i live in Chicago, Il in usa. and i was wondering if there were any radio stations near here that are chinese. or mayb if theres any GOOD chinese radio stations online or something?

my favorite stations are...

103.5 Kiss FM
96.3 B96

Not sure what good this would do as a thread since there are different radio stations in every state/province/big city...

But to answer your question, my favorites are FM96.1 and 99.3 The Fox. ^^

Edit: Okay I live in British Columbia, Canada.

I'm in Hartsville, South Carolina (tiny town that my boarding school is in)...

My fave radio station by far is 91.3, NPR National Public Radio. It's educational :)

Mainly news, "intelligent" radio programming, and classical music.

well, i go to www.hitfm.com.tw to listen to live streaming radio. it plays some chinese, krn, japanese, and english songs.

hmm...here in nor cali, my favorite is 107.9fm, which is a top 4o radio station, 106.5 a rock station, 103.5,102.5 and 106.1 the rest is just rap-hiphop stations :wink2:

I am also from BC Canada (same as Viv^^) and I'll also like to add Z95.3FM (English station, tends to overplay songs sometimes but it's pretty good if you want a variety), 1470AM (multicultural station but I listen mostly when it's Cantonese airtime.. they play some popular Chinese music ones in awhile :happy: ) and 94.5 The Beat (English, which is my new fave station now since they are starting to play more various songs).

I live in Dallas, TX, and my favorite radio station (if I listen to them at all, cuz they suck lately) are Wild 100.3 and 106.1 KISS FM. Oh and I listen to the Taiwanese HITFM station too sometimes. Although I agree with Tearstained, it takes a long time to load sometimes.

I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and my favorite radio station if 101.3 KDWB. If you guys ever get the chance to, tune in to the morning show (Dave Ryan in the morning)!!! Its so hilarious and have a wide variety of music and today's hit!

They have little skits like, Minnesota Idol, or stunts like: they found an asian dude and made him go to a supermarket and skateboard through the stacked cans and screamed "BANZAI" in the process without getting caught!!!! And oh yeah, they ask really humerous questions (I'm talking about the djs too, lots of personality!) Like, "Your man still wanted to get it on when you was......" and then the caller finishes the answer (believe me, some are them are er... weird, like, a girl had a boob job done and she had to wait a day or two before "doing it" but her man was like, "lets get it on gurl!" cause he couldn't wait...)

my fave radio station is of course, Z100!(aka NY'S NUMBER ONE HIT MUSIC STATION) hehe...and there are like 2 chinese stations here in NY

i used to love Z100, but i don't like the music that is playing now.
my favorite station is K-Rock!... it's the only rock station available. :dry:
but i'll occasionally listen to Z100 or KTU.

it really sucks that we only have 2 chinese radio stations... and most of the time it doesn't play music. :oops:

here in cincinnati,ohio i listen to kiss 107 fm
but online i have several favorites
armitage.crinkle.net/tunes (this site is awesome for jpop,anime and other songs! they even have smile.dk (if you play ddr you know who they are) it's pretty cool but usually crowded)
www.c-pop.net (my newfound favorite site! do i need to tell you what they play!)
and last but not least
www.kawaii-radio.net (they are a jpop,korean,game ect...station! and they have chemistry! i love them! so in vain is my current fave and their current single!)

A fellow Chicagoan! How refreshing. I don't think there are any Chinese stations in Chicago, sorry. And if they did exist, I'm sure they wouldn't be any good. Chinatown here can be frustrating--it really doesn't offer all that much, especially not with music. There's like two CD stores. So where do you live in Chicago? I live in Lincoln Park. What school do you go to? I go to Northside Prep. on the northwest side. Are you Chinese? I'm actually not. I dated a Chinese boy last semester and he introduced me to Jay Chou, but I study the Chinese language and want to study abroad in China and maybe live there for a while. What about you?

i live in Garden Grove , California .. in case you guyss dunno where it is .. its in Orange Counti .... anyone no a good chinese radio station that i can listen to ...i've been listening to i think 1400 sometihng .. its broadcasted from San Gabriel ... can someone tell me the exact station and any other station i could listen to?

I live in Los Angeles, CA. They have a whole bunch of mex stations. lol. I like 106.7 KROQ the most. ROCK MUSIC. lol. Then 102.7 Kiis FM. Z100 is Kiss FM's sister station or something like that right? I don't know. We have a chinese station, but they only play cantonese music. 104. something. Is there a chinese staion that plays mandarin music? Jay's in particular?

you listen to that station too?! :excited: ... i love rock music also!

i'm not sure about Kiss FM... don't they play different kinds of music?... Z100 always overplay new and popular songs... that's really annoying :dry:

if you want to listen to mandarin music, you can go online to www.hitfm.com.tw... sometimes they will broadcast Jay's songs :wink2:

i don't listen to the radio anymore, but i really love '90s soft rock... so where i live (bay area, california), 101.3 and 96.5 have that kind of music. i also love rock-ish music, but not heavy metal. 104.9 (i think that's right o_O) is really good

i used to listen to 95.7 (in bay area as well) before it got randomly bought over by some country station. i don't really listen to the radio since, but when i do, it's a mix of 96.5 (lite rock), 94.9(hip hop/rap), 105.3(mm, alternative?), 104.9 (they play songs like maroon 5). basically, i just press the preset buttons and if i don't like anything, i turn to news AM 740 or a cd.

i do like to listen to hitfm tw through the internet! although since there's a time difference sometimes the songs are the not as popular songs and they're really weird.

i live in LA and usually i listen to STAR 98.7. they play pop/rock stuff. can't stand KIIS anymore cuz all they play is hip hop stuff which i don't like. KROQ is ok but they play some weird stuff sometimes. i don't listen to chinese stations cuz i don't understand anything but i know there's 1430 and 1300 that my mom listens to sometimes. once i heard them play jerry yan's song on i believe it was 1300.

Well...I like the HK radio station 903 and you can listen to it online through a stream. But if we're talking any old radio, then I guess I have to listen to American music on Z100 in NY. But what I really hate about Z100 is they overplay songs so that I get sick of good songs.

haha... that's what i've been saying every time ppl tell me that they listen to that station!

first i'll like the song, then i'll end up losing interest cause it gets played too much :oops:

but sometimes they will overplay really annoying songs too :dry:

I don't listen to radio much, I prefer listening to albums or music I downloaded. But lately, I've been listening to Taiwan radiostations, like Kiss FM, Hit FM and Iwant Radio. I found them on www.surfmusic.de, where you can find many many radio stations around the world and listen online. I also listen to the WB radio sometimes. I don't really like radio stations that play popular music, because then I get bored with a song very easily.

ah but i don;t usually listen to teh radio...cuz no mandarin songs!!

well recently i haven't listened to the radio station that much because i have been sucked into the asian music thing. but when i lived in texas i used to listen to 102.1 the edge, 106.1 kiss fm, and 101.3 wild fm. . . . i think i got those rite. . . its been a while. now that i live near dc, i listen to 101.1 dc's alternative station.

im in south cail, i LOVE KIIS FM! it's my favorite radio station! it plays rock, rap, pop, and r/b, and hip hop. a whole variety of music! but when it's on a break/commercial, i go to 100.3 the beat, or 106 power. mainly rb and hip hop stations, although sometimes 100.3 plays some oldie rb

I live in Houston, Texas and drive for the most part of my life. So I listen to my radio alot, as well as, throw in my CD's. What do I listen to on the radio here? Well there is 94.5 THE BUZZ, which plays alternative/rock songs, my favorite American music. Then there is 106.9 THE POINT, which play the 80's and more. There is also 95.7, which play alot of dance techno/R & B/ etc. But I like also 101.5, which plays alot of Salsa, Merengue songs, and Reggaton(Latin Reggae). As you can tell I spend a lot of time driving.
