Like jes! said this is a mix of drama, romance and action.
Let me start the spoilers...but i'm not watching from the beginning so sorry because this is all i can tell you guys... :wink2: so anyone who has watched the show and wants to tell the story, please feel free to correct me..
There are 3 friends:A Hao,Shan Zi,A Chi. A Hao had a girlfriend name Xiao Yan Zi.
one day Xiao Yan Zi saw a group of kindergarten kids whose singing joyfully with their teacher played the piano..A Hao found out about this but he's very poor(he worked as a construction worker) so he decided to go on a motor racing to buy her a piano...but he was disturbed by A Pao who is in a mafia.
And i'm kinda missed watching this part :bleh:..when i watched, the three of them have become in the mafia too.. :D At first Xiao Yan Zi disagree A Hao was in the mafia but she can't forbid him...and she even tries to change her personality from a "good girl" to a "mafia girl" :angel:
the three of them was rising very fast in the mafia society and this makes A Pao very jealous..So one day when A Hao and friends was going to Karaoke together, Xiao Yan Zi wanted to know how A Hao and friends "go to work". And this lead to major problems!!Xiao Yan Zi was attacked and A Hao was very furious because Xiao Yan Zi didn't obey him.But Shan Zi stands up and defend her :excited: so they kinda "split up" to calm theirselves.A Pao sees this as an opporturnity and send some guys to harm Xiao Yan Zi.A Hao was very drunk so he didn't know anything that was happening.Shan Zi go to save her but it's too late. Xiao Yan Zi was raped but she refuses to tell A Hao the truth.Shan Zi was very furious and he killed the man who raped Xiao Yan Zi.This makes him sentenced to 7 years in jail.
4 Years have passed, and everybody have changed.Xiao Yan Zi have become a tough girl and A Hao have become one of the leaders in the mafia.Shan Zi was released from jail because his permission to get back to school was granted.So what happened next??

I agree on that. Lan Zheng Long (playing Shan Zi) is really droolsome! I first saw him in the first series of meteor gardens (as the guy who's the fake DMS cousin) and thought nothing of him... but in this show, he's so :love:

I watched this show because of the good reviews, but to tell the truth, it didn't do much for me. I don't know what it is about it, but it seems in the end, I don't really care for any of the characters. None of them stood out much, kinda one-dimensional and stereotypical. I don't really understand the relationship between Xiao yan zi and Yu hao, don't see the connection. The story is more situation driven than characters. It's overall quite depressing. It's still fun to watch, but I wouldn't watch it a second time.

i do agree that the story is more situation driven... cept for the fact that shan zi looks hot... but i mean... you don't really grow attached to the characters... although there are some pretty sad parts... i dont find myself really crying with them or anything... : /

but i still liked it... i'd watch it again... :D

I love the series. I'm actually quite late in watching it. It's the last two weeks here on our cable but still I'm fascinated with the story. Thanks to lene and newg, eventhough it's in Chinese they find time to translate the important parts. :hugz:

I agree that Blue (Lan Zhen Long) is hot on this one. :love: Yu hao is good looking too.

We're not actually 2 episodes to the last one.

I heard there's a Dou Yu 2, is it true?

At first when i saw Blue in Meteor Garden i don't really like him and i didn't really caught my attention but in "Dou YU" its really.. :drool: He have those very expensive eyes its a eyes every girl wants!! :excited:

i've just started watching the show and i'm at about episode 8...
i had no idea that it's based on a real story! i realisedthat the style of 'the outsiders' is very different from the rest of the dramas i watch (eg. meteor garden, love storm, dolphin bay, etc.) i've read merriana's spoilers and i think the ending is gonna be depressing! lemme add more spoilers...here's the beginning of the story...

the show starts off when everyone were still kids. one of the 3 friends (i forgot who) was bullied, so the other two decided to make friends with him. they became best buddies. they always pass by a rich girl's house and yu hao always looks into the house and see xiao yan zi playing the piano.
they grew up and went to high school. yu hao, shan zi and ah qi are the bad boys in school and always get into trouble/fight. one day yu hao was heavily beaten and was saved by xiao yan zi who happened to pass by... this started a love story between a homely girl and sly guy!
(i'll skip some bits) xiao yan zi elopes with yu hao away from her parents....that takes you to the next bit in merriana's post...

Yes!!! I'm finally watching it!!! Oh no!! the spoilers!!! erm, just saw a bit..
anyways, I'm at episode 3... what's funny to me is that it acts like a 80ish movie type script. Yes..the storyline's a bit oldish..but I still like it... :) especially when how two people in their different worlds come to understand each other's lifestyle and character..I would say.. Yu Hao's character is interesting.. can't wait to watch more of it!!! :excited:

It was one beautiful series. We were discussing it, indeed it was bound to end that way. What I really curious about is the part 2...

What will be the plot? :? After all those dramas that happened in the first one.

I don't know the story, but I think that main guy from the first, one, Iron Guo is it? And Jay's friend Xiao Zhu (I just recently saw a pic of him for the first time and he's cute!! :love: ) will be starring in it. I suppose it will be a different story otherwise there will be resurrecting from the dead happening? :glug: But the idea of his son does sound ok except for the huge time gap.

Even though I didn't appreciate it as much as the rest of you, I'd watch it just to see Xiao Zhu. :laughing:

I'm currently watching this series right now, and will be finish the series tonight, but since I read about how the series is all going to end. It's kind of depressing, Ady is truly pretty in this series at first she was just cute and adorable, but then after she got involve into Irons's lifestyle. She changed a lot, I adore all the hats she wore after Blue went to the prison. LOLZ

I dislike the Mainland girl, I don't know what her name is, but her character is annoying and she's one of those many reason that lead to Irons's death. Anyways, the English song you're talking about panda_shine, does it start out like this, "All these precious moments. With you by my side. Must be a gift from heaven. That's holding me all night."?

If it is then the song title is call, "Till The End", if not then is probably "Bed Time Story". I don't know the singer who sing it, but he sing quite numerous songs on the soundtrack, English and Chinese.

I watched "Dou Yu" during the last couple of weeks it was aired on CETV on cable.
I fell in love with the story! :love: I really admire the friendship that the three guys plus Xiao Yan Zi and Hong Dou share. I just didn't expect the series to be really sad towards the end though :cry: Despite the sad ending, "Dou Yu" is still a must-see :thumbsup: of course it's a wonderful bonus that three of the male leads are really hot! :bleh: the soundtrack's really good too!

I read earlier in this thread that it was actually based on a true story? It was based on a Japanese anime right?

I sure won't miss the sequel :happy:

lene, the story is based on a true story but not from Jap Anime. IT's based on a true Taiwanese story, where an online author wrote out the real experience of her friend.

The real person is still very young, if not mistaken, she is only on her early twenties.. something about jay's age I guess.

I really loved this series...who wouldn't it had 3 totally droolable guys in it^^
I actually really liked Ah Qi and HongDou because...they were just soo good together...and i thought Ah Qi's pretty hot in it..the way he talked was weird to me at first...but then later i totally adored it..^^
He's also in the MV of FIR's Our Love...i love that song and i Love that MV...totally cool

One of the things this series made me realise is that hats look especially good on girls with LONG WAVY HAIR...how hot was she when she became tough man!! like before she was just pretty...but lalter she became HOT^^

I finally got to watch this series because everyone keeps talking about it.. and now I finally have an opportunity to watch it. I just finished watching the first episode, and it was sooo good and sweet. I was just like awwww :angel:. In the beginning, before I watched it, my friend kept telling me how hot Dylan (Hong Dou?) is... and I didn't really think he was THAT hot..until now. But I really like the other guy too (the one with short hair) though the long hair guy isn't bad looking... and Xiao Yan Zi is so sweet :happy: :angel:

This might offend alot of people, but I personally didn't like the series much. There's alot of plot holes, and it's interesting how the main character actually has income from just fighting. Aside from that, their acting wasn't very good either, it got progressively better towards the end, but I would only give the movie a average rating. Just my personal opinion though.

I finally finished watching the series. i've lost some tears from it, i must say! i kinda dragged on for quite long because i didn't really want to continue watching it. the story had more and more fighting and blood i just didn't feel like going on watching. i gotta admit i don't really like the ending. i don't like it that hong dou dies after being beaten up....that was soo sad. and i can't believe yu hao died! one more thing...i thought yu hao and xiao yan zi didn't sleep together(like 2 seperate beds), and i thought she wasn't keen on being intimate...so i was surprised that she was pregnant with yu hao's baby. i think the producers want the ending to be happier, but it doesn't really make sense.

Yeah I agree about Yu Hao + Xiao Yin being pregnant.. I don't think there was even a part when they kissed! (except the begining?) .. so it was kind of a surprise to see her pregnant. And I didn't wished he didn't die either!! It was also very sad when Hong Dou died too because she really deserve to die... and I wished they talk about Xiao Yin and her family as well.

:excited: :excited: Cant believe I miss this thread!!! Haha, currently Dylan is my second idol!! He simply looked so dashing in the Outsiders!!! But I have to admit that his acting still need to improve and his body is a bit out of proportion; its like his body is very big sized but his face is very small and his neck is very long. But overall his face is so handsome!! :rolleyes:

I love the first 5 episodes of Dou Yu, but it gets quite unbearable after that because of the strained relationship between Xiao Yan Zi and Yu Hao and of course the china girl!!! Argghh, really hate that china girl!! The ending was sad too....a bit too violent at the end and it made me feel very sad that things had to be so bad between Xiao Yan Zi and Yu Hao. Anyway, I think Shan Zi (lan zheng long), ah qi and hou dou acted very well in the series! :happy:

By the way, I read from some where that Dou Yu 2 talked about what had happened during the 4 years when Shan Zi was in prison. Its not a continuation of Dou Yu, Yu Hao will not be resurrected in the Dou Yu 2. Basically, it talked about what had happened between Yu Hao and Xiao Yan Zi during the 4 years, why their relationship soured. Xiao Zhu is the main lead in Dou Yu 2, in the show he was a police who became an undercover to expose Yu Hao who was in the Secret Society and later they became friend...Hmmm, I wanted to see a good ending between Xiao Yan Zi and Yu Hao but I guessed this dream wont come true.... :cry:

i finally got my hands on "dou yu"... i've been watching for two days, and i'm already on.. episode 14? i heard so much hype about it, but i found myself getting bored quite a bit. 藍正龍 (lan zheng long; plays shan zi) is suuuuuper though ;) gah i love him. I LOOVE HIM! i keep rooting for xiao yan zi and him, NOT yu hao.

i'm trying not to read your posts; i'm scared they'll reveal too much =P

But nonetheless, I really enjoyed the serious! I've watched series in the past that made me teary but never actually cried out.. and I am excited about Dou Yu 2 as well! :)

I third that opinion. Plus like I said before, other than the fact that Xiao Yanzi and Yu Hao are *supposed* to be together as the plot requires, I don't get why they even like each other. Almost zero development between them. And like cmj said before, I don't like Dylan Kuo's long neck and small face. :glug:

However, I am looking forward to Dou Yu 2 because Xiao Zhu's hot. :D

There's Xiao Zhu but I can't see Lan Zhen Long (Shan Zi) in the picture that was posted quite sometime ago..I think u can scroll back a few pages to see a picture of Dou Yu 2. :) Not sure whether is Xiao Zhu replacing Lan Zhen Long.. *shrug*

Wei Jun, to tell the truth, I've only ever seen Xiao Zhu's pic twice, first time I didn't even know that was Xiao Zhu that's always in Jay articles. Haha, I don't know anything about him except he's got a pretty face. Yes, I'm so shallow. :D

OH you mean that Dylan previously released an album before he becomes famous? So this new album "Wo Bu Shi Wo" is his second album already. Hmmm, I wonder whats the sales for this new album. Yeah I don't think I am going to be as interested in Dou Yu 2 since it seems like lots of characters won't be in it. One of the reason for liking Dou Yu 1 was because of all the characters but now that Dylan isn't going to be in it.. and Blue Lan won't be in it? ..and Red Bean died in the first series.. ehh.. :dry:

viv, honestly.. dou yu is very overrated. dylan's acting sucks, and an yi xuan's acting is okay. the script is pretty bad.. and the plot kind of drags on. but if you are bored with a lot of time on your hands, then maybe you'll like it x]

Hey I think you should tell me your honest critique. I have been craving for Taiwanese dramas lately and the only one the stores seem to have is Dou Yu. They keep trying to sell it to me! and I look at the cover and it's a bunch of nobody actors and I'm like, "they're nobodies! Ew!! Not good looking enough!" And I put it back on the shelf.

Seriously, is it worth the money? What the heck is it supposed to be about anyway.

I gave my opinion on the show way back when the thread first started. I have to agree with babyvx that it's overrated. Actors, on the hotguy-meter was only so-so to me. And that's like 1/2 the purpose of watching the show. Then the plot was ok, characters were not very well developed, more plot driven. It's about guy and girl from opposite sides of the tracks fall in love and run away together. The guy and his friends get involved with gangs and so goes the story of how their lives are affected and how they drift apart. What I didn't get is why they were so in love in the first place. It's like, ok, if you say so. And I agree with kahel, Dylan only has about that one expression.

I love this series. Considering I watched it in Chinese and did not understand a word. :laughing:

it's basically about 3 guys who joined some sort of gang and more or less it was a story of their friendship and loves.

I'm probably the worst person to give a background about the story since I just understood the whole series basing from their actions and a lor of translation help from lene.

But eventhough, Irons or Dylan is not that good of an actor, he's particularly good at acting pissed off which is like his main expression here and Blue's acting was very good too. I thought his hair made him cute on this series too. You should defnitely buy it.

The plot was touching.

i am part of the very small minority. i was staring at the supporting character (lan zheng long) the WHOLE TIME, and not dylan

chun li- my first response was pretty much my honest critique =P the one about dou yu being overrated. the plot seriously didn't touch me at all. you know when you watch GOOD dramas, your heart goes out to the "victim"? and you feel all SAD for them? i didn't feel anything [except for boredom] while watching this. it's NOT worth buying, but i GUESS it's worth renting if you really have nothing else to watch.

this might be touching for other people cuz i'm a total korean drama junkie, so i guess i've become immune to these idol dramas [ou xiang ju]

How come everyone here seems to think that Lan Zheng Long is cuter than Dylan? In Meteor Garden, I thought I thought he looks a little like Takeshi Kaneshiro. But his haircut in this show makes him look like a little boy. Though I think he looks better in this show compared to MG, but he has lost the charisma. With the short hair, he looks just like a passerby on the streets. Those forgettable face.
But Dylan. Oh boy do I find him hot. Ok. So his body is much bigger than his small face and his neck is longer than a giraffe but I think he looks real yummy! Especially with his button down shirt. He's the only reason why I stayed on with this show to the end. If not, I think I would've stopped watching mid-way. And I hate the ending. Not one bit. I hate open endings like these.
So Chun Li, if you want to watch this show, I think it's only watchable because of the cute guys. As the saying goes, do not judge a book by it's cover. I put off buying this show's vcds for at least a few months coz I thought there were no cute guys in this show too from the cover. But in the end, I bought it coz I was bored and I really needed to watch some taiwanese serials. And when Dylan came out, I was like, "Shit! How could I have missed this show for the past few months?" But as I watched on, I got a little bored though I finished the whole series real fast (what to do? I'm a sucker for cute faces!). Like what someone had mentioned, the characters does not pull you in. It's just a forgettable show with plentiful of eye candy.

I agree with Miss_gun that yeah it was overrated but still somehow you end up liking it. it made me cry laugh, irritated towards a character, affected with the plot as any good drama should.

and I love watching korean dramas though sometimes they're so slow. Jap Doramas are the best for me. Try watching Spanish telenovelas...they only have one plot. There's a girl who's abandoned by her real parents, turns out she's the heiress of a family that owns an hacienda so there will be a vicious girl or stepmom that will do everthing evil to keep her away from her treasures. She'll fall in in love with a fabio lookalike boy but will get heartbroken, then she'll realize she needs to retaliate then she'll meet a nice rich guy, marry him and plan revenge. In the end the fabio guy and him will end up with each other and she'll get her hacienda. :wacko: It's always like that, I tell you.

Well, actually my crush for dylan is almost over now but I will still watch Dou Yu2.

Dylan Kuo... *makes face* Everytime he appears on the screen I think he's going to beat someone up. When he smiles he looks like he's strangling himself.

When I watch an episode of this show, a thought always flashes across my mind "Think of the children!" Even though I know that not every little kid is going to be impressed by the gangster life, but I wonder if some little kid was like "hey, these people on tv do it, so I'll do it."

Blue is very, very good looking though, I have to admit. And the whole soulful eyed thing he does is extremely charming, which was why I kept on watching it. i agree with you all too.i find that almost at the end of the drama,is getting bored.everytime Yu Hao go home sure got quarrel with Xiao Yan Zhi.And after that would be Yu Hao is the 1 who can't take it and went out from the house again.Almost everytime the same scene.But i did like the scene where Xiao Yan Zhi playing the piano(which is on the wall of her house)and Yu Hao beside her listening.It's so sweet..........

Yup. I love the original story. I have read it somewhere.. but lost the link though. In the real story, the girl is not called Xiao Yan Zi.. it's call something else.. forgotten though. However, Dou yu do edit part of the real story, like as for Hong Dou's character, it's actually a combination of 3 different person in the original story.

Dylan joined the gang thing to protect her, but doesn't seem to have enough smarts to go "hmm, I'm in a gang, and people don't really look to people in gangs as superb, and golly gee whiz, there's Ah Bao right there glaring at me, oh no he'll never do anything to me." It would be a brilliant move on his part to elope with her and just get the hell out of the city. But, no story, no drama, no audience.

I have respect for this author because she wrote Summer Snow, but this story was mediocre, and well....amateurish. I'm no literary great though, Summer Snow was a really heart touching story and amazing in comparison, plotwise, stylewise, interest wise.

In the original story, uh...the other guy I forgot the name of who is not Blue or Dylan is supposed to fall in love with Xiao Yan Zi, or in the story she's called 小雛菊, which is some sort of fragile flower, since I'm not a gardener/botanist, I won't even hazard a guess to what kind of flower it is.

Sorry for being kind of harsh on my review for this show and the story. Once again, my own personal opinion, I'm sure lots and lots of people like the show/story. :)

haha, i started watching this to absolve my pain from waiting for Mars each week!!!!!!
but i think its a great show......i basically got obsessed with it and i watched the entire 20 episodes in 3 days... :) (my rationale was, i gotta get it out of my system before classes start)

hm....somehow, i'm not a very big fan of Yu Hao and Xiao Yan Zi.....
i don't know, perhaps in the beginning they were kinda sweet, but after awhile, i lost track of why they were even a couple at all....
i gotta say that i felt this way even though i think Yu Hao is hot (cheyanne!!!!! me too!!!)
though some scenes he didn't look that great....somehow i htink that Blue (ShanZi) has a very striking look that makes him look less good. i don't really think blue is that good looking, just that he's got a really intense look....intense and striking look. he looks very short next to Yu Hao though.

anyhow, i'm a HUGE sucker for sweet, nice, self-sacrificial, underdog guys....so i really felt for the blue's character....
i thought it was a pretty good series in all, though its not a traditional happy ending....

heard there was an "the outsiders 2"????? hm....sorry i think its prob been mentioned before, but blue won't be in it??? dang, i was hoping for a blue-xiao yan zi story....picking up where they left off....

OH OH OH and i really felt like slapping that xiao die girl!!!!!!!!!! gosh she was SOOOOO irritating, she totally got on my nerves....

The series wasn't as good as I expected.
WAY too much fighting and not enough lovely dubby stuff I like. HAH. =]

And I also didn't like how they got into that Mafia/Secret Society so easily...
Why didn't Yu Hao just leave Yan zi alone?
Sooner or later, the parents would've HAD to agree.

I only remember angry, vaguely angry, and blank.

Blue is still hot though. I love love love love his character.
The only redeeming feature of the show and wasn't even in the original short story...

But doesn't the relationship between Hong Do and the long haired guy that's not Dylan or Blue remind you of the Mars Da Ye / Qing Mei thing?

the scenes they filmed was so misleading....as in i assumed they were sleeping together, but the 2 of them never had even a single kissing scene! all they had were platonic hugs....
from what i remembered at least.
and i remember there was this scene of her rejecting him....
but no "evidence" that they were actually sleeping together....

Roche, me too! I swear that downloading is soooo addictive. I can just sit in front of my PC and watch the numbers jump.... and every morning when I wake up, I'll immediately check and see how the downloads are doing.

Although I've completed the downloads for episode 1-3, I have not watched it yet. Anyone who've watched it? How is it? Is it up to standard?

Roche, about the ending for Dou Yu 1, yeah, I think they have not slept together and Xiao YanZi rejected Yu Hao the last time he initiated it. But I think they slept together the last night before Yu Hao went off to meet Xiao Die (that darn china woman). Coz that was the night where they resolved everything and made up. So I suppose that was the night that little Yu Hao was conceived.

Hey guys, I've watched episode 1-3 of Dou Yu and I love it. The pace is great and the story is engaging. I was cursing at the end of episode 3 coz I wanted to know what happens next. Like Roche, thank god they show this every weekday. If not, I'll definitely die if it's like Mars.

Is it just me or did Xiao Yan Zi lose even more weight in this series? Her face looks even smaller than before and Dylan looks sooooo handsome. But I noticed that he has got pretty big nostrils. Maybe coz his nose is too sharp. hehe!

Roche, there is no way Xiaozhu can take over Shan Zi's place. But it does seems as though they are trying to portray it that way. Especially when even Xiaozhu seems smitten by Xiao Yan Zi. It seems freakingly coincidental. Haha! I definitely hope that there'll be more exploration of Yu Hao and Xiao Yan Zi's relationship in this series. But I guess this series will show how their relationship deteriorates....

i have episode 3 sitting around all weekend, but i refused to watch it...coz i couldn't bear to only watch 45 mins worth and then curse all weekend while waiting for episode 4!!!!! i mean 45 mins is REALLY wwaaaayyyy too short to satisfy me (esp since Mars is 1hr 10mins)
and also since i watched all episodes of the outsiders 1 in 3 days....so it was like 4 episodes at a go then!

one of the reasons why i didn't like the ending part of the outsiders 1 is coz there didn't seem to be a relationship between yu hao and xiao yan zi....
i mean, they had to go through so much to be together, all the big sacrifices and all, but in the end all they did was "are u hungry? i'll cook dinner" or quarrel...
then yu hao slams the door and leaves and xiao yan zi stands out on the balcony to cry....
and shan zi comes to the rescue....

but yeap, so far i think series 2 is looking good....i'm hooked!!! yu hao is still being pretty sweet to her....and haha, i can't wait to see how the xiao zhu and xiao yan zi thing turns out!!!

oh, and xiao yan zi IS skinner i think....though i can't see how that's even possible....:glug:

I watched the first ten minutes of this show and I turned it off.
(I sound pretty negative about a lot of shows...haha. Except for Mars. I heart Mars.)

Maybe it's because it's such an alt-idol show that I don't like Dylan's character, or Dylan himself at all. Without Blue, I can't keep the interest in the show. Argh. The Blue-Dylan-girl love triangle I like, but another one?! Ick. Why do they always need a love triangle?

I actually liked the ending of the first one, because it's so realistic. They went through so much, but in the end, reality comes into the picture. Although this isn't a very "real" show, but it's still real enough that I can't watch it.

oh i didn't mind the ending, as in i didn't mind the fact that yu hao died....i liked shan zi anyway....(the character, not so much blue)

i was actually hoping for the sequel pick up where the previous series left off, ie to be about shan zi and xiao yan zi's relationship.....?
but then again, that means i don't get to see dylan and i guess i don't want that (i like dylan, but not quite yu hao...hahaha, i'm a confused person :tongue: )

and hm....i actually am more "kan cheong" (canto-means excited?) about this series than mars, because i already KNOW the mars story after reading the entire manga online. stupid move, i know...
but this means that i'm watching mars coz of zai zai :love: and i get excited about watching it each week, but the sense of urgency is much less than if i had NOT known the story...

Yeah Roche, I totally agree. That were my exact thoughts while watching Part 1. And they never show how come their love for each other could be so strong (even strong enough to withstand Shan Zi's dedication and sensitivity towards Xiao Yan Zi) since they started out with problems and then went on to quarrels and then coldness towards each other. I need to know why their love for each other could go so deep!!! I can't help but think that the show focuses more on Yu Hao, Shan Zi and damn! what's that guy's name again? Anyway, I think Part 1 focuses more on the three guys' friendship than on the love between Yu Hao and Xiao Yan Zi. I so hope that they will explore more on Yu Hao and Xiao Yan Zi in Part 2. If the show continues like episode 1-3, I don't think I'll be dissappointed...

haha anne, actually i remembered the first 10 mins being quite boring...

but it definitely picked up after that :-)
coz the first part was just some boring conversation bits between xiao yan zi and hong dou
and yu hao being his stubborn self and yelling at xiao yan zi

BUT after that u get yu hao coming out to the balcony with clumpy milk to make ammends....
and that's where it starts getting better, haha....

and yup, i think part 2 will explore further the relationship between yu hao and xiao yan zi...as well as ah qi (?) and hong dou....hopefully it'll fill in the gaps of part 1. though it seems hard to NOT show shan zi at all....the excuse they gave was pretty lame. i mean, even if he's in prison, there's no reason why he won't want to see them when they visit him....

why didn't blue want to act in the sequel???

I think it's because I don't like shows that have to do with mafia, and angst bothers me if it's not well defined angst.

Yeah I was also wondering why Blue is not in it. Is it because he didn't want to or they didn't want him since his character is in jail and it'll be difficult to include him in the story.

Judy, so have you thought of a show that others hate but you like? Or I think it'll be easier if you think of another show that you like, other than Mars. That'll give me a rough gauge on your taste. And seriously, if you ever tell me Love COntract, I am so going to DIE!!!

I haven't watched many chinese shows.
I liked Meteor Garden. Hehe.
I kind of liked MVP, but there were parts I hated about it too.
Top on the Forbidden City was ok when I watched one episode, but gradually deteriorated until I couldn't watch that either.
I liked the parts of Say Yes that I watched, but it couldn't keep my attention span.
Didn't like Love Storm, even though Vic was in it.
Didn't like Westside Story.
Thought that Endless Love korean drama was way too dramatic and ridiculous.
Oh! Oh! There was a short Japanese one around 10 episodes about a hockey player that I really really liked.

I've never seen Love Contract.

I sound extremely picky.

The Rose seems interesting though.

anne i think the reason why blue isn't in it is probably a combination of both reasons...
im guessing that its hard to include him in the actual story since he's in jail....i mean, he won't be part of the main story at all...though i guess they could have tried to do a side story for him while he's in jail...and i guess explain why he decided to quit the gang once and for all after he his release and go back to school instead...(though i can't imagine what they can come up with, it seems like a very logical thing for him to have done...)

so prob he didn't want to just put in a couple of cameos so the scriptwriter just wrote him off the storyline completely??

hm....let me think what taiwanese shows (idol dramas) I have watched....
- Meteor Garden 1, 2 and Meteor Rain (fine, so i was a teensy bit obsessed)
- Poor Prince
BAD BAD show....i hated it. and this is despite the fact that zai zai looked adorable. but its very slapstick humour and i DID NOT appreciate them dressing him up as a female multiple times.
- Love Storm
can't say i liked it overly much. i guess i didn't like lu yingfeng that much. he sniffed around too much... but it was okay. i liked the rain scene where yingfeng/zai zai and jia le/vivian got together....
- Come To My Place
i watched it coz i heard that zai zai played a real good bad guy in the show....and yeap, he did look good there :-) just that i thought the main storyline was boring...didn't like hte main leads...
- The Outsiders
this was the first series after meteor garden that i liked for a looooonnng time!!!!
- Mars
heh heh, i love it, except that i'm still kicking myself for reading the manga and thus knowing the whole story - all the twists and whatnot...

not a big fan of 5566 to be honest...and i thought that tony didn't have the screen presence of a male lead...didn't like the show too much...

i was majorly attracted by pictures of the show, but it turned out to be REALLY boring... and roy qiu didn't even look as good in the show as in the pictures i saw....

and i guess i downloaded legend of speed but i haven't had the chance to watch it yet...
i watched 2.5 episodes of Love Contract and gave up...
it was really boring and i hated the female lead...
and the male lead whom i thought was quite cute initially didn't live up to my expectations, haha. he looked too weak/skinny to be a swimmer!

i heard that the rose is supposed to be quite good....but i'm not a fan of S.H.E and so i haven't gotten around to dling that...

Dolphin Bay and 100% senorita are supposed to be pretty good too...but i again i haven't watched those...

i was acutally choosing between the 3of them and the outsiders to watch before school started, and i'm really pleased with the outsiders, haha.

and i guess its pretty obvious that most of the shows i watched are zai zai shows huh :tongue:

and judes hm...i don't usually watch k or j dramas coz i don't like reading subs....
but perhaps i'll give that a shot the next time i have an urge to watch a series...
prob while i'm suffering from Mars and Outsiders withdrawal symptoms! :bleh:

Meteor Garden 1,2 and Meteor Rain >> Like Roche, I was obsessed!

Poor Prince >> Watched it coz I was zaizai hungry and meh, I didn't finish the whole thing. Think watching Ken acting as his dad has got something to do with it.

Come to my Place >> Don't ask me about this. I could not even bring myself to complete half an episode of it. Perfect solution for a sleepless night but on the other hand, I think all the cursing at the show would GIVE you sleepless night.

Love Storm >> I thought this show was pretty decent esp. compared to the previous zaizai's shows after MG1. Though the kidnapping of vivian is boring and dumb. And there is not enough zaizai's screen time.

MVP Valentine >> Don't like 5566 and I think this show is pretty boring. It took me almost 1 year to finish the whole thing. Think I took half a year to watch 2 episodes. The only thing that keeps me watching is because of Gao Tian Qi (acting as Gao Xing in the show) and the basketball matches. Gao Xing is so cool and cute but too bad he's not going to be acting anymore. And the love triangle between Tony Sun and the Xiaoxi is soooo boring. They should've shown more on the story between Gao Xing and Barbie.

Sonic Youth (Ji Shu Qing Chun) >> Chen Bo Lin. What more can I say, since this handsome lad is in it. Anyway, this show is good. One of the better ones around. Watch it!

The Original Scent of Summer >> Hey roche, I thought this show was not bad though there are quite alot of boring parts but try watching this after watching Love Contract. Trust me, you'll find this a relief! And Roy Qiu looks really good. Don't really like his teeth though.

Snow Angel >> Yikes! Toro is prettier than the female lead!!! And that guy who acted as Duan Cheng Feng in MVP looks like a gay. Hehe... watched halfway and have not completed it.

100% Senorita >> Not bad but some parts are pretty draggy. The weird thing is, I started watching this show because of Wallance Huo Jian Hua but by the end of the show, I dislike him. He gives me this stuck up feeling and now he has been striked out of my list of hotties.

Lavender >> Never finish watching it. Don't like Ambrose Hui.

Oh man... I just realised that my list could go on forever. Yes, I'm a TV junkie. To spare all of you, I shall stop now though there are some taiwan serials that I've watched.

Anyway Judy, I've watched Pride too! I love it. Especially the way he goes, "Maybe" in the show. I've mentioned this before in LQP thread but I shall say it again. I enjoyed pissing my friends off coz for some time after watching Pride, I'll go, "maybe" to every qn that they asked me. Hehe! Jap shows are usually nice coz they only have 11 episodes thus the pace is faster. Don't you find ice hockey just so cool? And Kimura too of coz! Did you watch "Good Luck" before Pride?

roche: I watched a bit of Come To My Place, and watching Vic stagger around as a hotshot photographer was awesome. But I don't like Jerry because he seemed really bland in that. And...I can't remember anything else about the episode I watched, but some ghost Hong Kong movie was on then that caught my attention more than that. Wasn't Meteor Rain so terrible though?!?!?! Ugh. The father/daughter one just makes me so sad and angry. Argh.

I'm going to attempt to watch Legends of Speed, because it seems interesting.

Toro is such a pretty boy. I can't decide whether he's amazingly good looking or amazingly unattractive and femme. He writes good lyrics though, I have to say.

I adore Halu!!! Ah! Even though he was a jerk and a player but he just had enough of a personality and presence for me to love him. And even though his ideas are kind of traditional and the whole "woman" thing he has in his mind is outdated, but it's so happy! The hockey scene at the end was...uh....greatly exaggerated to the point of similar to MVP Valentine except maybe even more if that's possible. Yeah, I liked how it wasn't too long, but the storyline was developed well.

And I've never seen Good Luck. Pride is the only Japanese show I've seen, except for bits and pieces of that one about the little boy who live with a foster family of three best friends who don't know how to take care of kids.

anne: i think ken ruined BOTH Poor Prince and Love Storm...
his snorting in love storm still haunts me now!!! though i guess for poor prince i just thought the whole show was bleah...from unrealistic casting to the ridiculous (non-existent) storyline.
OH! and i thought gao xing was the only redeeming factor in the show MVP Valentine!! :-)
As for Original Scent of Summer, i actually finished watching it.....though that was probably due to boredom in summer. the scenes were pretty and all, and i think roy qiu and rainie looked cute, but i felt that it was somewhat draggy. i put in disc after disc for the sake of watching it, but not because i can't wait to find out what happens next....

i've never heard of sonic youth though. hm... :hmm: i'll check it out sometime...

i saw a couple of episodes at a friend's place this show starring alec su. its some period drama about a sabre and a sword? thought it wasn't too bad...i'm assuming that its taiwanese since its got alec su in it...

judes: haha, i was never a DMS/jerry yan fan...as in, i could understand what people saw in him, (as opposed to the other 2, esp the snorting idiot) but it was Lei/Zai Zai for me all the way....
so i basically didn't really pay much attention to the jerry bits in Come to my Place...just the angsty Zai Zai. haha...
and as for Meteor Rain, i actually HATED the DMS pian...it was majorly boring. the vanness story and the ken story wasn't too bad though. (yeah, this is despite the fact that i couldn't stand ken) but i guess xi men is okay at times...i guess i liked the idea of a xiao you - ximen story...? the japanese girl in the mei zuo pian is the host of the FFR now!!!

and i've got Outsiders episode 4!!!!!!!!! :excited:

Haha! Hooray Roche, looks like we've brought the Ken dissing over here as well. Yeah, you are right. Who can forget about Ken and his snorting in Love Storm? Muahaha~ I can't help but think that somehow all the snorting suits his face.

I think the Alec Su period drama you're talking about is "Yu Tian Tu Long Ji" Dragon Sword and Heavenly Sabre or something like that. Yeah, that's pretty hot right now. All my friends are watching it and most of them are guys coz they all like this lady acting in the show.... I've never bothered watching it coz I've outgrown Alec Su since Huan Zhu Ge Ge (the period drama which made him popular again) days. And also because this story has been acted out so many times by so many different Taiwanese and Hong Kong actors that I'm pretty tired of it.

I wanted to wait up for Outsiders ep4 to be out last night but I was too tired. Nvm, I'll go home and download it tonight.... can't wait to see what happens next. I was thinking maybe I should wait for the whole series to be completed before I continue watching it coz I hate all the waiting. But the temptation is too great....

Oh and I was kind of bored last night thus I watched "Ai Shang Qian Jin Mei Mei" which has been sitting around in my harddisk for quite some time and guess what. I caught 4 epsiodes at a go. It was pretty alright, quite nice coz I like the female lead (she is that Barbie in MVP). But Jason looks sort of wooden. I realised that he has only got 2 expressions on his face. Widen his already big eyes in mock anger and widen his already big eyes trying to gaze intensely into the camera. But to tell the truth, both expressions look exactly the same to me. Which in other words, means that he has only 1 expression from the first few episodes that I've caught.

Judy, I think Toro is pretty to the extend of disgusting. How can a guy be some pretty? I saw him face to face once and his features were so sharp and nice that he overshadowed all the girls' around him. He looks like some anime characters. Haha! I think he is better looking in real life than on screen.

Yeah, Takuya Kimura always draws you into the character that he plays. I cannot think of a show that he has acted in that I do not like. It's like, any show that he acts in will be a definite hit. Ice hockey is so cool!

Edit: Ah Lie is Xiaozhu, right? He is the son of a traid leader??!! Serious?? Did they already show that part? How come I missed it?? Which part?

oh oh oh cmj....bit torrent is really easy to use!!!!!!!

just get hold of a bit torrent client (program) i use bit tornado and that's supposed to be idiot proof for beginners.... whatever works!

so basically all you need to do after you download the bt client is to download the bt torrent files, like this:
THe Outisiders Episode 4 (http://momusu.lunarpages.com/bt/torrents/%5Bcn5566%5Ddgptw-10%5B1%5D.4%5Bfish2%5D%5D%5B179mb-rm%5D.torrent)

and then use your client to open that torrent file and then it runs by itself!!!
and when its done you'll see "download succeeded"

a lot of people watched MG first and got sucked into chinese dramas.

MVP was funny BECAUSE of the DCF/tz thing. i was all hahahahaha tz is so short and it's funny to watch them compete against each other.

AHHH Mars is amazing. That's all I can say.

Westside Story....the first episode was cool. Then it just stopped making sense.

Le Robe De Mariage Des Cieux is good? It sounds interesting. I like the shows that settv puts out.

edit: top on the forbidden city was terrible. The dancing was overexaggerated, the plotline completely weirded, and the love polygon got boring after a while.

oh i watched peach girl too, but i didn't like it too much....that guy (dong si) is the most boring and loserish guy ever!!! and that girl (sha hui) was MAJORLY irritating....and i don't even like xiaotao either.
jerry yen was supposed to act in the dong si role i think.

and i gotta say that i haven't heard of half the serials you've watched....heh

and about the outsiders....
hm....i think it'll be sad to watch xiao yan zi and yu hao's relationship degenerate over the episodes....
i mean, right now they are still in the argue, but still sweet to each other stage...
but its just gonna be downhill from there....

i wonder who ah lie's sister is..... :hmm:

right now there's still plenty of "sweetness" between them that no longer was there towards the end of Outsiders 1...

well, outsiders 1 was about three best buds who grew up together
Yu Hao is kinda the "leader" of the three....
and Shan Zi (acted by blue, da s's bf) was the "smart but reclusive/quiet one"
and Ah Qi was the "rash and simple-minded" one...

oh, and xiao yan zi was initally a very docile, sweet innocent girl who loved to play the piano. classic "good girl/ girl next door"

so one day she randomly rescued Yu Hao while he was getting beaten up by some gang members, and from then he kinda liked her....
so he went after her (they were all in the same high school) and it was kinda sweet between them...
she left her home for him, since her parents disapproved of their relationship. they moved out into this apartment where they're living at in part 2.

oh and hong dou initially liked Yu Hao, but after awhile she got together with Ah Qi...and became xiao yan zi's best friend.

anyway, so basically they got into some trouble with the triads, and ended up joining the gang to protect themselves....
lotsa unhappiness and trouble...brought about mainly by the antagonist in the story ah pao.

shanzi went to jail....and the outsiders 2 is set during the time in which he's in jail.

hm....i think this is a rather disjointed summary....let me see if i can find you a better synopsis!

i thought the idea was kind of sweet at first, but then...i've never found gangs romantic.
funny how xiao yan zi was supposed to be with ai qi, and they made up shan zi (which was a good move.)

i'm in the midst of watching episode 6 right now....its a little slow.

hm....just remembered something. i know i was somewhat surprised at the end of Dou Yu 1 to find out that xiao yan zi was pregnant...
the scenes they filmed was so misleading....as in i assumed they were sleeping together, but the 2 of them never had even a single kissing scene! all they had were platonic hugs....
from what i remembered at least.
and i remember there was this scene of her rejecting him....
but no "evidence" that they were actually sleeping together....

Roche, about the ending for Dou Yu 1, yeah, I think they have not slept together and Xiao YanZi rejected Yu Hao the last time he initiated it. But I think they slept together the last night before Yu Hao went off to meet Xiao Die (that darn china woman). Coz that was the night where they resolved everything and made up. So I suppose that was the night that little Yu Hao was conceived.

i just remembered that one thing that made me think they were sleeping together in outsiders 1 was that somewhere in the middle i could have sworn they showed scenes of them in the same bed...
but then again, i might have been hallucinating...
but i mean, they've been together for what? more than 5 years? at the end of outsiders 1...so.... :angel:

oh, and hanzo, i think hong dou isn't ah lie's sister....
sorry i got confused by your "miss hong"
coz that xiong ge's god daughter's name is HONG lei lei!!!
so i'm assuming that's who you're talking about...!

forbidden city doesn't have really tall guys. or at least they don't look super tall to me.
the guy who plays xing tian is kind of short. but everybody in MVP is super tall except for tz.

i meant ah qi! hahahaha. yes, i have no pin yin skills.
and hanzo, i was referring to the short story it's based on.
in the short story, the sidekick of the main character (dylan's character), is a guy with blond dyed hair, who falls in love with the girl, and after the guy dies, promises to take care of her when she's pregnant. but she refuses and she goes back to her family.

During the weekends, I've finished watching to episode 8 and, wow! I'm impressed. Haven't seen decent shows like this in quite awhile (not considering Mars of coz!). Why can't they show it in the weekends as well? I want to know what happened! Will Ah Lie fall for Lei Lei in the end? OMG! Dylan is so HOT! Can you imagine? 5 episodes of Dylan in a go and I still have not got enough!

And I was thinking, in Dou Yu 1, before they showed the 4 years later part, didn't Ah Bao get Xiong Ge into trouble with the authorities and Xiong Ge had to flee Taiwan? He only returned 4 years later after Shan Zi got released from jail. So the four years shouldn't have Xiong Ge in it, right? If so, how come Xiong Ge is in Dou Yu 2 since Dou Yu 2 is supposed to be the four years while Shan Zi is in jail? Or did I remember wrongly?

Roche, Gao Xing is either 1.75m or 1.78m.... I was so obsessed with him after watching MVP and he came to Spore for MVP promotion before but too bad I only managed to get myself to finally watch the show after they came, so I missed Gao Xing in the flesh. Major Boo!
Taizi and Duan Cheng Feng are so bleh! And when the both of them stood next to each other, they look like some gay couple coz of their height difference and well, hair difference.

Hey Judy, Forbidden City is played by 2 guys from Tension, right? Hmm... I almost downloaded it but after doing some research on Tension, I've decided to hold back coz I doubt I'll watch it afterall.

Gino is kind of ugly, and JR has a cute face, but the show isn't very good.
Ok, well, maybe not ugly. But he wore a flowered shirt, which was a complete turn off. And he just has odd features. You will see if you ever look at screencaps from the show.

Roche, Lei Lei is not Ah Lie's sister. *spoilers* Xiao Yan Zi is. And Ah Lie's dad died while trying to protect Lei Lei's dad and Ah Lie hates Lei Lei's dad coz he did not even help their mom after his dad died even though it was becoz of him that Ah Lie's dad died in the first place. And thus, his mom committed suicide which caused he and his sis to be seperated. You should've seen this part.... didn't you? Oh and now that Yu Hao has fled with Xiao Yan Zi, he's out of the picture and looking after Lei Lei seems to be Ah Lie's responsibility so I thought it might be possible that sparks will fly between them....

Heheh.... about the Xiong Ge thing, I can't really remember too coz I watched the whole series in 2 days excluding the last episode. I think I only watched the last episode one week after the 2nd last episode. If I'm not wrong, I didn't watch it coz Yu Hao died and I saw no point in continuing....

but what i thought was that he LIKED xiao yan zi and so that's why he asked the police officer about info about her!!!!!! plus she seems to be the brains of the clan now that shan zi is gone (they make yu hao out to be pretty dumb) so i thought that was why he want to find out more about her....

initially when i saw the trailer i thought that xiao yan zi was the sister too, but after watching the episode proper i concluded that that's not why he asked for her file...

and i really think that lei lei is his sister!!!! i mean, he got adopted, but his sis didn't have anyone...so it kinda makes sense that his dad's boss would take in his loyal follower's daughter...
plus her dad doesn't seem to care about her....??

And when Ah Lie learnt that Xiao Yan Zi is his sister, he kept sneaking glances at her (though I always had the impression that his stolen glances seems more like he's interested in her...). um, I only caught part of the first ever episode of Dou Yu 2 while I was in Taiwan and based on the teasers, they were hinting that Ah Lie will figure in a love triangle with Xiao Yan Zi and Yu Hao so there...

I have a question, though, Xiao Yan Zi had her self pregnancy test, right? was that a pink strip I saw, meaning she's pregnant? :?

But I must rejoice because cetv, the more popular chinese channel here in the phils. will be airing the show in november. yay! :excited:

i feel sorry for ah lie, he's my fav character. I think he's got it the hardest.
On one side, he has to protect ah hao, on the other hand he has to show

i just watched all the episodes i had on my comp!

i was so angry with xiao yan zi for being so silly in the latest episode...
i mean, first she doesn't tell yu hao about the threats from the gang
then when they attacked, i didn't see how she would protect her sign by hugging it....
that was a majorly dumb move...

i wonder if ah lie still likes xiao yan zi.... :hmm:

i don't really like all the peripheral characters though - like the useless bum (can't remember his name) - the one whose mom went to look up yu hao.

oh and u know how in the trailer they tried to make it look as if yuhao shot ah lie....??!?! i bet it didn't happen though. no way will they kill him off that early....
how many episodes is this supposed to be anyway???

but still....i wonder how they planning to reconcillate the missing ah lie and lei lei....
as in, there was no mention of the 2 of them at the end of dou yu 1
so they have to "disappear" by the end of this series....

I only got to watch episode 11 of Mars last night which is like the first time since the past 11 weeks that I took so long to actually catch Ling in action. Anyway, any idea how many episodes there are to Dou Yu? I hope it will not end so soon like Mars. But again, I hope it'll not be too long and draggy. Damn. I'm one confused girl.

i'm still at ep 9 of mars!!!! eeeks, right? but since mars episodes are longer, its harder for me to find a longer block of time to watch them so that's why i've yet to watch 10 and 11.

My friend has the whole series in VCD... but I ended up watching the first two episodes then the last two...
Well, Big S's Bf look so different with his shorter hair... but she is lucky to have him. He looks very dignified and he can be considered as one of the better young actors and actresses in idol TV series...
It is actually the first time seeing Guo Pin Chao for me after hearing his name being mentioned for numeral times... He does look great, but I don't feel as attached as many others do... But the main actress for the Outsiders is too... skinny! Her eyes are poppin' out in a bad way (like Somali refugees)... she needs to boost up her nutritions, honestly...
The storyline is like any other kinds of storyline for this kind of TV series... though they make it a bit dramatic and real by extending the stories beyond the school years... again, where do they hire all the non-main actor and actresses? (aka extras, or sidelines, or whatever) They have extremely horrible acting skills. They don't even know how to smile properly, and don't even mention their ways of talking. >.< I can feel the TV series is being rushed rather than making it with great details... but I do understand their feelings, since it's like the current trend for making dramas nowadays. *sigh*

XiaoZhu is jus a nickname of his n why is he called that i've no idea... but his full name is call Luo Zhi Xiang... in his first debut album, his called SHOW which he said tat this name will only be used when he is releasing album cos he want a name cool when promoting his album n not like the name XiaoZhu... this name will only be use when his hosting some entertainment show...

Roche, yeah I was expecting SATC to be rather standalone since english shows are usually that case. Anyway, I hope that it'll get me hooked to keep watching like what Friends did to me. But from that line you mentioned in one of the LQP threads, I have high hopes.

Hanzo, yeah, Xiaozhu is said to be a good friend of Jay's. But he insisted on not using any of Jay's composition on his album coz he does not want to be said as riding on Jay's fame or something like that. As to why he's called Xiao Zhu, I think it is from some TV entertainment show. But I can't remember the whole story now.

I saw her (Hong Dou ) one time doing a catwalk for show and i just can't actually believe she is so pretty! I saw her in "The Rose" and in "Beauty Girl" ( I think it is the english title of that.. she's together with Ambrose Hsu ) and her maje-up in the series are very simple and plain but when it comes to doing modeling her beauty really shows! :excited:

Hong Dou (real name is Lu Ming Jun) in real person is a model and she hosted a entertainment news program...
I think she is one of those models who have the attitude and personality.........not classified as pretty face like Lin Zhi Ling, the current Taiwan hottest model....
She has the height of a model...I think she is 1.76m..which is quite tall.... :bleh:

Roche, I realise that even in Dou Yu 2, they only have hugs and occassional planting of quick kiss on Xiaoyanzi's head. Nothing else that suggests that their relationship has gone further. If Xiao yan zi did not say that she's pregnant, I wouldn't even think that they slept together. It's almost as though they are just really good friends. Hey, just a thought. Throughout Dou Yu 1 and 2, did Xiao yan zi and Yu Hao share any deep kiss? And when Ah Lie hugged Lei Lei- Xiao Yan Zi, Hong Dou and the rest made it into such a big deal. Wonder if the scriptwriters themselves are very chaste beings. That'll explain the lack of passion and sparks in this show.

Yeah, maybe coz there are already all the excessive violence included in this show so they try to not to include too much passion in it as well.

But it's different in MG1. In MG1, we could all sense the guy's urgency in DMS and he himself said that he is a normal guy so he'll have all the guy's needs. And we also do see alot of heated passion in DMS and Shancai though they are all innocent. And the show also answered our doubts on whether the both of them slept together when they shared a room unlike in Dou Yu 2 whereby, they actually stayed together and I'm still blur about whether they slept together ornot. But still, this show is great!

honestly, in Dou Yu 1 when they first moved out together, it was because they were forced by circumstances to do so....
i mean, xiaoyanzi was somewhat kicked out by her parents (or rather she couldn't be at home and go out with yu hao - she'd be sent to vienna (?) to further her studies...)

plus she was really young then too....still in high school? so she's probably 16 since she had a couple more years to graduation, right?

so i'm not surprised that they were all chaste and all initially....

and the way the producers filmed it, i had no clue when the transition took place!
i mean, i remember anne and i were discussing if they even slept together at all at the end of dou yu 1. i know i was somewhat surprised that xiao yan zi was pregnant then....that was what sparked off our discussion.

as for now, i'm guessing that perhaps its when they were running away from the police, and were at the shrimp farm??? no clue...
i mean initially xiao yan zi was still scarred by her encounter with ah bao's guy.....

OH OH OH and i just watched the episode of kang xi lai le (which xiao s hosts) and it featured Guo Pin Chao, that actor who acted as ah qi, and he jun xiang (xiao mei - guy who acted in love contract)

Yeah, gotta agree with Hanzo, the ending was quite sad. Truthfully, Dou Yu 2's plotline resembles HK's Infernal Affair...AND Japan's Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi (starring Kimura Takuya). Why I mentioned that Japanese drama was due to the whole brother-sister/incest thing going on, kinda like Ah Lie and Lei Lei.

Oh well...I thought Dou Yu 2 wasn't too bad at all. It could have been worse.

But after watching the final episode of DY2...it really makes me wonder how Ah Hao and Xiao Yan Zi's relationship become so bad as portrayed in DY1??? Cuz in the ending of DY2...they seem to be pretty close and "happy".

I think I am really making this into a habit. I have the last 2 episodes of Dou Yu 2 sitting in my harddisk and I have not watched it yet. I finished 8 episodes of SATC season 5, 2 episodes of Kang Xi Lai Le (One of it has Dylan Guo as the special guest and boy is he hot! and he's such a snag.) and I have not touched Dou Yu 2. At all! What is wrong with me?

Anyway, the episode I downloaded was Dylan Guo with F.I.R. My god, Faye is like two totally different person on stage and off. On stage, she looks like such a cool and confident woman (esp with that face of hers.) but when she attended Kang Xi Lai Le and started talking, she's like a little girl who is kinda unsure of what to say. But her unsure ways is so cute. Especially when Xiao S started picking on her. Hahaha! After watching that episode, I went to buy F.I.R's album immediately. Although I've already got their songs in my hdd.

I tell you, I could really learn to hate Xiao S if not for the fact that she's such a funny slut. Dylan was showing them how to do situps or something like that and he was saying that you've got to tighten your tummy and Xiao S was like, "Oh, is it? Can I see if you really tighten yours?" Then she started poking at Dyaln's tummy. And then, she said, "What about your legs?" and then there she goes touching his legs. Damn. I was green with jealousy. I wanted to reach for her neck and screamed, "Keep your hands off Dylan!!" but on the other hand, I was like, "So, how does it feel? Touch more and tell me more. I want to see how Dylan reacts! Go lower, lady. I SAID LOWER!! Now, does he feel good orwhat?"

and now she ends up SHOOTING her ah lie?!?!?!
what the hell?!?!?!?
how did she even manage to get the gun from ah hao's men??!?!? she like half their size!!!!
she's an absolute total moron!!!!! she doesn't THINK before doing anything...!!!!

Actually Roche, what I did was to copy the chinese characters "kang xi lai le" from 100kan and paste the words in bt china. I can't type chinese characters too. You can try that. Or if you want, I can paste the link for you when I get home today. Oh but if you want to try copy and paste yourself (so that you can download earlier), when you get to the search results page, the link should be somewhere near the end. Don't click on the main link coz I don't think that works. On the right hand side of the link, you should see "D2|D3|D4" (if I remembered correctly). You can use the links there. I downloaded from D2. Funny why the link I posted did not work coz I tried at home after posting the link and I was able to download it.

I've finished watching Dou Yu 2 too. And I'm sort of embarrassed to say, I did shed some tears. There is just something about brotherhood that makes me go all soft and gooey. spoilers: I was so touched when Ah Lie was dying and Yu Hao and Ah Qi started crying. And when Ah Lie raised his hand then Yu Hao followed by Ah Qi held it, my tears started falling. I can't believe it. I did not even shed a single tear in Mars when Ling was dying. Hmmm.....

Like Roche, I was cursing Lei Lei. But come to think of it, her character has got to be the most miserable of them all. The love of her life turns out to be her brother which means she cannot have any romantic notions and then she killed the guy she loves, who is also her brother. Furthermore, her dad who is not her birth-dad (but whom she respected or love?) also died. But at least she went mad. If not, I really wonder how she is going to carry all these emotional baggage.

But the ending has got Yu Hao and Xiao Yan Zi looking happy, which does not tie with the four years later that we see in Dou Yu 1. Hmm... do you think there'll be a Dou Yu 3 which will continue from Dou Yu 2 and with an ending that'll tie with the starting of Four Years Later in Dou Yu1. Although I think Dylan is hot and everything, I'm not exactly looking forward to it if there is. It's like an overdose of Dou Yu.

oh my lord.....Ling was dying in mars?!?!?!?!?
(i haven't gotten around to watching mars yet...heh)

but i gotta say that i was tearing a little at the end too....
the whole situation was just so tragic....
i felt so sorry for ah lie and the circumstance he was put in that i actually started liking the character ah lie/xiao zhu more....
coz initially, well, i didn't like ah lie/xiao zhu too much....
he seemed like a poor replacement for shanzi somehow....

but at the end, i was actually moved by the situation that he was put in that i started sympathising with him more and thus liking him more.....heh

the thing is though, i dont think the ending of Dou Yu 2 tied in very well with Dou Yu 1....
i mean, ah lie and lei lei ended up being a pretty integral part of their lives, its strange that they were never mentioned after that.
plus hong dou seemed very attached to lei lei, and they never did say what happened to lei lei at the end.....

oh and i managed to download the dylan kuo - FIR episdoe!!!! i found the kang xi lai le torrents by clicking on the "hot threads" listed at the top of the bt china site i went to....

Nah, I think that guy's name has a "kang" in it. But from what I observed, I think "Kang Xi" is derived from the "kang" in that guy's name and "Xi" in Xiao S's name. I think her chinese name is "Hsu Xi Di" or something like that.

xiao s and kang xi (is that hte name of the male host?) completely traumatized the poor girl..... Haha! I think Xiao S is the one doing all the traumatizing. I thought she seems pretty jealous of Faye! But that's what makes the show fun!

Did you catch the episode on ASOS with Jerry Yen as the special guest? omg. Jerry and Barbie was trying their damnest not to mention about the unahppiness beyween the both of them and Xiao S kept bringing it up and asked them about whether they still wanna work together and even got the both of them to shake each others' hands. Hahaha!

You know what? Maybe we should rename this thread to Kang Xi Lai Le or ASOS. Or maybe just, "Xiao S - the talkshow funny slut that you can't help but love"

Great! Dou Yu was nominated for Taiwan's Golden Gong Award in the Best TV series of the year!!
Although it seemed there are a slim chance of winning.. but still hope they could!! :D
Furthermore, Hui Su,the old cop that was in Dou Yu 1 was nominated for Best Supporting Male actor as well.
As for Lan Zheng Long, he was nominated for Best Actor for some other series but not Dou Yu.

I know what you're talking about!!! xiao s is just insanely outrageous....i can't believe she made them shake hands!!!! but its true though, i think her personality - outrageous, slutty, blunt - just makes her shows entertaining to watch!!! i mean, if it wasn't for her hosting ASOS i think it'd be a real boring show with just da s alone....
da s is majorly boring....
so even though xiao s is crass, blunt and slutty, i much prefer that to boring, prudish, proper like what da s is.....

that episode of kang xi with lan zhenglong that i was talking about - it reveals quite a bit about xiao s and her family (including lan zhenglong) lets just say that they drink alot (and get drunk) together....haha
and apparently xiao s parades around at home wearing next to nothing....(why am i not surprised) while da s covers herself up from head to toe

and back to dou yu :tongue:

Yes, Da S is boring with a capital B. The only other show that I know Lan Zhen Long acted in is MG1. Roche, you're getting swayed? But whenever I recall the part where Da S had to kneel for his forgiveness just becoz of some rumours with some actor, I'll be like... hmmm...

but honestly, he looked pretty darn good in that show...!!!! almost takeshi kaneshiro-ish!!!!
(i thought he reminded me of an ugly/deformed takeshi kaneshiro in MG1)

i didn't know he's so young though. apparently he just got out of army or something...and is younger than da s. perhaps that's why she feels insecure???
i remember i watched this talkshow (probably kang xi) where da s and zai zai were on to promote mars, and da s was describing how she fell for lan zhen long...
she was like the first time she saw him, he took her breath away...as in, she thought he was the best looking guy around.....
at that time, i was like "she must be blind" - i mean, in MG she was surrounded by zai zai!!! and jerry yen!!! (well, i didn't think jerry was that good looking, but compared to lan zheng long in MG he's waaay more goodlooking!)

oh, and haha, best looking gangster award huh.... :laughing:
