yeah I read that she doesn't really play the guitar, and also she gets credits for writing her own songs, when really she has the help of numerous professionals and probably puts in only 5% of the effort just to gain recognition.

I admit, some of her songs are pretty catchy though, like Complicated or With You. Nothing I'd bother to buy or even download, but good enough to bop/sing along to when I hear it on the radio :D

I really agree with what xiaoli said. I personally don't think that Avril is that bad, her music is quite catchy and sometimes her lyrics do reflect a bit of what the current society is like. However, no matter how good your music is, the most important thing is to respect your fans and get rid of that bad attitude, which carries a lot of arrogance-who does she think she is? At the end of the day, without her fans, she wouldn't be where she is..

I don't really like Avril, but I really enjoy the music she makes. Some of them are too rock, in my opinion and it's like she's yelling at me while I'm driving when I listen to it in the car. well, i like avril! especially her songs from the 2nd album! i love my happy ending and nobody's home I should tell you guys that her vocal skills have improved a lot. i went to a mini-concert she was doing around USA & Canada (the Avril Live & by Surprise) and she sang very nice ^^. i was even surprised when i listened to her singing because i knew that she used to sing terribly on stage :S And she was actually playing the guitar. Maybe she's not THAT good, but at least she knows something.

Why??????? Isn't "oriental" reporters just like any reporters? And i don't think language is a factor because even if you're asian, you can speak english. So what does she have to fear? That doesn't leave a good impression about her.

And she is not a shy girl. Shy girls do not have attitude problems and deal with things more mature than she does. :rolleyes:

I think after getting flame by some critics for being a poser in the "punk" music genre this second album actually incorporates more of that style than compared to her previous album, which was more poppish/alternative. I still like her first album better though. The new one is ok and some songs are good to listen to, but the first album had more songs that I could relate too I guess.

i went to avril's concert recently and to be honest, i was quite disappointed. her fans are really dedicated fans, they are cheering all the time, etc and she doesn't need to put any effort into getting her fans pumped. she stands pretty still while singing, but can be quite "rock" at times and jump around the stage....
I admit her songs are quite good (at least, I quite like them) - but her live performance just doesn't do it for me. She' doesn't know how to get her fans pumped and some of her higher notes, she can't reach in live.

I heard she's not humble at all & worst of all.She doesn't truly care about her fans from her heart.I'll sit through her songs,but not buy them.
