Hm, I noticed there wasn't a topic on Beyonce, so I decided to make one! I hope I didn't overlook any. =/

Anyway, I've been a diehard fan of Beyonce's ever since Destiny's Child. I think now that she's gone solo, she can truly put more of herself into each of her songs. Her vocals are ABSOLUTELY amazing, and she's definitely not one of those singers that only sound good on CD. In fact, I've seen her in concert, and her voice is even more powerful live, and she adds so many different nuances too! She's doing a tour with Missy Elliot, Alicia Keyes, and Tamia this year. It's going to be so great! Too bad the tickets are all sold out. =/ On another note, I don't think Beyonce's that great of an actress, but whatever, she decides to pursue, I'll be rooting for her!

Anyway, any other Beyonce fans in here?

i'm not a big fan. some my friends are pretty die hard. so i've heard a lot of her songs when i'm with them... and on radio too... A LOT. i agree she's REALLY talented and if i was into her type of music, i'd definitely stock up on a ton of her stuff.
i read an article where she said she has two personalities. one that performs and the normal one... she said that the real beyonce would never go on stage and wear the clothes she wears... my question is... why would she then? i mean sure it might be her dream... but changing your persona for the world is pretty warped isn't it?

If you think about it, everyone has multiple sides to their personality. Even Jay has this sort of aspect. I mean, he's confident when he comes to music and when he's performing in stuff. but then look at him when he's giving an interview or conference or something. he acts like two totally different people! and in general, people are like this too. you wouldn't act the way you would with you closest friends the way you would with like, your parents or something, right? People act different in different roles, so she's going to be different when she's a performer, different when she's a friend, different when she's a student, etc. all these qualities make up your persona; when she acts one way, she isn't changing her persona for the world, in my opinion.

Beyonce has some pretty good songs in her album "Dangerously In Love" I like the song Me, Myself, and I - good song and I heard the music video is pretty cool too but I hafn't seen it.

The Closer I get to You - a duet with Luther Vandross. really really slow but the vocals are worth it!
Me, Myself and I - a little upbeat, kind of a woman-power song .. for a lack of words :wacko:
Faster songs -
Crazy in Love - kind of repetitive, but it's my favorite of her fast songs. with Jay-Z, I can't enough of this song! great beat too x) makes you wanna dance!
That's How You Like It - another duet with Jay-Z - more of a love ballad than Crazy in Love. It's nice and smooth. :)
Baby Boy - featuring Sean Paul - a lot of people like this song, but i don't think it's as good as Crazy in Love. it has an African/reggae touch to it.
Naughty Girl - funny title, but i think it has a pretty cool beat. She sings kind of different in this song.. a lil more airy i guess.

Yeah, i like Beyonce. I think shes pretty talented. She has a good voice and she is pretty. Cant deny that. I like Dangerously in love, Baby boy, and Crazy in love from her new album. She hits all the right notes. So yeah it soundz really good. Her skills in acting is alrah. She had a huge afro in that Austin Powers movie. That was funky. I have nothing against her.

i think beyonce has AMAZING vocals, and britney, well, i think she has a long way to go. and i think britney uses sex appeal to draw an audience, whereas beyonce draws people through her music. I wonder if her new album will equal or even surpass the enormous

A lot of her fans were pretty disappointed with it. Apparently, they expected too much from B.

I don't really like this intense and angry style she's adopting for the new album. I was already weirded out by the "Deja Vu" video.

Not really. But I'm not diggin' her new music. It's nothing compared to her mega successful Dangerously in Love. The first two singles from her new album can't be pitted against Crazy in Love, Baby Boy or Naughty Girl, not even to Me, Myself and I. Her recent songs are so-so, like any other budding RnB artist can do it. Beyonce has lost her spark. Her new videos are cheap and her album apparently rushed. Where is the Beyonce factor in her new MVs? Was it replaced by the fierce-looking Beyonce that she is trying to project now? If yes, well she's frustrated a lot of her fans, including me, and I'm not expecting much from hew new album because I know I'll be disappointed with the outcome. I'm afraid her new album B'Day are just full of junk songs that didn't make it to her first solo album. :worry:

I heard her new album and I thought it was good.
It was not as good as Dangerously In Love though.
But it's still worth it. Beyonce is still there.
I was blown away by one of the hidden tracks in the album, Listen,
written by B for her character in the movie Dreamgirlz.
I think it was a good song. It's nice that Beyonce did include 2 hidden tracks
as a way of showing gratitude to her fans. It was a touching moment
when she was introducing the song and saying things about her new album.
The strength of the album still relies on Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm.

September 1 (Germany), September 4 (worldwide, some U.S. stores) and September 5 for the major U.S. release. I got the album early 'cause I'm a bit too excited. :sweat:

It was a good album anyway. I thought it would disappoint me. It's not great but it's not bad either. I'm liking it the more I listen to it. Anyhoo, I think Freakum Dress and Upgrade U (featuring Jay-Z) are two of the best songs from that album. They are my favorites now alongside Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm.

Anyway, Beyonce is all praises for Shakira. She is hoping that they will be able to organise a duet together within the next few months. In an interview with Hit 40, Beyonce said "I've been trying to get us together for a year. I'm a big fan. Hopefully we can make it happen this year. I think her videos are really sexy and sound so good."

I dont notice Beyonce much when she's in Destiny's Child, but she got my attention through the song 'Irreplaceable'.

I loved the song and Beyonce's vocals are very powerful. Never thought she's 25, and goshie, younger than Jay.. Thought shes in her early thirties.
