I like his music when i first heard him... When i got to see how he looked like, I liked how cool he is and how nice he looks hwen he wears those caps... And gradually, as he built some muscles in his body, i like his body and the way he dresses...

And slowly, as i get to see more interviews and videos or Jay in action, I like the way he is, his characterm and especially his musical talent...

I have always liked music... but tooo bad my parents are not of musical backgrounds... I really hated when i quit my paino class when i was a kid...Now i see my friends playing such nice tunes on the piano and i can just admire, man...

and the guitar too.. I wanna know these two intruments.

When guys can reach notes that high it's kind of singing, I believe it's called Falsetto??

A good example of someone who can sing in falsetto is Darren Hayes the vocalist of Savage Garden (i loved their music *_* why'd they have to go and break up!?!)

Falsetto- a male singing voice in an upper register beyond his normal vocal range or speaking range.

ah they broke up? I just stopped following them but I loved many of their songs. My favorites were Truly Madly Deeply & I knew I loved you.

you know...most male singers need to use Falsetto...it shows off talent as well

believe or not Falsetto is actually really hard to sing naturally...most guys have to 'twist' their throat to reach it and it comes out either too scratchy or so soft you can barely hear it...Jay makes it sound natural...and so does David Tao...they've got skills

i'm working on that too...falsetto is so hard to improve because its not a natural voice — —;;

and Savage Garden was so cool ^ ^...i loved their song 'Crash and Burn', and 'Affirmation'

they split quite some while ago...hmm...wonder why they split

i like jay b/c of his great music talents just like every1 esle. how he write and compose his own song. Not only that but his live performances are amazing. Also all thoses instruments he can play. Jay has got talent like no other there fore im proud to say im a jay fan for life

Ok...this is my opinion why I like Jay.
His tunes and lyrics (most of them are by Vincent Fang and Vivian Hsu) are superb. The songs are very, very nice to listen to even for hundreds of times (I never get bored listening to his songs...He's the first musician and probably the only one that can do this to me).

The songs that he composes really matches to the lyrics given...It's like...the lyrics are emotionally "well-expressed" or emotionally depicted by his tunes and the rhythms. I think many guys want to express their feelings...especially bout love...but can't express it well and I'm sure that they will like Jay because Jay's songs can express what guys feel...especially bout love.
For example....feel broken heart but can't express it? Sing: An Jing, Kai Bu Liao Kou, Ai Qing Xuan Ya, Qing Tian, Long Juan Feng, Fen Lie, etc. Feeling deeply in love? Sing: Ke Ai Nu Ren, Jian Dan Ai, Ta De Jie Mao, Ni Ting De Dao, Qing Tian, An Hao, etc. Feeling regret of what you have done to the girl? Sing: Hui Dao Guo Qi. and many other examples.
I personally try to compose songs and I like Jay cause he is my source of inspiration on how to compose songs.

One more thing, I absolutely salute Jay because he becomes a star not because of his LOOKS, but because of his real TALENT and CREATIVITY in music...That's is what real musician should be...the talent and creativity are more important than looks (although looks is a bit important sometimes). I personally kinda hate F4, cause they are just looks, not real musical talent.

That's why I LOVE JAY so much!!! He is a great, great musician!

Sorry to write so much...this is my opinion. Feel free to give comments to any of my points.

Actually i don't know hu is jay when his first cd released, and when i heard 'shuang jie kun' , it gives me one impression and is :crazy: ( not offence) . Then it was till kai bu liao kou and i released he is good in singing love songs... and listening to an jing and shanghai 1943... i love his voice.! Then i listened back to shuang jie kun, and then i realised he is veri talented in singing R&B and rap... and knoes how to compose songs... relli talented... :D

And recently he dyed hsi hair, .. then my gf is crazy over him.. haha and i was jealous of him y he so charming.. maybe is his music tt attracted many ppl to listen!

And his music is good, challenging for me. I like challenging his raps. Some still elude me, but I will master them someday.

Why do I like jay as a male?

His music is good and unique. He introduces new type of stuff such as style of music or fashion not caring about the public hoping his fans will support him, making him 'diao.' With all this talent, his soft hearted personality only makes him a better idol. He does not cut off any communication with his mom and grandma and loves them and puts them infront of his career and donates to charities and works with kids.

His music sense( his composition really fits well with his voice )
His vocal range, the way he stretches to the high notes on the albums.
His songs.......
I for one don't think that he's good looking at all. Maybe cute with his shyness.
The way he incorporates a bit of China or Chinese(asian) into his albums
Long Quan, Nunchuks, Dong Fung Po, Ban Dao Tie he..........
Ah and we share the same liking for basketball.
And his use of ping-pong sounds in his song!(Although his on court movements are very fakely exagerated) :dry:

I have to say though, when I visited China in summer of 2001 and saw a poster of him, I thought he looked like the goofiest guy. Seemed like he had an afro or something X_X

Errm....I started to like Jay since his Kai bu liao khou song....I was just extremely favour this song....^^ Then it just go on and on and on up to now....=>
Um, I like his songs & his style of music....he has a unique kind of singing, writing music and make MV......it's like he is trying to be different from other people....

i like jay cuz of his talent of course, i think the way he dresses is very cool i even copy an outfit or two of him cuz not to many ppl have this style of taste in my area and most importantly the song "an jing" i found it when i broke up with my g/f and i listen to it for like the whole month non stop, then i slowly started downloading different songs like nunchuck and holy crap is he good with rappin, thiers chinese guys that try to rap but they give off the impression they are trying to be "G-UNIT", not jay tho he just gives off the impression that its Chou Jie Lun

I got hooked on Qing Tian at first. I decided to buy yeh hui mei after that. I found out he made all the songs in that album and i search on the internet, he composed ALL the songs in his albums. I was really impressed. His songs can last really long. That's why i'm here.

Jay is extremely cool and talented.... i think this is probably the major draw for guys....

Looks is pretty subjective.. but in my point of view,.. i think he's pretty handsome...

Been a follower since the An Jing days.... been supporting him since then...
One more thing to note,... how many asian guys/artiste can rap like him and still sound cool... hahaha.... so there you have it... a perfect icon for guys / girls alike to follow...

jay's amazing breadth of music is unlike anything in the states. his music is clearly unmarred by any sort of record label looking for a certain sound, and he shows it with always interesting, experimental music. the fact that he can go from delivering rap lines at steel-cool, bullet-time speed while singing his heart out relentlessly to his own street beats and wonderful melodies surpasses any talent. there are those who can write good rap songs, or those who can write good ballads, but no one can touch jay's mastery of both.

I am attracted to his music and talents. I guess these are the qualities which attracted guys to him. I can listen to his songs over and over again. I am actually more into english songs. But for chinese singers, Jay is the one who really made me listen to him this much.

I don't like singers in the past, i used to like band, i have collected almost all of beyond albums, but then when i listened to jay's works, i keep thinking, "wow, this guy is different, how can a singer compose all his own songs, and have many music style?"
From that point i begin to track down his album and find out that this guy really got something, and i don't care how he looks, i like him because of the songs he compose

Im not much into his look but

1. I like the cool music, of course, he made many nice songs
2. He s really inspiring me.
3. Though sometimes his vocals skills arent the best I still think he s a good singer, and he can sing very high (I m still touched by his song "Ge Qian", the last chorus is sung very well)

there r more reasons but I think this is enough :D

ah yes and 4. I admire him for his courage and strength, he just go for his dream and thats really admirable

my story is kinda weird, i have never been in touch my asian side for all my life, but all of a sudden about 2 months ago, i woke up and thought to myself "i really wanna be asian", so i went and borrowed my friend's jay chou cds and started listening to them 24/7, and here i am, still loving it because firstly the music is really soothing, the lyrics are inspiring, i actually liked the initial d movie while heaps of people don't for some strange reason, i thought he did real good!

i should say i like his style of music. it was somehow unique in a sense that it gives some new feel in every single album although we can see the style is consistent.

Met him few times (not personally, as in meet the fans and those sorts of functions) and not much of feeling. just the feeling ofsatisfaction finally meet someone who has such a talent to rock the music industry.

I like the music he writes/composes. It's not often you see someone as talent as Jay. I also like to sing his song when I goto KTV.

It's weird, I like to listen to his music when I'm happy or when I'm sad, I feel and relate to a lot of the lyrics he writes.

I like Jay because he's the first chinese rapper I ever heard, and I guess I kinda got attached.

He's a big star and all, but he still seems like a regular guy. Also, he's got charisma, and he just seems naturally likeable.

Finally, I can always listen to his songs. His raps when I'm more energetic and RnB when I'm more emotional.
