please " " Keep away please " repeatedly, so me and my friend just sneaked behind the glass door so we could get a clearer viewer with no one to push us. There he was...Jang Hyeok, :excited: walking the celebrity walk, the cooly handsome, charming, and most attractive :drool: :drool: . Everything seemed to go in slow motion so I could see him so clear. He had the most handsome and celebrity walk with his head stick up like " ...so what...I'm cool, man " look. He didn't afraid of the fan's flash light a bit. He looked so much like in the TV, but with better brighter and baby skin look. So cool.

Then walking slowly but keeping the head down low to avoid the flash light, wearing a bright red top was....Jeon Ji-hyeon. She wore a big shade that covered almost one third of her face and had a blank and tired look. Her hair was glossy pitch black color, contrast to her pearl and poreclain complexion. I saw no spots on anything on her face, not even a tiny piece of dust. :flowers: I was like :bounce: up and down to have acloser look.

When they walk passed me, ppl at the opposit side of the coridoor were pushing and squeezing, and the security guards were so scarry, they pushed everyone away with no mercy that some ppl were pushed against a big movie shedule and it fell over the ground. Unfortunately I didn't have any camera with me so I didn't take anything pic. Phew, the shopping trip last night was a disaster. The rain didn't stop and we waited until 10 pm. and they cancelled the outdoor market and we didn't buy anything. But it was worth it that we saw both Jeon Ji-hyeon and Jang Hyeok. Still cannot believe my luck. :D Everything seemed to go in slow motion last night unlike Jay. When he came everything went so fast that I don't have time to remember anything.

I will pot more pictures of them in Thailand if I can find some.

Need to revive this thread... I finally watched Windstuck in the cinema and I cried for 40 mins at least while watching the movie. I didn't expect it to be so sad on the second half of the movie. The tears started to flow when Jeon Ji Hyun tried to kill herself with her own gun when the doctor said that Jang has died... the expression on her face is heartbreaking. I cried and cried before I realised that my tissue is soaking wet :shy: Altho' most of her failed suicide attempt are hillarious, I think she and Hyuk has struck a good chemistry in the film.

Jang looks so goofy, and when he's so adorable when he pretended to be a mad rapist cum murderer when that Gangster boss slapped JJH in the police station. :laughing: I tried to look for the DVD in KL, but can't find it when Taegukgi (which was screened along with Windstuck in the cinema) is out already...

I've watched My Sassy Girl after Windstruk and can safely say that even tho' Cha Tae Hyun may look like the 'bridge' that link both movies, Windstruck is definately not a prequel of My Sassy Girl. There are similarities in the story plot, but they are different in their own way too.

like i said in the hot guys thread, jang hyuk was growing on me and then they killed him off lol...but it was the first time id seen him in a film. i think he managed to replace the goofy characted portrayed by cha tae hyun in the first really well. but it was clever to bring cha tae hyun in at the end...sort of an afterthought. it made me wanna watch my sassy girl again.. =P

13abygirl, I 've been looking for Volcano High VCD in KL but couldn't find it. Having Hyuk and Oppa in the movie made me wanna see it more!!!! :oops:

laruku, yes, I've watched Teach me English. The casanova part is so funny. When he said, You are boo-ti-pul, I laughed until my side hurts. It is also one of the most romantic thing that I've ever seen in a film (sort of). The part when he chased after Lee Na Young in the Subway train, shouted for her so loud and after the third cabin or so he just said a meek "Candy..." and JH said that Victoria is his sister and eventho he is a playboy he never thinks of Victoria as a lover before he spotted LNY pretending to sleep and put on the red shoes for her ( :love: ). That part is so funny.

Another of my fave scene is the pig chasing one, the pig is so cute, but the NG part is cuter (I think LNY accidentally knocked his ding dong when they were jumping around :laughing: )

He has another work coming out, S-Diary... I hope it's good since he will be out of action for two years to do his National Service (He's been dodging it for soooo many years :crazy: ).

Ü i've watched only Please Teach Me English and Windstruck, two of his works.... he was hilarious in both movies!! and he and Jun Ji-Hyun made me cry in Windstruck.. hehehe.... though he wasn't that much appealing for me, his looks kinda grow on me as i watch him... hehehe.... made me realize he's cute. When a captain made all the cub soldiers to shout for 5 seconds to their families, hyuk and song stood up, and shouted with a little bit shyness. But when they shouted dear parents, I will return safely. See you after 100 days.They couldnt finish the words, and drop their heads down.

Hyuk had his hair short as the rule of the military. Song's hair was a little bit longer, and hyuk's hair was perfect as a Korean soldier. A soldier at the army said a soldier in charge of the hair will make song hair cut. Song should cut more.

Hyuk entered the army around 13:50pm. (SSH entered around 09:20 a.m). His eyes were swollen as if he shed tears already. But a captain ordered to shout for 3 seconds, Hyuk roared as much as men beside hyuk was surprised. Itกฏs the expression of hyuk's promise that he will do his best at the army. Hyuk and Song made a bow together after the military entry ceremony.

Unlike SSH, there is not many fans gathered to send him off because he wishes to enter the camp quietly. It's good to see that he got rid of that terrible long hair for the crewcut now. Sigh, we have to contend with S-Diary before we get to see his new film/drama for 2 yrs.

I recalled reading somewhere that Han Jae Suk is stationed somewhere else where he'll be doing admin kinda work because he's older than the two (he's like 31/32???).

Bee, I'm sure he be getting fanmail from his fanclub members too (although he's not as big as SSH) :wink2: . I'm thinking about writing to Seong Heon oppa and insert a letter for Hyuk oppa for him to pass since they're in the same camp :sweat:

UPDATE (20.01.05): Yoon Kye-sang and Jang Hyuk Receive Citations

Several celebrities who started their military service last year in the DMZ area in Gangwon Province have received citations recently. Yoon Kye-sang, a member of the popular male group G.O.D., received a citation from the division commander on Jan. 14 after completing his boot training. He has been dispatched to a reconnaissance company as a sniper.

Jang Hyuk, who received boot training at the Victory Division last year, received a citation as an exemplary soldier for successfully completing the hard training in a rugged mountainous area. Currently, Jang is also serving as a sniper at a reconnaissance company.

"About five new conscripts were awarded with citations for diligence and exemplary behavior during training," said a military official

The new MBC TV series, Thank You, will premiere on March 21, 2007. Set in the beautiful background of the fictional Pureundo island, Thank You will tell a story about a talented doctor Min Ki-seo (actor Jang Hyuk) who meets Lee Young-shin (actress Kong Hyo-jin), a single mother whose 8-year-old daughter, Bom (Seo Sin-ae), has AIDS. But Lee Young-shin never loses hope that her daughter will be cured from AIDS, and as Min Ki-seo gradually opens his heart to the people close to him, a miracle happens in his life.

Actor Jang Hyuk appeared in the TV series Great Ambition in 2003 and went on to star in the leading role of several major films. Thank You will be his first TV series in 4 years. Kong Hyo-jin co-starred with Jang Hyuk in the movie Whasango before and this is her second time to be cast together with him. Kong Hyo-jin will play the role of Lee Young-shin, a single mom who is regarded by her neighbors as the prettiest woman in Pureundo. It will be the actress's first role as a young mother. Seo Sin-ae, who has appeared in many TV commercials, will play the character Bom, who is the daughter of Lee Young-shin. The child actress will be making her TV debut with Thank You. i finished the drama within 2 days.
