Which of Jolin s' songs written by Jay do you like best?

I was thinking – Jay has written a lot of songs for other artistes, Jolin notwithstanding. In fact, most of her hit songs from the last two albums can be attributed to him. (Maybe that s’ why her recent albums sold so well! :bleh: ) So I was just wondering, which of her songs written by Jay do you like best? :)


I feel that Shuo Ai Ni and Jiu Shi Ai are written along the same vein… they are both very catchy and are light-hearted songs about love. :love: But… I would have to say I prefer Shuo Ai Ni… But (a big but here)… that would only be because Jolin sounds super act cute in Jue Shi Ai. :rasp:


Bu La Ge Guang Chang and Hai Dao are also pretty similar in terms of production and sound effects… very fresh and unique… I would have to say they are two of Jay s’ best compositions. :thumbsup:


Qi Shi Jing Shen is very Jay… but, to me at least, it s’ not as nice as the other two songs featured in kan wo 72 bian…


Dao Dai is probably the least known among the 6 recent songs… but it s’ one of my favourite Jolin s’ song. It gives me this melancholic feeling? Hmm… it just makes me feel different whenever I hear it. :wink2:


But I chose Ni Zhe Me Lian Huo Dou Shuo Bu Qing Chu. Okay, I ‘m guilty. I admit that I ‘m biased. :angel: I have never heard Jolin sing this song but I know that Jay sang it at his concert and it s’ really good… :laughing: It sounds like his own song… Somehow I can’t imagine Jolin singing it. But anyway, it s’ a really good song. :wink2:

My personal favourite would definitely be Bu La Ge Guang Chan... As I snoop through the entire CD (Kan Wo 72 Bian), this song capivated me.. N i really mean capitivated as in CAPS... Jay is really a great composer who can draw himself away from the Asian song market.. Fantastic... :yeah:

i was torn between Pirate and the 'Square of Prague' but in the end i had to chose 'Square of Prague' coz it was that song that made me like Jolin ... i am not a fan of hers but i always never really liked her becasue of the whole Jay and Jolin thing but when i heard that song i was speechless. The song and the beat is so good and i love how Jay was also in it so that is a plus!

I really loved Jay's rap in "Bu Le Ge Guang Chang". That entire song amazed me extremely much. And that made me starting to like Jolin as well. The music was fascinating and the MTV was COOL!

b4 i found out about the whole jolin-throwing-herself-at-jay thing i used to like jolin and 'shuo ai ni' was my favorite. the only reason i thought it was so good was because she was the 1st chinese female artist i'd heard sing and i liked the mv so much i tried to learn the dance moves to it! (i learnt halfway, then saw jolin for who she really was). she's lucky 2 have jay write songs 4 her, cause his music is about the only thing that's holding her career up... :laughing:

I like both Bu La Ge Guang Chang and Hai Dao cos they're very unique Jay compositions! Will settle for Bu La Ge Guang Chang because the lyrics and music goes really well and gives me this feeling of actually being teleported to Square of Prague! Hai Dao and Ju Shi Ai are the only two that I've heard but I don't really like any of them. If I had to choose I would have to be Hai Dao...maybe coz I've heard it more times than Ju Shi Ai...

bu la ge guang chang have a kind of sound that you can feel the meaning without understanding the lyrics itself. I think it is one of the most marvellous sounds of Jay's composing talent. I just think the MV sucks...
I like Hai Dao second, since I think it is creative of Jay to have that Sean-Paul-soundalike rap in it and it works the magic just like BLGGC
QSJS, I like it third because of that Sakura song he used. Shuo Ai Ni and Jue Shi Ai, i thought of it as the same cuz it sounded light-pop, and I dun fancy light-pop much. Dao Dai is just a usual Jay ballad. But the top 3 is my fav cuz of its uniqueness that u can't find in any other composers (n if there's any other, it didn't sound as grand and exquisitely arranged like Jay's)

I chose Qing Shi Jing Shen. I like Bu La Ge Guang Chang a LOT but I thought the musical variations (or whatever you call the salsa-sounding sounds) were a bit too much to the point that they overshadowed the song and you just end up hurrying them along so that Jielun can get on with the song (I don't say Jolin because that woman hardly did anything, just ruined the song with her stupid vocals).

Even though Jolin's bad attempt at imitating Jielun's style of rapping was really atrocious and sickening to listen to, the song is very catchy and it's fun trying to learn to sing it. And of course, it's a very Jielun song. And his background rap at the end of the song was the diao-est thing I've ever heard in a Jolin Sai (typo intended) song. The way he went, "uh huh" was soooo cool!

I didn't like Jiu Shi Ai. Sounded totally like Shuo Ai Ni. Shuo Ai Ni is catchy but it's not the best song he's ever written. And no, I cannot imagine him singing it; it's so not Jielun. It's too cute for him. He's not the act-cute type, unlike a certain Jolin Tsai. Bleah.

Shuo Ai Ni. I dunno why I like that song, I just find it really nice. Though Jiu Shi Ai is similar I think that the tune just isn't as good and catchy. Jolin was also singing with too much sugar in her mouth and it was just too sweet for me... urgh.. Shuo Ai Ni, she sang it just right..

As for the other songs, between Hai Dao and Bu La Ge Guang Chang, I actually like Hai Dao more. I think it sounds like a more kicking song than Bu La Ge Guang Chang. Of course, Bu La Ge Guang Chang has more of Jay's voice which makes it more worth listening to. But based on which tune I like better, it's definitely Hai Dao.

Qi Shi Jing Shen's tune and arrangement is very Jay style but somehow I think Jolin doen't sound good on it.. Dao Dai and Ni Zhe Me Lian Hua Dou Shuo Bu Qing Chu are pretty normal sounding songs, nothing special

To me, I find Bu La ge guang chang quite catchy.. And the range of the tones of the music are quite small.. Unlike the Jiu Shi Ai... Get what I mean? Jiu Shi Ai is like .. some times sing high note, some times low.. Bu la ge guang chang is constantly singing low notes.. I prefer constant kinda pitch singing.. So.. I voted for bu la ge guang chang...

I like Shuo Ai Ni rhythm alot and that is the only Jolin song which got me press the repeat button on my discman.

Dao Dai got my attention especially the chorus. I could feel the sorrow in the melody and lyrics in it.

Bu La Ge Guang Chang reminded me of Jay's style of music.Hence I love that song alot. I love the way he rapped in it too!

Erm...in conclusion, I still love Shuo Ai Ni the most. The rythm was catchy enough for me! :happy:

Though I like all of JieLun's composition for Jolin (he knows which songs suit Jolin well), I voted for the pop anthem Shuo Ai Ni. It's catchy, danceable, singeable. A perfect formula for a perfect pop song. :wink2:

hi there blue starlight! Shuo Ai Ni is on Jolin's album "MAGIC". But a lot of people know this album as "KAN WO 72 BIAN". Its the first track on that CD, and its the opening song of Jolin's tv series with Alan Luo - Hi Shang Ban Nu Lang. The song Bu Le Ge Guang Chang was played in that series as well.

I like ALL the songs that Jay wrote for Jolin. They're all sweet and cool and great. I especially admire the rap part of Bu Le Ge Guang Chang.

Anyway, if i were to pick another one, it would be Shuo Ai Ni (Say Love You).
Those songs are just so great.
