My piano teacher said in order to play well in piano you must know the composer's background...right? So she asigned a composer for me...and it was Jay! (She knows how much I love him...everyone that knows me does). And she gave me loads of questions she wants me to find out, and I can answer most of them but not this: What is Jay's favourite band? She knows a bit about jay cuz her friend told her, but she gave me a clue: he got some of his music ideas from the band and it's an English band. Does anyone know? I'm getting more desperate now! Can someone please tell me? Thkz~!

That's what I was thinking.. Since the question was favourite band.. It can't be really any R&B artists like Usher. hmm..

I don't know what other groups inspired him to write songs in previous albums or if any group even inspired him but looks as if Nuo Fu (Coward) on Ye Hui Mei was from listening to Linkin Park or something.

Bon Jovi or similar artist...

purely a guess, but I have my reasons... however, the evil board has an error and 20 lines worth of explanation was washed away!! :( anyways, I think Jay Luver must have his/her answers already...!! So who is it???? :-)

hmmm... yeah, it COULD BE Linkin Park.... cos in his MV "Ban Shou Ren/The Orcs", it looked somewhat like Linkin Park's In The End... (convincing enough?) hehehe... well, i know this is a bit shallow.... but hey, it could be possible! as for Usher.... Usher never was included in a ny band.. he's a solo performer ever since.... Ü well, it's possible that he got inspiration from both artists... cos Usher sings r&b ballads and raps too.. and Linkin Park.. well, they rap sooo well!
ei... whaddya know!!! THEY ARE MY FAVORITE ARTISTS!!!!! hehehehe..... Jay Chou, Linkin Park and Usher.... hmmm... Ü

lol yea, it's probably Nan Quan Ma Ma now, since he helped them so much for their first album. He probably likes SHE also, because he's composed 3 songs for them.

yes, Fang Wen San wrote the lyrics of the song Hou Niao, but Jay composed the tune. He also composed He Bing Gong Yuan and Re Dai Yu Lin for SHE. so maybe Jay does like SHE! I thought he liked Ella or something (in a friendly way :D)

Didn't she say English band? Mmmm...maybe it's Coldplay or Beatles or something. I know many people like the beatles. Or maybe it's M2M ^_^;;(no, actually I just like that band).

There aren't many good english bands out there, imo, but maybe his favourite band is the Spice Girls(i loved that band).

I think Jay's favourite band is Linkin Park. I heard him mentioning about Linkin Park's music in one fo the interview before..he said something like...Linkin Park's music is good but their band are lack of a female...If I am not mistaken it was something like that...

will_zhng, hey its cute that you are trying to help organize things around here (or just trying to make a point), but please dont declare a forum closed like that, it'll confuse other people.
1) it isnt closed, I can still post, see? 2)you dont have the power to close anything, only moderators or admins do 3) why close this forum...we can make a Jay discovery tomorrow on his favorite artists and start talking again.

As for my two cents, Jay wrote songs for SHE, that doesnt necessarily mean he likes their music right? OK Im not trying to say Jay doesnt like their music or SHE is bad or anything, I think SHE are pretty cute and talented, but because Jay writes for Artist X, doesnt mean he listens to Artist X all the time right?

I think Jay is into alot of Rap and RnB and Hip Hop. Not necessarily 50 Cent Eminem Hip Hop but more like Babyface, yes Usher, Justin Timberlake (OMG Justin is hip hop?), and other chinese artists. Bands like Coldplay and Oasis should be on his list (of course Oasis, he rewrote the lyrics to Stop Crying Your Heart Out!) Linkin Park should be there too but his music isnt really influenced by them at all, LP is alot more rock than Jay. If he did like them that much, it should reflect onto his music right? Maybe Im all wrong about it, but I do know Jay listens to what is considered 'good' music.

I never suggested that he listens to SHE's music all the time, just that he might be good friends with them. After all, one's favorite band might not be just because of it's music, but the members inside it. lol you never know! :-)
