I think The Lords of the Ring and The matrix is the best trilogy ever. The special effect that made is so great. Actually Starwars also a good one but I think it's quite long from one to other parts. You can imagine, from Harrison Ford until Ewan Mc Gregor.
From Asian movies, I like Infernal Affairs and The ring.
What about you guys? Do you have your own choices?

definitely star wars, although i don't really like the new trilogy. the "original" one with harrison ford, mark hamill and carrie fisher is just ten times better than the newer one.

Definitely vote for TLOTR!!! man it is awesome!!! Specially my Legolas :cloud9: and surely not just because of him. I think they have a great scenario and great angle when the movie shots!! Lots of action and many details thing that the director made. And it won lots of Oscar..so it prove something..

Yeah what w4t3rlily said, and simply because it was such a great film waiting to be made, and jackson succeeded in pleasing. its such a different movie, one you wouldn't have known unless it was made... but now its just glorious!

It's definitely Lord of the Rings for me. To me, it had everything an excellent film should have: excellent cast and crew who knew their work. The trilogy definitely deserved the Oscars.
I didn't catch The Matrix and The Ring. I liked IA 1 and 2 but 3 was a big disappointment. I watched Star Wars too many moons ago to really appreciate the films.
There are some other trilogies that you all may wish to talk about:
*Scream - I only liked the first one. After that, everything just wasn't so scary anymore. In fact it got quite boring. :bigyawn:
*Back to the Future - This I loved. I really liked the idea and adored Michael J. Fox. When he announced that he had Parkinson's disease, I was so :depresse:. But reading his autobiography has made me believe that he will conquer the disease.
*Indiana Jones - Another one of my favourites! This got me into Adventure films/books and Harrison Ford.
*Terminator - No. 1 and 2 were really mind blowing to me when I was still young, but No. 3 was bad.
*Austin Powers - Mojo Man and Dr Evil definitely made me laugh, but No. 3 just didn't do it for me.
*Hannibal - Silence of the Lambs still ranks as my No. 1 hide-under-blanket movie. It was scary. Really scary. Unfortunately Hannibal was :rasp: . But Red Dragon, thank goodness, was much better than expected after that flop, Hannibal.
*The Godfather - This trilogy, my bro loves to bits. Unfortunately, I've only managed to watch Part III.
*Alien - Don't have much to say except that my money wasn't wasted watching Sigourney Weaver and her guns.
*Superman - Again, I was really young when I watched this (most of you were probably not even born yet! :) ) but Christopher Reeves remains as my favourite Superman, both on screen and in real life.

It got to be Lord of the Rings...
The settings are way cool! The sceneries of New Zealand are beautiful too! The Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, wizards, hobbits... all those cast are so creative.
Most importantly... Orlando is so hot in there! :brows:

Hmm, my favorite is would be the GODFATHER series. :)
Though among the given choices I have to pick LOTR. :wink2:
I loved Infernal Affairs 1 but the second and especially the third one, I really don't like it much. Somehow, it feels forced.

I'm not a big fan of western movies, especially sci-fi and LOTR style (what do you call that?)...
i've watched the last episode of star wars and found it boring.
i've watched the first epsiode of LOTR and found it boring and i didn't understand a thing, that's why i didn't watch 2 and 3.
i 've never watched matrix...it just didn't appeal to me.
i've watched all 3 eps of infernal affairs, not a big fan of it, but it would be my preference...

ok imma be different cuz being different is COOL
so i voted star wars, and the only one so far, but yea...the original ep 4-6 are the best of all time...i completly despise the first 2 and i think that george lucas completly sold out for the money and dissappointed millions of old fans, but oh well...what can you expect
i really liked infernal affairs too tho...the first...i never really saw the second or third even tho i have them...
as for the matrix...i dont like it much at all...now that i think about it....it was just bad, and got worse...haha i dunno...maybe its just me, but it was weak =/
btw i didnt know the ring was a trilogy? is it?

ive only seen star wars 2 and 3.

I also voted LOTR, nothing can really compare. The effects, the storytelling, the acting, the sheer amount of work that went into it, just wow.
But another one that's good too is Harry Potter!!!

Lord Of The Rings hands down. It has argubly be the most anticipated movie trilogy in recent years at least. The 1st movie - Fellowship Of The Ring is already amazing not to mention that the director actually topped the 1st with the rest like The Twin Towers and Return Of The King.
It has been like ages since a movie of this genre and production came out and when it does, it really made a impression around the world.

The godfather- why isn't in included it's like a must have dvd set.(that I don't have, yet)
LOTR is pretty high on the list too, but The Godfather is a classic.

Hmm... Why is it that Harry Potter is not included in it? i think it's kind of nice. One after another getting more and more adventurous. anyway, i chose Infernal though i didnt really like the last one cause it's kind of boring. full of flashbacks but i think the first two part of infernal was a success so i chose that. the rest of the other choices, i'm not so into it and didnt really watch it so cant comment on it.

LOTR by far. Only the first Matrix was good because you got introduced to the concept and it was very weird and cool, but then the movies went down hill after that. LOTR has amazing actors, amazing storyline, action... wow.

I really liked the Matrix, but the first was better than the last two.
LOTR on the other hand was well done also, but it improved, and the last was the best one.
My vote goes to LOTR

My choice would be LOTR. Great movie that has an excellent plot with breathtaking visual effects. I suppose the one thing that really captivates the audience are the battle scenes. Those were the best moments of the movie.

I'd have to go with Lord of the Rings since that's really the only one I've seen...besides Harry Potter...but does that count...sincei ts notreally finished yet...*shrugs* either way they both were'nt that good...I've found that most trilogy or longer series that are made into movies aren't that good...at least that's my opinion...although I must admit Lord of the Rings was pretty cool when I first saw it...but I've seen the last one so many times that I can't stand that series anymore...

LOL the first thing that came to my mind was 'The Lord Of The Rings' when I saw the word 'trilogy' but then Harry Potter came in very soon thereafter. However, since it wasn't up in the poll, I chose the LOTR. I love this series. It just got better and better with each new release. I remember after watching The Return Of The King(final installment), I couldn't stop talking about it to my anti-LOTR friend and she got interested. We skipped school the following day and went to the cinema to catch the early bird movie and she totally loved it. She started purchasing the previous movies released in the series and became a total LOTR fan. Haha. its a really fantastic series and deserves its place 2nd to Titanic.

out of the list above, i chose The matrix...keanu was such a hottie, lol. if not the matrix, it would be star wars or infernal affairs, even tho i havent watched every single one of them, of what i've seen so far, they're pretty good.
i havent seen all of LOTR because i dont know whats so good about it, i saw first half of the first one and didnt find it that interesting so i didnt finish watching the others.
My choice new would be LOTR..but wait til the pirates of the carribean comes out the third triolgy.. Go pirates.!
