Some of you might not be aware of this already... Whatever usergroup (one of the 6 socializing groups) that you applied to prior to the forum software conversion, please reapply because the lists were cleared.

I believe the procedure is:
User CP > Group Memberships

You'll see a list of user groups, click Join Group beside the one that you're interested in applying to.

I'd highly recommend you to check out the group threads in Social Lounge (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=33) to see what the group requirements are and chat with the current group members.

You can only apply to ONE group.

New registered members or members who did not apply to any usergroups previously but are now interested to do so, please follow the same procedure as above. FYI, most groups require around 50 posts as a minimum.

05-31-2004:
Please pardon the double post, but I noticed something to my dismay that needs to be addressed. This is especially directed to new members of this site who haven't read what I posted above. If you are applying to be part of a usergroup, you can only apply to ONE!!!!!

If either Karen or myself see that you're pending on the list for 2 or more (and God forbid ALL  ) the usergroups, you will be deleted from the waiting list (as I have just done with some members). So, don't be surprised if you didn't get into a usergroup because you did not follow the rules.

EDIT: (10-17-2004)

OK, I'm just bumping up this topic again because I have noticed that some members have applied to more than ONE usergroup.

If you don't remember which group you have applied to, try to keep track of it somehow. DON'T apply to more than one. I've deleted the names off the pending lists if I see any that are duplicates. So, reapply to ONE group if you're currently NOT on any list due to the removal of your name.

Please Please Please...

Apply to ONE usergroup only!!!

I edited the topic title. Hope this helps. :worry: I don't think those people had even bothered to read what's actually IN this thread at all. :worry:

well look at it this way... clearly it is the newbies that AREN'T reading the rules that are applying to more than one usergroup rite?? so what is the point in making a thread telling them what to do when they don't read up on rules in the first place?

well jason, for one thing, the original intent of this thread was directed at those who were pending on usergroup application lists but had their names cleared due to the forum software switch. (see date of my original post.) secondly, there'll always be those who slip through the cracks. so, we can't just stop posting certain things because they don't read them. and lastly, this way, we do have a thread to direct them to if future instances occur.

thanks for your help, vun. =)
