Ok, so we all loved Lord of the Rings - it did win all 11 Academy Awards - but which one is your favorite?

For me, it was definitely The Return of the King *Sighs* That is one helluva movie. I cried! Especially when at the end, Aragorn and Arwen came together and kissed. My God, I got chills up my body in that scene. The way Aragorn was looking at Arwen, aiyo! That's the kinda look a girl wants from her boyfriend. It can make you melt.... But I was just glad that it was a happy ending for them.

And when Frodo left Sam...that made me cry too. What a good friendship they have huh?

But what I love about The Return of the King is that it lets us escape from the normal world and we can dream a bit. It reinforces that hope is something very strong, which is something we all need I think.

So please vote and don't stop there - tell me why you liked it and any of your favorite scenes.

It's Fellowship of The Ring for me! :) The 1st instalment of the trilogy is so good it led to people waiting in anticipation a year each for both the 2nd and 3rd instalments. Fellowship of The Ring started the fascination for LOTR for me, I really marvel at how the characters and scenes were brought to life, and I still remember how captivated I was, sitting in the dark of the cinema and just totally absorbed into each and every scene. The characters, when they first appeared in FOTR, were all so mysterious and intriguing, like Gandalf, Strider (Aragon), the 9 horsemen (dead kings), Arwen and also Galadriel.. FOTR left me dreaming of elves and rivendell for many nights thereafter! My favourite scenes are mostly those with Gandalf in it - he is just so magnificent, awesome and formidable to look upon!

it's strange, but i can't seem to remember much about the movies. i've only seen each of them once....
but thinking about it now....i think i like The Two Towers the most. mainly coz Gollum is featured in there a lot and he was a funny kind of character. i loved the scene where he's sitting in the pond catching fish, and when he caught one he bashed it against the rock to kill it. :D
T2T also had a lot of the action and the war scenes...and humour, esp between Gimli and Legolas. :D

i would say return of the king cuz it's the ultimate finale..and endings are the biggest anticipation right? additionally, it has quite a number of incredibly memorable and enchanting, magical scenes. some tragic ones also..

my favorite scene is of course whenever legolas shows up on screen especially when he climbed up that elephant and shot it down bullseye with his bow & arrow.

i find legolas the most appealing of them all. but i'm sure many of you would disagree.

I would say the first one because it really is more about character development than the other ones. The others all have huge battles and such which are great occasionally, but you dont really get a good sense of the individual characters.

Actually that is a hard question for me cos i thing all of them are fantastic. But finally i vote for Return Of the King cos this is the conclusion among all and the end of the magnificent story and i love it so much.
and the battle are so amazing. Specially when it is involving those elephants and Legolas and Gimli still counting how much enemy that they kill and whem Legolas kill a big elephant Gimli said "we still gonna count it as one" hohohoo..that is really really funny..

actually all three are good but its just like the matrix, the first movie is all a 'new idea' so it just seemed soooo good but then the later two are just conclusions so that felling of freshness is lost. But nevertheless the action in the 2nd and 3rd movies are pretty interesting

I'm kind of surprised that so many people voted for the second movie because I don't really think it was all that good. Maybe it's just me because I had to sit in the second row and kill my neck trying to watch the movie! The first one was amazing and I love the suspense! The last one was amazing too I love the fighting scenes!

they are all good. me personally, i liked the second one, as it had the most action and it was in my opinion the best movie out of the three. Hard to decide since they are all unbelievably good.

I say the 'Fellowship of the Rings'. I tend to like beginnings (not just in films) where everything is fresh and new and one's excited about what's to come. You learn of their characters and their backgrounds. You understand their powers and the dilemnas that are set forth for them to overcome. The first contains a bit of everything - story, action, and character. By the time 'Return of the King' rolls around, I'm a bit tired (I did like the two Towers solely for the action) and I know it will always end well in Hollywood style. Everythings ties up in neat knots.

(legolas) i like aragorn he's cool... viggo mortenson... is it??? that's his name... i relli liked the triology.... i think it's even better thatn the book itself

Hmm... tough choice here... I love all three! I actually watched Two Towers first and found it really exciting and interesting with Elves and dwarves in the movie. Just when I saw Legolas, I promised myself that I'm going to catch the trilogy...keke... In all, I still feel that Return of the King is the best. Great ending and made me cry too! The part when Sam told Frodo about the Green pasture and Gandalf's fireworks really saddens me..

I heard that the VCD of Return of the King is out now! Or not? I just saw the poster a week ago...Gonna buy it! :)

I wonder why everyone likes Return of the kings so much?? Hmm...

I would have to say.. I like all 3 equally.. because really... its all one big long... I need to go the toilet.. when is this going to be over.. film! Being based on the book it is pretty much accurate except for a few small scenes. Though did anyone else notice that a lot of the movie was fly by scenes of hobbits and dwarfs running over grass.. mountains.. snow.. etc? It seemed like the movie was mainly scenery hehee

But if I have to choose I would say The Two Towers was the best. You have the introduction of Golumn and his double personality scenes.. :D the forest scene was funny also. :)

Thats it from me :excited: :excited: :bleh: :excited: :excited:

:D Haha. They're not gay just cause they're hugging each other...haven't you seen guys hug each other? I don't mean those wierd hugs bordering on the edges of friendship but a guy hug.

And personally, I think it's sweet that Frodo and Sam have such a good friendship. I mean, it's only natural, their reactions. they've gone through so much together then they have to part  That would be sad.

The return of the king just came out on DVD yesterday...I'm gonna go buy it and watch it over and over and over....

 I have to say I had the EXACT same thoughts as well. Didn't have to wait till the end of Return of the King to notice actually. Halfway through, I whispered to my friend that Frodo and Sam were sooo touchy and feely. As well as Pippin and Merry. I agree about them hugging each other at the last bit where they had to part but some other bits did suggest that they had a more than usual "brotherly" friendship.

And yes, my fav. of all 3 is Return of the King. I have to admit I fell asleep in the first one :wink2:

hmmm...tough decision because the two towers and return of the king are both really good, two towers had more action in it and return of the king had more emotions in it.
but i picked return of the king.

Thats a good point about that.. I did think those hobbit guys actually looked gay... ehhee glad to see im not the only one. Maybe its coz they were tiny compared to the rest of the characters and wore funny robes.. I felt a little sorry for Golumn... he was like a pet..

Though I don't think the directors intention was to make them look gay and all. I know what gay is, I've seen my boss and his bf kiss..

Still think 2nd movie is better.. :excited:

in my opinion the last movie was great because of the nice special effects and the massive last battle with those elephant look alike things plus its also a good conclusion to the whole story

For me the order is like this:
1. Fellowship of the Ring - raaaagh... Gandalf! Boromir! If you don't read the book... And the journey through Moria, the part at Rivendell, the part with Galadriel at Lothlorien... this movie has so many good parts in it.

2. Return of the King - all war... all war... quite boring but good ending!

3. Two Towers - boring.... the interesting part is only the Helm's Deep part. What's with the Legolas shieldboarding part.. or is it shieldskiing?

i liked the 1st movy...especially when they were at the shire...and the part where the black riders where looking for them and they were hiding under the tree---that was really tense...we had 2 watch it for music and study how the music changes...gt tired about like the 5th time we were watchin it agian. i hav to say the 1st movy was more memorable for me than the others...the ending so sad in the 1st movy...i really liked the guy who plays aragon :)

sha i cried too in the rtn of the king :D !!!! it wuz soooo good. i bought the very first session having to go 1 and a 1/2 hrs early and cue outside the shops in the cold  BUT IT WUZ SOOOO WORTH IT! the fighting and aragon!!! they upped the effects with each movie. i actually went to an exhibition which showed the making of the movies... waahhh~ REALLY intresting and hi-tech  i thought the 2nd movie sucked.. totally went away from the book.. which i shoudnt have read.. somehow reading the book b4 spoiled the movie coz of the expectations i had for it i gues.
