Positively, More people singing = more money for the economy = more people with better voices gradually = more talents = more scouts hanging around KTVs = more contracts = more publicity for singers in Singapore = less boring Singaporean entertainment.

OK you can ignore me, i just woke up :P

Yeah ever since all these KTV places starting popping up all over the island, singing KTV is the other thing I do besides watching movies, shopping and eating when I go out with friends.. but it's still expensive and of course not everyone likes to sing.. I find that most of the KTV joints offer only really good chinese songs so people who don't know chinese songs won't find it fun...

I get a real kick out of choosing really old songs and watching their MTVs while trying to sing.. . I find the bad hairstyles and makeup more entertaining than the joy of singing themselves...

LMAO!! :lolabove: you seriously crack me up dazzlette!!

But what you pointed out is really real... notice how english songs in general don't usually have the original MV, and they have some cheapo, "bird park" "garden" or some equivalent... I remember a song with the MRT just going back and forth...

I'd say if you enjoy singing... karaoke is not that ex... you pay say 15 @ kbox (after the taxes etc that is), for 2-7 slot... thats about 3 bucks per hour... it's not really that ex... almost as good as or sometimes cheaper than playing pool/movies...

i agree with dazzlette... haha.. sometimes i do go to ktv and choose some reallllllyyyy old songs or some cheesy hokkien songs just for the fun of it.. especially if its like 2 people and we got tired of singing 5 hours straight.. haha...

but i do think that ktv is a good way of keeping kids off the streets... less kids hanging around till wee hours in the morning (most karaoke joints open till 2/3am in the morning) less trouble... more things to keep them occupied for a longer period of time.. less trouble.. so i'd say its a great thing to have...

other than the fact that i love to sing.. lmao...

i like to sing! but sometimes i think k box is a bit too ex. But it is really fun. Really sing until u sore throat

I'm glad I'm not the only one who chooses the realllly old songs...

The english ones are always bad.. it's always some ang-moh lady dressed either in an old-fashioned curtain-like dress or in some bikini, wearing sunglasses with her hair blowing in the wind... And it doesn't matter what kind of song is playing.. it can be linkin park with a bikini lady...

I think once my friend chose BSB's 'As long as you love me' and that totally cracked us up... :D and to think we all thought BSB was absolutely the coolest thing around about 6 years ago...

Oh oh one of the funniest songs I sung was Grasshopper's 'Ai Bu Pa'!!
...pi li pa la ai bu pa... AI BU PA.....

surely you are not the only one in "love" with the oldies dazzlette... you should meet my friends... besides, I actually think it's fun to sing those oldies... esp those cheezy hokkien ones like "ai pia jia eh ya" or something... gets you high

dazzlette
06-09-2004, 04:06 PM
yeah yeah... those Hokkien ones are the best!! Though I can barely sing those.. I love to watch my friends sing... recently with Machi around... my friends can do a really kicking rendition of a Hokkien rap... and there's this Ah Liang song too ... :hmm: I can't think of the title now.. that one is really funny too... not just the song.. but Ah Liang himself in the vid is damn funny....

I know I know!!! that ah liang song!! 子曰 (zi yue) righty?!?! that one is a mouthful... but very challenging and fun!!! :wink2: I think that's a must try in the KTV... it's so fun getting your tongue twisted...

Wow hear all the ktv lovers speak!
I love the oldies too! And Wu Yan De Jie Ju is one of my fav duet!
My uni friends enjoy singing Liang Wen Fu's songs very much...brings back memories of school/campus life.

I remember when I first started visiting KTVs, I patronized Sing Together (opp General Hospital), Spaceship (opp Maxwell Mkt) and later Memories (Cha Xuan) at Bt Pasoh.
I wonder if youngsters still frequent these "shophouse" KTVs?

KBox, KSter and PartyWorld's sprouting up in various neighbourhoods. THere are often more than 1 such joints in 1 neighbourhood. It must be a really lucruative business huh!

To answer friends_pt's qn, I find that it's perfectly fine for young pple to visit KTVs. Provided they do not neglect their studies :wink2:

My karaoke kakis and I love that song too! We have to do it at least once at the end of each session. Great way to end happily. :D

Yup yup.. it's 子曰!!! :) That song is damn fun to sing... though I can never quite make it during the rap part.. I can do the singing part though... the girl's name is Zeng Bao Yi right?? my gosh I always get very high after singing that song.... :D

I kinda like to sing SHE's Superstar too.. it's fun to just shout and scream into the mic.... I have this friend who always insists on being Ella when her voice is quite high.. and she always pushes us to sing even higher...

mushy.. I've never gone to these 'shophouse' KTVs before... I was always afraid that some of these places would be too sleezy... I like K-box the best so far.. cos the song selection's good and the atmosphere is friendlier... how much do these 'shophouse' KTVs cost?

Has anyone hear ever gone singing alone before? I always wanted to.. and belt out those heart-wrenching love songs to myself.... :sing:

sleezy? naw...not those few i've mentioned (i.e during happy hours. I cant say for the non-happy hours
iirc, the cost comes to abt 12-15 per pax if you go in a company of 5-6.
That was abt a year ago though

I agree that the atmosphere is "hippier" and friendlier at the new K-outlets.
Mainly because it appeals to largely students and young adults.

I've always wanted to go singing alone too so that I can sing all the songs that i'm not so familiar with and some songs which are deemed a little too "alternative" to the majority (think: some of those la la la songs by faye for e.g.) lol...

But it's kinda costly. There are some outlet which charge by per pax...or are there not? :?

hisashi
06-10-2004, 09:11 AM
Yeah!! I also wanted to sing all alone by myself!! until my throat gone coarse!! but then, the money...too ex isnt it???

Hmm.. Mushy: how abt the one which we went early this year? do they charge per pax?? but then again, singing alone is no fun..especially when i like to sing those difficult ones... in a funny and wacky way which will crack my frens up!! being a clown in the KTV box!! :bleh:

Go on Friday is the best!! or even take leave just to sing my heart out!!! Hehe..that will be for me..i have lots of leave...

haha.. i have been kbox once. another ktv center once too.[its $9.99 from 1pm-7pm on weekends, kinda cheap! and its not dat 'dirty' -yougetwhatimean-]
and i was practically screamin whenever i sang. hahaa..
anyway, kbox is unreasonable when they charged 2 bowls of tidbits juz for $10. but nvM bout dat, cause kbox compared to kster would still be cheaper ritee..

hisashi - hahaha. yep yep. sing alone its kinda lonely and awkward yah. hahaa.

06-10-2004, 02:42 PM
oh... don't even mention the tidbits from Kbox... it's cut throat... I mean... for goodness sake, who wants to pay 5bucks for some mixed nuts  DAYLIGHT ROBBERY! the thing is, you have to have 1 "bowl" per 2 person... so if you have 3 people, you have to pay for 2 bowls :-x DAYLIGHT ROBBERY... moral of story, to maximise the "tidbit charge" go in pairs

ooo. i luv karaoke ever since i visited kbox for the first time. totally addicted to karaoke. my fren and i would haf a super fun time singing jay songs coz shes a jay fan too.

me and my frens will always try to exceed the singing time by refusing to leave the room. haha. there one time we are only suppose to sing till 11am but we leave only at 5pm, since they nv chase us out, and i tink they nv notice tt we are still in the room. yeah, kbox tidbit charge is a bit ridiculous. but the last time i visited kbox, there's free flow of tidbit so its not so bad now.

Oh gosh, i forgot where we went early this year  ...was it kster?? :shy:

Go on Friday is the best!! or even take leave just to sing my heart out!!! Hehe..that will be for me..i have lots of leave...
GAH! you lucky gal! I wish I have plenty of leaves to clear but nope.
I'd be out of job for a month though hehe. Perhaps I should drop by the KTV one of those days... :shifty:

Frankly I'm rather confused abt the feedback on KBox. One grp of friends told me it's very expensive, probably because of the charges for the tidbits you guys have mentioned, or because they went during the non-happy hours?
Some say it's really affordable, probably because they went during working hours on weekdays?? :?

lattae
06-11-2004, 05:11 AM
hmmm... think of it this way mushy, Kbox go by PAX, so the less people the more worth it... say you book a room in another lounge, and you don't have enough people with you, then tada! You have to cover the cost and it gets hefty... Kbox is a place you can walk into in pairs and not have to pay a different "rate"... Kbox is definitely NOT worth it if you are going in a big group! the same "air/mic time" has to be split among so many people, and you pay by PAX and it hence it gets expensive in that manner... (moral of story, in big groups go to other Karaokes... the cha ren chain is good for that)

and most other KTV lounges have a 3hr slot... wheres Kbox lets you sing the entire "off peak" (2-7) or "peak" (7-closing) which means that if you maximise that, you get you moneys worth, and if you "calculate" in that manner, Kbox is cheaper...

as for the tidbits at Kbox... they are just daylight robbery like I mentioned... but you can refill, so ask for as many refills as you can... as I said, if you want to maximise the "tidbit charges" by going in pairs... all karaoke has tidbit charges, but some serve better food, eg Sunlight @cuppage will give you crackers, nonya kueh, and fruits... Kbox just happens to charge for tidbits and serve lousy mixed nuts...

mUShy
06-11-2004, 08:19 AM
ahhh thanks for the tip pin!
sunlight city serves nonya kueh?! wow...
and gee i didnt know we are allowed to ask for refills for the nuts at kbox!!!
do they refill drinks as well?

06-11-2004, 09:25 AM
Thanks!! :excited: then.. I can go with my friend!!! and we can sing till daylight!! yay!!! and she's finishing her exams soon.. yeah... going to K-box one of these days too.. :)

hmm, do u have friends who doesn't sing but still go to KTVs to listen you sing? :? I have a friend who's like that..thought of asking him to join me..

dazzlette

Oh regarding the tidbits at K-box.. my friends thinks it's part of the a conspiracy to purposely make them compulsory... it's so that they can kill your throat and make you sing less.. ... plus if you order their ice lemon tea tea which is damn sweet.. you will have a sore throat in no time.. moral of the story?? eat the tidbits and drink most of your drink before you leave...

I don't think it's that ex to sing at K-box alone.. after all the charge is per person... I just wonder if it'll be a little lonely... well I suppose it's not that bad if I'm singing those sad soppy love ballads..

I haven't had friends who just watched and not sing.. even if they aren't KTV fanatics... they at least try singing 1 or 2 songs... anyhow if you wanna do that.. K-box is totally the wrong place to go...

well one of the good things about K-box is that they don't shut down the machine even if you exceeded the time... in other places I've had the machine abruptly cut me off... :rasp:

laruku
06-11-2004, 04:11 PM
i do have friends who don't sing when we go KTVs.. but for large groups we usually patronise sunlight at cuppage centre like lattae suggested... its a little less funky... yeah.. sunlight give kwehs... i think kbox has the WORST tidbits... even cha ren gives better variety of crackers...

it's much more advisable to go to kbox on weekdays 2-7pm... its really very much more worth it... you can even log on to their website... www.kbox.com.sg to check out new promos.. sometimes they have waiver of cover charges etc.. (but you wil have to buy 1drink each and of course the damnable tidbits...) but its still a bit cheaper than usual... =)

aiyah... haven't you heard of water bottle? :bleh: Hey, if you really wanna sing and not kill your throat, you must bring your own water... BE PREPARED!!! (good o' scouts motto)

honestly, if you are serious about singing 5 hours straight, the drinks they provide you will not be enough! so bring your own, pack in a bag or something (yah, it's "illegal" but just dont do it in front of the staff... not like they are in your room for most part of the time anway) and it can help wash down the nuts that "tickles" your throat, so you won't sound hoarse...

Exploit them, don't be exploited... you've paid, you sing...

btw, like laruku, I really recommend cha ren chains for large groups (eg sunlight, party world etc)... their songs tho' may not be as updated as Kbox (esp for say like jay/SHE), BUT the collection is way more decent than Kster...

karaoke is the "in" thing now, specially now we have the singapore idol going on.
I wonder if anyone would go to these places to practice even though the mv can be quite....

I think karaoke like sunlight, the songs is quite updated, (I have only been to sunlight and K box), but the sad thing is, they onli have 2 mic, cannot sing S.H.E songs together!

dazzlette
06-12-2004, 05:47 AM
lattae I always bring my own water bottle... of cos I go prepared.. typical kiasu Singaporean me will always not so easily be taken advantage of!! Anyway I meant to say that we should only eat and drink the stuff at the end of our session... So that we don't lose out.. (I mean we already paid for those miserly tidbits.. we HAVE to eat them  )

xian186.. 2 mics aren't that bad.. we can always just pass them around..

so people anymore fun KTV experiences to share? :wink2:

lattae
06-12-2004, 05:51 AM
you know, sometimes I feel so "kiasu" that I feel like bringing a ziplock bag to pack the tidbits home! (like get lots of refill, then stash some into the bag) I just want to get my money worth, who pays 5 bucks for such cheapo snacks?!?!

it's so singaporean I know... :shy:

dazzlette
06-12-2004, 06:08 AM
hahahah.. lattae.. that's a great idea!! Now I know what to do on my next KTV session :brows:

You mean they have free refills? I didn't know that!!

lattae
06-12-2004, 06:27 AM
yah, refills are free @kbox... you mean you didn't know :glug:

no wonder we were talking about finishing the bowl of tidbits before... cos usually for my friends and I... we'll be quite sick of it after the 3 bowl or so... (especially when you run out of water thanks the peanuts tickle your throat so bad you need to wash it down...)

jay_angel
06-12-2004, 06:36 AM
I was planning to go though but my friend cancelled out on me......some of them make it sound so scary......lousy mixed nuts? oh good......is there any Jay's songs? i wanna sing Cyndi also.....anyone can accompany me?i mean, go with me to kbox, not "that type"=)

dazzlette
06-12-2004, 06:40 AM
:ranting: grrr... those buggers at K-box never offer me refills!! I always thought that it was whatever they offered you.. talk about not knowing your own rights!!

jay_angel.. it's not really that it's lousy.. it's just that it's not worth the money.. they earn a lot out of you... K-box offers all Jay's latest songs.. so you can sing them to your heart's content! :sing: I dunno about Cyndi Wang's songs though...

lattae
06-12-2004, 06:41 AM
Kbox probably has the best Jay collection... (except for wu ding, which is still that lousy jacky wu 'i-am-constipated' version) and it's updated, you can find YHM/hidden track songs...

dazzlette
06-12-2004, 06:49 AM
I don't think there's a Jay and Landy version anyway right?

I want to puke everytime I see Jacky Wu with Landy... What's the cheng yu for it? ...ahh oh yes... Xian Hua Cha Zai Niu Fen Shang!! (Fresh flower placed on cow dung!!)

06-12-2004, 10:02 AM
lol jacky wu's and jay's voice are a million miles apart... i think even my friend sings nicer than jacky wu... :D

i want to go alone too! or maybe go in smaller groups... because every time for big groups, we would choose those loud songs that gets everyone high, and no one is willing to sing any slow, love ballets with me... :( and yep, u have to bring ur own water bottle if u don't want to get sore throat... hehe~

laruku
06-13-2004, 01:56 AM
oh no.. i have to admit i do feel like taking those tidbits home too... and usually i will ask for refills even before i completely finish my tidbits.. coz there are always some nuts that i a bsolutely hate... like green peas for e.g.

dazzlette... you have to ASK for the refills... they won't be so nice and come into your room to auto refill for you... have to call service and tell them to refill... when they first started (kbox) they will sorta remember to tell the patrons that its refillable... otherwise we learn it through other people...

06-13-2004, 03:30 PM
mmm.. i tink its good to bring a jacket along too.. coz the room gets real cold after sometime.. me and my frens will be shivering in the freezing room.. maybe its the k-box scam to chase us out of the room by lowering the air-con temp..

lattae
06-13-2004, 03:42 PM
oh, and there is one thing... I personally feel that with kbox and it's equivalents, the whole KTV industry is "sanitised" from the dodgy image...

Which is why I can't really comprehend when some people at my church still holds firm to the arguement that Christians cannot go KTV... honestly I don't see the relation... What do you guys think? Is KTV going a bad thing?

laruku
06-14-2004, 02:37 AM
i bet that those people who are against going to the KTV have never stepped into a modern one before. all the remanant images they have are those sleazy ones with bargirls sitting around... there are still some of these around but not as rampant as they were in the 80s...

i guess they need time to convert??

dazzlette
06-14-2004, 03:30 PM
I don't think going to KTV is a bad thing. I mean some people buy VCDs and with the appropriate sound system, sing at home.. isn't it the same thing? Going to these KTV places gives you a wider range of songs to choose from.

Anyhow I would feel uncomfortable if I went to a sleezy looking place to sing too. So I like the family image these KTV places are projecting.

laruku.. I will make it a point to ask for refills the next time I go.. :wink2:

mmm.. i tink its good to bring a jacket along too.. coz the room gets real cold after sometime.. me and my frens will be shivering in the freezing room.. maybe its the k-box scam to chase us out of the room by lowering the air-con temp..

You are SO right ! I've never understood the concept of antartic temperatures at karaoke places in Singapore. I've been to a few (K-Box, Partyworld, etc) and they seem to be hell bent on freezing everyone in there. My friends are I would bring our fleece jackets in there. I might decide to bring mittens and my woolly hat next. And everytime you try to ask them to adjust the temperature, they'll go *in chinese tone* The air con is central one. Cannot adjust. Solly hor."

Has anyone of you been to K-Box at Cineleisure ? I believe it's one of the newest outlets. Be warned - they lurrrve to cut out your song list ! My friends and I put Jay songs and suddenly, a whole list of like 10 songs will disappear and we'll have to spend time re-kaying them in. It happened so many times that we complained and was moved to another room. Oddly, the same thing happened. We left the place unhappily after paying for the freezing room and over-priced tidbits.

Has anyone else encountered the same problems ? I can only guess that because they're a new outlet, they're still trying to sort out their computer system. I've never encountered this problem at other K-Box outlets.

mUShy
06-16-2004, 02:45 AM
ene: hmm, just as I was thinking of checking out this LARGEST k-box outlet at cineleisure (the one on the 8th flr rite?) :hmm:
You are SO right on the aircon part too. I don't believe all the KTVs are setup with a central aircon system. I vaguely remember that they were able to adjust the temperature at PartyWorld (somerset)...or was it Holidays KTV (beside sg conference hall) :?

In the past, besides having to tolerate with the cutting of song list, we had to endure some horrible chinese movies/drama or mtvs played during the in-between-songs wait.
Oh and not to mention the biased scoring system. The louder you shout into the mic, the higher chances of a high score

06-16-2004, 05:47 AM

I never knew that there will free refills... Grrr... Those people behind the counter conveniently forgot to inform me and my friends everytime we patronise KBox.

So far I have only been to KBox. I want to try K-ster and Partyworld but I 'm not sure how good they are. Can anybody enlighten me?

As for now, I 'm fine with KBox cos their songs are super updated and they have lotx and lotx of Jay songs. Hee~ me and my friends like singing the oldies too. We get such a tremendous kick out of doing it. I remember the other time my whole class were singing karaok at my friend's house and they kept picking those really really old songs like wo zhi zai hu ni. And, the guys could pull off the hokkien songs really well. Besides the chinese songs, we also sang english oldies like yesterday and unchained melody.

Actually K-ster is not bad... de prices are quite reasonable... but de prob is K-ster updates their songs very slowly... everytime i went de songs are not really very updated... so i think kbox wud be better in terms of de songs... price is ard de same...

dazzlette

I don't think they're related. Though I have nothing to back myself on this. Why would they be related?

laruku
06-20-2004, 09:13 AM
i don't think so too.. never heard of them being related.. they seem to be enemies to me.. opening outlets at the same places.. but then again.. it might be some gimmick but i doubt so.. :bleh:

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like K-ster decided to just jump on the bandwagon of K-Box. So much for creativity.... :shifty:

I thought the concept of a family KTV was only introduced here from Taiwan recently.. I wouldn't think that K-ster copied K-box.. More like these places copied those in Taiwan...

ene
06-25-2004, 06:42 AM
But I get this impression that K-ster appeared after K-Box. No ? I've personally not seen any K-ster outlets around, hence my impression that they're "copying" K-Box's concept. K-Box seems to be the first to get the concept working in Singapore from Taiwan. Or was it Partyworld ? Ah...the mind boggles.

All I can say for now is K-Box seems to be doing very well and naturally, copycats will mushroom all over as well. Same case with the bubble-tea craze sometime back, remember ? Am sure that started in Taiwan as well. Copying from Taiwan doesn't even stop there. TV shows are also being copied, right down to games and concept.

Anyway, back to karaoke.... :sing:

hisashi
06-25-2004, 07:12 AM
Erm, may I say that Singapore copies a lot from Taiwan..even the pork floss bread...

anyways, I haven't tried out K-box so the most reasonable priced "time" will be in the morning weekdays? and they charge by per pax? then I will never get to sing in K-box..

dazzlette
06-25-2004, 07:42 AM
Yeah.. I kinda think KTV fad will die out just like Bubble Tea did... it might not totally disappear but it won't be everywhere like it is now..

I don't really think Partyworld is that family oriented.. it's kinda dark and still a bit sleezy looking...

I haven't tried K-ster but from what I heard it's similar to K-box.. K-box is only worth it if the group isn't big and you sing for quite long.. ...

I don't really think Partyworld is that family oriented.. it's kinda dark and still a bit sleezy looking...
I celebrated my dad's birthday at the Orchard branch (where Popular used to be) with my family ! Not too bad lah :D

Yup that's the one I'm refering to... Compared to K-box.. it's less family oriented.. though I agree it's not as bad the traditional KTV places.. it's the way the place is designed with the dim lighting and smartly dressed waiters that give me the bad impression... but it's ok.. I still go there once in a while with my friend.. who's has a special membership so he always insists on singing there...

k-ster at lucky chinatown is very small, quite cramped. but the k-ster at peace centre is real big, when my frens & i stepped into the room, we were quite appalled at the size & we really feel like big bosses. however as we stayed there longer (we booked 4.30pm to 8.30pm), we realised tt at nite, it seems to be a nite-club or sth similar, there's so many china woman scantily dressed and at night, it is called dynasty. wat worse is tt, near 8pm or so, the smaller tv beside the main one will sort of like advertising the women, introducing them, which patr of china they r from, their names and also their #. eeks, we really get creepy and leave hastily cos we r all gals, of cos dun wan to be mistaken. din tried party world yet, shd be gg there the next time

I started going ktv 3 years ago, and I got hooked on to it, once you start going you can't resist the next time

i would either go kbox or cha ren @chinatown or holiday ktv @outram area(these 2 are under the same company as partyworld, i think).

I think different ktvs have their own pros and cons.
For cha ren and holiday ktv, they have wider variety of the "older" songs, the waiters there not very good though. but it has its plus points also, if you are not only after the latest songs

FOr kbox, it has more new songs, it has a nicer ambience, more smoke-free, it's also a bit chaeper. The thing that i like about kbox is that you can sing and settle your meal at the same time(for k-lunch) and you get to sing the latest song

By the way, i think k-ster appeared before kbox. don't think they are related

yep I m quite positive that k-ster appears b4 kbox... no connections too... they have different bosses... btw I heard from my fren that she saw some ktv named j-box (quite recently, she told me abt a few mths ago)yep and I think that this is
den a real copy version of k-box,judging from the name...I havent really been to j-box though,so tell me if I'm wrong...
yep I agreed that partworld ktvs r very sleezy, smoky (I think the PSI level in there is high...haha I mean judging from the smoke the cigarettes generate ) and I wont really reccomend it for those young teens in sec schs...too complicated the place...k-box looks more like a family ktv to me and I prefer that the most!

ktv?? i cant sing!!! stop trying to make be miserable!!!! haha... jus jokin... another of my lame jokes...
k-ster did come out b4 k-box... unless my 11-yr old memory is failing me!?
i have never been to any karaoke before... maybe bcos i have the ''impression'' that karaokes are sleazy places?? i dunno...
but k-box is more family-orientated... they have special rates for students during sch hols...and family packages etc..

yeahs, i agree that partyworld looks abit too dim etc, but the prices are cheaper if compared to that of k-box's.disadvantages in PW are that the stereo is kinda too sharp, and the songs aren't as much quick updated as of k-box's. kbox is family-oriented, i agree.services are better, songs more updated, more brightly lit. but
comparing both's pros & cons, i would say you pay for what you get.still i would choose PW anyway. (:

anyway, i heard that k-ster's floor is quite "sensitive"? i heard from my friend that one guy spat on the floor twice and the alarm beeped.his parents were called over as he couldn't afford the $500 fine.any accidental spilling of drinks would trigger the alarm too.such casE?

i find karaoke-ing a good thing to do with a bunch of friends.. can really enjoy ourselves in a room that is our's for the few hours.. and i particularly like it because its the place i can sing out loud with having to worry about disturbing my neighbours

and i usually go to K-Box.. i feel that the pricing is quite affordable for me.. and the songs are very updated..

one thing i dun like singing is: your voice goes real squeaky after some high-pitch or rock songs. sigh. and worse is that u forgot to bring sweets along. argh.

who has mastered "tong hua"? its a song wif pitch tt's kinda hard to catch. (:

I used to sing on almost every morning. Kbox charge at a low price when its from 11pm till 2pm. Sometimes, if there is no one waiting from rooms, I can stay there till 3pm. It not only a happening here, its growing in me that time.

Now, I am cool with it. If I am not going, I don't feel the itch like last time.

I don't really know how to read those chinese words too!

I don't really like to sing English songs, cos the MV only shows places, people and sometimes....crazy ladies! Very embarrassing to sing in front of friends and family.

Woah... this was a very old threat that DragonPrince plucked out... : )

Talking about karaoke, if u guys gng to sing k, try to pick the song "Zhang Xin" (Palm) by Wu Yin Liang Pin (The ex group of Guang Liang & Ping Guan).. there is a imfamous scene, where a blurred girl standing outside a window in one of the scene and the window panes suddenly closed. Give me the creeps.

Yeah, I just reply to anything I can reply. I guess I plucked out a lot of old threads thesedays.

Thats horrible! Hmm...thanks for the recommendation. I think I have to get someone to accompany me to watch it.

Whats MLTR?

Yeah, I can sing English songs. For the chinese songs, I can only sing some.

Maybe we should head to the KTV for the next outing. Sounds fun!

Nah, its just that when Michael is rocking. I am still a nerdy kid. Thanks for giving that statement.
The '>.<

That reminds me of school days. Those kids sing those songs all day, in front of me. And I don't know a thing. Forgive me. I didn't want take the effort to figure out what is MLTR, thats why I asked.

Thats so long ago.

Look at us, where are we now? I wish I know where those bands are at now.

I think I dig this thread out by viewing those threads related to those I had reply. And I just reply anything I can. So, if you don't like the thread I dug out. I am sorry.

WY... don't think so much lahz... I was just a bit surprised to see this thread back up especially since the last reply was like... almost 6 months ago? But its great because I really love to K and sing as well! Cheers! :D

I have really lost track of all the bands I used to listen to.. They are like... all gone... The only English Band that I'm still madly after is Evanescence!! They rock so much I can never get enough of them. Their much anticipated new album will finally be coming out around May this year... I can't wait for it.

DragonPrince
02-16-2006, 06:04 PM
I like that band too! I think a Linking Park song's beat sounds like 'Si Mian Chu Ge', its 'Believe me'.

stitchphil
02-16-2006, 06:10 PM
Love it? I'm obsessed with them!! Oh.. I think you were refering to the band called Fort Minor, it is headed and produced by one for the Linkin Park members, Mike Shanowada or something, dunno how to spell his name.

It's just merely a coincidence that they used the same sample in their music.

is there sth wrong??
did something i said which offended you??
you sound disturbed... :worry:
if i did.. i'm sorry then..

i'm just shocked that you're almost same age as me.. and yet you don't knw MLTR when you listened to Eng song too..
:bleh: manz.. it makes me feel like i'm really outdate.. >.<
lols.. i love Evernescence..
and Linkin Park.. Don't you just love the combination of the two main singer.. i knw i do.. :P
Fort Minor.. i like their songs too.. yeah.. it's headed by Mike Shinoda i believe his name is..
i still prefer the other rapper in the Linkin Park.. he's really very very cool.. :P

DragonPrince
02-17-2006, 03:13 AM
Huh? Me, offended? Its hard to make me angry, you know.
But when I do, its can be really frightening. (according to someone else.)
You have not said anything that has offended me. *blur*

Its just that I have this thing about be nerdy in my school days. Everyone sees me in uniform. When I wore something else, on other days, my friends don't recognize me. Yeah, I am almost the same age as you. But people got so confuse about my age. Some call me auntie, some asked if I am married, some asked which school I am schooling. Am I so hard to guess?

Forgive me of my ignorance, I don't know much about the English pop charts at that time. Hehheh...
