If Jay retires, it will be a big lost to the music industry.

I can't imagine that day coming.................i will be sooooooooooooooooo sad, but hey it's Jay's decision. And I will respect it. I will still listen to his cds and watching his mvs because his mucic is timeless.

If Jay will become a piano teacher, I will the first one to sign up for the lessons no matter how much is the fee.....heeheheh

if he retires, i'll be devastated but he needs to rest someday, right? if he becomes a piano teacher, that's great.. he can still spend the same amount of time with his piano as when he was/is a singer. i hope he doesn't retire for a long long time

I'd start to cry if he retires anytime soon. Giving up

fame and success, and lots of fans. He's an idol,

it'd be so disappointing if he stopped singing. He

would waste such a wonderful talent!

i doubt he'll retire anytime soon. if he retires soon.. he'll probably will just become composer and lyricist.. i mean what else can he do? he can't be a piano teacher because he'll be flooded with obsessed fans like us.

if he does retire soon and goes back into the background i will be very very very upset. cuz i love to hear his voice and see what kinda new thing he comes up next.

if he retires completely and just disappears i will die. i can't live without his music!

i hopeee he won't retire like anytime soon but if he does, his cds and vcds and everything are his legacy and i'll never forget him! i'll still practice piano everyday still and play his songs like xing qing and play his music everyday like i have been since like forever..life will go on but i'll never forget him cos he holds a piece in my heart. always remember he's going to be there even if he isn't always out there in the music world. i wouldn't blame him for retiring tho..awl the rumors really do catch up wit you..but i'd cry for him definitely!

oi, I think that is the funniest thing I have ever *read* you say. ahhahahhahahahahahaha.

I think if you send Jay that comment he will be pleased. Jay's music is your lifeblood!

btw, I doubt he'll retire anytime soon. I mean, look at his personality. He plans to win a Grammy! He's got a long path ahead of him and he's very ambitious and motivated. Retiring is probably the last thing on his mind. However, if his back problems become too great, then maybe he will be forced to retire. I read that his back disease causes people who suffer from it to lead shorter lives. I wonder if that is a reason why Jay wants to accomplish so much as fast as he can? that he knows he may not live as long as everyone else?

if he ever does retire I won't have much to listen to anymore. Only other artist I like are SHE and Elva :(

If he became a Piano teacher he would definitely be in high demand :D Although you probably couldn't learn anything because you'll all be drooling :p

if that is really the reason behind his motivation, won't he be leading like a sad life? like u noe ur going to die anytime soon so u wanna fulfill ur last wishes... :( i feel so sad thinking of this...

well well, everybody has to retire someday. if the day come, hopefully because J choose to do so and not because of his health problem or any sad incidence.

his album will always be my precious possession and brings back wonderful memories. his songs will be classic - you bet !!.

J is too talented to end up juz being piano teacher - he mentioned plan to nurture young talents. that's a good one - be the David Foster or Quincy Jones to Chinese music !!.

or .. (wild guess) he could start creating musicals !! imagine that !!

I hope Jay will retire.

I can't lie and say that I wouldn't miss his music, but I feel really bad for him. It seems to me that he's really working too hard. IF he's not on tour, he's writing a song for someone else, if he's not writing a song for someone else, he's trying to compose for himself, and if he's not doing that...he must be on tour. It's like he never stops.

I recently read a short interview that he had with a radio DJ, and from what I see in it, it sounds like he doesn't ever lead his own life, he never knows where he is going to until like, 12 hours before they are suppose to be there.

I mean sure, he's popular, well loved, famous, and rich, but he never plans any of the activities his company tells him to go. I'm not even sure that he really likes to hold concerts and perform in front of hundreds of people.

I bet that he just wishes he could stay home and not be afraid that fans would barge in his home and steal his underwear... oh wait, what underwear?
^-^;;

But anyway what I'm saying is that I think he's being worked too hard, and if he had the choice to retire now, I really hope he takes it.

And oh yeah! I'd definitley take piano lessons with him. ^-^

it is tru that evryone retires one day but in this case i doubt that jay will retire dat quick.......

hmm.......if he was a piano teacher of coz i'll go, i'll quit lessons with my piano teacher straight away and have jay sittin nxt to me teaching mi the piano.........of coz i would work hard and practice everyday

i really admire jay and his music, how he composes his songs and his singing voice........so dreamy..........
but if he does retire, i'll alwayz remember him and his albums, concert cds, posters and evrything that i have i will keep as possessions.
I will always remember him as my idol!

hahaha.....Well, If Jay retires, I think He wld be still be composing songz and all and training some young kid....Read somewhere he wld go train some young new talents if he retirees cos he cannot still be jumping around on stage so much at 30+++!
haha....If he ever gives music lessons, I think i will sign up!!!definitely!!!!i'll beg my mama to let me take lessons from him.....but i think if he ever teaches me, I will be too nervous to do anything...My heart will probaly be beating 22 fast and i will get cold feet and hands cos i will be 222 nervous!!!!!!!!!!haha......and i will be v scared of him 22222.......cos He seems like a "fierce" teacher to me.....even though he is awwwwwfullllly cute and sweeet!haha.....

goodness gracious it's not time to start thinking about this...he practically just started his singing career and is at the pinnacle of it, but who knows, he just might get even more popular and break through the asian markets and become a phenomenal world-wide star...just like he said he wanted to become influential and let others know that Chinese music can be just as good as "Western" music...gosh he's got the drives.

I really unable to answer this question, since I dearly hope that it would never happen. And if it happen, then.....hikz **tears almost rolled down my cheek**

Oh well, he's still 24. SInce he got that darn great talents in music, I believe his moments would still be at least a couple of decades long. (At least that's what I wish. I just can't imagine not being able to hear anymore of Jay's new songs). Guess I really am addicted to his music. ;>

04-27-2003, 07:34 PM
I will be very sad the day that Jay retires. He's such a wonderful artist and he's so incredibly talented. The day he leaves the music business will be a very sad day indeed. I hope that that day doesn't come for awhile yet. He's only 24. Surely, he still has awhile to go before he accomplishes all his goals!

But, I have to agree with En-En. I think he over works way too much. He really should take a vacation every year to just have time to be himself and relax. Get away from all the chaos and super stardom that he is experiencing. I would support him in that decision.

But then... Sometimes, we have to remember that music is at the very core of Jay's existance. Music is his life and it's what he loves to do. If he really enjoys what he is doing now, composing music, then I would not want to stop him.

I just hope, whatever he does, he wants to do it, and he enjoys what he's doing.

Hey linny, I fully agree with what you said.

Yeah, who wouldn't be sad if he retires? But I think I'd be old by then. :p
Seriously, I do not really think Jay'll retire... he'll still contirbute to the musical industry in his own special way, and will forever be a legend in our hearts. :)

Hey to all:

It will be really sad if he retires. Hope he still writes/compose for other artist though. He has acgeived so much at such a young age n it must be hard for him, his heavy workload n all....

But tts life, i guess... will hv other artists who will also be impressive although it will be hard for anyone to be as impressive.. :) :)

Lest be fair to him though, he has given so much to his fans he definitely deserves a break..

He did say in the HK interview tt he may consider retiring when he has found his other half so as to spend quality time together.. Anyone tink its true..

If Jay retire : find another Jays!!!

Ok i mean, there's always what you call a regeneration, right? Maybe one of Jay's student ^_*

Jay_8d there can never, never, never, be any replacement for Jay....when you like someone to a certain level you look up to them as your god. No one could ever replace that same feeling...never.

You guys know when I was reading all the posts and thinking of Jay being retired and not see him anymore tears was just dripping down on my face. I can't believe it I'm still tearful now.......this is the first time I ever cry just by reading something like this....Jay have already taken a part of me and that is my loyalty towards him. I don't know but if he retires I'll definately cry for months...when I think of how i get to know him, when i hear his songs, all those time i spend on just thinking of Jay......I don't know but I'll sure be very sad...

I even cry last time when i read the news that his back problem can be so serious but Jay is still doing all these wiring stuffs because he said that if it wasn't for music he'll be just the shy, quiet and the jay that nobody knows....I was really touched. I wouldn't want anything more than Jay to be healthy so if he really retire I'll be very sad but at the same time happy for him.
Jay means so much in my life.

it would be sad, if jay retired from singing. but if he does become a piano teacher, i would love to play the piano, and learn it from him! but then he can still write songs for other younger artists who comes after him.

aww, well, if i become one of his students in piano (even though i quite like my one right now) then i wouldnt mind, but then, i would miss hearing his more and more new inventions cos he always comes with such cool, new interesting songs! i'd rather him not become a piano teacher...unless he does it while he still sings!

Oh well, every plane that takes off and flies to the sky, will land to the land again. His golden era won't last forever and the time would come when Jay would decide that he would retire. I just hope that there would be a young talent who is good enough to 'replace' him. I also hope that he would still become a composer, despite of his retirement from entertainment/music industry. But although his golden era won't last forever, but I'm sure his songs are for eternity just like all the legends, like: Elvis, Beatles and Michael Jackson, whose songs still can be heard until today. :)

Ofcourse i'll love it if he was to be my piano teacher! I'll, ummm....what word should I use...yea I know, I'll ditch *cough* *cough* (sorry piano teacher) my piano teacher...I didn't mean it you know, Its just that if Jay WAS to become my teacher, I'll do anything to take his lessons and pratice the songs he give me day and night! But maybe stare at him and drool through most of the piano lesson hehe

yajjay
02-21-2004, 06:14 AM
I will miss Jay terribly if he ever retires now.. We will see less of him on the media and maybe won't get to hear his new songs.. He might be writing songs for others but it won't be the same as him singing.. Can't hear his soothing voice.. But looking at his persistent character, he might want to be like lou da you.. still in the industry at this age.. coming out occasionally, holding concerts etc..

If he retires and decides to be a piano teacher, i don't think i'll get to be in his class... He said before he likes to teach young kids.. as in maybe those really young ones.. 5, 6 years old? Maybe he feels less shy if he teaches young kids because we will only drool at him throughout the lesson

wackome
02-21-2004, 07:55 AM
hey! yajjay...even if we don't get to be in his class it's ok!! maybe our kids can go right?? wait...if we have kids that means we will have husbands..so that means we can't cheat and drool on him!! darn..!! damn....oh.. i know!! maybe my sister or brother's kids can go...then i can take them there and drool on jay. YES that's it!! even if jay doesn't compose anymore..i would still want to hear him sing..which is unlikely..but he sings good in any song...better than original singers...cuz he voice is too nice. he sounds good singing anything.

IF Jielun retires, he'll be a piano teacher. Then I'll take his piano lessons. (: That would make me his junior. Isnt that nice ?

But really, I'll get really upset. It would be a lost to the Celebrity Circle.

But Im sure, Jielun's not retiring anytime soon. If we continue supporting him, that's it. AND WE WILL. (:

if jay retires.. he's gonna be a piano teacher right? i think it will be great if he retires! :excited: (though not soon i hope:oops: )... since i'm a frustrated pianist, i'm definitely going to ask him to teach me! i think it will be easier for us to see him if he's a piano teacher cos there'll be no paparazzi and it will be a one on one session with him.. hehehe...:shifty:

If he retires, I'll be very very sad.
However, no matter what, I'll respect he's decision,
It's up to him but I continue supporting him and listening to his songs.

I think that Jay should preferable continue to make music until 35, or maybe 40... After that, he can open his own music studio... or recording studio.. but then again that makes no sense...

well, i personally do not support the idea of retirement, i feel that retiring makes you a super slouch and leech dependent on others... well, in Jay's case, he is rich, so he'll probably be holidaying all the way in his retirement...

i don't see any reason for him to retire.. especially at a tender age of only 26 years old... I think he probably enjoys the work that he does now.. It's an absolute joy to be able to make music and find inspiration to do so.. since that is his passion...

I wouldn't agree that the loss would be about losing fame, success, fans and such... It would be losing his passion, his style, his lifestyle.. style as in the way he is and lifestyle as in how he works hard to find music inspiration, style and lifestyle are different..

some would suggest him being a piano teacher, but that would not be quite right because i think his talent is in or lies in composition of songs and singing.. he also is not the best of piano players, he is just probably grade 8 and such.. but.. music teachers or piano teachers in this case would tend to be more specialized in piano only..

I don't think Jay has any plans of retiring any time soon. It's not easy to make it big in the music biz and as Jay has managed to do so, he definitely won't let go easily. Plus, making music is his passion.
But of course, everybody retires. So if and when Jay should do so, I'll wish him a happy retirement and hope he has a happy and peaceful life. Sure we'll all be sad and stuff but he deserves to reap the rewards which he's worked hard for. I'm sure he won't retire without giving fans a big bang tour concert plus greatest hits CDs and loads of goodies to remember him by.
He'll probably have more time too for other stuff like acting and producing or composing songs. So it's not an entirely bad thing.

lmao he's probably gonna be richer than he is right now because everyone wants him to be his piano teacher hahaha
hmm... of course i don't want him to retire >.<
if he really does...
i won't see him as much on tv anymore ='(

I'll feel very sad once Jay retires. I don't want him to, but then everyone's career has to end one day in some way or other. I just wish Jay would be very happy and get a nice retirement!! At least Jay will be under a lot less of media attention once he retires.

I just hope the day doesn't come so soon.

Guchii_babe, we are not thinking that Jay is retiring - yet. This is just a 'what if' sort of discussion thread.

i agree with pucca girl..i am very afraid of day that jay retire imagine no more new song from him....after a long time most of the people will forget about him
it will be fine if he teach younger people how to sing and he compose song for them...make the younger people famous
people will still remember jay as he compose the song

Then we try and kill ourselves again and again until Jay dies and comes to Heaven..
Then we all selabrate and make him sing instead of those F@$King angels..

^ woah haha intense!

haha well i think he would have to retire sooner or later. i mean, he can't be living in the limelight and be scruntinized by the media forever, right? he has his own life outside the entertainment.

i would be happy for him when he decides to retire! he would have earned enough money for him to retire a few times haha

Someone didn't take their pills. LOL

Anyway, I really see no use looking into the future. We should dwell and appreciate the present.

I mean retiring is inevitable, it's the same thing as asking...what if Jay dies? Obviously he's going to die one day.

If Jay retires and becomes a piano teacher....... would u go?
Do u think he will be very shy? Not say much?

I think it's a bit early for him to retire from music. I'd be pretty bummed. I mean I guess if he retired from music he could still so other things like act, but honestly I like his music a LOT better than his acting haha.

Tuh Noo way! I don't see Jay slowing down anytime soon. I mean he's just way to ambitious and motivated for that. He has SO much more to do. He siad that music is his life right? You don't just stop living life!!!! Although...of course someday he will retire eventually doi but his music will live on foreverforeverFOREVER! in the way it has impacted all of us. PLUS, I'm going to name my sun Jie Lun so he literally[/B] lives on too. :D

If he becomes a piano teacher, I wish I can be one of his students! hahas

Yeah but I think Jay's got a looong way to go. N I read from somewhere, he said he'll only think of retiring when he reaches 40-50 or something like that. Plus with his busy schedule now, he even don't have time to think bout himself...

i'll be sad because he's pretty much the only talented singer,

if jay does retire, i think he deserves it... he's worked so hard in the past years. we'll miss him, but even if he does retire, i don't think he'll completely disappear from the public eye... and so we'll probably still see him from time to time. Besides, i don't think he will ever retire completely. he'll still be making music like he used to (i bet he just won't be able to help it) though in the background only...

i'd be lifeless for about a day. then i'd be in a state of shock.

nah, just kidding, i'll probably be really surprised and panic cos there are no other songs as good as his. lol!

i'd replay his songs at least every 2 days. until i get sick of them. which i wont :D

Jay would be dearly missed by me so much. I would really miss his great talent and abilities. But he did mention that he wants to retire, and just concentrate in the background on producing music talents and music for others. I agree with him. Sometimes you outgrow things and want to move onto new and better things. By retiring I do believe this will give him a chance to really concentrate on his health, family, and raising the children that he wants so badly. Being in the business can be a challenge for some. That is why I believe that many do leave the business in order to give full attention to the more important things in life. Your family.

I'd start to cry if he retires anytime soon. Giving up
fame and success, and lots of fans. He's an idol,
it'd be so disappointing if he stopped singing. He
would waste such a wonderful talent!

Well, retirement is inevitable, it's gonna happen sooner or later

Retiring doesn't necessarily mean he's "giving up fame and success" as you put it, it just means that he won't be producing anymore albums. He'll just be taking the natural path every normal person takes when they grow older. Also, as people age, the quality of their work tends to change a bit, so it's only natural...

Anyways I'm sure he'll come on every now and then on talk shows/ interviews. If not, we can all stalk him down =P

Although he won't be making any new music, he'll always be remembered <3
