...Nic is back again after a break he took because of everything that was happening, so now he's back in business and working on movies and stuff...i'm not too sure whether he did go to jail or not, but even if he did, he didn't stay there for long. lol...did it seem like i popped out of nowhere? oh well.. :D

Yeah he did go to jail for obstruction of justice. He was in a car accident and told his chaffuer (sp?) to take the blame for him.

and I like Faye Wong, one of my other fav singers besides Jay and Ayumi. I did think it was quite odd when Nic & Faye started dating...it's really weird, imagine Jay going out with Faye :crazy:

nope...he's 23 years old already, he started at 18 or something like that. and Faye is 11 years older than him, which means she's 34 years old right now. yah i found it quite odd that nic and faye would go together too, it didnt' seem very ...well, just not what i would expect, and at first i wasn't much of a Faye fan, but then i listened to some of her songs and found out that she has a great voice and some really great songs, so she's pretty good, and i know that lots of people don't like Nic, but he was one of the few chinese singers i paid attention to at first before i found others and was absorbed into the western music then, so yah.. :wink:

to be honest, i started to focus on the chinese entertainment world because of Nic. i just thought he was so damn hot and the rest is just history.

he did go to jail for about 2 weeks then released to serve 200 hours of community service. i think he's done now and is back. im really happy, i thought he'd never come back. :D. hope we get to see more of him soon.

There is an article in time about Nic and dude, Nic seems really dumb. I don't think he's too bright on the intellectual side. No kind of in-depth thinking or whatever. Here's a nick quote, "People who gossip suck!" or something like that. Anyways. I like him for the rebellious attitude he has and I also think he looks good, but I dunno, his peronality doesn't interest me because he never has anything interesting to say.

me used to like him b4 jay even bought his cd and posters but then later feel tt he got attitude problem and somemore he seems to be making use of Faye Wong (i like her) for publicity so i began to condemn him and even questioned myself why i like him in the 1st place. i guess his "Xie Xie Ni De Ai 1999" sounded too nice to my ears. Hope tt he will learn his lesson and learn to be less rebellious.

the first time i heard about him was when he was on the news 24/7 because of his relationship with faye. it seems everyone's against older-women-younger-men relationships, but not against older-men-younger-women relationships. it's weird. but my parents would watch the news and say "tsk.. what is faye thinking?" it kinda pissed me off. i saw nicholas in the movie.. Tiramisu was a good movie. I liked it. How can he go from making movies like that to ones with LAO FU ZHI? Lao Fu Zhi was one of the dumbest movies I ever saw, next to super mario brothers.

I think probably people get more critical of older-women-younger-men relationships because that traditional thinking has been set in our brains -- that women need protection from men. If they're younger, they're less capable of doing it.

actually tiramisu was after lao fu zhi. i really liked the comics so i thought it was cute. tiramisu was touching. another really neat movie is time and tide with wu bai. pretty old by now but if ppl remember it even played in the u.s. theatres.

Lao Fu Zhe was a funny movie, it's not that great, and didnt' make much sense, but it's just something to pass the time. Tiramisu was a great movie i think, but i got it in vcd, and my windows media player just wouldn't play it on the right language, so i ended up watching the movie in mandarin..which isn't really supposed to be, but that's alright. I guess there's always some good movies and some bad movies along the way for every actor/actress.

I use to be (cnd still am) a big fan of Nic. I really into his style, singing and acting. I mean despite all that has happened with nic - i still really respect him. he has been through a lot and i don't blame him for the way he is. I think he has learnt his lesson - i've seen several interviews since his come back and he seems a lot more 'timid' - almost like when he first started!

oh yeh..hehe almost forgot about '2002' - yeh that was a really cool film! prob one of my favourites too - i mean although it was one of those typical 'Nic Tse' sort of films i really adored him in it because he looked so cute and there were some really funny scenes.

Yuppys.... Didn't know there were still some Nicholas Tse fans out there since there have been many Jay fans. :)

Personally, I feel that some of Nic Tse songs are great, for example, Xiang Shui, Jiu Shang kou, Yu Hu Die. Nicholas knows how to play the guitar so I think he is more into song-composing nowadays.

Glad to hear about him being back in the entertainment circles after he took a very long break because of that car crashing accident incident.

Actually Nicholas Tse acts quite well too with his cool style fitting many roles in movies. Such include one of his earlier movies Young and Dangerous(Shao Nian Gu Huo Zai) where he fitted in his defiant role and gangster role pretty well.

i just watched "master q" yesterday... that movie is kind of funny, with the cartoon characters bouncing around everywhere...

personally i tink he is a little cocky at times. Sorry to offend any of his fans here. However, hv to say tt he does hv the looks appeal. He has not really impress me w his singing n by saying tt, i much prefer his acting. Some of his shows are really cool. Both 2002 and 'my schoolmate is a babarian' are really cool shows. Always feel like watching them again.

I tink Nic also has too many adverse publicity bout him. He is still a relatively young man n to hv so many adversity can be pressurising for him.

On the whole, personally, i think Stephen Fung has more appeal looks wise. He looks more smiley.

i'm really glad nic's back too. i missed him! his music isn't that bad either, but he's changed his style a lot. i liked his "viva" album alot, but the last one he released the songs were kinda slow and similar. but, i think he's a really great actor and wished he'd concentrate more on that. i think "young and dangerous: the prequel" was his first movie and he filmed it when he was 17 (?), but he did a really good job in that. "2002" is also a really fun movie and stephen fung and him always have really great interaction. i think he's filming a new movie now w/ zhang zi yi (the girl from "crouching tiger, hidden dragon").

i dont relaly know what i think about nicholas tse...he gives me the impression that he wants to give other people the impression of a bad boy, goes against the norm, individual kind of guy who succeeds partly b/c he has connections. well thats pretty harsh but i think some truth rings to it. anywya, yea he does have some pretty good songs. i remmber listening to him when i was in high school and he had some pretty nice songs (e.g. fei zou bu ke, the songs in the ganster movie - good old days).

He is recently filming a moovie called jade goddess or so that is what it translates into. he looks so much better now than he did before his arrest. he is also scheduled to be in a film with jackie chan- playing his son. i like stephen's character in 2002 more then Nick's.. my favorite scene is when he was putting that picture of him in front of that girl in a coma so that his face would be the first thing that she see's when she wakes up.. and he took the picture himself!! Nic is pretty cool to watch in his movies. He has got the cool personality. However, can't say much about his songs as i think he is much better as an actor.

Many people think he is rebellious but he is just young and wants to have fun. Think the reporters in HK can't be trusted at times with their comments. Maybe Nic does had alot of negative publicity after being with Faye Wong, due to their age difference, but they should be left alone to sort their problems.

He is a really fun loving and happy go lucky character as i have seen him on Hello Jacky for a few times and he was really funny. Although his mandarin is not perfect, he was still trying to crack jokes all the time and is not afraid of being embarassed. Its not easy for someone young to enter the HK entertainment industry and still build a strong reputation for himself.

Think Daniel Chan is a really hard worker and he tries so hard as he is not as appealing and talented as some other artist. That is why his mum is always worried about him being in the showbiz line.

Yeh apparently she is dating Jordan. Her and Nic broke up awhile ago, since Nic broke it off and is now back with Faye. Rumour is that he only used Cecilia to get Faye back when they broke up. Even so, it was also rumoured that it was an agreement between the two to make it a publicity act, in order to catch Faye's attention and making her jealous. :wacko: Yes rumours..so which one is true? I'm doubting any are.

I couldn't care less what people say about Nic because I was a fan and still am. Sure he can be cocky, well not too sure about now, but he's hot and he knows it. Can't blame the guy for being so sexilicious~ And reason why I like him, other than the fact that he's a god given gift on earth? He's a celebrity who rebelled the "picture perfect" image of a star. He didn't try to act all nice and polite, he spat it straight out and he got named a "rebel". Moving away from his image, he's a great musician! Sure he can be off-beat and a bit off-tune when he's singing, but he sure knows how to play the guitar like a pro. How do I know? because i saw him play on his guitars live when i went to his concert.

Next of all, he's issues about going to jail/gaol for the car accident. I'm pretty much well aware that he's lost quite a fair amount of fans because of what had happened. The whole drama of getting his driver to take the blame and then bribing him with money. Pfft... for all we know, it could have happened slightly different? Rumours are rumours and even so, doesn't mean that he's a bastard 100% As all of you might know, he took a break from his career and now, he's slowly coming back. I saw his new image, and trust me...I was pretty stunned. He gained weight and didn't portray the "Bad boy" image anymore, you can say he was less attractive. But from what I heard, reason why he is/was all scruffed up is because he doesn't want people to like him for his looks, he wants his fans and other people who have heard of him, to liek his music, That's why he's concentrating on his music more than his popularity now.

Wow...had a lot to say and wanted to clear a few things up. I'm hoping to see him back in showbiz and hope that he'll continue to fight on to kick some ass. :wink2:

I don't think that Nic is so much a revel as someone who does what he wants and doesn't care too much about other people's opinions of him. He's said that he doesn't like all the media attention, and with all the harping, a person's patience can wear thin.

Also, the music he's done in the last few years is more of what he likes. He's listed Lenny Kravitz as one of his favorite musicians, and that's pretty far from the pop sound he started out with. It shows in his music that he's happier with this sound.

His acting is a bit all over the place too. But it just shows his versatility. Tiramisu was a good movie; more of an art-house pic. Time and Tide was good too since he had the action and the seriousness to it too. Gen X and 2002 were more like those fun buddy-action-comedy flicks. But he's also made mistakes with Metada Fumaca. The most un-Nic character was Flik...he did the Cantonese voice-over for the Disney/Pixar movie A bug's Life. It's such a departure from the regular roles he plays, that it's interesting to hear how exicted and animated he sounded. He did a pretty good job.

Ultimately, I think he's doing what he thinks he's good at and what makes him happy.

I think Nic is a better actor than sinigng or anything else. He was also great in Gen X cops because he know martial arts! I had no idea! That's when I really started liking him. I saw a lot of his movies and he is really good in a lot of the roles. I also read before that he was unhappy that he had to produce albums so quick. He said some of the songs he didn't even want to sing. I guess he's got more leeway now since he's maintained his star status and is a keeper in the music industry.

nic is going to have a new c.d. soon!!! i'm totally going to support him and get it when it comes out. hopefully it would be better than M.E. i was a little disappointed with that one. apparently for the cover art, hes going to have 2 images, one where he's really tan (like in viva) and muddy and another where he's clean and slick. i guess they want to reflect ppls views on him and how hes changing. but who cares, dirty boys are shexy hahaha. now if only i had a picture. i saw it in a newspaper the other day...

Yeh I had to sit there for 3 hours too waiting for him to come on but it was well worth it. he was on top form! :) mmm I didn't really understand his reasons for smashing up his beloved guitar either but hey...nvm...although saying that, i did notice that you couldn't hear the guitar at all during his solo in 'hidden dragon: do not enter'...

I watched teh SARS concert, and he didn't rip of his shirt. Although if he did, then it wasn't on camera. It took FOREVER for his performance to start though. There were sound problems i think and when he finally started (after being ontage in silence for at least 5 min., his guitar was still barely audible. He smashed it up afterwards, and then for his second song, the guitar wasn't sounding that great either. Kinda sucks to be him at the moment. But yeah...I'd be frustrated too if my instruments weren't working.

He did look good though.:D

Oh...and Yesasia has posted that his new cd is coming out soon...within the next few weeks I think.

Most Wanted is a really good album but I wouldn't say it was my favourite...I think the good thing about Most Wanted is that it was compiled from his first 3/4 albums - so it's good for those people who aren't quite hard core fans but like his music and want an album containing his 'hit songs'.

I love Nic! I'm a really big Nic fan too! I had heard about him because I had saw Gen Y Cops with Edison and I fell in love with Edison then but I had actually saw it on the Sci-Fi channel and it was called Metal Mayhem, I didn't know who Edison was, then when I told my friend about that movie, he told me that it was called Gen Y Cops and he told me that Gen X was better, so I bought it, lol, without even seeing it, and I had heard about Nic but didn't know who he was, and what do you know, he played in Gen X and I fell in love with him, he was so HOTT, and I love his beautiful hair, so then I went on a Nic craze and ordered his Viva Live cd, and I thought that it was the DVD but it wasn't! Then I got his Most Wanted, I really like that album, my fave song on there is #15, and I got the DVD for his Viva concert and I also have his butterfly album, I'm waiting for his new album "Reborn" that comes out on 06/21/03, I hope it's good! I think that he has a very manly voice that's very nice, he kinda sounds like Andy Lau, and his facial structure is also very manly, although his hair is feminine! I also love the fact that he knows how to play a guitar!
Nic was the first Chinese artist that I really got into! Then it went to Edison, then the one and only Jay! I've only seen two of his movies, Gen X and Time and Tide! I heard a couple songs from his latest album REBORN, but I don't think they are that great. I've seen him perform these songs on TV and he really is trying very hard to win his fans and popularity back. But.......I don't think it's working.......his image is shattered IMO ever since that jail, car crashing and negative comments reported about him.

heres my little review of reborn
listened through it the first time, was disappointed up to the middle, then the songs started to get better. then on a couple more listens i liked it more.

track 1 - second life/reborn - melodies typical nic style...bit rock-ish but nothing amazing. the lyrics are about experiencing life ...seeing whats out there, discovering things like you've just been born and being fearless. for the video, besides some flashes of him in fetal position and a heart thumping, is all computer graphics- of a butterfly soaring through coast-ey scenery. not too exciting.

track 2 - puberty?growthspurt? - bad song... 'recently i gained weight, i'm taller than the eiffel tower' ...wthell, i guess its a metaphor, 'recently my eyes have widened, everything i see is beautiful' ...thats a little better. but the lyrics are really weird and the melody is...eh. my least favorite song

track 3- running with love - pretty melody. good instrumentals. lyrics are sad. main slow song of the album

track 4- orphan admist a bitter sea - good melody and title pretty much tells what the lyrics are about. i actually like this song more than track 3.

track 5- happy plans - this song starts off very very nice but then the melody and beat makes a sharp turn ...weird...didn't like how they changed it. so this song is so-so

track 6- can't even have one less- guitars start off nice ...but this is a track i skip over most of the time...if i got it right, its about the more the better...chicks? or friends? eh...theres a small bridge thats blue-sy which was interesting...but yeah...skip to...

track 7- secret leaker- hehehe...the melody isn't super but i love this song. its about the papparazzi. 'listening closely, following closely, fighting over the news, talk about a sock for two days, if the guys famous, talk about it a couple more, its only catering to the crowd, who loves secrets, tomorrow i'll talk about somebody else" hehe just a little of waht he says. i thought it was really funny.

track 8- moonlight cup - referring to a clam?oyster?...mussel? holding a mysterious and beautiful pearl. this is my favoritest song! its so pretty!...even though i didn't understand the lyrics. again...very pretty instrumentals. :love:

track 9- mailing slumber- melody's pretty mellow, hey..its about restlessness and trying to sleep. this songs ok, he tries to stretch his voice with some high notes. worked nice with the feel of the song

track 10 - paperplane - this song is okay...its about trying to 'fly' go places...it goes kinda slow, can listen to it, but its pretty skippable

track 11- mandarin version of running with love
track 12- "chorus version" of reborn
ARGH, i hate it when they do that :-x so cheap. plus, i dont particularly like the ppl who made up the 'chorus' - joey yung, shes ok, and 3T - those 3 new girls that EEG has manufactured and promoting


hmm..i guess that wasn't a little review. overall i think this is...B+/B- but definitely better than his last CD, ME. if you're supportive of nic, it doesn't hurt to get Reborn. it'll grow on you as you listen to it. if you're broke or don't really care. it also wouldn't hurt to dl tracks 3 and 8 which i'm reccomending. dl 7 just to see how he mocks the horrible media.

Well anyway to answer your question.Nic had some car accident and told one of the police officers to tell a lie or something like that.But later the police found out something about the car accident Nic had and then it just ruined his life for a while.He left the entertainmnet place for a while and then came back with a new album.

Never heard any of the tracks from his new album 'Reborn'.So don't have any comments about his new album.

Heard that from the show 'Jade Starbix' and newspapers saying that Nic and Faye are back together again.They even had a picture of them holding hands.Not sure if they are really together though.

I do think that he's very attractive, but that's not the reason I like him, to me, it doesn't matter how HOT a guy is, if he has no talent, then he's off my list, well yea, I might like him, but I'm not going to go buy his music or buy his movies, unless there are other good actors in his movies, then maybe I'll buy it! For example, I think Edison Chen is oh so gorgeous, but he is NOT talented, my opinion! I like Nic because he has got talent, he can sing and act! He's really something! Gosh ... i think i am a bit late when it comes to this thread (i am new to this thread!)... i am a fan of both Jay AND Nic which makes me sort of in the minority as not many ppl i kno likes him ... they all think that becasue he has been in jail and what with all those bad publicity about him. but i think he is great. he is a good singer and a good guitarist.

i think he is very agile ... *giggles* but if you watch some of his concerts and things like his MV for his earlier songs ... he is VERY flexible ... but i really cant see Nic dancing tho coz i think he doesnt suit dancing ... he looks like the type who just stands and sings but hey ... i am more than happy for him to surprise me!!! I like his voice too. It sounds very soothing. However, I feel that he has some sort of lispy thing when he speaks. Like a "sss" sound or something. I don't mind it, it's very cute! Yes, I would really like it if he would dance more too. I guess with his songs it just doesn't mix well. I guess its what makes him more special than a lot of other artists who do dance. hey just found this thread.... i love nic so much liked him since he started out when he was 16, i was like 13/14. the first song i listed was bad attitude (壞習慣)... he was so cuate in the mtv.... my favorite album would be Zero distance (零距離), most of the song was composed by him in this cd. i think his one of the best singer/songwriter out there. Have anyone seen his new movie? the new police story (新警察故事). i havent seen it yet

He's much more of an actor than a singer these days. I mean, he does definitely have his fair share of both, but I'd say he's more interested in acting in singing, with the amount of work he has carved out for him in the movie industry.

I went to his concert in Genting las oct, realize he had changed. More interactive, more smiles despite his coolness (Still cool of cos!!). He tends to know how to handle e media n fans better now. Heyy. I'm a huge Nic fan, although in 2003, I missed his Reborn concert in Atlantic City, which is so unbelieveably close to me that I still hate myself for not going. I haven't seen Nic lately in the news press, but I guess he's busy filming The Promise (!??) does anyone know when that will be coming out? hi i'm nic tse new fans too...i knew for quite a long time but never really know him..as in i just saw some of his movies. i didnt even know he's actually a singer until a i met my roommate who's like nic tse's big fan. she has all of his cds and movies from the oldest until the latest one. i kinda like his old ones though. but my fave is his [invisible] cd. oh my god it's just so good..i listen to it everyday until i get pretty sick...haha...but i still listen though.

oh he;s coming out with a new movie rite? it's called 'the promise'. i think it's the biggest movie project in china or smt cos it's french production ..if i'm not mistaken.

oh and i read this article abt him in newspaper sometimes ago that said he's going to need someone to support him or use a stick to walk by the time he's 37. this is caused he's suffered fr some illness *cant remember the name*..i think it's something like over-fatigue. it's due to all of his gongfu movies. he also said that his left side of his body often go numb and he cant stand for too long or his back will get painful. and right now he cant move his right forefinger because he hold an iron fan for too long during the filming of his new movie 'the promise'. but he said he wont regret it bcos he's doing something that he likes. it's a sacrifice that he must take...

one of my friends sent me a fast, upbeat song of nic via IM and i liked it, so i decided to listen to his other songs. when i listened to his slower songs, i thought that he couldn't sing. but now, i like his voice. i guess his voice grew on me. i like the fact that he seems to do what he wants to do and not care what other ppl will think of him. i'm sorry if i'm wrong, but he doesn't seem to suck up/kiss up to jay chou or other popular artists and i like that about him. he seems to want to do his own thing and in his own way. =)

Hi!!! In my opinion Nic is one of the greatest asian singers! I've to admit that he's a little insolent, but he really has VOICE! I love most of his songs, specially Huang's, Invisible's and Released's songs, I simply love them. He also is sooo sexy! I knew him by " Time and Tide" , Wu bai's movie... and I fell in love with him hahaha. Thanks to this movie and him now I know most of the asian music in general and I also had interested in Chinese language ^^. Go Nic!

So! REVIVING this thread!

Nicholas Tse is starring in a new movie with Donnie Yen and Shawn Yue called Dragon Tiger Gate (http://www.dragontigergatemovie.com)! Nic had to undergo some REALLY intense training in order to gear up for this role. Apparently his martial arts is on the level of a professional stuntman's at this point. Which is pretty cool.

Anyway, I'm REALLY looking forward to this new movie. It's been a while since Nic's shown that badass side of him that he's so well known for. It suits him so much better than all those traditional old school roles he was playing around with for the past few years.


He's sooooooooooo hot in this movie. Seriously. Totally 100% droolworthy *_*.

I watched his movie a couple of days ago. To tell you the truth..I thought it was going to be some corny chinese kungfu movie because it was only in the theaters in Taiwan for a week. Managed to catch it while I am here in China. It turned out to be pretty good. Both my friend and I really liked it. So I recommend you watch it!

Yeah, I think they did. Well, I saw a news clip of the reporters asking him at the HK airport. He said, he is married and even showed the reporters his ring, but he refused to comment on anything else (Eg. Where, how and why).

Cecilia Cheung hasn't said anything about it yet but the host at the entertainment show I watched, they said Cecilia's management company said they feel that Cecilia is old enough to do whatever she wants and that they are happy for her.

The rumours is they got married at in the Philippines and Eason was one the close friends who witnessed it. Some also said it's because Cecilia is three months pregnant. But again, these are all just rumours.

I agree. Both Nic and Ceci are 27 years old, and I don't think they are that young to get married. And moreover, I think they've known each other since they were in their late teens? so in a sense, I feel that they really understand each other really well, and they probably went through a lot together. I was smiling to myself as I read this too ... coz I, too, felt the same way. Not really becoz' he got married but I kinda felt he got married to the wrong type of gal. And true enough ... my fears were confirmed with the recent Edison Chen scandal.

I really wonder if they'll split up after this. I mean ... how would he feel having his wife, mother to his child doing this to him. Rumours had it that it happened just before they got married, and that she was two-timing.
