hehehe... and after watching the S.H.E MV making show, i wanna get all of their Videos for their new album....

is it only S.H.E and Jay that does MV's for all their songs??

Haha, I dunno why but I only like to listen to stuff I understand, which is only English and Mandarin... lol, it gets me frustrated when I can't sing along or understand what they're singing I guess, haha.

Being completely Americanized and going to China over the summer for the first time in 10 years since I left the country 10 years ago, I have mainly discovered the beautiful and talented Jay Chou. lol, but this girl there also introduced me to Elva, Coco Lee (which I knew of already but never really payed attention to), that one guy from f4... dunno who he is lol, umm and oh yeah, David Tao. As you can see, I don't know much at all. :oops:

you know whats scary for me...i can't speak chinese or japanese, but i can sing along with any of Jay and Ayumi's songs... i've listened to them so many times i guess :shock:
but i also have a talent for being able to pronounce words in any of the asian languages hehe :wink:

I don't listen to a lot of Chinese music, can anyone give me any suggestions? My knowledge in Asian Music is mostly Japanese. My favorite singers/groups are Brilliant Green, Do As Infinity, Chemistry, Hamasaki Ayumi, Amuro Namie [the childhood memories remain, and she was the only TRUE queen of jpop], Garnet Crow, Luna Sea, Move, Globe, Chihiro Onitsuka, Every Little Thing, the list goes on forever. But I guess the underlying thing is I love trance/techno music which makes the closest thing in the pop industry to be dance music. And I like easygoing ballads, pop or rock.

What's wrong with GARNET CROW? xD

They have a healthy fan base in Japan but the reason they don't have that many overseas fans is that GIZA isn't that aggressive in marketing its artistes, as say, Avex.

That's unfortunate, since alot of people would not be able to hear about GARNET CROW. :(

Don't get me wrong...I'm a huge Garnet Crow fan. It's just that there are so few fans of Garnet Crow on the boards I visit. There are only about 2-3 english sites of GC I know of.

Ever heard of Core of Soul? Group is made up of the same formula as TBG and DAI. Not really popular either but I love em too.

hah that's true, Garnet Crow doesn't get that much exposure by being part of GIZA as lepencil pointed out. Avex does a huge job promoting its artists. The only other singers I know from GIZA that strikes me as "popular" are Kuraki Mai [of course] and another group that I can't put my finger on... I hate it when I have the name right on the tip of my tongue.

I was surprised to hear that about Garnet Crow though because they don't strike me as the type to have a concert DVD but it's cool nonetheless. The first time I heard them was actually watching Detective Conan, but I hadn't realized it at the time. I bought their first album and I was like whoa... this sounds familiar haha. But ya, I like their easygoing sound. It's just uplifting I don't know.

I haven't heard of Core of Soul, but I should definitely check it out b/c tbg and dai are practically my two favorite groups. I'm still upset about missing the Super Terra 2000 tour haha. That was so long ago... I had a choice to see tbg or MAX, and because I had seen MAX before and thought they were all right, I just went to see them. The MAX concert was still good, but I agonize over losing that opportunity. I watch the concert DVD over and over again, thinking I could have been there haha. But ya, I think Tommy is one of the coolest people ever.

kinda hard for me to say since i would listen to 1-2 songs that are particularly good for one artist and only that 1-2....and there are cds which i listen to...but only like once every 4 months when i'm tired with all the other music i'm currently listening to....and songs from most artists (jay not included of course) gets old incredibly fast for me so i'd listen to like a couple songs for a week straight and then never listen to them again :o ya...i guess i'm weird...
with that said...the singers i listen to the most;

-david tao :D :D (YAY!!)
-wong lee hom (used to listen to him a lot but recently his exaggerated way of singing has gotten to me a bit...)

hmmmm... for asian artists, i mostly listen to males... i don't really have a preference on which of them to listen to cause some of them i just like a couple of songs... but the person i listen to frequently (besides jay) is richie ren (i think i'm the only person in this forum who listens to him :p :D :D )
for american artists, i also don't have a preference, but i'm really into alternative rock, pop rock, punk rock, heavy metal, etc.

Hummm, it's a hard question. I only hear Jay everyday. But basically I heard some Jacky Cheungs, Dave Tao, Gigi Leung, A*Mei, Elva Hsiao, SHE, 5566, F4, He Yao Shan, and Coco Lee. I don't really like Yanzi's songs, though, but I love her voice. Other than that, I listen to Jay's shi mei, Landy Wen and Rui En. I've lately become really obsessed with Wang Hong En.

He has one of the better voices of the Chinese singers I've heard. I heard his duet with Amei and I downloaded his other songs and wow. So I decided to buy his album off the net and I was blown away by his voice. Maybe it's an Aborigine thing, but his voice(likewise with Amei) is beautiful.

He is so underated.

I've realized that there are so many talented singers in the industry that are being eclipsed by "idols" who pass by merely on their looks and a mediocore voice. It's pretty annoying because this gives the misconception that the entire industry is untalented, when in fact there is quite an abundance of talent; much of which remains undiscovered by the vast majority.

Jay's music actually reminds me a lot of Faye's music, because they both incorporate a variety of styles in their music and they're both endlessly creative.

I used to listen to English songs a lot , but recently they dont catch may ears, so now my ipod is full of Chinese ones^^. I listen to Jay, Fahrenheit, TANK,S.H.E, Gennie Chuo, Kenji Wu, Ariel Lin.......hehe...ect ect,....

well my favorite band is green day
im practically obsessed
but i REALLY luv fahrenheit
even though i must say they dont have THAT much talent
like vocals wise
i mean aaron and then jiro
but wu zun and calvin
dont really bring much to the band
except for their popularity

togther though, their music really has a lot of energy =)

growing up in houston "screwston" texas
i listen to a LOT of rap/hiphop/r&b
like i used to get picked on because nobody else listened to rock and what not haha =)

I prefered "Heroine" to "Punk ROck Princess" although they are the same song. "Heroine" is the acoustic version of "Punk Rock Princess".

But of course, "Konstantine" is my all time favourite and it's by SoCo.

lol yea its just green day has a LOT of energy live
cause billie joe has a really strong voice

like american idiot was just an album PACKED with energy
kind of like fahrenheittt XD
xept green day's better because they play instruements
and i mean both bands pour their hearts out and stuff
anyways
