I just had a listen to Kangta yesterday (finally :sweat:) I was so curious about him but never downloaded a file because my friend promised me a Korean CD. Oh well, I finally got it yesterday. :excited:

It had two tracks of Kangta (Confession, Memories 2). I love "Confession". :love: Does anybody have lyrics for this?:? Kangta's voice is impressive, I have to say. :happy:

and he's crying because he went through this entire gameshow being tricked....there were even fake gangsters going at his friends from group S!!---plus he shows his emotions easily (raised that way) so thats why he cried. :cry: he cried twice there! once when the fake gangsters first started to be mean, then when he found out it was all a trick!

I've noticed that K-pop is very western. Hmmm, and Kangta's voice is like that of most J-rockers I know. I really love it. :happy:

and about romanized lyrics, i know! i'm sorta trying to learn to sing Polaris - my fave Kangta's song - and still no success. I'm so bad at Korean haha. i don't seem to pronounce it the right way, but Lisa did manage to learn "I swear" (S) and she did so good! you can't even tell that she doesn't know Korean!

kahel: erm...yeah, its hard to learn how to read konglish *sighs* took me a while to figure it out. too but i do remember that if you see "ee" you make a "ie" sound, and "oo" then its "ooh" sound...etc. i bet im just confusing you more :sweat: but that site has a tutorial too :wink2: but yeah, lisa is great at it!

hmm...yeah, i think korea got westernized a lot earlier than china or japan, its really noticeable, as theres already major rappers (sorta) in korea, but in china...i think its still mainly poppish. but R&B is getting in now too...i

yeah, i agree that Korean music is more westernized, and i guess more r&bish. when i just came to China, i was like: what's wrong with all their singers??? i mean all of their songs are so pop! and they all cry in their songs, just too many crying! i love romantic songs, but not THAT many!
and i was lucky to find out about Jay!!!
as for Shinhwa, they are considered pop, but they are good pop! not like Chinese.
Kangta is more in jazz, and although i don't like jazz that much, Kangta is really good! i just enjoy listening to his voice!

i'm really loving kangta's voice. :happy: just listening to his Pine Tree album again. heehee... his voice is so soothing. it really suits the ballad genre and the jazz stuff is great, too. :D i can't tell what songs were written by him on that album cuz from the aheeyah site, it doesn't say. but for the few songs i have of his first album, i really like Polaris, My Life, and Last Summer Night and all three songs were written/composed/arranged by him according to that lyrics site. :excited: i guess that means he did the lyrics and music in addition to the arrangement. that's so cool! i especially love the songs that have piano, violin, or guitar parts. :love:

i think i like Pine Tree album more than Polaris album, but Polaris is still my all time fave song of Kangta!
today i was listening to Kangta in class and it attracted attention of my Korean classmates, they were like: wow! we never thought that someone here can like Korean music!
that guy who sells me CDs brought more, but no more CDs of Shinhwa or Kangta. but i bought one of Heejoon. haven't listened to it yet. He looks really weird on the cover though, with red lipstick on and red hair...
i'm not sure if i like all the songs, but i heard his song Generous and it was good. (well, actually, it's Romeo and Juliet's theme, so not exactly HIS song, but his version is nice too)

his Pine Tree album is sooo good!! it's hard to narrow down recommendations. from that album, i like Memories, Propose, Confession, Memories #2, 2032 In Cuba, Pine Tree, etc. from his first album, i like Polaris, My Life, Last Summer Night from the few songs i've heard. :happy:

Sinny mei, Kangta is great! His voice is amazing! check out download's thread like Lisa said. and yes, his Pine Tree album is just too good! i recommend each song in it! Memories, Memories#2, Propose, PIne tree, 2032 in Cuba is great, etc...

The man has amazing dance moves..I swear he can do anything:break dance, lock and pop, etc. I also think he's cute :blush: He's even set up a dance school called Newest. If you want, I can upload some of JTL's MV's so that you can see their moves (all choreographed by Woo Hyuk) and some dance videos that I have of back-up dancers performing the dances, so you can see how amazing they are. My friends and I were trying to dance to 'Enter the Dragon'...we were all hopelessly lost :laughing:

Btw, speaking of dancing, did you know that Kangta started out in SM as a back-up dancer? I'm not sure for who..but he was discovered at Lotte World, a theme park in Korea.

patya: did you check to make sure that all the parts are the correct size? :? they should be 4.76MB each except for the very last part. if the d/l got cut off for any part, the extraction won't go smoothly. you might have to redownload some parts. lemme know if you still have problems. maybe i can send it to you or something. =)

alright, i rewatched the Ji Ai and A song for a lady MVs. :happy: now i can understand the Ji Ai MV better. i think, like rosie said, eugene was part of that gang. maybe she pick-pockets or something. that's why she stole that first guy's wallet. and then kangta's. but she returned kangta's later. got yelled at and beaten up by the boss probably cuz she didn't hand that wallet over. anyway, that other guy who always came to her rescue... i think he was also part of the gang. maybe he liked her or treated her as a younger sister or something. that's why he's so protective. ok, i'm not too sure what's going on at the end. eugene looked pretty roughed up when tossed out of the car into the puddle. and then it just show kangta at the seashore with the necklace hanging from his bike. did eugene die? :unsure: oh yeah, besides kangta looking very cute here, i really liked that part when he was writing on the beach with his bike. :) that was very sweet. :love:

for the A song for a lady MV, it's just so sad... :cry: all the guys sang with such emotion! and the way kangta looks out at you when crooning all those lines of 'i love you's was just... :depresse: so heart-wrenching. and at the end when Song Hye Gyo passes away on Song Seung Hun's back, it was so sad. *sobs* you can see the pain in his eyes. =( and then he just said he really loves her. awww... major tear-jerker. now i really wanna watch Autumn Tale. =0

Lisa, i finally watched Ji Ai! oh! it's so sad!!! i think Eugene dies, that's why they showed Kangta in the end with that necklace hanging on his bike. sort of "good-bye" thing maybe, i don't know.
Kangta is soooooooooo cute in this MV!!! the expression in his eyes just make me :love: :love: :love: ! yeah, i like the part where he was riding a motorcycle on the beach! I loved the MV and the song is beautiful too!

hey peeps, you know this Pepsi Feng Yun award show at the end of March where Jay nabbed a number of awards as mentioned in this thread (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9736)? kangta was also there!!! :excited: i was browsing for some taya piccies today and saw some pics at that show. he was on stage presenting with an HK actress named Athena Chu. he also performed. i also saw a pic of Eason Chen. i guess the award taya was presenting with athena was for eason. i think BoA was there as well. i didn't even know so many stars were in china for that award show. :D

While in Beijing, i bought two Kangta VCDs, one of them is with songs that he sang in his concert and the other one is with the TV show. remember that clip where Sungie wants to kiss Kangta and than Ji HOon stand in his way, but then Sungie and Kangta push him away and Sungie kisses Kangta? well this show is on that VCD.

i was watching H.O.T concert today and Kangta sang "Right here waiting", "Only you" and "Let it be"!!! oh! i'm so in love with his voice!!! I don't know anyone who can sing better than him. As much as i like Sungie's voice, i don't think even he can compare with Kangta. His voice just makes me cry and laugh. When i heard him sing "Right here waiting" i couldn't stop tears, really! So touching!!!

besides...it doesnt really matter if you know when it'll be released, because you cant buy it beforehand, correct? :wink2:

i can listen to ogg formats on winamp. i think my version of I Was should be ok though. cuz i got the whole album when rosie uploaded it a while back. :happy: so, i think should be ok. sometimes it's just a bit hard to tell cuz S blends in so well.

oh yeah, do you guys have songs from his first album? i got the Pine Tree album cuz rosie posted it. but from his first album, i only have tracks 3-5 & 11 (Polaris, Thanks God, My Life, and Last Summer Night). i'm trying to get track 15 (Polaris instrumental) over at shinhwa sarang, but i'm just wondering if you guys have other songs from his first album. =)

i found a live version of Polaris sung by kangta and hyesung. it's a converted file from the video clip apparently. but the ending is cut off though. it's only around 2:30 in duration, so not sure if you guys are interested.

Singer Kangta transforms into an actor and enters China

Recently Kangta revealed "At around June, I may be participating in a Chinese drama. The title of the drama is as of yet not made but for each episode I will be recieving about 12 million won (approx. 11 thousand USD)".

If Kangta does appear in this drama, it will be Kangta's official debut into acting. But recieving that amount of money for a debuting actor shows the amount of popularity Kangta has in China.

Up till now as Kangta had been busy with singing schedules, he had not officially appeared in any proper dramas. Last year Kangta stated "I dont have any thoughts on acting right now. Right now I'd like to focus on singing activities." However, now that he has recieved a proper invitation, he had decided to properly persue acting.

Kangta's management SM Entertainment stated on the 12th "It's true we have been viewing the scenarios sent from China. However we havent decided on a specific one yet." The drama Kangta will be acting is seen to be revealed in about May.

haha bee... i've been playing around with photoshop and wanna make interestingly-shaped banners... and the avie was inspired by one that i saw someone else has. i use a transparent layer as the background in photoshop so there aren't any edges. :happy: as for the avie, you just need to take 3 parts from the pic. try to get the dimensions just right and outline them. =)

and your banners don't suck at all. i really like your work, bee!! i was wowed. it's true! :D and i have a ton of stuff to watch as well. guess i'm just stocking up for now. :bleh: btw, if there are any files that you're missing, i should have them. maybe we should try the AIM thing again cuz scarletwillow sent me a huge file and it was way faster than MSN.

thanks for the tips! i dunno if i can do that...its pretty difficult to get the right dimensions when using GIMP...its a painful process. you liked the backgrounds? well i made the kangta one by cutting out his figure from his pic with tropicleaves, and the background from his street picture, hehe. i liked how it looked smudged in that pic, so i cut out the background to use. and i made the minwoo one by cutting out the tree and leaves from the kangta tropicleaves pic, and the sungie one by cutting him from the japanfreeperf pic, and the background was actually originally trees from his time in turkey!!! LOL i just smudged them to make it look cool. =P arent i weird??

Lisa, Hangzhou is very nice. In the centre of it is situated the famous lake Xihu. It's very beautiful and peaceful there. We went to the silk market there. It's really really big, we got so tired after shopping there.
My Mom and Grandma bought lots of silk scarfs, pillow covers with traditional chinese ornaments! and lots of more stuff.
and they actually do have to buy a new suitcase :laughing: . Today we went to the market in Shanghai and looked for good suitcases, but haven't found anything yet.
yes, i saw traditional tops there too! i bought myself a pair too :).
I love traditional chinese costumes too! not the very bright ones, but those white and blue ones are really neat!

actually, bee... the shooting scene is really short. i don't even know what's going on. it's like these gangsters. and has something to do with this girl. it's a dark-themed MV. the song is supposed to be Gajuno's Song (a character in that drama, i suppose). maybe that's why it's more rock feel. the girl does some crazy stuff with a gun for revenge as well. :glug:

Alec Su is pretty good. i watched him recently in a kungfu drama series called Yi Tian Tu Long Ji. the drama is very popular and has been done by many generations of actors. it's one of the series that Jin Yong wrote. :happy: anyway, he's a singer, too. he was one of the 4 Taiwan Small Heavenly Kings with Jimmy Lin, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Nicky Wu. and he was also in the popular drama series Huan Zhu Ge Ge with Vicki Zhao, i believe. also in other drama series with Vicki. i haven't watched them, but i think he's a pretty good actor. actually, sometimes when i see pics of Alec, it reminds me of Minwoo. :bleh: haha... like the pic that jessca had a lil' while ago with Minwoo propping up his chin with blonde hair in a grey sweater against a red background. :)

i just watched the clips of kangta at the GMAs. :excited: the presentation part with vivian was so cute!! you get to hear him speak english. :love: which i think sounds quite good. and his mandarin is pretty good in pronunciation, too. he was pretty smart to pick up from vivian's cue. =P i think he really should make a chinese version of a couple of his popular songs. like Polaris or something. the way shinhwa has a couple of songs in mandarin. they'd be a big hit with his chinese fans. :yeah: btw, have you heard anyone mentioning that the performances were lip-synched? :? i think i read somewhere about not wanting anything to go wrong at the GMAs... (i know lee hom's perf. was real though.) so, the korean stars' performances were lip-synched... like BoA, for instance. i haven't watched her clips set. and DBSG as well. haven't watched them either. :sweat: but taya oppa also looked like he had to lip-sync. :oops: just didn't feel right when i watched the clip. :unsure: anyway, at least i know he can sing live and sounds awesome. :)

My favorite performances are - Falling in Love, Polaris, HOT's songs and Memories!!!
if only you heard him perform Polaris!!! He made me cry!!! :cry: it was smth unbelievable! i never knew that a person could sing like THAT!!! It's like he holds my heart in his hands and does whatever he wants with it using his voice!!!

hehe, no, I don't like him more than my Dongwannie!!! I love him differently! Kangta just has a voice that makes me go crazy!!! I love Dongwannie for his personality, for his smile, for his kindness, for his being dorky sometimes, haha, and i like his voice, although it's not that good as Sungie's and Taya's, but it's really low and sexy.
but yeah, like you said, Kangta is a little bit behind Dongwannie and it'll stay this way. Dongwannie oppa is my love :love:

Patya jie! Finally, you had your copy of the pine tree concert! Youre reminding me of watching it again. Haha lol but ill definitely watch it again as soon as vacation starts. I also loved the part where he sang with the 3 other guys it was so good!
