This is one of my all-time favorites of Jay's latest album, great composition, unconventional and just plain kick ass...but I always wondered about a background line during the chorus of the song:

仁慈的父我已坠入
ren ci de fu wo yi zhui ru
Benevolent father, I have already fallen

看不见罪的国度
kan bu jian zui de guo du
(I) cannot see the world of sins

请原谅我的自负
qing yuan liang wo de zi fu
Please forgive my self-pity

HERE

没人能说没人可说
mei ren neng shuo mei ren ke shuo
No one can say, no one will say

好难承受
hao nan cheng shou
(that) It’s so hard to endure

荣耀的背后刻着一道孤独
rong yao de bei hou ke zhe yi dao gu du
Carved behind honour is a streak of loneliness

AND HERE

闭上双眼我又看见
bi shang shuang yan wo you kan jian
Closing both eyes, I see again
...

And then two more times later in the chorus.

To me it sounds a little like Korean....but that didn't make any sense at all. So I ask you GREAT FANS OF JAY CHOU, what is this missing line?!

p.s. I hope this is in the right forum....please move if necessary....

Are you talking about something that sounds like "annyoung" at the end? I've always thought they were just, erm, how do you say it, like, something that people just make up when they sing or rap. I'm not sure of the terms. Anyhow, my Korean friends have listened to this song before but they didn't mention hearing any Korean phrases.

vunsin: yup, it's that part with the "annyoung" and it's particularly that ending that makes it sound Korean to me....hmm....oh well, maybe someone else will have an answer for me.

It's funny because when one of my Korean friends (my best friend) listened to that song, she asked me about that part because she thought finally there were some Chinese words she recognized! She thought she heard "zhe ge zhe ge" before the "annyoung" but she didn't think the "annyoung" sounded like the Korean "annyoung." Strange.

Wow, you guys are late. I think there were like sooo many threads on this when the album came out. It was kind of wierd hearing Jay sing it in English because it's so off. But i guess it makes it sound good.

And your point is? :? So, some of us joined the forum a little later. I don't think that's a crime.

If you watch the "Making of YFZM" at around 7:15, the director of the MV mimics Jay's singing, and that's where you can really tell it's "uh yah check it check it"

I swear the first time I heard the song I thought Jay said "uh yo yo zhi bian zhi bian uh yo" ;P Vun, you're so fun :D *did not mean for that to rhyme -_-"*

Wow, so that's what Jay's been singing! I was wondering for quite a while! I thought that by chance it might be italian or something. And when I was watching the making of the MV and heard the director sing that part, I thought the part that he was singing sounded famillar!

For some reason, that's what I hear when Jay sings it. Fascinatingly, Jay says yo, as the chinese says the pinyin word "you". Weird or not, it's unique. I like it. :wink2:

haha even though I always knew what it was suppose to be, I always thought it sounded more like "chuck it chuck it" or "chug it"
