Anybody fans of Michelle Branch here? She's my favorite female artist! I just LOVE her songs so much because it's so soothing and a breath of fresh air fo me. I love her Hotel Paper album so much! It's such a great album. But I don't approve of her posing so "revealing" for the Maxim magazine. I don't think she should have done that. It made a lot of people loose respect for her.

michelle branch is a great singer. ive only heard 2 of her songs on hotel paper, 'breath' and 'its you', but they were both great.

im surprised she posed for maxim, when was this?

I think she posed for Maxim early in the year. I don't like it, it takes the "innocence" away from her. Breathe and It's You are awesome songs! I like Breathe better though.

I agree with you! I don't have an interest for soft rock but her songs are exceptional. Find Your Way Back and Desperately are amongst my faves!

Maxim is like an adult magazine. It was very freaky when I saw her on the cover almost nude when I was walking by the magazine stands.

yeah, i agree with you all. she's really talented, and shouldn't waste it by posing almost nude, cos i really don't think we need another britney spears, christina aguilera or j.lo. stick to your music, make nice records and ppl will buy it eventually, even without wearing skimpy dresses and stuff like that. :dry:

one of my cousins has subscribed to that mag. i certainly don't buy that kind of crap, but one day i happened to be incredibly bored and picked it up for fun. urgh. big mistake. it's revolting really. most or all females are posing in blatantly revealing thingies (i wouldn't call them clothes... :wacko: ). i think it's probably a little like playboy, if not worse. :dry:

take a look if you're interested in skimpy outfits *yawns*... otherwise don't bother...

Yea, she was pretty naked. i was also very shocked. i'm still not sure why she did it. she also said some things that i thought weren't very appropriate...but given that maxim is a magazine for men....

i don't know. i have mixed feelings about the whole thing. on one hand, it's her choice to pose for whoever she wants. on the other hand, it was pretty gross. overall, i still like her music and go to her concerts every chance i get...i still consider her my favorite american artist :)

Yeah I use to really like and admire her as a musician and as an individual. I really like her style of music and the fact that she can play the guitar and still be cool without using her body to sell her image.. but until she posed for Maxim.. It kind of disappointed me. I didn't like her as much though I admit her music is still good! :happy: I have her Spirit Room and Hotel Paper album too but I prefer Spirit Room more. I guess I like her just for her music now.

well, it's her choice what she does. i just think it's sad that she has to be on the cover for a mag like that. it's hard to find hollywood stars who is able to just concentrate on their work and not use their body to sell themselves. of course she may not be selling herself that way, but she's certainly not "different" from the likes of britney and christina any more.

yeah, i've seen that Maxim issue with Michelle Branch on the cover. i have to say that it didn't fit her image well. i always thought of her as the sweet, girl next door type so i was a lil shocked to see that issue :oops:

moving on to her music, i'd have to say that i like her songs a lot. breathe, one of these days and are you happy now? are my favorites. :happy:

she said somewhere that she felt like she needed to be seen as an beautiful girl....which was why she did that pose. i do not think that it makes her any loose by posing for that pic....and i also do not think that she did that pose just because she wanted to sell more records....people tend to forget that she is just an normal girl....who tends to have insecurities about herself, about her body which was probably why she needed to do that pose....

I think with most celebrities in America, as they "grow up" their image obviously have to change, Take Britney, Mandy, Jessica, Beyonce, and *clear throats* Christina.

That is true msv! I still respect her as much as I did before and if she choose to pose then it's her choice. She's still very talented in my eyes and I love her voice! There was this fan who totally lost respect for her because of what she did and shut off her fansite of Michelle Branch. -_-

Yeah I guess her posing in Maxim is really is her choice... And after reading your comments/views on it.. mine kind of changed.. I guess there really is nothing wrong with showing off your body if you know you have a good body, as long as you don't go over board. I guess her being in Maxim was more shocking for me because of the image she portrayed in the earlier days.

I love the song Breathe too.. and Are You Happy Now is not too bad too.. Her older songs are really good too :happy:

Kind of off topic but I have to comment on this ^^, as for Christina's image.. now I kind of gotten used to her revealing a lot... like I am more in shock when she's all covered up.

I love her music only just recently bought her second album and loving the songs on it especially Tuesday Morning and Desperatley.

I actually think the pictures turned out quite well in Maxim, I don't think any less of her for posing and there's nothing wrong with how she looks, she actually looks hot there, I like the change.

I still love her and her music as much as before, like everyone has said already it's her choice what she wants to do, i'm still gonna go out and buy her albums and everything.


Btw, does anyone know anything abt a 3rd single from hotel paper? i know she's been doing a huge amount of promos since releasing breathe, and she's performed alot of songs from hotel paper, including desperately, hotel paper, til i get over you, empty handed live, but i haven't heard of anything definite.
I hope her next single does well though, she hasn't had nearly as much success as Spirit Room, or not in australia at least.

she joined with her best friend Jessica Harp to form the new band THE WRECKERS..and their new album comes out around June i think. but i'm not sure. You guys can download their song "The Good Kind" from i-tunes.
