I'm trying to make a poll to pick a site song and other stuff, but don't know where to classify these songs. Some of them seem to fit in more than one, but I need to put them in ONE only.
Given pop, R&B, hip-hop, ballad, rap, rock, where would you classify these songs? If they don't fit into these categories, make a new one. But TRY to fit them in the given categories.
Perfectionism (Wan Mei Zu Yi)
Indian Old Bird (Yin Di An Na Lao Ban Jiu)
Counter Clockwise (Fan Fang Xiang De Zhong)
William Castle (Wei Lian Gu Bao)
The Orcs (Ban Shou Ren)
Dragon Fist (Long Quan)
Grandfather's Tea (Ye Ye Pao De Cha)
Blacksmith of Milan (Mi Lan De Shiao Tie Jia)
Rice Fields (Ti Tian)
Double Sabre (Shuang Dao)
EDIT: Here (http://www.jay-chou.net/songs.htm) is a prelim categorizing

This is HARD, Karen, because Jay's songs are not meant to fit into any ONE category! They're in a category of their own! Anyhow, I'll try but this is just MY opinion...
Perfectionism (Wan Mei Zu Yi) - POP
Indian Old Bird (Yin Di An Na Lao Ban Jiu) - POP
Counter Clockwise (Fan Fang Xiang De Zhong) - BALLAD
William Castle (Wei Lian Gu Bao) - HIP-HOP
The Orcs (Ban Shou Ren) - HIP-HOP
Dragon Fist (Long Quan) - RAP
Grandfather's Tea (Ye Ye Pao De Cha) - POP
Blacksmith of Milan (Mi Lan De Shiao Tie Jia) - POP
Rice Fields (Ti Tian) - RAP
Double Sabre (Shuang Dao) - ROCK
I'm confused now.

I know...it's hard...
Most of those I agree, but I would have put:
Perfectionism (Wan Mei Zu Yi) - HIP-HOP
Counter Clockwise (Fan Fang Xiang De Zhong) - POP
Dragon Fist (Long Quan) - ROCK
I don't know the easiest way to do the poll.
If I classify songs into more than 1 category, I'll have like Perfectionism up against Simple Love if we categorize Perfectionism as POP as well, since Simple Love is definitely POP
And if you listen to those 2 songs, the style is like night and day.
I'll go categorize them all now, maybe that would make it easier for people to agree, disagree.
EDIT: Here (http://www.jay-chou.net/songs.htm) is a prelim categorizing

Long Quan (Dragon Fist) would have to be Rock. It's very guitar driven, like Nun Chuks, Nuo Fu and Shuang Dao.
Indian Old Bird - I never really could get this song. This is unclassifiable for me. It suits pop more though.
Ti Tian (Rice Fields) -definitely rap, now that I think of it, it's more of hip-hop. Aww, what's the difference between rap and hip hop?:?
Mi Lan De Shiao Tie Jia (Blacksmith of Milan) - would have to be hip-hop to me, the intro suits that genre.;
I agree about Wan Mei Zhu Yi. If you're going to compare it to Jian Dan Ai and you're going to classify them into one genre, it's crazy. I would have to say, Wan Mei Zhu Yi, is Hip-Hop.
There are so many classifications of music nowadays and to add Jay's compositions are so diverse in sounds that it's hard to classify them into one category. *sighs*

I had a hard time deciding between those and what I'd posted above. For me, it was between one or the other. It was hard. I changed them so many times before I finally clicked the submit button. The problem with Jay's songs is that different parts or elements of the same song could fall into different categories/genres.
kahel: About the rap and hip-hop difference:

http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/joto/RapHipHopDiff.html

Basically, Hip-Hop music doesn't necessarily has any rapping and Rap music does not necessarily has Hip-Hop beats. The difference is in the beats, bassline, and scratches. It's hard to explain!

Its hard to classify songs into one specific genre nowadays... Nowadays genres artists always blend genres into genres to make things more creative, unique, special, interesting, etc. Like how Limp Bizkit Raps in their rock songs.
I sort these songs by how Jay sings. the tempo/beat of every word sung. The songs are generally too slow to classify them as rap anyway. There're still some singing in Hip-Hop and nowadays its not unusual to find some R&B in Hip-Hop music. So i believe Jay's music fall mostly into this category
Perfectionism (Wan Mei Zu Yi) - POP
Indian Old Bird (Yin Di An Na Lao Ban Jiu) - POP
Counter Clockwise (Fan Fang Xiang De Zhong) - POP
William Castle (Wei Lian Gu Bao) - POP
The Orcs (Ban Shou Ren) - Hip-Hop
Dragon Fist (Long Quan) - Rap/Rock
Grandfather's Tea (Ye Ye Pao De Cha) - Hip-Hop/R&B
Blacksmith of Milan (Mi Lan De Shiao Tie Jia) - Hip-Hop/R&B
Rice Fields (Ti Tian) - Rap
Double Sabre (Shuang Dao) - Rap/Rock
Hard to categorise, cause the music Jay produces is just so typically different from traditional. Maybe that explains his talent.
I agree with BiG^rOn. Music is hard to classify now because there are so many different kinds and you can't always classify one song in one genre. But here are my thoughts anyways.
Perfectionism (Wan Mei Zu Yi) - HIP-HOP
Indian Old Bird (Yin Di An Na Lao Ban Jiu) - POP
Counter Clockwise (Fan Fang Xiang De Zhong) - POP
William Castle (Wei Lian Gu Bao) - HIP-HOP
The Orcs (Ban Shou Ren) - HIP-HOP
Dragon Fist (Long Quan) - ROCK
Grandfather's Tea (Ye Ye Pao De Cha) - POP
Blacksmith of Milan (Mi Lan De Shiao Tie Jia) - HIP-HOP
Rice Fields (Ti Tian) - RAP
Double Sabre (Shuang Dao) - ROCK

This is ...REALLY HARD to do. But I think it's fun so I shall try.
Perfectionism (Wan Mei Zu Yi) - hip-hop
Indian Old Bird (Yin Di An Na Lao Ban Jiu) - pop
Counter Clockwise (Fan Fang Xiang De Zhong) - r&b
William Castle (Wei Lian Gu Bao) - rap
The Orcs (Ban Shou Ren) - hip-hop
Dragon Fist (Long Quan) - rock
Grandfather's Tea (Ye Ye Pao De Cha) - pop
Blacksmith of Milan (Mi Lan De Shiao Tie Jia) - r&b
Rice Fields (Ti Tian) - ...r&b (okay, this really could be anything and the only reason why I say r&b is because it's too slow to be hip-hop, too monotone to really count as rap, not slow enough to be ballad and I really don't think it's pop)
Double Sabre (Shuang Dao) - rock
That is REALLY hard. The only one I was sure for my choice was Ye ye pao de cha.

Actually, I think Long Quan and Nunchucks are more rap/rock fusion. But I would be more inclined to classify them as rap because these 2 songs had no melodies... just like Ren Zhe. Rock music is harmony-based. Even though they use a rock instrument (electric guitar), but they're more concentrated on the beats rather than the harmony of the songs. So, I would categorized them as Rap. Anyway, just up to my humble knowledge in music.

I had read on a website that Jay had made Hip hop and R'n'B this main theme. I don't really know what type of genre music are in, but, i can only tell what kind of music is Hip0Hop, lol

First of all, Ballad and R&B are very similar, also Hip hop and Rap. I like to keep my Genres simple.
I wouldn't consider any of his songs hip-hop. All are either R&B/Pop or Rock. In my iTunes, I just category his songs as Mandarin.
