O man, the simpsons, i've been thinking about it so many times this week. Does anyone remember the halloween special with pierce brozmen or however you spell his name? Well there was that on Ep. where homer got cursed by the gypsy and he needed to catch a lepruhchaun and he said it was either that or Jesus, and Jesus works alot better, but it 10x harder to find. So than homer digs a hole and puts trix in it, and a whole bunch of trix rabits go in. :laughing: good episode.

But nothing can match with Mr. X or Max Powers.

Homer: theres two ways to do things in this house. The right way, the wrong way and the max powers way.

Bart: Homer, isn't the max powers way the wrong way?

homer: yes but quicker!

i watch it everyday...it's always repeats but it so addictive...haha...and yerr....everything revolves around the simpsons...!!~ i mean, everything you do would remind you of the simpsons or some sort of cartoon..??
but yerr....homer and bart are my favourites..!!~ kaka....but homer's the bomb...he such a funny character...and bart's just...naughty...

bart is a little brat. he's not even funny. if it wasn't for homer, the simpsons wouldn't be very interesting at all in my opinion

i kinda want to show us the old repeats, like the one when bart was being bullied by nelson and then bart have everyone to attack nelson, and then lisa got kissed by a salior boy and she slapped him. that's the espisode iwanted to see again. :wink2:

lots of good episodes so difficult to say favourite however favourite scene is of homer and x-files:

i seached and i ddn't find any topic on it, i just wanna know if anyone watch the show. i know there are some people who think the show is dumb but still and how long have it been on tv?anway, so anyone like the show?or any favorite moment of it? :wink2:

The Simpsons is the longest running animated TV show in history. It is currently in its 15th season (and yes all the characters are the same age, and only 2 characters on the show have been killed off in that time.) In my opinion, it one of America's greatest artistic contributions to the world, as ridiculous as that might sound. The Simpsons have a fan base that spans several generations. On a lower level it is just plain ole comedy, but on a higher level it gives the world an insight into aMerican values and morals, and actively critiques the American way of life. It is truly a beautiful thing.

I have many many many favorite moments, but one of my favorite is the episode where Sidshow Bob escapes form proson and tries to kill bart, and the Simpsons are relocated through the Witness Relocation Program. Anyway, Bon hitches a ride with the Simpsons as they move by riding under the car.

Homer: Hey look, a cactus field. Wanna drive through it?
Bart: yeah
Lisa: yeah
Bob: (muffled under the car, pleadingly) no
Homer: Well, 2 against 1 (not realixing that Maggie can't talk)
Then they drive through the field, haha. And to boot, when they get to the place, Bob unstraos himself walks to the house (covered in cactus needles) and rake after rake keep hitting him in the face. I think it is the longest rake in the face gag in TV hisotry. That moment so random it was hilarious.

yea!! I love the simpsons.. I've always been watching it... They're just such a cute cartoon family.. and all the cartoons are all cool.. and the show is always interesting and never gets boring.. always gives me a good laugh :laughing:

Who doesn't love the Simpsons!!!! They are just adorable and cute!!!!!! Sure, they do random things (i.e. Lisa grows a planet from a plant, Bart turns to a fly and have a killer in Sideshow Bob, Homer is well.... Homer, Marge snaps here and there and Maggie, well you be the judge ^_^), but overall, the Simpson just shows the reality in life, only in a more eccentric and "humerous" sort of way. Heehee, I'd like to thank the Simpsons and their portrayal of literature (the Odysey, Hamlet etc.), how could I survive english without you???

yup, so true that the simpsons could be so random, i think the most random one was when it sarted out with marge trying to grow some veggie in their backyeard but there these crows, then homer became their boss and then it later it turn the espisode about weed. :wink2:

The simpsons are pretty funny. I only watch it when I'm flipping through the channels and it's on. Bart and Homer are the most funniest cartoons. And I've always found it kind of scary that Smithers likes Mr. Burns. :crazy:

I was once watching an episode of it when Bart was like 'Lisa, in the year 2004, we will have 5 fingers'. Then he holds up his hand and you only see 4 fingers. It was pretty funny but I'm still wondering what kind of blind idiot would make them have 4 fingers... :glug:

Yeah, I love the simpsons! I've watched it ever since I was very little, and I watch it nearly everytime its on TV even if its a repeat. It just never ceases to humour me.

I love how the simpsons is not afraid to poke fun at anything, even serious issues, and how it parodys real life and things we're familiar with. If you look at simpsons closely, behind all the little jokes, the issues it deals with can be quite thematic and symbolic. eg. the way it deals with religion

haha i remember the halloween one where they were parodying harry potter. And burns was voldemort and smithers was the snake :laughing:

That episode was just so funny...even though ive watched it heaps i can still laugh at it even though i know whats going to happen...ahahha...The Simpsons will always be cool and has survived on tv for so long already...in school we found out its a satirical cartoon and some of us did an assessment on it...and just by analysing a single episode i realised just how madly satirical it is...The Simpsons is great and its so hard for me to choose a favourite...hahhaha...its so hard...the Simpsons is on everyday and even though its all repeats it still rules..ehehhe...

i also heard theres going to be a Simpsons movie..which will be really cool..i read it in a children's magazine..and they said it will the icing on the cake..which i truely agree...i mean its been running for 15 years already...itll be excellent with a movie...

I'd never be able to decide which episode was my favourite, coz there's just too many parts that I love from it! My friends think I'm crazy because when there's a Simpson's commercial, I sit there basically running the episode through my head and laughing at it!

And not a day goes by where I don't refer back to the Simpsons with my friends! Actually, I'm yet to meet someone who doesn't like Simpsons.

i always like to enjoy the beginning with the whole chalkboard thing, lisa playing her sax and how everyone got there on the couch.

Oh i love the Simpsons. I watch them like everyday when i come back from school. My favorite character would have to be Lisa Simpson. Shes so intelligent for her age. I think shes 8. Not sure though.
Anyways, my favorite episode will have to be the one where Lisa got to see her future. She met this guy named Hugh and at first they had so much competition against each other but later on they fell in love with each other. They were planning to get married but Hugh didnt have a good relationship with Lisa's father, Homer. Hugh thought he was an idiot. Lisa in the end decide not to marry him. So yeah, this was my favorite episode of all time. I like all the episodes though. Really good.

i love the simpsons.. its a hilarous show...
has anyone seen the episode that's supposed to vaguely be like "Lord of the Flies" where the kids get trapped on an island b/c their school bus (w/ otto driving it) somehow got driven into the ocean? hilarous.. i acutally saw that in my English class when were doing that book (LOTF) and i have to say, this line will always be stuck in my head:

wow. so many simpsons supporters :tongue: . i always thought it was pretty high-larious (including the Itchy and Scratchy cartoons XD), but i probably wouldn't tell my PBS-watching 6 year old brother to watch it with me. although he does anyway -_- (i'm such a bad influence on kids).

lol, i know you guys mentioned Sideshow Bob and his archenemy, the rake.. ralph eating all sorts of weird stuff (crayons, worms.. you name it), and of course, Mr. Burns's "excelleeeeent."

even my ENGLISH teacher from last year complimented the writers of the simpsons, saying (and i quote) that they were "very well-read." it's true o.o, they create parodies of popular fiction and folklore (for one, Edgar Allen Poe's the Raven was in a halloween episode, their own rendition of Hamlet, and they also did the short story about time travel and its consequences. i forgot the name, however x.x).

reruns are even better XD!

Yea simpsons writing is superb and it is very funny. You can watch an episode multiple times and find new jokes. And sometimes you have to know a certain event or a certain person to understand a joke, otherwise it just seems like dialogue.

Another show like Simpsons I love is Family Guy. Family Guy is HILARIOUS. I have to say more so than the simpsons =P. Even though Family Guy is not as great writing as Simpsons, they always make me crack up and keep laughing for an extended period. Simpsons usually doesnt do that for me. =P

i love the simpsons! or the old ones at least. :happy: one of my favorite moments was the hockey episode when bart and lisa had the flashback while their teams were tied. they were both eating ice cream as babies and then lisa's ice cream fell off her cone and she started crying. bart, having a double scoop pokes one of his scoops onto her cone and lisa laughs. so cute! :bleh:

I love the Simpsons! My favourite characters are Milhouse and Ralph. I do kind of feel that the quality of the show has declined in the past years though. I can watch the old episodes forever! I use Simpsons' quotes all the time too, like, "The goggles! They do nothing!" Man...that show rules...

hey guys sorry to join in the discussion so late but i was talking to a friend before and the apparently the reason why the simpsons are so funny and everyone loves them is cos they're ur typical nuclear family...i.e 2.5 kids.....thats why maggie never grows up!

bart, ur typical dennis the menace type kid who has a cute innocent face

lisa, ur typical over-achiever that hardly gets any attention

and maggie, that makes up the 0.5 in 2.5......

homer, ur average alcoholic slob who hates working

and as to the debate about Smitthers being gay........OMG u guys didn't u see the episode Queer Eye Homer? where smitthers lives in the gay district and is wheeling around in roller skates and a rainbow coloured outfit?!

he is definately gay and has a super crush on Mr Burns...remember in that episode where Mr Burns gets crushed by the rock that is shaped like someone's face and it falls down cos Homer decided to remove the tree on the side of the rock's face??? smitthers had a tattoo on his chest of mr burns's face and it says 'boss of my heart'........

the movie was great, it wasnt anything amazing but it was great. it had its moments. most of them were homer moments. i laughed so hard during the moment where he was dancing with the eskimo woman. hahaha.

anyways love love the simpsons. i grew up with this show and i honestly think its like the longest running cartoon on tv right now. its on its like 9th season or something.
