anyone here listen to maroon 5? they're the best band ever!! i dig their alternative-ish/punk-ish/soul-ish kind of music (i.e. this love, she will be loved, harder to breathe) not to mention, their lead vocalist is so so so hot :love:

i wish they would come here in asia for a tour or something.. i would definitely buy first row tickets :happy:

I was browsing Manila's local Tower Records when Maroon 5's album was played on the background. They sounded so good, two songs later I was buying their album. :wink2: I think they have a distinct sound that separates them from the rest. Interesting use of melodies and guitar riffs. Their sound is very refreshing, I like it.

I highly recommend their album. Buy it. :wink2:

i think they're from NYC, they were formerly known as kara's flowers until they left reprise and renamed themselves as maroon 5 (maroon 5 sounds wayyyyyy better anyway). their current album which is entitled songs about jane, is a real must-have. fronted by the ever so hot adam levine, jesse carmichael on keyboards, mickey madden for bass, ryan dusick for drums and james valentine (guitarist).

Yea i've heard of Maroon 5 before,but i dont really know how they look like coz i havent had the chance to see their faces. :oops: Their "This Love" is pretty cool though-the radio station here plays it everyday..Ahh..it's good to hear that they are no typical boyband since they play their own instruments and that the lead vocal's voice isnt the boyish-typed voice. :happy:

haha ive only heard one song by them that was recommended by a friend that i like a lot, "She will be loved"...i really like the mellow tone, the chorus is really good...i personally dun like the guy's voice too much...but it sounds really good in that chorus..any other recommendations ? ^_^

yea! Maroon 5 rocks! Yea, my favorites are "This Love" and "Harder to Breathe." Their songs are really catchy, but not in the typical "boy-band" way. And i LOVE their unique voices. They've got the kind of voice where you can tell its by Maroon 5 if you just listen to the song! Does anyone have the CD? or has anyone heard anything about it? en-en, the reason the song MV is very sensual is that girl is Levine's real life gf and the song is about his x-gf (Jane). actually the album is all about jane, i guess he was very heartbroken when she left him.

i like the two singles very much. still thinking about geting the album tho, becoz i haven't heard the rest of the album.

misc. info on levine: he's a HUGE fan of nelly furtado; he doesn't know if he wants to marry her or collaborate with her. that's so cute.

Maroon 5 is really cool. Of course they have been around for wuite awhile before they made it big, and are now international which is super cool. Jimmy Valentine went to my high school, I know the guy :) . He taught a few of my friends to play guitar. That's right, alot of the creative genius behind the bad is right out of Lincoln, NE my hometown, haha. It is kinda our claim to fame this year.

Personally my fav song is Harder to Breath. They rock. Hope they make it to Jimmy's hometown soon :yeah: .

I really want their CD now. I saw 'This Love' on TV the other night and then two seconds later, I found myself downloading the track. I rarely go out to buy american music but I think this time it'll be an exception. :) Maroon 5 is soooo good! I really really REALLY like Levine's voice. Alot of my friends say that his voice is all scratchy and high and sounds like he's on helium but I totally disagree.

"this love" is a really catchy song, but for some reason it just annoys me...i like the tune and rhythm of it and all, but his voice is kind of annoying. it does make them unique though, i'll give them that, but there's just something about that song that annoys me. i don't know, it's very odd.

I think "She Will Be Loved" is possibly one of the most beautiful songs in the world. I think Adam has the most perfect voice for that kinda song (and also Courtney Murphy from Australian Idol). It's so touching and I adore the lyrics.

Simple Black Humour: If you're a pop person, I wouldn't suggest that you get the CD cause Maroon 5 are alternative rock. But if you like songs that fit that genre, then by all means get it.

And personally, I think "Harder To Breathe" is exceptionally good. And I like "Sunday Morning"...it's funky in an obscure, quirky way :wink2:

Stupid schoolmates were singing it all week long, Monday to Friday, that it really ended up being super glued in my head. :P

amdawn , hahah, that's the total opposite for me! I like how the lead singer can hit the high notes and his tone/pitch control is awesome. He sorta reminds me of Daniel Beddingfield (guy who sang, "if you're not the one") except with a rockish/jazzy twist to his voice instead.
