YG Family (Lexy, 1TYM, Wheesung, and more)

Hey guys, I've just recently gotten into YG Family, and I noticed that there isn't a thread on them here yet, so I went ahead and made one :) For those of you who don't know...YG is a korean entertainment company that has mostly rap or R&B artists on their labe. The artists include Lexy, 1TYM, Jinusean, Perry, Wheesung, Se7en, Masta Wu, Big Mama, and G-Dragon. Right now, the only ones that I like are 1TYM, Lexy and Se7en...I haven't gotten around to checking out the other artists yet.

Oh, so those artists are yg family. Ok. I like a few of them. I haven't really heard of G-dragon, perry, or masta wu. And I have never heard of Big mama. What a funny name. LOL!

Rosiean, so you haven't gotten into Wheesung yet? I've only heard a couple of songs but they sound really awesome. I love "With Me." I am starting to really like him. I must upload some of his stuff for you.

Oh man, I have been loving 1 Tym for awhile now. All their songs are really really good. Yep, "One Love" is great. "Nasty" is a classic. Edison did a cover of "Make it last." I like Ed's version a tad better though he heh.

I had a cd of some Jinusean songs but I haven't listened to it for awhile. However, if my memory serves me correct, he has some good stuff.

As for Lexy, I think I've only heard one song by her that I can remember. The Let me dance one. It's a good track, I like it a lot.

And Se7en! Ahhh...I am so in love with him. He's my fave. So, does he write or produce any of his stuff? Just wondering...because they are so good. He is so young and talented! I can go on and on about him. He can dance really well. But not better than Minu! he he. Naw...they both have different styles.

I'm gonna go search for some stuff on Perry right now. He seems interesting.

Yea Kailien, it's hard for me to get into the hard-core rapping that Masta Wu and the others do..:sweat: however I will check out Wheesung if you uppload!

Se7en is pretty good..but sometimes I think he's overrated. As far as I know, he doesn't write his own stuff. He does work hard though..he trained for a long time before debuting..and YG rejected him so many times before he finally made it.

Of course Minwoo's the better dancer :bleh:

The only Jinusean song that I heard was the duet that they did with Yuki Hsu, called "You Guan Shi' (It Matters). They rapped in english..it was actually pretty funny :D

I can upload the Lexy album if you want..also the MV for 'Let Me Dance'. I've been stuck on that song for awhile now..it's so catchy! And it's a plus that Teddy raps in it too..he's soo hot! That ghetto style is really sexy..and he's got the cutest smile. :blush:

Hmm...I don't think I've ever heard the Yuki and Jinusean duet. Is it on her latest album?

I know you upload a lot of stuff. So, I don't want to burn you out. But if you have time I would love to hear Lexy's album.

Have you seen the Masta Wu video that has Se7en in it? I think the song is called "White." It's pretty good. I have a nice quality one. If you want to see it, I'll upload it for you. :wink2:

YG Family is pretty good~ Lexy and 1Tym are good. I'm not sure about the rest though. Wheesung is kind of cute but I haven't heard much of his music.

i dont know much about Wheesung, but i've heard some of his songs, and i really liked them :)
G-Dragon, i think the only song i've heard from him was from the intro of the Se7en album, because he was featured in it. i didnt like it that much :glug: but i cant form an opinion yet i suppose, lol.

Thanks for the MV Kailien! :flower: It's a great song, and he sings it with a lot of emotion..the ending was sad too.

The only thing I know about G-Dragon is that he's really young and looks like a girl in some pics :bleh:

Yea, I've noticed that. I have the MV of her duet with Jinusean. It doesn't seem like she's that popular though, so I wonder why they pick her to do with duets with? :?

Hahaha, Se7en running like a girl? I can picture that :rolleyes: He is..kinda girly overall. Sorry Viv! >_< But you know, my friends all made fun of the way Jay runs also. From the Ni Ting De Dao MV, when he's chasing the girl...and the Qing Tian MV, when he grabs the girl and they run..they all said he ran like a girl too :cry: I didn't think so though.

I've recently explored Korean music and one of the few songs I have is 1Tym's "Without You". This song is really catchy, I had the pleasure of seeing the MV too while watching Arirang, our local cable's Korean channel. :happy:

I would love to hear more of 1Tym. There's this one Korean rap group that has a song or their name has the word "high".:? I hope somebody could give me an idea who they are.

I'm so in love the YG family's entertainers. They really are close to one another as you can see how they supported each other's album promotional activities. However I wanna clarify that Wheesung is not directly under YG management (hence he's not listed in the YG website) but under M-Boat which is the sister company of YG. YG artists are more into hip-hop genre while M-boat artists sings mostly R&B songs.

My favourite YG artists will be the ever adorable but definitely not innocent se7en and Jinusean. I love Taebin and 1TYM too but not that much. :oops:

YG family is one of the best companies i think. I so love their entertainers! I'm not that much into Wheesung, but some of his songs are good.

JinuSean cracks me up. I only have "Phone Number" by them, but it was such a fun song! I especially liked the mv and how it seemed like a party with all of YG included. I like how close everyone is to each other. I have to admit that Wheesung sort of freaks me out just a little. I didn't really like him when he was on the norewah show or when he did that dance competition with Se7en against Minwoo and ... Junjin. Yeah. -_-

I unfortunately don't know much about Perry, G-Dragon, or ... Masta Wu?

I listen mostly to 1TYM (Taebin as an off shoot) and Se7en. ^^;;

Jinusean are good too. but i tend to like their new stuff to the older songs. How Deep is Your Love and Tell Me are classics though. :D

As for Lexy, i dont like her singing live >< Her album wasnt bad, but it was the odd song like Let me Dance (teddys influence) that left an impression on me.

Is Gdragon 17 yet? :unsure: he was soooo cute in the Sinsa MV! hehehe..i think he was 13-ish then. ive only heard him on the intro to Se7ens 1st jib and hes got a great rapping voice. i dont think hes released an album yet, which would mean hes still training under YG.

But like Lyne said, i love this record company cos of the close ties. every single jib has collaborations and theyre always promoting together <3 unfortunately, they cant promote all their gasoos with equal attention all the time, and it means other artists like swit and xo are rarely heard of ><

YG are going to be massive, so this thread needs to be revived XD why are they going to be big? youve got a whole load of trainees set to debut, if youve been on the yg sites, youll get the pop-ups :D

i havent heard many of them yet - dying to find out more about Eddie - but ive heard veeeery good things about them. i respect YG and m-boat artists so much, these guys are soo talented and they work so darn hard. =X

and theyre trained so unbelievably well to deal with it!! they arent given a lot of exposure, but just enough. like GDYB - theyre 17, and theyve both rapped for wheesung and been on stage with se7en. Gdragon has been with YG for yeeeears..he must have only been a baby when he rapped in Sinsa...no older than 13. i cant wait for him to have his own album with Taekkie, and im sure other YG fans are waiting for it too. :excited:

but the others..Hyun Suk knows how to find them, and he knows how to keep them wrapped up until theyre ready. and then you get people like Perry and Teddy composing, fellow YG-ers to guest star in the odd track or two, and youve got a hit debut album.

theyre catching up with SMtown. :rolleyes: 1tym will be back properly now that Teddy doesnt need to disappear every few months, Se7ens got a good few years before he needs to leave for NS...and then youve got this new lot ready to debut. jinusean will be so proud XD give them a couple of years and YG will be dominating kpop. :tongue:

I went onto the YG website and couldn't find anything :?...then I went onto his website but the pictures are like tranlusent so there was stuff in the background.....Choi Wheesung is one guy :happy: he used to be part of a short-lived boyband called A4 (or A1..cant remember ><) before going solo. hes not actually a member of YG Entertaiment, but of mboat, which is the sister company of YG.

i dont know of any forums dedicated to him, but theres a fanlisting around. mboat gasoos dont place that much emphasis on promotional activities - theyre about 'real music', so i'm guessing there arent many photoshoots etc.

Jecka, yeah, me wubs Mboat artists, they all have such nice voices. and i love how they concentrate on music.

no problem :D i know its confusing to differentiate between mboat and YG and now YBM :wacko:

WANTED released one album "Like the First" under mboat, consisted of 4 guys but only 3 of them performed on stage, with Jun Sung Hwan being the writer and producer. then last August, there was a car accident. Jae Ho passed away and Jae Suk was left in a coma. their album is seriously amazing, and its such a shame people started paying attention after the accident.

patya nyanya - yeh. im so glad they have their album...we can keep wanted alive that way <3 and i really hope Dong Kyun can continue singing some day. =)
