Um sorry for such an uncreative unoriginal title. ^_^
But anyway, I've heard a lot about the group Blue through this forum and people are always saying how they should collaborate with Jay etc. And I love the song they did w/ Elva "You Make Me Wanna".
So just wondering if you guys can give me the lowdown of who they are, if you like them, and maybe some pictures too. Thanks!

hmmm...blue are alrite...tho when they first came out...i didn't like them becos they did a cover of this oldish (not very old) song ...too close
it was originally done by a black rnb group Next (i think it was that) and blue didn't change it at all. i mean, it sounded exactly the same, they didn't put their own sound on it (if u know what i mean)
but then all rise came out...and i love that....
btw they don't call them selves a boy band....they're a "lad band" hahaha.....anyways
i don't really know that much about them
i think their names are Lee, Duncan, Simon and oh oh....i can't remmeber the last one...so sorry....hold on...let me look it up...antony....

their second album "one love" just came out and they´ve already released couple of singles in uk and europe.. i´ve heard few of of their songs from the new album and they´re okay, the collaboration with elton john is pretty good :)

Try downloading BEST IN ME by them... it's really nice!! and.. SORRY SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST WORD!! i highly recommend those 2 songs... and another song ONE LOVE, which is quite catchy...
They are coming down to SG for concert, who's going... take some pix... esp. of Simon... is tht the name of the best looking guy??

oh yeah, duncan is FIIIINE... i like sorry seems to be the hardest word, too. at first i thought i was weird cuz elton john was in it, but now it´s actually pretty good. and one love is good, too. blue performed it at mtv 2003 asia awards, but who the heck were the two girls that sang with them? ella and.... dont remember the other ones name... anyway i didnt like them much, i seemed to me that they were just hangin around the stage, couldnt even hear them singing :rock:

Many of their songs are great, and they are very hot right now in Europe, especially with their song Sorry seems to be the hardest world with Elton John. They just released their new single You make me wanna, without Elva of course (the one with Elva is better). They are coming to the TMF Awards (an award show in Holland) and I'm going to see them!!!!! :) I believe they're not very famous in the US or Canada, are they? They are famous in Asia.

i have both of their albums and i love them.
i actually watched the Mtv Asia Awards just for Blue.
but then i fell in love with Jay and Tony from JTL!

Awhile ago I d/l this MV called Shine, Cookies - One Love... And I didnt get to watch it til now and I just realized BLUE is in it although I cant really recognize COokies but I think Shine is in it too. THe video is actually pretty.. The artist set in the studio recording the song but I dont think BLUE, Shine or Cookies were ever together in one shot. Have anyone seen the MV?

I used to be a fan, i loved All rise! I have their first album....but ever since i started listening to Jay and chinese music...i dont like them that much. My friends are still fans..their concert was huge when it came to Newcastle.
Lee's kinda contraversial! He was famously quoted saying, "Who cares about September 11 when whales are dying around the world" and he even admitted that he likes to wet the bed to warm it up! But recently he was banned from driving a couple of weeks after passing the exam for cutting a police car when drunk. Personally, i think hes a bit of an idiot!
There was also big news when Simon admitted having a secret daughter...

Thats exactly what my friends thought when they found out! Hes a really good singer, and his voice is nice, but he seems a bit weird!
I showed my friends the MTV Asia clip of Jay winning the Best Taiwanese artist award, cos it was announced by Blue, (and to promote Jay at the same time…hehe) and they were pretty impressed by the compliments they gave him!

but he was fined because he drunk-drive, it may teach him a lesson...
blue is real cool in my opinion. there was a free concert here last year and me and my friends went to watch it. they were hosts of it and they were so funny! and they are real good at singing live.

But there was a court case about an old band (the singers are now 60 or summat) who are also called Blue. They were suing the new Blue cos they nicked their name, claiming they had planned to release a new album as Blue, but cant anymore. :oops: ...i cant remember who won the case though. I suppose Blue would have been made to change their name if they lost....like how Liberty became Liberty X.

Duncans the new face of Burtons. (i think its called Burtons) They also designed the suits the England Squad wears when they are on international duty.
Its a clothes shop which is traditonally for fathers and old men but they want a new cooler image...so they signed Duncan! So therell be plenty of pictures of him wearing suits etc for youse...hehe..... :laughing:

A recent English gossip magazine said that Blue were gonna kick Lee out!! :glug: cos of the way hes been behaving...drink-driving etc. Its not good for their image.

I know hehe...at first i thought it was a good idea cos Lee is a bad influence on the kids who worship them....but then i realised how bad Blue would be without Lee. They would be like an average boyband. Cos Lees voice really makes it special. Hopefully the threat would kick some sense into him. :?

Hes been photographed drunk outside clubs loads and has been charged with drink driving a couple of times despite only getting his license a month ago...:dry:
Its a shame cos he is so popular and has a great voice. In an interview i watched last week, Blue were on and it was obvious that Lee was the fans favourite. Duncan let slip that as a joke, they agreed to Elton John that they would give him Lee for their duet hehe.... :laughing:

Lee got into some trouble just a couple of days ago..he was spotted on CCTV with two girls in a hotel jacuzzi... :oops:
And i dunno about their recent releases sorry...I was in my friends car and she was playing one of their albums. it wasnt all rise, cos i have that...but it had elton johns song in it...and you make me wanna. The songs werent bad, but one thing i dislike about all boybands are the way their lyrics are kind of graphic:oops: ..and the only theme they have is love.

i used to like Blue when they first came out, but then they became so overrated, and so overplayed here that everybody just kinda got sick of them. but i have to admit that their new song is absolutely gorgeous :D and about lee having paparazzi problems, i guess it's normal, them being British. British paparazzi is one of the worst i think. just my opinion

yeah, i agree. they've improved alot really.
guilty is written by lee, not duncan. he wrote it with gary barlow, a former take that member.

Thanks! I had the time and felt like sharing so i uploaded the songs from Blue's first album here (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7512). I hadnt listened to then for a while and realised that a couple of their songs were indeed very good. Download a couple and see what you think!

Elva just did their own version of the song and I have to say that Blue's version is better by miles. I don't think a song should be done in two languages...it sounds very wierd and wrong.

okay, I never knew about Blue until now, reading this topic, though i think last week watching this taiwanese show, called big brother or something like it, Blue performed, and that was like my first time knowing who Blue is, and they kinda remind me of the backstreet boys, well by their looks, cuz two of them remind me of brian and aj from the backstreet boys. but still Blue seem pretty good to me. :wink2:

Let's get one thing straight, I do practice what I preach. I'd be a hypocrite otherwise.
I agree with you about being able to have your own opinion but there are times when we have to keep it to ourselves. If you attack other people's opinions, then naturally, you're gonna get back as good as you dish out.
Sure, I don't like many bands around but I respect the fact that other people would like them. If I don't like a band, I won't diss them to their fans cause I know how it feels to have that happen to me. I feel irritated, no other word for it. So like I said, I just leave it alone.

Powerless Angel, "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" is written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Actually, Elton first made his own version of the song then he collaborated with Blue for their version.
I find it really surprising that you like this song and yet you don't like their other ballads. Personally, I don't think "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" is their most powerful ballad. Don't you like "If You Come Back", "Guilty" or "Breathe Easy"?
"Breathe Easy" leaves me in awe everytime after I listen to it. That's what I call very moving and powerful.

i am not familiar with blue's song.....i am more familiar with their songs that were released as singles so i haven't hear " breathe easy".....yeah guess we both have different taste but hey we have one commen taste.....getting what i mean.....anyway,do u noe that i met blue last year..it was accidentally...last year after the mtv asia award, i was waiting beside the road for my friends who had been inside the toilet for thirty minutes already...i was already frustrated then suddenly a car stop beside me.turning my head,i caught the eye of lee....it was for five seconds we held our gaze be fore i scrowl at him and walked away .i was already so damn angry at my friends and then blue have to come along and appear right infront of me...was that evil of me..i was really pissed at my friends.....

Oh, I heard two of David Tao's songs - 'Jing Tian mei Hui Jia' and 'Liu Sha'. I liked the first one a lot but I didn't really like the second one. He has a very nice voice though...very smooth, gentle and young. Funny huh, how he sounds younger than his age?

I think that singers who write songs deserve every inch of respect but most of all, singers that write songs and sings it with all their heart deserves an standing ovation......This is one reason why i like David tao...Do u know that i was on the verge on my tears when i first listened to dave's songs.... It was really really touching.....everything about him was...Every inch of him is made up of genuine sincerity...It is nice to know u have listen to his songs......i strongly recommend his album " Ultrasound"....u wunt be disappointed....

Music is what makes us happy, what touches a deeper part of us and what we can relate to, no matter what we're feeling, cause it's so diverse. The fact that David Tao can make you cry - or almost cry - just from his songs means you are also a lover of good music like I am. Seriously, I don't know what I'd do if we couldn't listen to music. It's the first thing I turn on when I wake up and I fall asleep to it at night. The world would be so boring and bleak without music, don't you think?

so so so sorry for the late reply......i have been busy with my mid-year exams......this is my o level year and i am so damn scared..........u noe sha, i would give anything to be 13, 14,15. anything except 16......it really sucks to be one.......i cant imagine what it is going to be in years to come.wel, maturity is high price to pay for growing up after all.

I think blue is actually more of a R&B group rather than a pop group, if you listen more to the other of the songs on their albums, so i think so of the songs could very well have been sung by jay :)

I think we all feel so insignificant sometimes, like such a tiny particle in this world but you'll get past it. I still feel like that nowadays. But I try not to worry about the past or the future - concentrate on the present. It might seem like your future is uncertain now but whatever happens, it'll be how it's supposed to happen. So if you don't get what you expect, don't worry about it because you might get something better in return. I felt really freaked out when my results at the end of year 12 came out but I'm happy where I am now. I think it's hilarious that I find this whole topic dedicated to Blue, on a Jay Chou forum. :) But quite cool. I like Blue a lot, but it's hard to find stuff on them, being an American. I really want to hear Guilty. Anyone have a mp3 they can post? I don't have anything off that album.
But yeah, Lee! He's got the sweetest voice in the world. He has my favorite kind of voice, and he's one of my favorite singers. I dunno about Blue as a whole group though. They're okay. I think I only really like Lee. :)

You definitely need to buy it, I recommend it alot - and "Guilty" is awesome. Lee does an awesome job in that song.
Yeah, Lee's also my favorite member of the group but they wouldn't be the same if it was just him...like, Simon wouldn't be there to rap and I also like Antony's voice too. Duncan's just cute :)

so back to blue: i heard that they are seperating for a while. seems like blue wants to continue singing, simon want to manage new bands, duncan wants to become an actor( there is a high chance he might succeed) an anthony wants to star in some drama serial.......well ,everyone has his or her own destination to walk and one must find it. i guess members of blue have high ambitions and dreams than just being an band.......well wish them luck..., hope they can fulfill every desire of theirs..........

Well kinda iritate me cos actually they've already planned to have a concert in my country Indonesia from last year and i've already got the tix..but then they cancelled it because Lee's injury..remember?? :shifty: and then they scheduled another concert..and this time they cancelled it because of SARS!! Gosh..hate it. I think their fans here kinda hate them now cos they never keep their promises..but still i like their songs..

I know how you feel about feeling out of place amongst your fellow students, I got that too in High School, especially the guys. But girls tend to be better in that aspect. But yes, I think you are very mature...and I don't know you that well. But it's a good thing.
Water Lily: Understandable that you'd be annoyed with them for cancelling but don't you think it's also understandable cause of SARS? I mean they were just taking precautions - I myself wouldn't deliberately go somewhere where I'd be at risk. But at least they've wanted to go to your country for a concert :happy: they're not popular enough over here.

I prefer orlando as legolas that his role in the movie troy cause the latter made him look very sissy when he looked much more better and hunkier in lord of the rings.....i remembered once when our school was showing the movie, lord of the rings to students, the moment orlando came on the screen, there was a sudden gasp among the female students. Soon they were getting execited about him and there was buzzing everywhere......u see the effect he has on ladies. :rolleyes:
There are boys that are very egoisitic and very selfish that i cant go along well. If there is one thing i dislike in a person is his or her selfisness. u wont find me hanging out with these people because they really take the piss out of me......There are on the other hands boys that i can go extremely well because they are not selfish and the fact that they are not selfish allows me to show my good and cheery side to them unlike the selfish boys to whom i don't nor do i want to show my real side...... :bleh:

Water Lily: I'm in Australia. And while I love the country itself, not many bands come to Perth for concerts. And the fact that Blue aren't very big here doesn't help matters any. They were popular for a while, around the time their 1st album came out, especially with "All Rise" and "Too Close" but then they sorta disappeared around "If You Come Back". Sigh...what can I do? But now that they're splitting up, I doubt you'll get to see them as a group - sorry girl, I feel for you :wink2:
Lala: If it had've been 2 years ago, maybe I would've been upset about their splitting up but I'm a different person now. I've seen Backstreet, WestLife, A1, 5ive and God knows how many other bands split up and I realise that it's inevitable. It's gotta happen sometime and for Blue, it's now. I am a huge fan but not to the fact that I'll cry or scream if they break up - life still goes on.
I agree with you about Orlando's role as Paris...but he did look hot...and his character was weak so that's how he had to portray it. Ah well. Yeah, I've got a Legolas poster in my room and it's absolutely divine...
I think guys are extremely annoying around the 15-18 age. My brother used to piss me off something chronic but once he turned 19, he was a different person. He's 24 now and the best brother a girl could have. I'm sure your experience with guys will improve but they're seriously not worth it in High School. Even in uni they're still abit moronic :happy:

I do agree that life goes on even after the break-up of the blue......touching on the topic of boybands i am just wondering how fans would react if 5566 breaks up. i know i would be damned happy but i wonder how fans would react......I mean i see these girl following them like a heads and tails, only that the latter refers to the fans.....it scares me how much they devote themselves to 5 bunch of guys..... :wacko:

i am not really sure whether i am indeed coming to australia. Lala, about the discrimination, yes, it does happen here but I think it's like that in most countries. I've only ever had it once in High School (and I was 1 of the 3 Asian people in the whole school) but it doesn't bother me cause you can spot those kinda people so I just avoid them. Since then, it's only happened once or twice but I don't let it bother me. But this shouldn't make you worried Lala...all countries are like this and I think America would be worse in terms of rascism. Most Australians are very friendly and laidback - most of my friends in High School were Australian - I only had 2 Asian friends.
So yeah, don't worry about it so much, I love Australia :thumbsup:

yeah, it was rather insulting and humilating to hear him say that.....i couldn't blast him for saying that....he is like 30 years older than me and even if i did stood up to him, he would go to my father and complain and my father would in turn blast me for that :wacko: ...lets just say that people of my race are really really good at complaning and gossiping.
If truth be told, i am not that worried about dicrimination .....even discrimination is widely practicsed in america or aus.....,i would still go there....just to show that asians are no push-over... :oops:
I need to ask for your opinion on something....you see...my principal has this habit of forcing students......as in she force students to take up courses....she forces us to her level of standard....she gives us so much stress and keep on telling us " you can do it"....so once she again force students to take up this english course.....I was so fed up with her forcing upon us and making decisions for us.....that i went to her office and told her that i don't want to be forced upon something and that it will do me no benefits.....she replied that i was being unappreactive and has attitude problem :-x .....This woman is mad!!!!!!!! : :bleh: Do you think that i did the right thing by standing up to her...sometimes i feel like i do, sometimes i don't.....she is the principal after all, a bad one at that....god bless her

I think that you did do the right thing about your principal. No-one should be forced to do things they don't want to do, especially when it comes to education. You should do what you want and take courses that satisfy your interests and where you want to go in life. Don't feel bad for standing up for yourself. Even if she is the principal, it doesn't mean it's right for her to do that. Do what you want, when you want to do it, follow your heart and your ambitions and don't let anyone dictate to you what you should do. You can do it Lala - and there's no need to feel bad.

You know what.....my principal is really really an bitch :crazy: ......i mean, she is making our life a hell........no prom night, no teacher's celebration, no celebration at all........her intention for us is to study study study until we drop.........oh yeah, do you know what her condition were if there was to be a prom night????We have to do well for our prelims: everymorning, she must see dozens of student studying in the canteen.....everyafternoon, while she goes home, again she must see a lot of students studying in the canteen......If any teacher complain about our behaviour, then sorry no prom night......blah blah blah........her conditions are just a pathetic as her :rasp: ........we weren't even given a half days off during teacher's day celebratin even when all the sec 4 classes wrote a petition....her reason? She feared that we would lose our momentary touch........god knows what she is talking about?????? This is my last year in my school and she is ruining it all........ :-x

You principal is a B.I.T.C.H. No doubts about it. Man, if I had a principal like that, I'd get my parents to come in and complain. That's not right - your last year in high school should be special and you definitely deserve the prom - even if you don't do well in your prelims. I feel for you hon. Take it the best way you can and if you can get around it, try your best in your prelims, that's all people can expect of you. If you try your best but still fail or don't do as well as everyone hopes, it's still ok cause you gave it your all.

I have to disagree with you on too many girls screaming in concerts and you cant hear a thing.......I remember when i went to david tao's soul power concert....i came out awed. :glug: ....his voice , do i dare say, sounded much more better live.....and yes, although there were girls screaming their head off ( i admit i was one of them), it was the spirit and soul of david music that ruled it all that night....in fact, all of the aduience were singing along to every song of his......gave me goosebumps..... :D
It is definately a pity that i have this principal.....and it is much more pity that i can't have fond memories of the school...but it is all right :rolleyes: ....memories of friends, classmates, teachers are all it matters.........i have only four months left in singapore, somehow memories are all of what will remind me of my past, my childhood......It is weird.....i grew up in singapore, lived here all my life and now i have to move on..... :angel:

Ya know what, it's good that you do have memories of Singapore...good ones I mean. And I hope they can make you feel better when you feel lost or when you're missing your friends back at home.
I know it's hard to leave people behind and something that you've known all your life but it's good that you have such a mature view of it all. Nothing lasts forever and change is inevitable...but that doesn't mean it's not good or necessary. You'll experience more things and make more friends I'm sure.
And who knows? If you come to Perth, I might even see you in the street one day! Wow...but we wouldn't know it... :D

sha, sorry for the late reply.........i have been busy with my prelims exams and after my disappointing mid year exams,i really really want to do well for this exam....
yeah, i guess everyone has different view on concerts. :rolleyes: .......i think this view differs because of our support towards the artist.....let's just say, three months ago, i was just a normal fan of david and liked his music...if u have asked me then whether i would be going to his concert,i would have said waste of money :wave: .....but now after getting to know him as a person and his unselfish ambition,i would have given anything to see him...am i being contradictory... :?
if truth be told, i will miss singapore........but honestly i am very execited to be going overseas.....i feel like singapore is a place where it doesn't allow space for a person to grow...like explore a person's talent......i feel like singapore is constricted country...although a very safe one at that......i would really like to experience a different environment....hey, yeah, we might see each other in perth.....if i am going there, i hope we can meet up one day....it has been a joy talking to you :-)

No, you're not being contradictory. Opinions change and so do people. I think that's one of the best ways to like an artist, to develop respect for them slowly and over time. That way, you like them for who they are as a person and an artist and you respect their talent and their music. Instead of falling in love with them straightaway because of the way they look or whatever.
I am happy for you..that you are excited about going overseas. You'll have to keep me informed about your plans so if you do come over, maybe we can swap emails...and we still can even if you go somewhere different. It's been fun talking to you too hon. finally got back my prelims exams.....overally, i am quite happy with my grades so are my parents....Guess what!!!!!! my bitchy principal have decided to do a prom night...isn't it a suprise...well, we were having our so call graduating ceremony when she announched that there will be a prom night much to my delight.....i swear this is the first time i love my principal.......anyway, have you ever been to a prom night before....how is it like???
I am glad that i like david tao for his passion for music, for the person he is and his music....there are girls out there that support a band just becuase they like them or because their so call idol have done a great drama serial(aka 5566) and thus have caught their attention. i mean, i ask girls who support 5566, why they like them.....first reason they always give is that they are handsome :worry: ....guess this is chinese music industry...once david tao said " chinese musicans only knows how to talk about music but they don't know how to make one" :bleh:

Yep, I went to my Year 12 Ball two years ago...and it was GREAT! have now gone solo,pursuing their own careers. :worry:

Anyway, out of all the Blue members, it seems like only Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe have successful careers while Antony Costa is lagging far, far behind. He's only released 1 song: Do You Ever Think Of Me? While Lee, Simon and Dunk have full length albums namely Lee Ryan, Sanctuary and Future Past respectively. Lee and Simon's solo albums are good, while Duncan's Future Past isn't so. :worry:
