I have yet to watch All In, but with all the rave reviews I've been getting, I'm sure I'll love it too!

I can't agree more with how you described LBH: intense (manda_hoon), relentless charm and uber manly persona (felice) hunky (huixuan). he's all these and more! but more than anything, he's really a very very talented actor.

I only got to watch 5 discs of Happy Together, and despite all the complications in their family, I actually like the story. We'll see a very different LBH here, at least from his recent roles. I've cried a lot while watching the series and my heart really went out to him - a dumb, naive and very vulnerable, kind-hearted guy who just wants to be united with his family. I'd still recommend it, especially for the die-hard fans (aren't we all? :wink2: ) plus the series also stars Song Seung Hun. Jun Ji Hyun and Cha Tae Hyun!

thanks huixuan for the lovely photos! Although I prefer to see him onscreen with Choi Ji Woo (another favorite of mine), you really can't deny the spark between him and So Hye Gyo.

I just got a dvd of his movie, with the Chinese title Zhong Du (sorry I don't know the English title). I think it's about two brothers, with LBH playing the younger brother. His elder brother I think dies and then his spirit enters the body of his younger brother, prompting him to fall in love with the former's wife. If I remember it correctly, I think that's how the story goes. I have yet to watch it though.

He can sing. He has this low, deep voice but nothing special with it really. He released an album awhile back and I think he's busy promoting his second album now.

I watched addicted last night and I have mixed feelings about the movie. I found it rather disturbing. As usual, Lee Byung Hun's acting was superb! But there's a bonus: it actually has this very tastefully done 5-min love scene, where LBH bared his butt! :brows: (and it's one beautiful butt! hehe at least compared to Bae Young Jun's! that was just one ugly butt he showed in Untold Scandal! :rasp: ) It was really what you would call 'tender, passionate love-making.' Worth watching definitely :wink2:

some more updates..LBH is sheduled to be back in korea today.. he's going to have a press conference about the break up, in the airport...well he and Hye kyo were able to talk to each other pn the phone last june 15 and he apologized for making her feel bad and he said he still loves er..Hye Kyo on the other hand. seemed distracted according to reports. She said she kept seeing BH's silhouette in her shooting location.. it's really difficult to get over that.. hope they could fix things..

Lee Byung Hun press statement:

I had thought through deeply over SHK's standpoint and in consideration for her future, I took this painful decision to break up.

I apologised to all the well wishes & friends whom had encouraged our relationship but it didn't turn out the way it was expected.

After the release of the break up statement from YY agency, SHK was left alone to handle the media harassment, while I was away in Japan for business, to him was a serious matter. ( He meant as a man, he should be bearing the responsibity instead and also showing his protectiveness for her)

The breakup of a relationship is not centred on just one or two reasons, but different views of marriage and timing being one of the reasons and the sacrifice that comes along with it. The major reason is her career advancement. ( He being a more experience artist himself, understand what extend of great sacrifice SHK will have to face.)

He went on to compliment Song Hye Kyo Si on her great potential in acting and wishes her well. ( He had already addressed SHK formally now instead of Hye Kyo). At this point, he paused for awhile to recompose himself.

He was grateful for everybody's concern for him and he would be revived and recharged to emback on his career again.

he is such a sweetheart and one very honorable guy. he's really a man in every sense of the word. It really wasn't an easy decision for them - we could see that - but I have to agree, it was the best decision for them both given their differences and especially SHG potential as an actress. so sad!

manda_hoon he was away when the 'break up statement' was released, so it was the first time he was facing the media after the official announcement of his break up with SHG. he chose to settle the issue once and for all through a press conference than have the press chase him all over and feast on the break up some more.

There are so many things we both want to achieve, but how can that be possible if we have to struggle with all these emotions? How can we concentrate on our work? Honestly speaking, those are factors we have to take into consideration, especially since we are actors much loved by a lot of people. Therefore, since there are many fans supporting us from not just Japan, but from all over the world, and there are also many official engagements to be fulfilled, some of which have been confirmed a long time ago, it would be better for us to show the positive and happy sides of ourselves, which everyone hopes to see.

Oh my God!! LEE BYUNG HUN!! I LOVE HIM!!! I LOVE HIM!!! He's so charming with those intense eyes and sensual downturn mouth (but I think his mouth looks kinda ugly when he smiles in Beautiful Days. It's too wide.)

I used to boycott Korean serials coz I thought that it is very boring and the guys are ugly. But my perception changed that fateful night when I couldn't sleep and my mom was watching Beautiful Days on tv. At first glance, I thought he was Jay Chou (esp with that hairstyle, eyes covered by his fringe and downturn mouth). Haha! I spent that night on the couch with my mom watching that episode and the next day, I went to buy the beautiful days vcd. My friends refused to believe it when I told them that I need to go to the vcd shop to buy a korean drama till they actually witnessed it with their own eyes coz I used to have nothing but bad comments for Korean drama serials.

Erm, to tell the truth, my perception still has not changed much. I've only completed watching 3 korean drama serials - Beautiful Days, All In and Loving You. Other than these 3, I did not even finish watching dramas like Winter Sonata (it totally put me to sleep, no offence), All About Eve, Hotelier, Ma Ma Jie Jie, Barefooted Youth (this is the worst among all. I did not even finish one disc and the vcds are still somewhere in a corner of my room colecting dust!) and I can't remember the rest.

Ah, anyway, back to LBH. After watching BD, I was so crazy over him that I went round searching for his stuff and the soundtracks in BD coz all the songs are sooo nice. There was this one month whereby I simply had to watch the "Promise" and "Goodbye" MV where it shows shots of the show (the songs by zero, remember?) everynight before I sleep.

I'm reviving this thread because I sooo wanna watch A Bittersweet Life now!!! LBH looks drop dead gorgeous in it. The trailer looks so sexy eventhough it's kinda sadistic (lotsa blood and guns). And Eric stars in it too!!! Double drooling, I may have to bring a bathtub to the cinema! I just hope they won't cut off the violent scene when they screen it :dry:

I also love the theme song by Korean artist Yang-pa and LBH directed the music video for the soundtrack. I've been listening to it non-stop!!!

My LBH definition of sexy started when I watched Addicted. He was so good at that one and he played a guy who has this need for speed, and I don't know, him wearing just a simple shirt and this sexy jacket...he was breathtakingly appealing.

Well, watching Everybody has Secrets. I understand why each female on that movie had an interesting encounter with him.

This guy definitely has that to die for appeal. Even if he wore a pink polo with flowers with an almost lacy fabric (the one he wore at Spore) he came out masculine.

Well in that series, SHG and LBH are separated for several years after they first met and LBH get in jail while SGH wants to be a nun. But they met again and SHG change her mind being a nun and work in a casino where LBH works too. Well they simply falling for each other but somehow fate just don't belong to them. They've separated again because of something and then meet again in another few years and they decided to get married cos in fact they still love one another. But at the wedding day, LBH still have to meet his boss for an occassion and when he want to go to the church he saw his boss enemies want to kill his boss so he try to save his boss life nad get himself shot and not appearing at the church and that makes SHG dissapointed and leave him. The scene when LBH looking everywhere for SHG is when he tried to explain things to SHG so he go try to find SHG in her favourite place.

Well i hope it's clear enough for you :happy: I like his looks in the series. Maybe because he is wearing suits and always winning his gambling games that adds the charmed and adorable effect :rolleyes:

Some thirty journos are huddled in a luxirious conference room in Grand Copthrone Waterfront Hotel waiting for the 35-year-old hunk, Lee Byung Hun (Everybody has a Secret, All In) to arrive. Here to launch his DVD set containing 80 mins of pure unadulterated LBH footage at his most candid candied moments, it's already 25 minutes past LBH's scheduled appearence. Photographers check their flashlights for the thirtieth time. Their index fingers are frozen on the trigger buttons. Everyone is eyeing the door -and their watches- nervously thinking, "Am I at the right room? Am I late? Am I too early? Why is LBH not here? Is the door stuck?"

Now when it comes to Korean dramas, I won't deny their immerse popularity, but really, what is it with the melodramatic twists, sudden plot revelations and 'cry me a river' moments? Let's just say Korean dramas are about as appealing to me as proper diction is to Mandopop mumbler, Jay Chou. ( :oops: )

But I gotta admit, there is just something about the Korean hunks in these shows. For one, they seem to bring women together. Girls young enough to eat kimchi- like four years old- to cranky grannies old enough to spank your ass for not eating your greens. Talk about Wonbin, and suddenly every female within hearing distance is inclined to swoon. Mum would approve of the specs-wearing 'auntie killer', Bae Yong Jun. He's cute, he's sensitive, he's cute, dammit. We bet even the supercatty female team from the Apprentice will bond over a DVD marathon of his weepie, Winter Sonata. or, collectively swoon over LBH.

Speaking of which, our elusive star stride in at last, half an hour late. For the next forty minutes, LBH unabashedly answers questions with quiet, unostentious poise in a low rumbling voice, punctuating the air ever so often with exhortations of "Ah! Ah!" to show he's in deep thought. Surprisingly, he speaks pretty fluent English, though he uses his native tounge and leaves his translator the job of unscrambling his lines in English.

I can be quik tempered and clumsy. When it comes to work, I try to be perfect. But I'm not like Michael Jackson, who make-believes everything is perfect. That's not the way. I want to live a real life

On his most attractive features
I act with genuine feeling and seriousness. Maybe that's what makes me so appealing. But I can't speak for other people. It's hard to say what the most attractive part of me is.

On Acting
An actor has to relate to common people in real life. You have to know what their lives are. You can't totally disconnect. That's pretending. You have to experience real life.

On overcoming career hiccups
Whatever you do, you do it because you like it and you think you are best in doing this. You can't just quit overnight. In every industry it's the same thing. On hindsight, I've overcome these critical moments quite well.

A Bittersweet life is adding to my list of movies to watch!! Okay I have to admit although I am not a LBH fan, but got attracted to his suave-killer look of the official poster..

I quite like Everybody has a Secret, oh god.. he is such a charming man for the 3 ladies! It's relaly entertaining and funny.. esp he and Choi Ji Woo's parts..
Recently, I just found out that he is also in JSA as well.. he did really well in the show.. seriously, I like that movie a lot. I was rather surprised by the ending.. (if you have watched it.. you know..)

yup, Lee Young Ae was in JSA as well. That movie also made her famous... :sweat: It's a bit violent with the gun shots and .. things like that.. but I must say LBH's acting is so good in there. The plot of the movie is quite fantastic, esp the ending.

wow..just browsing and found gold...=) hi everybody..I'm a newbie to this one.....but I'm a huge LBH fan. I've seen him in All-in (my absolute fav. movie) and happy family. He is so wonderful isn't he?
I cried all the way through All-in...it was just so heartwrenching. I didn't know he and SHK dated but I was terribly saddened to hear that they had parted. I do hope and pray they find their way back to each other because they make such a beautiful couple. When I first saw All-in and saw SHK in that wedding dress in one of the first scenes..I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen..=) (so jealous..hahaha..jk)..
So do you girls/guys have a list of what other movies he is in? I've been listening to his album..(thanks for uploading)..it is very good...it makes me sad..I don't understand korean..but it does have some beautiful sad melodies and I almost cried when I first heard it..(I was missing someone!!)

Hollywood is going to remake JSA!!! First it was I Mare and now JSA... looks like even Hollywood can't resist the Hallyu (Korean Wave) fever.

Great news about our oppa. His Bittersweet Life received rave reviews in the Cannes and he's been signed into the same management company as Tom Cruise in Hollywood. So, we probably won't see him acting in Korean movie for sometime later. I'm glad that his career is going well now. He deserves it after working so hard ^^

I started to know LBH when i watched this Korean Drama named Beautiful Day. OMG! i was totally addicted to his smile :drool:. He is just so :realcool:. And later on i watched this movie called Everyone has a secret. ( Not sure about the title of the movie ) Again he is acting with all the beautiful girls, and this time 3 of the actress in a movie. He act as a playboy in the movie which make me think :unsure: he really don't ever appreciate in one's relationship. But later on i watched All In.:whoops:I must admited that what i think about him is wrong, he was so loyal to the actress in the movie......i am so in love with him in that movie. And i think he is just the man for black suit...Everytime he wears it, i was like :drool:.This is the 3 of the movie and drama i had watched which stars by LBH.
