I guess we all have some forms of expectations when we knew something new's gonna come up, so how does this new forum live up to your expection?

I was just testing things out to see if smilies can be used... and I was super happy when things turn up on my preview screen!!!

You know, I just realized it's really really blue. At first I liked it, now as I was pre-viewing the portal page, it's just so blue. But I can't figure out what other color would go with the scheme.

Anyway, YES... I love the new version so much. It's way cooler... not only you can put smilies at the poll but you can also directly put those smilies at your signature. That is just awesome. :excited:

And I love its quick reply page. It's very spacy and ... I notice that the sub forums are way more organized.

The design was cool, and Love the motto 'Spreading Jayism Worldwide" up there, and... the only downside (from my side)... Jay's pic looks so big, that whenever I refresh the page, I have to scroll down FAST before my supervisor spotted me surfing here. :tongue:

But still I love the new version a lot. Excellet job!!! :D

Anyways, if you don't know yet, you can turn off alot of images:

User CP > Edit Options
scroll down to Thread Options where it says:
Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

Those of you at work, you can turn all those off for safer browsing
Unfortunately, you can't turn off that Jay pic.

Yea that's a useful feature :) I usually turn the pictures off when viewing it at school. Kind of feel uncomfortable with all these guy sig/avatar and huge Jay pictures left and right :laughing:

The layout is the best that I've seen from JC.net! When I first saw it, I totally loved it! The blue is very attractive and everything just dazzles me. This is the best forum that I've ever been to!

I don't know... Nowadays the site is loading much faster for me and I'm still using IE. My computer used to freeze all the time whenever I was browsing the forum, but it hasn't happened once since we moved. I'm crossing my fingers. :sweat:

Wow, very blue, but I guess that is because blue is Jay's favorite color. Very slick, cyber modern and professional. The layout is similar to previous so I have no problem getting around. I don't particularly like the chosen jay pic but nevermind, the administrators deserve a big applause for updating this forum to support an ever wider community of jay fans.

the layout is better than the old one. but the old one is more unique. this bluish layout is nice actually, but honestly, i can find more forum with blueish layout. yeah maybe it's bcoz jay like blue, so u make it blue. but it's ok. im still supporting this nice web.....

i think that the new layout of jcnet is waaaay better than the last layout as everything is more organised and quite easy to get around now once you get the hang of it :wink2:

Like Lisa, I love how the new polls have a different colour for each bar! it's really clear and sharp now... got that "edge"

At first, I have to say I like d color, it's blue and bright. yeah can't think of d other color that more suitable. This new look of d site including new tools make me surprise... :excited: it's such a fantastic and well organized site :thumbsup: , and that's above my expectation !!

I have to admit that some functions, I'm still not get d chance to try. I ever drop by in UserCP once, with no idea what it is. :sweat: finally I know that user control panel, it likes d profile but much more better. I'm learning how to use this site now :D

Well, to be honest i didn't really like everything in the beginning, i like the colours we had in the old forum. But now i got used to everything and i love everything!!!

LOL thats the same as me. Although its not a supervisor I'm worried about, its other people :shifty: I've gotta find out some way to stop loading that huge banner haha. I tried just turning off all images, but that didnt work too well either. Oh well, I'll just have to use the scorlling-down-fast trick :)

netscape generally loads pages faster than IE, although netscape takes a lot longer to load and starup the actual program. I havent noticed any change in the loading times between the new and old site though. Maybe its because I have a decently fast connection and decently fast computer

yeah, when first coming back to the site it felt a little uncomfortable. but that was because it was so new. now that i've gotten more used to it, and old features have been added, it looks great! although there are still some things i haven't quite figured out yet, it'll be fun discovering different functions and getting reacquainted with the site :)

all the new changes will take some getting used to, but over-all, what we
have now is really a new and improved jc.net :) there are more features, the lay-out is great and it has become more user-friendly. add to that our very own family,
the new jc.net will definitely the best home there is for us all!

I like this new improved layout alot, it has a refreshing and bright outlook when compared to the previous one (which has quite a professional but solemn look). There're alot of new interesting features added too like reputation and the buddy thing. Was quite lost initially but not so now after prowling around the site more, and with the Administrators and MODs constantly updating us on what's going on with the revamped site... thanks for all your efforts! :) I agree with the rest that it's a job well-done!
